  1. Good day, We return the modifications temp after the update, I will replace them soon with more modern and customization than before. Templates I need to delay them more before I start modifying them back again. Speed will improve for sure later on, as we really update the server-php-mysql-forum all at once, so sure something need to be optimize and we are working on it. Thanks all. My best

  2. It's an over-generalization that tone mapping and QuickSync are broken in Linux. It could be said the tone mapping and QuickSync might have problems with specific Intel CPUs and some Intel generations but this depends on the CPU and features. Also, most find that Mobius is brighter and has more accurate color results than Hable.

  3. I can access EMBY now from a WAN connection! #1: I upgraded to the 40G Priority Business class. $20 more a month than the standard home plan. This provided me with an almost static PUBLIC IP number. #2: Get a router that you can use, i have a ORBI Mesh system now. Most important part is said router must include port forwarding. #3: Put the Starlink Router In Bypass mode. #4: Connect your router to the Starlink. Assign your internal sever a static LAN IP number. Reserve that IP number in the DHCP settings or give the server a static IP number that is not in the DHCP range. #5: Port forward the port used by EMBY. should be 8096 unless you manually changed it from embys dashboard. DONE! The public IP number that is provided may change occasionally, but they suggest that it will only change during prolonged power outages, if you move your location (which is only a problem if you are roaming with the dish) and if they do software updates. I have read that some haven't had the public IP number change in over a year. There are a few ways that people are getting around the CGNAT issues with Starlink. Did i want to give Elon another $20.00 a month? NO! But it seemed to be the more logical and simplest way, for me, to go.

  4. I had used activity streams before and even had saved a couple I customized. But then the single click "Fluid" mode on the home page was simple enough that I forgot about the others. Now the "Temp Fluid" stream I've created as a workaround is growing on me and I might even stick with it.

  5. Your 'emby-ssl' rule is set to forward external port 443 to internal port 443. Are you using a reverse proxy? If not and you intend to connect to emby server directly; the internal port of that rule should be 8920 (or whatever local https port you have set in emby server). /edit for clarity: There are two set of ports in emby server; 'local' and 'public' (http/https). The 'local' ports are what emby server is actually listening to on the machine it's running on. The 'public' ports are what Emby tells the clients to use to connect. If these are different than the 'local' ports, you need some infrastructure to receive that connection and route it to the local ports; such as a reverse proxy, or simply a port forwarding rule with the correct external(public) and internal(local) ports.

  6. Thanks @Luke, I upgraded without an issue, thank you...! I also had noticed that a previous update added the missing "Songs" tab in the music library, allowing us to shuffle our entire song library. Awesome! At this point I think the only real criticism I still have is not having an option for backdrops on the home screen, and the fact that the artwork doesn't cycle in the details screens of the various categories. I find it very aesthetically (thanks spell check ) pleasing to see a nice rotation of the artwork I curate. But thanks for the progress! I appreciate the efforts, as always...

  9. I get these "stuck" sessions now, they do not clear unless i do a restart of the server. The other thing i noticed about this is that the time on this item is 43:21 out of 43:12. Running 4.8.8.0 on ubuntu linux.

  12. Temporary fix would be to lower the playback quality on client to force transcoding. Just needs to be lower than media being played but this would apply to all media. But in the end you should probably look at reencoding so this media does not have to be transcoded. But really is a personal choice and server capabilities.

  15. I have been hearing soon on the watch together feature being added for about 5 years. The funny thing is I see nothing in the betas mentioning it.

  16. Yeah, the word "soon" really needs to stop being used. It has no meaning after nearly a year.

  17. Is very soon, Luke's very soon, because he said the same thing almost a year ago? What actual duration do you put on very soon?

  20. For CarPlay there will be fixes related to this in the next update to Emby for iOS. Thanks.

  21. FYI the latest beta release of the app won't pay attention to missing episodes during playback if you uncheck the option to show them.

  22. Hmmm.. I believe the vast majority of people would much rather their server certificate is optionally managed by emby (not the content as that has nothing to do with the cert) rather than be insecure. And if your goal truly is a personal media server - why do you provide the EmbyConnect ddns service ?

  25. AndroidTV and Android apps work perfectly well with 4k, thd etc at 100mbit/sec remuxes. If you are having issues then its a combo of your setup. I do agree that emby has made a poor strategic decision on disabling smb on the android app for real direct play (same as kodi/plex). I use an older version of android that still supports smb for this reason, but i know http streaming works just fine as well.

  26. Guys, everyones equipment and their settings are different. Some people turn on 'image processing' on their playback equipment which is making a poorly encoded file look 'ok' by filling in frames etc. 25fps material plays just fine in all the emby apps incl av receivers, but if its source was film/23.976 then its never gonna look great as its been messed with. Scrap the file and re-rip it ensuring you match the original frame rate and interlace details. Kodi 'may' be doing some of this intelligent frame work, which is why it looks better..

  27. Well, its basically functional, i would not call it perfectly fine imo. Item and menu selection seem particularly awkward, no shortcut buttons etc. No smart design of mimimal button presses etc.

  28. For anyone interested I have been using and updating this docker image which installs the packages for Media Toolbox. I'm using this on TrueNAS Scale and it has been working with no issues for a while now. I found it was the easiest way to get the plugin working over there. https://hub.docker.com/r/makacan/emby

  31. I don’t even see an option for this on this thing. The browser is so barebones in that regard. edit: don’t ask me why I didn’t do this to begin with. I just typed in the ip address to the server manually in the browser address bar and I’m in. Thanks for helping.

  32. Change the settings for Emby in CasaOS. Click the 3 dots and select settings. Where you see Volumes is where you edit your storage pasts. Host will be your /mnt/usb and the Container is what that folder will be named in emby.

  33. This I have always done. It's not proportional to the count of checkboxes checked but to the sum of the numbers right to each checked checkbox, so the biggest difference comes from having Server > General/Windows checked or not. Yeah, that's why I said "temporarily". I know it's being worked on. From what I've understood, there's some major updating of the db server in progress, so let's give them a little time, I'm sure they'll get it back working like it should.

  34. If you add a Premiere licence to your server (you need your own server to use one) it will serve any client without separate payment. But note that it doesn't enable the client for use with other servers without Premiere. See the features enabled by Premiere here: https://emby.media/support/articles/Premiere-Feature-Matrix.html Paul

  36. You certainly understand why that is a particular challenge for us as it would require us to break with one of our major tenets of existence - YOUR media server, not ours.

  37. https://github.com/mochman/Bypass_CGNAT/wiki <-- looks to be a good guide. For router an old computer with two network nics and OpenWRT or PFSense is always a safe bet. OpenWRT has better wifi support according to most people. A small mini computer for aesthetic and power efficiency reasons might be preferred. I haven't tried one my self but looking around it seems like a cheap Intel N100 one will work great, i plan to switch my own Ubiquity router out with one in the near future when i upgrade my network. For a short while i used a Raspberry Pi 4 with an extra USB -> RJ45 and OpenWRT as a router for my 1Gbit line, it worked pretty well.

  39. I can only agree, it runs amazing on Scale. Regarding "KneelBeforeZod's" mentioned issue with Truecharts apps, is not an issue itself. The situation here is that he has installed the app from the Truecharts catalog and not from the official catalog. I had that myself also, but after the removal of Truecharts apps in Scale, I simply uninstalled the Truecharts Emby app, removed the Truecharts catalog, and reinstalled the Emby app from the official catalog, very easy and also future proof for next big Scale update in coming October. Of course you need to load all your media and rescan it again, but if you have your media structured then this is not a big deal. And again, Emby runs great on Scale.

  40. Bingo! Using the "Emby" app instead of the "Emby for FireTV" app resolves my problem. Now the problem is that they are essentially indistinguishable unless you look at the version number.

  41. This continues to be a very poor experience with bugs and problems on top and would really benefit from improvements ASAP. * On Android the resume button on the notification never works. * There have been random cases where something has downloaded according to the UI but it never showed, like it silently cancelled. * The ux is very poor on the UI around trying to figure out how a download is going. The only way to see is via the Android notifications tray, but it lies or doesn't show the full queue.

  43. I agree with nicholas_davies, it's 2024 and the fact that there is not a single MFA option yet is ridiculous. Someone mentioned that it wouldn't work over http, well then just disable it for http and make it a require https. Any kind of MFA is better then no MFA.

  44. Using 1080p for me i prefer the library tabs on the ATV version, they stay right where you expect them and don't need to slide around to see them all... great feature if you have touch controls but the remote has to go over each one anyways. I also don't see the point of the slide menu on the main screen, for me i only see it when backing out of the app and it just shows the same stuff that is already being shown. the normal app works great on the tablet and phone... but i prefer the ATV version on the TV. The topic was really if there was a way to disable the missing episode prompt when doing auto play in the ATV version... I have missing episodes turned off on purpose as i don't care about missing episodes... what I do care about is auto play just playing the next episode "already in the library" automatically without requiring manual intervention. Side loading 2.0.98 works but I also don't want to miss out new features in newer clients. I am hoping an option to turn off this behavior gets into a future client.

  45. The android tv version is a much cleaner experience for use on the tv with a remote. The android version works but seems clunky with all the extra touch input type features to navigate around... sliding menu's etc... maybe i don't have it tuned right, can the android version act the same as android tv and look the same?

  47. This is indeed great news - I'm looking forward to this I hope we get an API interface as part of the new feature set - allowing us to create our own dynamic smartlists via plugins/scripts and display the results as home screen rows - this will be a real game changer imo.

  49. Hi everybody I had worked on the new version of this plugin and that was in the test, but the site unfortunately is closed. A new site with part of subscene archive is https://subsource.net/. This site is not as powerful as Subscene but is good. I contacted the owner of this site to make a plugin for his site and give me API, and he said ok, but you must wait because we are in beta mode. I start making the beta version of the plugin for this site until the owner gives me a confirmation. Thanks all

  50. I'm curious to know why this wouldn't just be an option, similar to Audio Track selection. Wouldn't we only see less ability to direct play/stream when selecting a secondary video track?
