I resolved it with the comment above. It turned out to be user error. I created a user on the linux box when I loaded Debian named "emby". When I installed emby later it threw an error so I deleted the user named "emby" but not the user directory. I then reinstalled emby and it was successfully installed but I did not realize the initial user named "emby" borked the permissions for the later user emby installed that was also named "emby" I had to delete the home directory for "emby" and then reinstall emby. Now everything works. I am still having an issue with installing the HRHomeRun, but that is for another post.

Hi, Happy to open the share with my config: Rack server (processor Intel(R) Xeon(R) Gold 6130 CPU @ 2.10GHz, 64 cores, 128G of RAM) with up to 38 drives in it (so far "only" filled with 32 drives) running Debian 12 installed in a datacenter. Full IPv4/6 access. Medias storage and metadatas storage on ZFS volumes (storage space used for medias around 220To right now). Separate storage for medias and metadatas, and separate raid for OS. Stream to bunch of different devices. 2 pictures (one during installation in rack, and one during a reorganisation of the rack). The emby server is the machine with blue locker on drawers. Vincèn

Yes. If you want the changes to happen after you change the sort order you need to update the meta images. I don't believe there is an automated task that will update your images.

I wouldn't call this result conclusive at all though - I redeployed everything, and emby and jellyfin switched places, the HWA transcode of emby looking better than that of jellyfin. I have no idea how and why, it just happened. The end result is not the point though - what would be nice is having any amount of control over that end result, instead of relying on that magical "backend will handle it somehow" thing My offer stands though: I've spun up an extra instance of emby for testing, as well as a jellyfin for comparison, and can give access to it if you need an edge-case to test - Running on UnRaid in docker, using Intel ARC GPU for transcoding. Access to configs / logs can also be done over nextcloud, I just need to create users for all that and send credentials.

Still immediately crashing. Could just be me. I'm going to try a fresh install of the beta later today and see if that changes anything. Hey user24, thank you bunches! The doublication of "AlbumArtist" and "Album Artist" indeed was the problem. By default mp3Tag only shows "AlbumArtist" and "Album Artist" is hidden so i never used or checked it. With alt-t I was able to locate and remove the "The, The" entries in "Album Artist". Problem solved! ...now I only need to find out how the tag got there at all. Probably some autotagger that went crazy Anyway: my library is pretty now and the issue was probably not caused by Emby!

@LukeFigured it out, was the NIC on the Motherboard. I was originally using a board that had an intel nic pass through to windows VM that was working fine for years. New board has a Realtek NIC passed through, finally saw it dropping out. Switched my setup altogether now running Core Ultra on server 2025. As it stands, the filter function makes little sense. Maybe there's also a way to allow logical operators directly in the search field. I then followed the instructions to restart Emby and I now have a lovely Priority option Thank you so much for doing this, but can I ask a favour? Hi, if there was a problem with the server's default transcoding temp path when you had the field blank, then you probably have bigger issues then just that. That lives underneath the server's data folder, so if it cant' write to that, then its' going to cause other problems as well. When you try and customize the path, the server will alert you if you enter an invalid path. Does that help answer your question?

That seems to have solved it for me with lite mode off. The processing times are still longer than in stable, so I do think you are right in that they changed something about how the file scans work in beta, but it is no longer crashing.

No worries and no rush! Stable is working great and that's what I use on the daily. I run the beta mainly so I'm not taken by surprise when it finally becomes the stable. I appreciate all your hard work on this!

Could be something have changed in file handling in the beta, i will have to look it up. If you really want to get it to work in the beta and running docker you can try and look into CPU pinning and see if that works, i can't promise it will though. Very sorry about it! Just didn't want to recreate something if you had something underway still. Also, I would imagine this could only work on web browsers or such? Since the third party plugins I've seen aren't allowed on store apps, since that would have to be something Emby devs release themselves? Cheers!

He's asking for a separate option or for it to go to the "Main" tab meaning "Movies" or "Series" depending on library type. IMO, it would be best if it brought up that view sorted by date added and I think that is also an existing FR.

An update to the Emby Open Library plugin has gone out to support lookups using either ISBN or the Open Library Work Id. The Work Id should help make matching easier, although you can still lookup using ISBN. Playback quality setting in the web player seemingly has zero bearing on the actual transcoding bitrate limit. It's set to something like 60mbps by default, it's transcoding at 3.5ish.

Yes, each library can be configured differently. Go into the library settings and look for these settings at the bottom. @AbobaderThis isn't a problem. Couldn't you have provided the instructions to change the settings rather than post a standard "how to report a problem" message when it isn't a problem?
