Hey, Just an update on the situation, I removed emby server from the NAS, I then re-installed it and then updated it to the latest beta version and the issue I had seems to have been fixed. Not sure how or why....but I'll take it...just in case anyone else runs in to this issue. Thanks for the help and suggests folks....

I've fixed the issue on my side for my JBL earbuds! I just found it on reddit for my JBL earbuds. Apparently you can set in the JBL app the settings to VIDEO. This fixed the delay when streaming Emby. I also find out that you can fix it on PC (windows 10 and 11) by disabling all enhancements (although none were turned on, ticking the box like below, fixed the problem). search for sound settings > choose your output device > device properties > additional device properties, gave me below window.

Just a minor nit, the topic should probably be renamed to Websocket Keepalive because that's the actual FR, and the timeout is the issue.

Once you use the 'Identify' function, you're effectively updating the provider Ids for that item (eg. TMDB or TVDB, etc) Refreshing that item in future will still use the same provider Id, so you won't have any issues with it being identified incorrectly again, you will just get any updated metadata that has changed since you last refreshed. No need to lock anything.

It has nothing to do with live tv. Please read the bug report of the user in the Apple forum section. It's a general problem with the Apple TV app that by coincidence happens when using my plugin. So i'm not in charge. Just help your users when they are reporting problems.

I'd like to see a feature where on a piece of content there was a button to report a playback error or such. I have a lot of content that I haven't watched that friends have requested - if there was a simple button they could click that pings me a message letting me know there's an issue with the file that'd be great.

Sorry if I don't have a great way to describe this, but I've noticed since updating to TVOS 18.0 some things lag, the 2 biggest being: -After we finish an episode, it takes a long time to fall off the Up Next list. Force closing and relaunching the app will make this happen, and sometimes going to the Favorites menu and back will trigger a refresh and it will update. -If I hit the Back button during an episode it will go back to the menu, but the audio will continue until I do the same things above will make it "realize" that something changed and it'll stop. I think the resume from time will be accurate to when I backed out at that point. Happy to help pull logs if needed, and this doesn't seem to happen on my phone or browser, although those might behave a little differently than the Apple TV w/remote already. (Also are there any plans to introduce the speedometer looking icon to control playback speed along with the Audio/CC options during playback vs in the Settings Gear? Love that on my phone) Thanks!

Hi Emby Team Since updated to the last version, when you're playing anything and you quit playing (by pressing back button on apple remote as done always), the audio of the video keeps playing until you try to play another thing (or the same thing again) or you kill the emby app from running on Apple TV. Curiously if you try to play the same video the interface loop back to the previous screen. The video below shows this issue: IMG_1897.mp4 Can u please fix it asap ¿?

Would love the ability to have an extended search function that will scan the additional categories listed in the title. Maybe even include character names of the cast as well. I found myself wanting to watch a movie that takes place in Russia and wish I could do a search for Russia to bring up any movies that have this as a keyword or included in the plot somewhere. Many of my movies already come with plot keywords so it's an underutilized part of the metadata as far as I can tell. If this ability is already in Emby and I have somehow missed it, please close the topic.

Quisiera consultarles si es posible añadir la función de "zoom" en el menú al que se puede acceder desde la app para TIZEN (durante la reproducción flecha arriba > rueda de configuración > Aspect ratio. La función que hay actualmente estira la imagen, en lugar de conservar la relación de aspecto. Por ejemplo (ver imagen adjunta): NORMAL: 2:35:1 ZOOM: Llenar toda la pantalla conservando relación de aspecto (se pierde parte de la imagen a la izquierda y a la derecha). Esta opción les consulto si es posible añadir. ESTIRAR: es la que actualmente realizar la app en este momento. Se deforma la imagen. Si es posible realizarlo aunque la función no esté disponible les agradezco mucho la ayuda para poder hacerlo. Muchas gracias, ¡Saludos!

As long as you have a database and metadata folder backup of before it happened you will be fine as you can restore. If you don't then you have to wait on Emby to refetch all metadata and images. Personally store metadata and images with media so Emby does not technically have to do anything but read on a rebuild if needed. If you are database only metadata/images something happens to that database you could loose everything and have to start over. One reason you should have the backup and restore plugin maintain multiple copies of the databases as it only maintains one full backup which you can still loose everything depending on when the issue happens as if there is a issue around the same time as a backup kicks off you will loose content from the metadata folder ie images per item. It is always good to have your own backup plan outside of Emby.

Yes this is expected as you are telling Emby to replace all metadata. So if your doing customization you need to ensure those fields are locked if available. And a Refresh will not affect that field.

BTW tried the method I mentioned above and worked like a charm!!! If anyone is interested I can explain how I did it. Thanks for the hints @Happy2Play!!!

To reiterate, though, there are many of us with setups and delays that aren't fixable - having audio delay functionality built in to Emby (as it is on so many other platforms, as reported above) would be very helpful to many users, i.e. your 'consideration #2' above.

Thank you. This may work as a temporary solution. But I believe Emby is fully capable of downmixing to stereo and transcoding audio to a lower bitrate, because it does happen when an app asks for it (pardon my terminology, I'm not a programmer). Server is already transcoding video for a low tech device so transcoding or converting audio shouldn't be an issue for server powerwise.

To a point yes as the old method extracted all the data as was able to import into new. Now there isn't an easy method to import users into a new install.

That item is transcoding due to unsupported graphical subs (typical for browser playback) - try playing that item without subtitles selected (or obtain/select text-based subs) so item would DirectPlay and then compare results.

Ok, looks like selective marketing from LG. I will have to decide which to use: LG app or my HPTC, LG App would be fine for TV series. However, the Codec Intro issue in my other thread is important to get working for mvies, do you have an understadning what is causing the issue? Further testing today shows any of my Codec Intros that need trascoding freeze after 10 seconds, added a third example to the thread.

Not unless using some 3-rd party solution (like this one). But you can always show community/critic ratings below posters/title, which is practically same thing.

I think this is an issue with tvOS 18. Try restarting the Apple TV, you may even have to restart it twice then see if that's better. It has resolved a few strange issues for a few people, including me.

Would need server and ffmpeg logs for that example but "recovering from playback error" suggest the play does not like something specific to the file.

I know there are different variable per platform when it comes to period prefixed files so Dev will have to confirm as no I do not see an issue on Windows testing this.

Ah yeah, that's in Emby for Android TV only. Sorry couldn't remember which of the apps have that option. Have you tried downloading the file to the tablet it self and playing it with another player like VLC? Just to see if it really is the tablet that's at fault. Other wise something like Tdarr might be the easiest solution. Unmanic is much more user friendly than Tdarr if you go that route. Will take some time for a whole movie collection to be fixed but once set up it's automatic set and forget. Also a fun project IMO.

I have mine hooked up to a soundbar right now and it shows Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and DTS. In the disabled formats, which my soundbar doesn't support, I see DTS:X, DTS-MA, Dolby TrueHD, and Atmos. I will need to try plugging it into my pre-amp to see if those get enabled. So far pretty impressed with the responsiveness of the Streamer over the CWGTV 4k it replaced. Most of which likely amounts to being hardwired over being on wifi. I run Projectivity Launcher on all my devices so the UI changes don't really matter to me. The new remote is much better. The Home Hub feature, the main reason I got it, works great. I'm making a solid attempt to run only the Emby for Android Beta on it rather then the Emby for Android TV app i prefer. I told the family that the Emby app updating was part of the overall hardware update to soften the blow but they aren't loving the change to the new Emby app so far. If you are in the market for a new device and are already in the Google ecosystem I would recommend it. As an upgrade from an existing CWGTV, its a bit of a wash but I'd still probably recommend it for software and updates alone.

I'm in the same boat as you, and I'm slowly migrating away from my cable cards. Channels DVR as stated above has been my go-to, this has allowed me to manage all my sources and then just pull them into Emby. (Pluto, HD Home run Prime, HD Home Run Flex 4K, TVE, and now ADB Tuner) Check out this project as well. - ADBTuner: A "channel tuning" application for networked Google TV / Android TV devices - Playground - Channels Community (getchannels.com) I have 5 tuners setup to use the ADBTuner app with both my Xfinity stream account and a trial YouTube TV account, both work amazingly well I haven't run into any real issues yet other than the initial setup cost.

Spectrum priced me out wheny promo expired. Rather than them cutting a deal to keep money coming in I cut them out and jumped to YTTV and Frndly to get what I needed. I added Channels DVR for TVE with an m3u tuner to Emby but will probably just let that go to as I've found we're just not using it as much as I thought. Then I bumped my internet speed to Gig and still came out ahead on the monthly outlay.

If you're not gaming and want something that is low power and can transcode, just get an Arc A310 or A380. They will run circles around the Nvidia card when it comes to transcode quality and power usage.

Here is a script I created in PowerShell to automagically convert any video in a specified parent directory (and recursively through any subdirectories) from their original format to HEVC.
