is it? i would seriously dispute that. all it does is set false hope for the person that made the request. no timeline is given so the requestor follows up or gets frustrated. i notice the "nice idea for the future" line isnt used as frequently any more. hopefully people have learned. users want clear communication, not obfuscation and setting of false hopes3 points

Even when triggering a new library scan, I would logically also expect as a user that the task respects ongoing background extractions. The good news: With @rbjtechsuggested setting, I added 4 other faulty movies at once, ran a manually library scan, ran manually a thumbnail image extraction task, and all chapter images are back in place.3 points

It was @chefthat wrote the Introskip Plugin but @Cheesegeezerdid indeed write the Chapter insertion code and it's that part which integrates the Intro data as hidden markers which the Emby Clients then use. It was always a bit of a hack as the Plugin has it's own Intro database. As @datanethas said above, support for the Plugin has been withdrawn for a while now (maybe 2 years ago..) and nobody is likely to fix this given how the project ended.. I myself (reluctantly) moved over to the Core Introskip about 6 months ago - as inevitably I knew the code was going to break someday. Once the plugin is removed, you'll need to re discover all the Intro's again I'm afraid. The Plugin Intro markers will remain if you don't turn on the new core feature, BUT if turned on, the Core will not have it's own fingerprint data so it will assume it has no Intro data and attempt to find it, overwriting the previous Plugin entry. There will be other functionality 'missing' vs the Plugin (no editing, no Credit detection etc to name a few) - but from a functionality perspective, the core version works 'ok' - but unfortunaly it follows the 'emby way' of a minimal viable product only ...3 points

Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless1 point

I wanted a colorful, but minimalist set of Library and Genre icons for when I'm using Emby on Roku, and something that stood out dramatically from the movie posters and thumbs. Here's what I did for the My Media set. Here's my Movie Genres: And the Series Genres RAR file attached with the full set as PNGs, and there is some in the archive not shown above (like Sports and Adult). Enjoy! -Mickey EmbyIcons_v4.rar1 point

So you are saying you don't want to see the transcoding segments? As the ts number changes with every segment. But what would you like to see when media is being played? But to a point it is required playback information.1 point

Maybe something like this would be better (generated with GPT): Thank you for submitting your feature request! We appreciate your input and are always looking for ways to improve our services. To help us prioritize requests based on community interest, please feel free to use reactions on this request. By upvoting with reactions, you can indicate how much you'd like to see this feature implemented. Requests with higher reactions will have a better chance of being prioritized for development. Please note that, while we take all feedback seriously, there is no definite timeline for implementing any feature requests. We will keep you updated on any progress, but implementation will depend on various factors including resources and feasibility. We value your feedback and thank you for helping us make our product better!1 point

I do not see any outages or anything being blocked on the firewall. If it happens again, ill see if i can do some trace routes and see if something is going on with the routing / gateways.1 point

Thanks for getting back to me, Luke. To be clear, this happens with every video that needs transcoding. I tested 7 videos, and all 7 failed when I forced transcoding (by setting a lower quality in the player). I do hope a future ffmpeg resolves this - that would be the best solution!1 point

Standard Android app - top statusbar and bottom taskbar stays visible Android TV app - both statusbar and taskbar are hidden Android 13 introduces this taskbar which hides during fullscreen playback but does not hide during fullscreen navigation on the standard android app. Is there some way to copy what Android TV does to hide both these bars during navigation?1 point

Yes and yes. 10.X: "Emby" label is just a placeholder to keep the plugin compatible with Kodi 21 but not actually supporting Kodi's version selection. Only the "classic" plugin based multiversion selection is supported. 11.X: Specials and multiversions is integrated into Kodi's "new" functions. Actually I'm already working on 11.X and both features are already working in my dev version. I think will released as public testing in the next weeks.1 point

Good news. So the logic on this is writing an 86Gb file (in my case for Oppenheimer, as a Remux, assume yours is similiar) takes time - could be minutes, could be much more if dragging over a network for example - so emby sees it as new, waits for a peroid and then starts processing it but of course it may not have finished writing to the storage yet .. @LukeMaybe there is a way to check if the file has finished writing before you start processing or maybe extend the wait peroid before you attempt to process ?1 point

RTM for the library is deactivated, but for the thumbs, creating preview thumbnails was indeed set to scheduled task and when adding new media. I changed it to your setting, and now the images are back. I will readd the movies with missing images one after the other now. Thanks so much @rbjtechand @sa2000for the guidance!1 point
-
On the library settings - do you have it set to generate on new item ? If yes, then it's possible (if also using RTM) that it's attempting to read the large 4K Remux file before it has actually had a change to finish writing ... I've seen this before. Thus you get 'blank' images because that part of the file is not yet available. I turn off RTM and also have the thumbnail task as a schedule (which is blank). I force the task at the end of my pre-processing scripts - when I know the file is in its end state. You could also run the task out of hours, when you know you will not be adding files etc.1 point

Did that, still disappearing images (see the post over yours). Tried to replicate as clean as possible.1 point

If you had preserved the container library path to look like they did on the original host you shouldn't have needed a rescan. How they're mounted on the host itself doesn't matter as much since you can map the bind mounts to different paths.1 point

This is no longer needed (or supported, I should probably remove it from the Plugin ) because the core thumbnail generator now dynamically does HDR>SDR conversions. Just remove the effected BIF files and let the core regenerate them via a metadata refresh. If you don't use BIF files, then the HDR>SDR function in the MediaInfo Plugin was not your problem, as that just re-created the BIF file - it did nothing else.1 point
-
yes, but it's a primitive/unsupported way of doing it and I would probably do it differently today via Plugin by linking provider id's, but unfortunately I have no plans to do so.1 point

Thank you for the reply I have had mostly success doing a test migration of the data to the Debian server machine whilst leaving the Emby install on Truenas just keeping the app powered down so i can easily spin up if all went wrong. Everything went fine other than it no longer showed the media in the libraries. After checking things over i had to update each individual library because of a path change /Audio to /media/Audio /Documentaries to /media/documentaries All the mount points for the Truenas samba shares are mounted in /media Currently doing a library scan but so far it's loading in stuff fine and a tested a documentary and it's started fine, i don't see any obvious problems so far other than just having to update the library paths. And thank you for reminding me about the Emby backups i would have forgotten then wondered why it's not backing up. Had to do the same as the media libraries and just point to a /media/Private/Backups/Emby location. Cheers!!1 point

after some testing , the create recording button appears if i login with https://app.emby.media/ or https://wmc.emby.media/app , on custom login https://[redacteddomain] works ok (the button does not appear - with css caveats described in first post), i need to mention that for reverse proxy i use caddyserver. Thank you, hope it helps.1 point

This has been resolved. Netgear Armour was blocking access due to local request. VPN got me out the door and Armour not part of the equation. Disable Armour and it works.1 point

The devil's in the detail... Do you have two exclamation marks? Have you got season folders? Have you named the episodes with the series name (not the season name) plus the s0xe0y bit? This works perfectly for me, first time: Of course, you could just call it Wagnaria!! which is what TVDB will do anyway - that will avoid any ambiguity, and it's trivial to change the name in the series metadata, as I have. Hint - if in difficulty, look it up on TVDB's website (or if a movie, on the TMDB website). There you will see the name it prefers; all the other names it recognises; and the date. It occasionally helps to use a more distinctive name from the listing of names; and the date is sometimes not what you think, or another site might have. Use names from the metadata supplier concerned, and they will do what you need: Paul1 point

@ArchivoEnsalleKindly do not use "Report Malicious" for troubleshooting purposes, you'll get the assistance in relevant topic when Devs get around to it. Thanks.1 point

If I'm not mistaken, those would be Arrowerse crossovers - @rbjtechkindly shared his Crossovers script quite some time ago, don't honestly know whether it still works: Btw you might wanna rethink your episodes naming scheme and use one of the supported naming conventions, as you're bound to face issues having them named like they currently are. Not sure what do you mean by that, there's practically no difference between having no Premiere key and having it but not being able to validate, you'll just not be able to utilize Premiere features of the server in either case (with the difference that not being able to validate will give you short period of time with server running on cache, which will eventually expire).1 point

Is there not a way that we can decide for ourselves? Perhaps an option to change that setting so that those of us who don't care about the length of the scans can capture the so called 1%?1 point

I agree with nicholas_davies, it's 2024 and the fact that there is not a single MFA option yet is ridiculous. Someone mentioned that it wouldn't work over http, well then just disable it for http and make it a require https. Any kind of MFA is better then no MFA.1 point

For clients that can use 3rd party remotes (ie Android TV) I'd like the ability to use a remote of my choosing and be able to map my remote to functions in Emby. We should be able to keymap all important functions such as EPG popup in video, stats for nerds, RW, FF, jump back 10, 30, 60 seconds, jump forward 10, 30, 60 seconds, etc. We should be able to use the number keys to enter 3 or 4 digit channels for TV channel changes. Basically any function available in the UI should have a key mapping associated with it so we can use it with advanced remotes. The remote is our gateway to using Emby and the more functionality we have to customize this for our use the better and easier it is for us to use. Being able to map your own remote is a long standing tradition with many other system and is a long overdue addition needed in Emby. If you agree, don't forget to like this post.1 point

How is there not 2FA yet? That's ridiculous, there should at least be that option1 point

Great news! Emby for Samsung has been updated to 1.8.0 for 2022-2024 models. For 2020-2021 models, the update is still in review so hopefully soon. Thanks.1 point
