Hey Luke, just wanted to let you know that, at least for me, this issue was resolved with the latest Android security update from April 5, 2025 for my Pixel 7 Pro running Emby for Android 3.4.362 points

This would be nice for those with fringe antenna signals. The provided "Direct Play" option still goes through the server and as a result hangs when channel experiences a signal drop. The HD tuner seems to handle this issue without problems through their app. VLC handles it as well. Thank you for the consideration. Jack1 point

I did a forum search for "volume" & saw a lot of posts, but none related to this subject specifically (though admittedly, I didn't search through ALL the many pages). Since I recently got a large chunk of FLAC, MP4 (Apple lossless) & MP3 music files, I have been enjoying adding new songs to my many playlists. I must say that Emby seems to do a nice job of "prioritizing" the new additions so they are popping up often, but not exclusively. However, some songs seem to have different native volume levels, requiring me to adjust the volume on my player/speaker to better accommodate a "level" listening volume. I remember having this problem with iTunes when importing new MP3 files (from converted CDs). I used to have software (MP3 Gain) that would "listen" to a group of files & adjust the native volume of each file to a specific target decibel level I selected (called Radio Mode). Of course, it wasn't perfect, but it worked well enough & fixed the real highs & lows. The Apple Music player itself also offered volume normalization that worked pretty well within a certain range. A quick internet search shows that Audacity (free, though other options were also offered) can accomplish the purpose similar to MP3 Gain for FLAC files (and I assume MP4), though I would have to experiment a bit to verify that it will work for this purpose. The latest version of MP3 Gain for Mac I could find is: v2.5 (Using MP3Gain 1.5.2 with AACGain 2.0.0) -- 2021-02-09. It would be nice if Emby could offer a built-in "radio mode" option when streaming, that would augment or diminish the native volume of individual songs so the output would be nearly level, at least enough to avoid having to manually adjust the output volume on my bluetooth speaker. It should be an option, not automatic, because certain albums (especially classical) have different volumes as part of the "art", and may be preferred in those instances. However, for the bulk of most recreational streaming, a somewhat constant volume output level would be preferred. You could add a "RADIO MODE" button to pages that allow streaming of groups of songs (like Playlists, Albums, entire Folders, etc), especially when shuffling.1 point

I'm actually surprised that this hasn't been implemented yet, as the format cdg+mp3 is supported in ffmpg natively. As for indexing, the format uses regular mp3 tags wirh artist song etc..1 point

Hello, I mainly use the folder view, and by default, files are sorted by "file name." On each client, for every user, I have to manually edit the metadata for each folder one by one to change the sorting back to "title (ascending)." It would be very appreciated to be able to set a per-user option to apply a default file sorting order. Thank you in advance.1 point

It's OpenLibrary. An update to the plugin has gone out that should be able to get a description in more cases than before.1 point

Any enthusiasm for this has long gone for me, though admittedly I'll probably get some of it back when it eventually turns up, hopefully before the children retire.1 point

Hi, we'll get it into the 4.9 beta channel and then we'll assess whether to backport to 4.8 or just get 4.9 released as quickly as we can. Thanks.1 point

OK I made a small change related to this on the beta server, so for immediate relief you could always try that if you want. Just keep in mind that if you do, any rolling back to 4.8 stable will require a fresh start.1 point

He's right, there is no Imdb metadata. But Open Movie Database is English only, so you might want to move that to a lower priority or disable it.1 point

OMG, es funktioniert, MEGA!!! Lieben Dank. Muss zugeben ich hab auf den Link nicht einmal draufgeklickt, obwohl dabei steht, dass es Details für das Setup sind. Manchmal sieht man den Wald vor lauter Bäumen nicht. Viele Grüße1 point

Even assuming that a user should know how to manually change their display refresh rate after the Emby app is closed is unacceptable. Most people posting in this forum probably know how to do this but the average user of the Emby Windows App should absolutely not be expected to know how to fix this problem.1 point

Having the same issue as the above users, posting here so I can follow the thread. This has to be fixed, it reverting my 165hz panel to 23.96hz is a huge pain in the ass, it never did this before so I'm not sure why this was even added/changed. Never had any playback issues prior to this. I think everyone's question though is "why"? If I go change my refresh rate back to 165hz while the title is playing there are literally 0 issues so I'm not sure why Emby is switching my refresh rate even when this "feature" is disabled. It's super intrusive and a massive annoyance to reset.1 point

Thanks Bill - I appreciate the honest answer I may take a look myself just out of curiosity more than anything as I don't use LiveTV much these days. Assuming you mean on the Core Introskip - then yes, I could do that but I would really prefer Emby to finish what they started with Introskip and add a proper framework/api for 'markers' - the same as what Jellyfin has done ... (media segments - covering commercial, preview, recap, intro and outro) ..1 point
-
What we did with the original Introskip plugin was optionally 'insert' a visable chapter called 'Intro' (and credit if you had one) into the existing chapters. This then showed on any 'timeline' or chapters view. As the EDL file has the start/end of any/all commercials - would inserting a 'chapter' for each commercial, labelled as 'commercial' be of any use ? If yes, then it's fairly easy to do this, as you just need to extract the existing chapters, add the news ones from the EDL file, re-sort the chapters and save - all in emby, you don't touch the source file. @BillOatmanIf you are interested, I still have the original Introskip c# source to do this that Cheesgeezer wrote and I have updated numerous times ..1 point

Hi, the app will have a more robust video player than the web browser, so that's why videos may be quicker to load with it.1 point

You can already edit the list of ignored articles to allow you to incorrectly alphabetize your titles if you like. Edit the SortRemoveWords values in the SYSTEM.XML file on your Emby server. Soon you can effortlessly have all out movies starting with 'The' down in the Ts until a librarian smacks you firmly with a rolled up dictionary.1 point
