As an Network Security guy - I don't disagree, but again - fix the basics, then move to the more advanced stuff. Fixing https out the box, or password enforcement will benefit more people than implementing 2FA - that's all I'm saying.2 points

I have toggled PIP off for Emby Settings > Apps > Special App Permissions > Picture-in-Picture It now functions as expected when going into the multi-app menu to exit. I don't use PIP for anything on any of my Shields so this works for me.2 points

For those on the beta server, once you've updated to 4.9.0.51, and gotten the trailer plugin update, with the following days after that you'll start to more trailers and higher quality trailers. It is all youtube now. Please note, Emby apps are going to require compatibility updates, so i wouldn't switch to beta solely for this just yet. But if you already happen to run the beta, then please leave feedback in the testing area of the community. Thanks.2 points

Because I need to show my users “Recently released movies and TV series(Tv shows)”. For movies, there is an option of "Recently Released Movies" on the Home screen, but there is no such option for TV series. So, dear Emby team, could you please add a "Recently Released Tv shows" option on the Home screen?1 point

I put it on the list, frankly I never use the plugin-backup functionality. However, as I start thinking of that, probably I should reevaluate this function. Specially for forced updates which require a database reset -> auto rollback.1 point

Great! Thank you for the quick response.1 point

Timeline update: Currently I'm working on 12.X version. Main focus is on Kodi 22 support and as usual performance. If there are any feature requests, now is a good time letting me know. I assume the next public testing version will be available in June with some core changes under the hood.1 point

In the case of my setup clients will always use the remote address because I block access to the LAN address on 8096/8920, I want to force all traffic through my reverse proxy even internally. Having said that I reviewed my rule and it's block instead of reject, so it may still be trying to connect to the LAN address before it fails since block drops it silently. I will include testing around this and if block/reject makes any difference in trying to recover with a reconnection to the wifi. I treat all remote connections as local since I have the bandwidth and they don't need to touch any of their settings to direct play everything, that may also be playing a role here if it's trying the LAN address but they wouldn't have anything in their network at that address anyway so it should still fail and fallback in a similar manner.1 point

HI, if this is a brand new model then usually what happens is our next store submission to Samsung will cover it. That should be soon. Thanks.1 point

I would create a 13.5 jail as the newer version will maintain pkg support for longer. From Emby's perspective it doesn't matter and your backup will transfer since your Emby version is the same.1 point

Hi Sean, nope, I never did that. That setting I assumed was going to transcode. I just enabled that setting, and set a recording going. Waited a few mins, then played it, and skip forward……. Now works. Its a bit slower and ‘clunkier’ than the current androidTV (that ma be just my perception of what I’m used to). For the good of the testing (and hopefully future enhancement), I will live with that for now and swap my primary and testing apps around. At the very least that will be the end of the prompts to try the Android native app. And it’s not transcoding either, I just checked. Can I ask, what am I to call this Emby Android app, and should I get my remote users to change also (they don’t use recorded TV).1 point

Got it working again without using Emby server 4.9.x working on stable 4.8.111 point

@LukeIdeally, there should be an option that allows the user to manually add or change the trailer link from the metadata. Many times the system doesn't select the correct language, but if I search on YouTube, I can usually find the trailer in the desired language and in good quality.1 point

Im my expeirence it was easier to setup VPN tunnels to each of my remote clients (only a couple) than use Emby's SSL. Average users could find it difficult to setup.1 point

Come on, Emby team—why is two-factor authentication (2FA) still not implemented? This is a must-have feature, not a luxury. In 2025, it's shocking that a media server platform like Emby still doesn’t support basic security tools like 2FA. Your users have been asking for this for over seven years, and yet there’s been no serious progress or clear communication about it. Security should be a priority, not an afterthought—especially for systems that many of us expose to the public internet. Please take this seriously and let the community know when we can expect 2FA support.1 point

I would like to submit the quality of the trailers as well as the mapping of the trailers to the respective national languages as a request in order to increase the priority. Please vote with "Like". Many thanks Seger1 point

So still not booting but at least I can see all my data, including that on the c:\ drive. My hardware is good but I think I will use this opportunity to update this machine to Win11 by replacing the M.2 drive, updating the BIOS Firmware to a Win11 compatible BIOS then installing Win11 on a new M.2 drive plus installing a second M.2 drive for Emby Data, including the transcode buffer. All this was planned already and I even already have the drives to do it but just haven't had the time to do it. Now I'll make the time to do it!1 point

Yeah, as Paul said, you need to rename all those episodes according season they belong to (as per TVDB). You can use any 3rd-party tool of your preference, like this one or this one or this one or any other.1 point

As mentioned above if episodes will inherit from Series unless they contain their own Parental Rating. If that is the case, then you have to customize each episode's PA as Cutom PA will not override existing episode data from Series level. This script has been mentioned in other topics for this issue.1 point

Here is a debug log for failed launch. I launched on 7:19 and I waited until 7:21 to shut it down. Also here is the debug log for the successful launch just after. EmbyClient hang on launch.txtEmbyClient successful launch.txt1 point

Update: It works. There's an option in this version under app settings to force conversion for mpegts which converts the audio exactly as expected. In addition to my question above (about having to reinstall every month), the app is missing its icon on the home screen (not very wife friendly). Is there some way I can correct this? Edit- I removed the app from home screen and re-added it and it got the icon back. Thanks1 point

An update to the Emby Open Library plugin has gone out to support lookups using either ISBN or the Open Library Work Id. The Work Id should help make matching easier, although you can still lookup using ISBN. Here is clarification on the differences between Open Library works and editions: https://openlibrary.org/help/faq/editing#work-edition1 point

There is now an OpenLibrary plugin in the Emby Plugin catalog for books, and it supports ISBN lookup. Please try it out and report your experience. Thanks !1 point

I second this request, though I know that Czechia and Slovakia arent super important markets globally. Titulky.com (subtitles) and Csfd.cz (metadata) are indeed very widely used and very popular websites over here, so their implementation would be very cool.1 point

Its strange isn't it....... Many people online say they removed that TOS section and now is fine - others say by stopping the caching you are fine (however its all still going through the CF CDN so many others say you are not), I don't know who is right for sure. I will be moving my domain hosting out fo CF in case I ever get blocked regardless. My ISP for the last 18 months has a fixed IP - and never TOS blocked either in the tons of years since using CF. I use CF for my domain hosting also - plus two other domains - that was one idea why I was safe - of the fact that my domain is in the lower alphabet and they start at the A;s and work down ? Who knows. Now I and not putting the streaming stuff though them any more - using a slightly modified and easier method that horsepdf above - but same idia. I now see MB per day instead of many GB :1 point
