  1. Hi @Luke, any update on this? I can get ffmpeg to work on my system and hardware transcode, but not through the docker image. I suspect this is because the intel-media-driver needs to be built with the latest version. Running on Ubuntu server 25.04, installing via packages would not work, but directly building the latest releases worked for me. To make the docker image work it is likely needed to build from latest version.

  2. I'm interested in the solution for the Intel N150 processor too. This is mid-year of 2025, and the transcoding still is not working.

  3. TheTVDB now supports more alternative orders than just Aired/Absolute/DVD. Can Emby query these additional orders and add them as options? Two examples of shows I've seen this used are Re:Zero which has a "Director's Cut" display order and Money Heist which has a "Netflix" order. https://thetvdb.com/series/re-zero-starting-life-in-another-world https://thetvdb.com/series/la-casa-de-papel

  4. I've recently moved from Plex to Emby (a few months in and my experience is so much better). I love using unified graphics with my media, Posters with logos at the bottom, 4k overlays and matching collection posters etc. TV Network logos was something new for me with Emby so I've created these unified logos. If any one is interested I'll zip them up and host somewhere, also happy to take requests to add more. Emby TV Network Logos

  5. it would be very nice, if there can be a possibility to get users the access to edit metadata and image so the user can manage a the libraries. I would like to use it as a "content manager"-user which is like a technical engineer caring about the media content and nothing else. btw. emby is very very nice, thanks for all of your work!

  6. Hi, Since I am using more and more TMDb, (since tvdb is more and more a mess), I am missing a very important feature. tvdb had the feature of grouping stuff into aired, DVD and absolute, which is supported by emby. TMDb had also this feature. See this example for "La casa de papel" (Money Heist, Haus des Geldes): The Original Order is allways the "aired order" of the original country. "La casa de papel" was originaly released by "Antena 3" and was taken over by Netflix, which results in different episodes ordering, which is a mess. They solved it in episode grouping. This feature is missing from emby, but it's integrated in their API and is allready supported in other apps, like kodi. At least, Banana a TMDb Mod claims it, that it's supported by Kodi: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/71446-la-casa-de-papel/discuss/5e7032d84f9a99001152704f?page=1#5eb76872ca7ec6001f7c53cb Is it possible to add this feature into emby? It is the last scraping feature, I really really miss for TMDb on emby. It adds much flexibility and is overall a much better solution, than on tvdb with their aired, dvd and absolute order. Another great example is Dragonball Super: As you see, it adds much more flexibility for different regions over the world. It's in my own eyes a must have for emby!

  7. Current Issue: In the current version of the Emby mobile app, media libraries are displayed in a horizontal scroll format. With around 10 media libraries, this requires quite a bit of scrolling to navigate through all of them, which can be cumbersome. Proposed Solution: I propose a redesign of the media library display to a grid tile format. Specifically:Display media libraries in a grid with two tiles wide and three tiles tall.Users with more than six media libraries can scroll vertically to view the additional libraries.

  8. Same response as a few months ago. Luke's definition of near future is worrisome.

  9. Hi Luke, Add me to the list of interested. I created a community account just to let you know. I think over the next several years mtls is going to be very important for any service. Many large orgs are already moving in that direction.

  12. OK that works if I can just limit it to subs. Thanks

  13. Sorry i misunderstood you there. No. it can only be limited by library names and overlay types. It will scan every library it's allowed to for any information it is set to show overlays for. You can limit it to only show subtitles if you want that. I don't think it's possible to make a context menu unless the Emby team makes some changes. At least not in a user friendly way.

  15. Hi. A series is a collection of media items, not a single media item so it doesn't have a resolution. You could make this work using tags or different file locations and different profiles in the plug-in.

  16. Internal HDD, so that part was all set. This is fantastic, thank you - this worked like a charm. I considered DrivePool, but that's just another thing and another thing that I have to learn about. At my age that can be both a blessing and a curse. --Adrian Monk Thanks again. This is great,

  17. Thank you! Additional Info: I managed to get "The Abyss" to play correctly one time for a little while. In that situation, when playback starts, the HDR logo appears in the top right corner of my screen. I then stopped playback, resuming it at a later point, and the stuttering started again. In that situation, the HDR logo did not appear when playback started.

  22. You can do what ever with the code you want, even release you open version of that is what you want.

  23. h264 with aac audio and text based subtitles. Keep the total bitrate under 8 Mbps as most of the Emby apps used some type of hardcoded default for remote play.

  24. Just install the new HDD (internal preferred but a USB drive should work also). Then create your directories. Next go to Settings-->Emby Server-->Library and edit each library by adding the new folder(s) to the appropriate lib and emby will scan them as if they are one (and any new files added there in the future will be scanned in just like old HDD.

  25. Any news, @Luke ? This issue is sort of ruining my movie watching experience, so I'm really looking forward to a solution

  26. Hi yes this is planned for future updates. Thanks for the feedback.

  27. H.265 is the standard, also known as HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) x265 is the open source software to encode to H.265.

  28. I usually just overwrite the old version with the new one and then reboot the server.

  29. I just upgraded to the Truenas app beta version 4.9.1.0 and still no hardware transcoding for N150.

  30. If the devs would just say straight out what the issue is and what their timeline is to either fix it or admit its as good as its going to get I think you would see a lot less of these repeated requests. I personally have moved back to Plex but still tinker with Emby and visit here often as I fundamentally prefer this software and the business model but at the end of the day I need something that works for my family. "We are looking into it" is great and all and its nice to know the top guy is reading and aware of the issues (your not going to see that on the Plex side of things) but after years of the same response, it sort of starts falling on deaf ears.

  31. Seeing as Infuse on the same device plays (passes through) TrueHD why can't Emby?

  32. x265/h265 is HEVC, it goes by many names for some reason

  33. Stop expecting miracles. The dev team have been fighting with this issue for years, yes YEARS. Either abandon the Apple ecosystem and move to Android where everything works, or buy INFUSE. The fact people keep making these types of posts without even doing a simple search or browsing this group just fills this group with garbage posts. Even Jellyfin abandoned their Apple TV app and just wrapped VLC in a container.
