  1. I have left Plex to comeback to Emby. after a number of years. I hope Plex users see this. In short, had lots of problems with the main account being kicked out, hell of a time getting it to reconnect. Plex is not a personal media application anymore, and that's what I paid for, but that's gone now. Plex had more links to their crap in the side menu then I did...LOL. It's not easy to manage users or set them up, They do not care about the users, it's about how many plugins they can insert to generate more cash. Since I have moved to Emby, huge difference! Great management with the app, Plex doesn't have that, theirs's is garbage. Very easy to add users, and my users like it much better. Emby blows Plex away. Is it perfect?, No, close enough for me and I know they are going to keep working on it. I urge Plex users, give it a try. Keep up the good work Luke...please do not change your path or the vision for this software. I think Emby is going to see a lot more Plex users come their way. Thank you!

  3. So the Steam Deck is pretty hyped now. They showed it as a streaming device in some videos today. It's powerful enough to play pretty much anything directly, heck it could even be a server quite easily with it's specs. A lot of people got to talking and now people are saying Plex is going to release a version to Steam so that it'd just run through that and play onto SteamOS without the user having to muck about outside of Valves ecosystem. There are plenty of free tools / video players in Steams Software section, so it'd be a pretty neat little thing I imagine.

  4. I moved from Plex to Emby and even though I think Emby is superior in its flexibility there are some things I like better with Plex, especially in terms of its looks. This theme is trying to fix that by making it a bit more similar to Plex but with some, in my opinion, improvements. The CSS is attached to this post for anyone interested and below are some screens to show it off Good to know I only use Chrome so I can't guarantee this CSS works as expected in other browsers. If you want the sidebar menu to look like in the screens, make sure to pin the sidebar. Watched badge/banderoll is inverted which means that the badge will not be shown if media have been watched, like in Plex. For desired look, please use the "Dark" theme for both Theme & Settings theme in the display settings. Emby-Stable-style-v3.6.txt

  6. I apologize for the typos in my previous post, can't edit it. I mentioned that having it in-player is better because I've found different files requiring different sync settings. However reflecting on it it seems silly to have to stop watching, go in settings to find the specific one, adjust it, restart the video, check if it's ok, go back to settings etc etc... Kodi handles it beautifully, allowing you to change the delay while the video is playing. Makes setting it a breeze.

  7. You can make feature requests here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/forum/98-feature-requests/ PS: I just stated my opinion above, I don't make the decisions

  8. I suspect at least some of us wandered over here after searching "audio delay," don't use Emby Theater Windows, and were just chiming in. Regardless, how shall we ask you to implement this in other Emby playback apps/platforms?

  9. I'm on Android, and though it *is* the wrong sub (I came here through googling) it doesn't mean the need isn't more general. Also, from experience what having watched countless videos over the years, nothing beats an in-player fix. And that's why players always have it getting and center instead on burying it in the preferences.

  10. Guys! I've rarely been more confused from a conversation like from this one. Almost every participant has their very own specific view, understanding and expectations - which is not unusual at all, but what's kind-of hilarious is that participants do not only share the same common denominator (being able to adjust A/V delay in Emby Theater for Windows), but also sharing the exact same blind spot about it... It's so weird that I even feel like I should apologize for the case that I'd be missing or misunderstanding something. Otherwise I'd like to gladly inform you that Emby Theater Windows does provide an option to configure audio delay (positive and negative)! It's there for years already and the same setting exists in the new Emby Windows beta. There's no adjustment possible during playback (via hotkeys like someone suggested), but the feature exists and is working. It's fine for making adjustments to accomodate for latency differences in local audio and video paths - which are typically of rather static nature. What it's not intended for is the mentioned use case of fixing/adjusting for incorrectly authored media files. If someone has corrupted or flawed videos, there are tools available to fix them up, even before adding them to your library. Emby has clients for more than 20 different platforms and it doesn't make sense to implement video editing and fixing features in every single one of them From my personal point of view, this is way beyond the scope of Emby. On the other side, allowing adjustments for A/V delay to compensate for software/hardware behavior on a client, is definitely a basic and elementatry feature and we have that for quite a while in ET Windows.

  11. Yep - I noticed this too - it's just counting Extended Cut twice as Extended is also a valid lookup - I just haven't got around to fixing it yet but will do so in the next release - thanks for raising as a bug .. string[] Edition = new string[] { "Extended Cut", "Director's Cut", "Directors Cut", "Special Edition", "Extended Edition", "Extended", "Ultimate Edition", "Ultimate Cut", "IMAX", "Anniversary Edition", "Despecialized Edition", "Remastered", "Final Cut" };

  12. Something minor but when I have a file with [Extended Cut] in the filename I get the following output - 4K DV7 HDR10 {Extended Cut} {Extended} [43.7Mb/s] Remux. This was for Avatar (2009). Would prefer it to just have {Extended Cut}

  13. I've also noticed it in one member's log the other day: IIRC I started seeing clearlogo SVG images on TMDB some 6 months ago, more or less. And it appears it's preferred format now, so I'd guess we'll be seeing more of them. https://developer.themoviedb.org/docs/image-basics https://developer.themoviedb.org/reference/alternative-names-copy

  14. IMO - this ^ is the best argument for a stand alone music app. There are no further options for music in the home screen, it's just the last things I loaded into Emby. No genres, no last played album (only recently played song), no recently played artists, no artists you may be interested in etc etc etc. Even the suggestion area of the music section only has recently add, last played and frequently played. Music needs to be treated differently than tv and movies, most people do not listen to music like they watch movies or tv.

  15. No worries, everyone was new at some point. As with all plugins: server's \programdata\plugins folder; you can find server's main folders location (as those vary by platform) in the Dashboard by clicking three-dots next to your server name>Get Server Info. Restart the server once .dll copied. Yes.

  16. Finally I jump into the version 11, using Kodi 21.1 with 11.0.8. So far so good, but did not use it a lot. Will post if I find anything! Thanks for the great work!

  20. Ghee nothing that was posted was even legit as GitHub goes back to 3.2.21 will be platform dependent but back then it was limited, but you would only be able to use a browser as all clients require a minimum server version of 4.7.14.0. Only betas versions get deleted. But from a legal standpoint Emby could end of life all Premiere keys with every major release ie v3 to v4 to v5 if they wanted.

  25. As this is obviously an app problem, it's important to reproduce the problem without VirtualTV and then start a new thread in the correct forum section. Steps to reproduce: In the Emby Apple TV app, from your normal libraries, start a video that was failing with VirtualTV. Seek half way thru the video so that a resume point will be created. Stop playback. After stopping playback, restart playback by selecting "Resume". (Does it work correctly? If yes, proceed with the next step.) Rotate the Emby log file. Start playback of some other video in the Emby Apple TV app and let it play. In some other Emby app, browse to the video with the resume point. Enable "Play On" by selecting your Apple TV (casting symbol at the top right of the screen). Start playback by selecting "Resume". (Does it fail? If yes, proceed with the next step.) Start again at point 4, but this time select "Play From Beginning" with the "Play On" feature. (Does it fail? If yes, proceed with the next step.) Start again at point 1, but skip point 3 and 5.

  29. Problem solved, thanks for reply I thought of a suggestion, is it possible to automatically set the audio to Mix down to stereo when adjusting the playback speed? Then resume bitstreaming audio when normal speed Because the playback speed button is hidden, it really confuses me to think it's a bug
