I'm a big fan of services such as Rifftrax, and I hate having to manually mux files every time I purchase another release. Much in the same way that external subtitle file support was added, it would be nice to have external audio track support for TV and movies added as well. I wouldn't expect Emby to handle the offset calculations needed to sync the audio. It's not too difficult for me to modify that now.

Current Issue: In the current version of the Emby mobile app, media libraries are displayed in a horizontal scroll format. With around 10 media libraries, this requires quite a bit of scrolling to navigate through all of them, which can be cumbersome. Proposed Solution: I propose a redesign of the media library display to a grid tile format. Specifically:Display media libraries in a grid with two tiles wide and three tiles tall.Users with more than six media libraries can scroll vertically to view the additional libraries.

I worked closely with a Plex developer a few years ago. That work resulted in some pretty significant improvements (namely, the elimination of the "Plex Dance" for music libraries). I was pressing for better treatment of classical music, especially a "Composer" view (which Emby now has in beta builds). Plex has yet to show any indication of matching that support. For my money, Emby is currently the better music experience. Plex's one major advantage over Emby in music is their smart playlists. Full disclosure: I don't use Emby or Plex on any mobile device. My environment is my Linux desktop, which is the server, and an Android TV device.

I'm not sure if something changed but I also noticed that if, after watching some downloaded media, I press the back button until Emby exits out completely, and do nothing else, that the server and phone seem to sync properly at some point. It's not 100% but much better than the above process doing it manually.

I did respond to Gracenote in this fashion but it seems that they are not adding new channels to their master database - but if it is in their database but missing from some markets / lineups, then they would add it to the lineups You would need someone in the USA to chime in on that. Does NextPVR cover the region ? They do get guide data from the channel broadcast stream by default.

@justinrhWe have had a response from Gracenote, out EPG guide provider concerning the availability of this new channel. Unfortunately it is seen as a new minor channel and is out of scope for the adding to their database. From what I can tell is that they would be ok adding channels missing from lineups, if the channel is already in their master database But .... unlike Plex, Emby is very versatile when it comes to guide sources and you can mix and match guides and if you find a source of guide data for a missing channel, you can add that and assign the channel to it.

The Skiasharp is taken from the Emby server install and not the Nuget to ensure using a version that was compatible with Emby. You can download the already compiled DLL or use the one i sent here. EmbyIcons.dll

Yes during this process you will need to uncheck serverid if both systems are running at the same time. You can shutdown Emby and manually delete the /programdata/data/device.txt as start Emby to generate a new one.

Must admit i haven't tested it in an Emby version running directly in Linux, closest is a docker container. I will look into it, in the mean time can you supply me with a log file from Emby, preferably a debug enabled log? Just in case. Emby tends to have two plugins folders, be sure to install it in the right one. Sorry don't know where that is located in Linux but in Windows it's: AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\plugins

OK, I've found it. It's no longer in the same sections as the libraries, as shown in the original screenshot. It's now in "Channel Access" - so need to disable the "Channel Access > All" toggle, and can then disable Podcasts.

Adding my support for this feature request. I would love it if Authors of audiobooks could appear against a People profile and related shows. I also have a lot of radio shows archived that feature comedians. It would be great if those would appear against the TV panel shows they've appeared in and vice-versa.

Hi regarding this I deleted to much of my post. I dont have the option to select languages, everything works but the options aren't there, are they removed or do i have the wrong versions, i'm just confused since i've seen them from screenshots on this thread and can find no reference to them being removed

Thanks. For now, the emby app on the samsung tv works great, and is a more usable interface than DLNA, so it doesn't really affect my use, its just something i noticed while setting things up!

Luke -- Just for a follow-up -- I saw that my Firestick Android version of the Emby App updated sometime overnight to 3.4.74, and the "Date Added" choice is now back in the sort pulldowns and is working just fine now. Thanks! Dave

Being able to specify Collections or even Genres that are allowed/not allowed for specific users would be helpful in the "Parental Control" setting. Only having maximum allowed parental rating isn't as helpful.

Thank you for your help. It was your request for the test file on the SSD that showed me the issue. When I went to copy the file from the NAS it was only transferring at 6 kbps and going to take 2 days. I was more focused on the server setup and did not think to check the speed between the devices. I run clients on multiple subnets/vlan's - I don't get the message. How are you connecting on the clients ? If via 'discovery' - then unless you are allowing udp /mdns relaying - then this will not cross vlan's. If you use a direct IP or if you are running local dns, then a local dns/fqdn name on the client (ie http://1.2.3.4:8096 (or Port 8096) or http://myserver.lan:8096 (or Port 8096) then you do not need 'discovery' and it will instanly connect and not display the undiscovered message. Port 8096)

Hello, I'm an Emby Premiere user since multiple years and love it. When I switched to an iPhone and started using Carplay, I was so happy to see Emby supports it. But when I found out it does not work with the files downloaded to my phone, I was honestly shocked. Most apps which offer music content allow offline downloads to be working with Carplay. It's even more strange to me, since Carplay is an advertised feature working with Emby Premiere only. Please add offline media support, at least for music, to Carplay. It's a very important feature to many I guess and I think it's missing way too long.

Can you elaborate what more you need for AA or Smart Playlist ? There's AFAIK no app with more features on those 2 aspect by a very large margin.

In my experience this can usually be stopped by uninstalling the app completely and then reinstalling it. The behaviour tends to recur later, though, after some further update. Paul

Update: I’ve rebased my WIP on Kometa 2.2, here‘s the link to my GitHub repo: https://github.com/tommargar/Kometa/tree/feature_emby_overlays I’ll add a download for the Emby overlay plugin later. It’s working as expected, only episode and season overlays are missing. You’ll currently need a Plex install with one library as I haven’t removed all traces/made it fully standalone. If you already have a working Kometa installation for Plex, you can just re-use the config and add your Emby libraries. I’ll also add my current config as reference. EDIT: Added files. Put the dll file in <your plugins folder for the overlays, point to your Kometa export folder and hit 'save'. The plugin will only look for update overlays when save is clicked. I have toggled PIP off for Emby Settings > Apps > Special App Permissions > Picture-in-Picture It now functions as expected when going into the multi-app menu to exit. I don't use PIP for anything on any of my Shields so this works for me.

BTW, PiP can be turned off in the Android app by toggling the permission.

Hi, what do you mean exactly? The diagnostics plugin is loading just fine in my testing. And wouldn't you rather have a personal media server and not one that puts all of your information into the cloud for the world to access?
