If the dashboard is reverting from https to http for your WAN then this point to an issue with your certificate. Probably need to see a server startup log.2 points

v4.0.1.42 Added 'decade' tagging a while ago to my own version (lol) but I don't ever recall uploading it on here. This adds a tag with the decade that film or episode belongs to - prefixed with a hash. ie #1980 This allows you to quickly filter for all films in the 1980's for example. WARNING - there is no on/off switch for this decade tag - so if you use this version, it will add it regardless. I never got around to adding another toggle switch.. Emby.MediaInfo.zip As always, please backup the previous DLL before overwriting with the attatched. A restart will be required and a refresh of items if you want the new tags added.2 points

The Unify was connected where the link now is, there were renovations so it was a temporary solution. Now I can't find the POE power cable. Thanks for the video, I will change SSID or setup like in video or alternatively get a power cable and setup the Unify as I think it will manage the network more intelligently. Thanks for your help2 points

Those episodes appear to be named 505Exx instead of S05Exx. Rename, rescan.2 points

@chef, I believe i figured out the bug. So in the movie Bad Boys Ride Or Die. The Logo artwork was showing on the movie detail page, but when i clicked to edit artwork it was blank in the logo section. This was the first Logo that Emby chose automatically. So I replaced this with another Logo, and scanned. All went well. But one other bug I want to let you know of is, even when the option for enable first in library is ticked, I still had to go to each user profile and drag from last to first. Also another quality of life addition if you may, could we add a scroll bar when we are adding movies manually or possibly a search?2 points

TheTVDB now supports more alternative orders than just Aired/Absolute/DVD. Can Emby query these additional orders and add them as options? Two examples of shows I've seen this used are Re:Zero which has a "Director's Cut" display order and Money Heist which has a "Netflix" order. https://thetvdb.com/series/re-zero-starting-life-in-another-world https://thetvdb.com/series/la-casa-de-papel1 point

Pretty simple suggestion. I have multiple users for my Emby server. If I want to do continuous maintenance on the media, I have to tell everyone. some of them are harder to reach than others ( i.e. no Facebook or Skype chat etc. ) It would be great if say... on the admin panel, I could hit a check box that enables 'maintenance mode', where the server still runs does everything as normal, but instead of the login screen it displays a maintenance page saying the server is unavailable. Even better if I were able to directly put a reason in a text box that would then display on the login screen as well. Not really sure what others would think of this, but for me it would be quite helpful. mostly if I want to make sure no one is trying to access content I know won't work until I've done a full library scan again. Thanks for reading. -Kyle1 point

Hey there, Not sure how much demand there would be for this but something I noticed scrolling through Netflix last night was how many of the videos I have in my library are now on Netflix / Prime...it made me think as I now access Emby through devices that have access to Netflix / Prime I should be able to remove the movies physically from the server and instead link through from my Emby library on certain devices. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but for me it makes sense to only hold the movies that I need to on physical disc taking up space and for the others to link through to the appropriate store if I have a subscription. Meaning I have one central Emby repo for all my links, whether that link is to a local share hosting the media locally or to an online repository such as Netflix / Prime. Clearly this is a little niche but is probably where we are all going at somepoint in the future... There would be a lot to work out in the logic of it I'm guessing and is probably based mainly on the client side with an "emtpy" move / tv holder being placed on the server to be ignored by clients that are told they don't have access to the streaming service. Thoughts appreciated on whether this is a stupid idea or one that makes sense? I know I can setup watchlist and in turn I can and do use the PlayOn Channel which gives me the option to view those streams, but it would be slick if they were natively in my library as is now Cheers mini1 point

I was unable to figure out why it wasn't working - possibly some exception that was being caught somewhere - but it's working now. Here's the implementation as a metadata provider: https://github.com/Protected/EmbyFolderSize/blob/main/FolderSizeMetadataProvider.cs This seems to cover every update case. I tried to minimize database updates, but since there are multiple entry points for a metadata refresh I don't think I can reliably know if the update is part of a larger update that involves other items - or in other words, if I need additional items to be (reliably) updated in the database in every case (which I do, since folder sizes depend on children and affect parents), I must update them myself.1 point

I'm voting for this as well, e.g. Futurama has a different streaming order than TV order and renaming the episodes and finding out what goes where is not very fun.1 point

Comments in a request really become irrelevant just like now as it all cross discussion and nothing to do with the overall request. Personally should be a Poll with no comments.1 point

How are reactions a Good way to determine what people want? Confirms my speculation...1 point

I am not sure how you came to that conclusion, but by the reaction count (which is how the Emby team determines the popularity as per their pinned post in this forum), this is only the 11th most reacted request. There are 10 other requests that have more users requesting it.1 point

At minimum you should change the SSID name so that all your devices are connected to the same point. How does the Unifi come into play exactly? Is it connected to the DLink and being powered with POE and used as an additional WAP? I'm not familiar with the DLink configuration options but while trying to look into it a little I came across a video for setting up a DLink as a wireless access point which is from a different model but the web configuration pages look the same so I think there is good information in this video which you may find helpful. In this example this would be expanding upon the current network, rather than acting as a separate one which is I think what the Bridge mode setting is doing. I'm not sure if this is what you want to be doing with connecting to your landlords network but if you were already connecting to it then extending the network shouldn't be an issue, you may want to confirm that.1 point

@chef, Also forgot to mention that I do store my images and nfo's with the video files. Hope this information helps.1 point

I want to give a little bump to this, i think that this could be a good solution for the specials showing on their respective season. Making this a user preference instead of a server side option.1 point

Interesting assumption. might be true. but you realize that this is the most and most often requested feature by the community? if you are right, this just means that the emby team doesn't really care about their community. I'm not saying that this is the case but there are only so many reasons after 7 years of inaction. at some point, a 'it's on the roadmap' doesn't cut it and is the same as doing nothing, which leads me back to them not caring. in that sense, I'm with @bandit8623and a no we aren't doing it would be much better and at least honest.1 point

Happy2Play thanks for your reply. After some time with trial and error, I managed to get to a "fix" and a conclusion to what happened. it seems that the Emby jail for truenas Core is expecting version 13.2-RELEASE but truenas Core is only fit for 13.3-RELEASE right now, I could not fetch the Release 13.2 for some reason. when the update of the jail was triggered some libs were updated for the 13.2 release but the jail since truenas could not get 13.2 would not update, breaking the libs shown in the error, mainly FFmpeg, but not breaking completely the emby server. So it seems fine until it doesn't work with subtitles or other things that could be broken. I was able to rollback to a version using the older libs and server version4.8.3.0, but this means that the update for the jail is broken and could not be performed, as well as the new installation of the the plugin is asking for the missing 13.2-RELEASE as shown in the error "Error: 13.2-RELEASE was not found!". I truly don't know how many people are using Truenas, even less the Core version to Host Emby Server, but for now, I imagine if any of them use the update right now will break the Emby server and if they don't have Snapshots or don't seem to catch the error on time to still have some snapshots, they will not be able to install a clean plugin again, since it errors out asking for 13.2-RELEASE. Just pointing it out for some future problem that anyone could have to be related to. I don't know if it is worth renaming the post to something like a problem with updates on truenas or just closing this out, since this is "resolved" and has no further action related to this issue itself. Thanks for the help and all the developers for making this amazing app, I have been a host/user of it since early builds, and the progress has been amazing XD.1 point

Hello Luke, I'm waiting for it but for more than two years now... When the new version will be available ? Thanks1 point

Yes all abandoned/duplicate sessions from same device client will bounce back and forth just like opening two browser tabs and playing something in each as the server see the device with two sessions whether active or stuck/abandoned on occasion. And the only way to clear is restarting Emby. As this is not limited to any specific client and there are several topics recently on it so not sure is something is amiss in current release. But in the end it appears Random as no one can consistently replicate the issue so far.1 point

Its a custom Its a customised version of HT to speak to the Emby api.1 point

@Luke as the Emby source code is no longer open it is difficult to help but something simple like this would hook it together -- Dependencies implementation 'com.google.android.exoplayer:exoplayer:2.15.1' implementation 'com.squareup.okhttp3:okhttp:4.9.1' implementation 'com.google.code.gson:gson:2.8.7' UI Layout <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent"> <com.google.android.exoplayer2.ui.PlayerView android:id="@+id/player_view" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android:layout_centerInParent="true"/> </RelativeLayout> MainActivity.java import android.net.Uri; import android.os.Bundle; import androidx.appcompat.app.AppCompatActivity; import com.google.android.exoplayer2.ExoPlayer; import com.google.android.exoplayer2.MediaItem; import com.google.android.exoplayer2.ui.PlayerView; import com.google.android.exoplayer2.upstream.DefaultHttpDataSource; import okhttp3.OkHttpClient; import okhttp3.Request; import okhttp3.Response; import java.io.IOException; import com.google.gson.Gson; public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity { private PlayerView playerView; private ExoPlayer player; private OkHttpClient client = new OkHttpClient(); private String zidooBaseUrl = "http://your.zidoo.device.ip:9529/ZidooControlCenter/"; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_main); playerView = findViewById(R.id.player_view); initializePlayer(); } private void initializePlayer() { player = new ExoPlayer.Builder(this).build(); playerView.setPlayer(player); String videoUrl = getZidooVideoUrl("your_video_id"); MediaItem mediaItem = new MediaItem.Builder() .setUri(videoUrl) .build(); player.setMediaItem(mediaItem); player.prepare(); player.play(); } private String getZidooVideoUrl(String videoId) { String url = zidooBaseUrl + "getModel"; // Example API endpoint Request request = new Request.Builder() .url(url) .build(); try (Response response = client.newCall(request).execute()) { if (response.isSuccessful()) { String responseBody = response.body().string(); ZidooResponse zidooResponse = new Gson().fromJson(responseBody, ZidooResponse.class); // Use zidooResponse to get the video URL return "http://your.video.url"; // Replace with actual video URL } } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } return null; } @Override protected void onDestroy() { super.onDestroy(); if (player != null) { player.release(); player = null; } } private class ZidooResponse { // Define fields based on Zidoo API response } } -- Its very basic but I cannot see the Emby code.1 point

@Luke is there anything we can do to get this to the top of the list. The new Zidoo Z9X 8K is an insane media device, Zidoo have had a go themselves at Emby integration and it works fine BUT obviously your APK is lightyears ahead. Getting exoplayer to understand the Zidoo hardware is the holygrail... if I could beg I would.1 point
