Hello, There is a Kodi addon call "gdrive" from ddurdle who can read videos (original and transcoding version) directly from Google Drive. Why not build on this idea to integrate Google Drive as source directly in Emby Server ? In addition, Emby could generate automatically the STRM files from one or many Drive folders. And transcodings are already available with Drive so no need to transcode with Emby server. What do you think ? ------------- Three reasons why this feature will be useful and awesome: 1. Cloud is the future and today the cost is affordable. I have a Google Drive Unlimited for $50/month (ie $600/year) and I have unlimited space that is secured against crashes. Knowing the cost of hard drive and the cost of power consumption, its a very good deal. 2. Google Drive transcode video file. This provides different stream quality like Youtube (1080p, 720p, 480p and 360p) and the "image quality/compression ratio" is very satisfying. I can play 720p video on my poor 4 Mbits DSL. 3. You don't need to have a big server. Personally, I opted for a little dedicated server (Kimsufi 2G) for the cost and I can leave it run 24/7! Furthermore, me and my friends can watch movies from anywhere! Basics features that should be included: GOOGLE APPS OAUTH2 for activation and permission playing transcoded version (MP4 360p, 480p, 720p & 1080p) directly into Emby's app playing original file (avi, mkv, mp4) directly into Emby's app import embedded subtitles porwerful script module for multiple folder scanning and STRM generating

Check out the Emby beta builds from Test Flight. The most recent beta (1.8.9.9) was released only 8 days ago. There have been at last 6 builds in the past 90 days. Clearly, Emby for Apple TV is not dead and the team is working to improve functionality.

just to let you know... the emby app has crashed 2 times and have sent the logs. i have removed the app and re-isntalled the app. first time.. I just turned on the TV and clicked on the emby app..crash log sent, then it went into emby.. second time again clicked on emby, crash report sent log..went into amby... what is going on here ??

As a side note, the Lg C3 will passthrough full HD audio DTS and Dolby via eARC. I have this connection with my shield and Lg C3 and it is working fine.

Depends on the client and the last time it was validated as the cache only lasts so long. From free clients there will be no issue. Premiere clients will last as long as the validation cache allows.

Nodes are Kodi's way to fill views. A reset is harmless as long as you haven't modified them manually (would be overwritten). It's required when I modified something in the nodes. If you don't use affected/fixed nodes, you will not experience any difference and can keep it as it is. It can be triggered in plugins's config menu -> sync -> node reset

Coming from Plex, one thing I do miss is the finer control regarding collections. On a library level, Plex also offers a "show collection and individual films" setting. On a collection level, it offers "show as collection", "show as individual titles", "show collection and titles", "inherit setting from library". Sometimes I want collections together (Star Wars trilogies, Alien anthology), sometimes it makes more sense to list them separately (Alfred Hitchcock movies).

Just +1ing this for music. All my music is ReplayGain tagged and it's pretty annoying for the volume to be all over the place since I like to listen to large playlists on shuffle.

Thansk for the help all. After trying all of this with no luck I eventually stumbled in to the solution. As always, this was a misunderstanding of Linux stuff on my part. I had thought that authenticating my SMB mount with user "media" that I use for all of my media related apps and containers would mount it as user media but that was not the case, I also needed to specify the UID and GID for that user in fstab.

It shows as root because it is root. When you exec into a container shell your session will run as root unless you specify a different user:group. The user running the application inside the container is the same as on the host. At least the UID:GID will be the same. It is possible to have the name look different in the container if there are /etc/passwd and /etc/group entries for the user. Either way it's the UID/GID that matter and dictate what ownership and permissions you need on the filesystem. Make sure the user running the container app has access to all of the directories which make up /media/oplink/drive1/EmbyRecordings/ and write permissions on EmbyRecordings. Then make the permissions on any other media paths used by Emby match this one. The path /media/oplink/drive1/EmbyRecordings/ seems pretty long. Is this the internal container side of the bind mapping?

Thanks for replying! Yes! I noticed it was the problem of my SD card, my Openwrt was installed on a SD card, and it is broke and can’t be written. I just buy a new one and it is solved now! thanks for your guys!

It will redo everything as if it were a new scan, following all of your library options. There is no distinction based on where the image originally came from.

Well this becomes a grey area as not all album/tracks only have one artist. But assuming you have Artist/Album/track structure and library structure setting set to the same the artist image should be saved there. Otherwise all artists will be in /metadata/musicartists folder. Could be a timing issue if arts was added via another album already creating then in /metadata/musicartists also.

The issue could be related to episodes having the same title. We'll stop matching based on that criteria and that should resolve it.

@NinkoNo and that's sad. I like the AndroidTV app much better. Just look at the list that still need to be fixed, not seeing that in the near future. Like Luke said "It posible in the future" Fix what's what wrong with the AndroidTV, and keep it on par. Till you can satisfy people. I do have a copy of the AndroidTV apk, if I need to reinstall, and keep a copy when updated.

It was @chefthat wrote the Introskip Plugin but @Cheesegeezerdid indeed write the Chapter insertion code and it's that part which integrates the Intro data as hidden markers which the Emby Clients then use. It was always a bit of a hack as the Plugin has it's own Intro database. As @datanethas said above, support for the Plugin has been withdrawn for a while now (maybe 2 years ago..) and nobody is likely to fix this given how the project ended.. I myself (reluctantly) moved over to the Core Introskip about 6 months ago - as inevitably I knew the code was going to break someday. Once the plugin is removed, you'll need to re discover all the Intro's again I'm afraid. The Plugin Intro markers will remain if you don't turn on the new core feature, BUT if turned on, the Core will not have it's own fingerprint data so it will assume it has no Intro data and attempt to find it, overwriting the previous Plugin entry. There will be other functionality 'missing' vs the Plugin (no editing, no Credit detection etc to name a few) - but from a functionality perspective, the core version works 'ok' - but unfortunaly it follows the 'emby way' of a minimal viable product only ...

Not sure what do you mean by that, there's practically no difference between having no Premiere key and having it but not being able to validate, you'll just not be able to utilize Premiere features of the server in either case (with the difference that not being able to validate will give you short period of time with server running on cache, which will eventually expire).
