TVnext will surely be here first, otherwise, I guess we'll have the biggest, best and most beautiful trees ever seen. Tremendous forests, folks! This is the MEGA project! Make Emby Greater Again2 points

No I only have the one admin account. It appears there is a bug in the SetUpWizard in that it will allow you to change the name of an existing use to that of another existing user which hides the second one - in my case my admin user. However there is a simple fix. Set IsStartupWizardCompleted is system.xml to false and restart the server. Next time you connect to the server from a browser the setup wizard runs and a couple of steps in it asks you to set up a user. In my case I could then rename the first account back to the correct name and make my admin user accessible again.2 points

Guess you got your answer here And Emby can't help you with your illegal transactions with your provider. Emby is a software company, NOT a hoster or contend provider.2 points

My point with that last sentence is that you are very much in the wrong place. Nobody here can help you. You have paid for a service yes; but you have not paid Emby. Nor does Emby condone or support re-sellers (the people you've paid). To use a somewhat extreme analogy: You're asking the cops for help contacting your favorite drug dealer...2 points

Just a heads up. Not only does the Android version of Emby run on the Meta Quest 3, but the Android TV version does as well. The screen is resizable as well with a screen gadget in the left lower corner of your virtual screen. It uses the pass through mode so you can have a 20 foot big screen tv in your living room if you want. You will need to enable developer mode on the Meta 3 and use Sidequest to side load it. Have fun!1 point

It would be great if i could set the server to delete certain shows after a user has watched it. I happen to watch "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report", everyday, and with "News"ish type shows, there is no need to keep the episodes around. So i would like to set MB to auto delete those 2 shows, 3 days after one user has watched it.1 point

Hi there, I couldn't find a way to configure which sounds will be used for the Pushover notifications. This means there's no way for users to mute them. It would be nice if there'd be a dropdown menu or a text field for this (similar to Sonarr, Couchpotato or the nzbget script).1 point

It eventually sorted itself out but it’s just weird since it immediately saw a much larger movie file I had in a different “Movies” library on the same hard drive.1 point

not withstanding your outstanding work, at the moment I'd go for MEAGER - Make Emby App Great Eventually Right ?1 point

Yes I did read it - but that does not detract from the fact that your setup is in the tiny fraction of a minority that 'does not work'. Emby is simply using the Google/Android Exo player to do the low level 'work' - it may well have incompatibilities with your TV's firmware or it may be I/O issues caused by your network - we really don't know without a detailed investigation - that is what we are explaining. Saying Infuse works or Kodi works does not change this, as they do not use the standard Android Exo player.1 point

Portable version seems to be working. Guess I need to find some time to reinstall it all! Ah well....Appreciate the help buddy!1 point

Thanks @Happy2Playfor stepping in Not really a windows guy.1 point

Is that all you get when you launch Emby? But sounds like something went really wrong with the migration or didn't happen. I really hope you have backups. I guess you can rename/delete the system folder and rename the system.old folder back to system to revert to previous version but if the database have done any updates I am affaid they will not be compatible with previous versions.1 point

This is an upcoming update to Emby, not something separate. I has only be developed in parallel due to its complexity.1 point

Yes you right, now with the program that Neminem suggested the lyric works good and I can say Emby manage the text better than PLEX and Kodi1 point

Finaly! I've solved my problem. I needed to get to the system.xml file via SSH terminal and with the help of Carlo's guide I figured out the commands and by deleting the file the server recreated the file. Now everything works. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/118986-tutorial-ssh-into-synology-nas-with-useful-examples/1 point

@Painkiller8818it's all sorted pal, Scott needed to update to the latest version of the plugin. As always, thanks for helping tho!1 point

To my knowledge Emby sees them after a library scan or RTM picking them up.1 point

I have done some forum diving / searching about you iGPU Jasper Lake. The first 1 I would ask about how to do in the unRaid forum. Its about editing a file in your OS / unRaid. But I do not think its that, since you stated its working in other media servers. The 2 others are other things to try. Read through the posts carefully.1 point

The Emby organisation does not run the server you have paid for access to. You need to contact vdrome11.xyz (as shown on your login screen). Good luck with that, as they appear to have no other website, and their contacts details are hidden from whois. A Google search for them returns zero results, so I guess they don't want to be found. Clearly they know their business is dodgy... Paul1 point

For further context, a lot of bandcamp artists have their artist and album descriptions on theaudiodb.com For example, here is the artist description for GUILD MERCHANT: I own nothing. No rights reserved. Everything is derivative. GUILD MERCHANT was the barber beat alias of Bounty Ballad. Starting in late 2023, GUILD MERCHANT quickly became a popular name in the scene, and participated in several big URL shows before releasing their final album as GUILD MERCHANT on Janurary 27th, 2025. However, in Emby, this is what the description looks like:1 point

Correct, although that's not a bad idea to add.1 point

Hi Luke. I ended up creating new folders with different names to resolve the issue but, the next time it happens will try to remember to get screenshots for you. Thanks!1 point

It would be great to have one of the options under the suggestions area for movies and TV shows be a heading that is something like "Jump Back In" for TV shows and "Rewatch Old Favorites" for movies. I'm looking for ways to beef up the suggestions area. Recommending old things that have already been watched for people to rewatch might not be a bad idea.1 point

No, there could be more than one. We could just attach the user who deleted it.1 point

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!1 point

Leo, I would guess that your original media is in the process of being transcoded and this limits forward and return options. Try using an online test video with a more basic video and audio codec, like 1080P h.264 .mp4 and AAC audio. If that works, then you can assume the media content transcoding has perhaps reached a limit for your server. I don't do transcoding. Everything in my media library is more basic video and audio that always plays on everything. You can capture a log file and submit it here, so everyone can see if this transcoding limitation is true, but it is sort of easier to test a 2 minute video to see what might be happening.1 point

I just installed that version. I will try soon. Thanks.1 point

Well @ebr Well, that's the thing though. I have the parent library folder of MOVIES and in that folder each movie is in it's own folder. After much work to make it happen, every folder is now named consistently, such as "Training Day (2001) [tmdbid=2034]" When I search in the Movies library using the search icon at the very top, I get nothing, as shown in the screen capture. BUT, when I search from the main start page using the search icon at the top of the screen there, I DO find the actor and their movies. I am now super happy and actually kind of glad for the trouble over the past few days after I renamed pretty much every file and folder. NOW I have automatic collections and an easy way to find specific actors and their movies, instead of doing all of that manually AND having to manually maintain everything as new content was added.1 point

Do you have Pluto's m3u playlist setup in Emby or ChannelsDVR?1 point

Try turning on NFO reading and writing for the library. This won't generate the NFO files on existing media until something changes which will then generate the NFO file. What you could try as a test is to edit the metadata of one movie you wish to move. You may be able to save without making a change (check if NFO is generated), otherwise edit a field, save, edit field back, save. Generate new folder for the Movie if needed and move the media file and NFO into it (if needed). Move the folder to the new location. Do a Library scan. The movie should have been removed from the old location and added at the new location, while keeping your metadata.1 point

Much appreciated. My posts on video issues are also transcoding audio....I just thought of that. There might be a connection.1 point

The issue was collections set number in the server was 3 instead of 2. now 80% of collections showing up some are having issue and i believe that due to some files Thanks1 point

Hi, you can learn how to get the nuget packages here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/wiki/How-to-build-a-Server-Plugin#create-your-visual-studio-solution-vs-20171 point

Might be a bit more work but can be done a bit at a time which will slowly improve your LiveTV experience with each channel matched to Emby's built in guide data. This will get you the best meta-data for including descriptions, cast, graphics & Logos. Every Movie, Show, Sporting event, or broadcast will have a graphic/poster looking at any "program" view such as On Now, New Shows, etc which is rare with typical IPTV guide data. This would get you the light and dark theme station logos as well. You could then change any logos you want. For IPTV, here's the general method I suggest: What I do for IPTV is add the M3U tuner, then the XML EPG set in the config to only be used for the IPTV tuner just set up. I do his even if I have 1 tuner and 1 EPG source. This way if I add another tuner source the EPG source just added above will not try and auto-match to the new tuner. Next, I will add the DirecTV sat guide for my zipcode but will not have a tuner assigned to it. This will keep it from trying to auto match the channels already loaded, which normally causes issues, sooner or later. Next, I'd edit the channels starting with my local stations, network & sports I use most, etc. I basically go most important to least important, maybe doing any channels that didn't match the XML source EPG next going down the line. I'd typically do some channels each day vs one sitting. You can use the filter to view auto matched channels (XML EPG), manually (I've manually matched) and channels without an EPG source. That makes it easy to know which channels I haven't manually matched yet. For each channel I process with the DirecTV Emby Source I'll do a quick search (CTRL-F) of the DirecTV PDF. for the channel number. Now I edit the channel, change the Guide to the DirecTV click the Guide Channel Number, type the number which is normally faster than scrolling the list. SAVE the changes. Repeat until you're finished with the DirecTV guide. https://www.directv.com/dtvassets/pdfs/channel_lineups/DIRECTV_ChannelPackageLineUp_AllPackages.pdf https://www.directmagazine.com/UserFiles/Issue_PDF/DIRECTChanels.pdf Next, I'll add a new guide for Dish Satellite and repeat the process we did earlier for Dish. https://my.dish.com/cms-files/channelcards/2024/0108/Channel_Lineup.pdf You might need to repeat this process for other guides depending on the channels you have.1 point

My synology emby want working for a few days and I waited until I found a solution, I followed this process as best as I could execpt the only matching file I found was the Emby.Helper.dll . I didnt find any of the other files mentioned here (Readystate.xml and EmbyScripterX.xml) or elsewhere. i saved a copy of the log. but then I looked again and realized I was supposed to be in /volume1/@appdata/EmbyServer/plugins/configurations# to find those 2 files. I was in /volume1/@appdata/EmbyServer/config# which is why i couldnt find them. just posting this in case someone else made this silly mistake. hopefully it works again after this1 point
