I suspect this would've worked if the OP had added the local VPN (wireguard) subnet to the LAN subnet in the Emby network settings? Nothing else needed unless this was tried and I missed it.3 points

Thanks for your reply @Lukeand @FrostBytei will need to download and install the latest version then thanks for your advice2 points

Hi. As a general rule, any time you use a structure that is outside of our suggestions - even if it happens to work - it is very likely to break at some point in the future. Sorry I cannot provide anything more specific than that because it would come down to very specific conditions of each individual case (and these conditions could change over time).2 points

Guys, we really have to push to get the trailers improved, the quality we're getting within a paid option just isn't satisfactory any longer, we shouldn't have to use work arounds. I know the app isn't your life, but you have a paid service that's not working as is should. I have to be honest, I've looked at other request and issues, they often say "we're working on it" but not many ever has a resolution. Its been over a year for the Emby Premiere trailer issue and there doen't appear to be any improvement, yet it remains included in the Emby (Paid) Premiere service. Please make this a priority (We're paying for it) or remove it from the premiere servece and drop the price $1 monthly. I don't think we're asking for too much, many have been paying for a service for over a year that isn't 100%. 480p trailer quality shouldn't be a paid service. I think the Emby premiere service should be looked at as a priority, its not just the quality that has issues. If I set the app on to only show trailers for New and Upcoming in Theaters I still see trailers for movies in my Library. Guys, please take the paid service more seriously and make sure its working as advertised. We've been asking for this to be resolved for too long. Thanks2 points

Just remember to also add you Lan network range in there too. Other wise you might not be able to login with your lan connection. Here is my lan network config. Wireguard Lan 10.253.0.0/24 192.168.1.0/24 10.253.0.0/24, 192.168.1.0/242 points

I managed to get back in. I used the manual login option. Still a weird thing to happen.2 points

@@Luke stated in a previous post (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/49933-replaygain-music-support/) adding support for this could easily be done for at least the theater client seeing as the player used already supports replaygain. I'm making this feature request in hopes that this support is added, as I have no dev experience myself1 point

Hi! Have been using and following emby for a number of years now. I think it would be great if there was a "Find Duplicate Media" function which would show possible duplicates and allow you to pick the one that you wish to keep and delete any other duplicate(s). This would be great when you are upgrading your library from DVD to Blueray's of your favorite films. Let me know what you think? Nas1 point

Sometime ago the controls changed when using the standard Microsoft IR Media Center Remote. This started a month or 2 ago, maybe coinciding with the release of the 4.8.x.x server release? Previously the controls were as shown in red, but now they no longer function, with the exception of Fwd 30s, that will work ONCE & ONLY once. Now the controls are as shown in blue. Why did this change, there has been no update to Emby Theater in that time (3.0.20) and I would have thought this would be governed by the app and not the server? This is happening on two separate machines with the same remote on both. Is there a way to revert to how it was? I have 10 years of muscle memory for the 'red' control setup.1 point

Zidoo has a line of four new boxes coming out using the Amlogic S928X-K processor. Thanks @Audiomixerfor giving me a heads-up as I was about to buy the one of the current models. On their webpage they mention some sort of support for mounting and streaming from several services with Emby's logo listed. Not sure exactly what that entails though. Pic from OS Here's a link to the base model. If you have a nice sound system you may be interested in one of the 3 upper models. https://www.zidoo.tv/Product/index/model/Z9X+8K/target/UXVVvon[ld]QlVKKmVViAFMcQ%3D%3D.html Also, if interested there is a long thread in the Zidoo forum with someone who already has a couple of the new models and has been very good at answering questions. You can preorder from Futeko now or wait and they usually end up on Amazon eventually.1 point

BTW, I don't think it justifies opening a new topic, but it would also be brilliant to see "album duration", "codec info" or "composer" on the now playing screen. Also, a big compliment - I've done a fair amount of hifi streamers reviews and am familiar with most apps and most, if not all, music players for Android and Windows - and Emby it's the first one for Android that has a brilliant "now playing" screen with the screen on the left and the playlist on the right, with the option of having "backdrops" on the background (Symfonium is great too in Portrait mode with a large cover but no queue info). It wasn't easy to edit all my music collection to fit Emby's, but it looks amazing. Congrats!1 point

@FSmoker- here is an excerpt from my thread over at Serverbuilds: That's my current server I built for $315 and I learned a lot along the way. That machine right now is streaming 1080p TV show to my daughter while I am re-encoding old AVI's to MKV. My daughter has absolutely no clue that anything is going on. No hiccups, sound clipping, nor halting playback. A properly configured Emby and a modest piece of hardware will absolutely kick ass.1 point

Oh well. It was worth asking. I guess that when I create collections I need to strive to remember to set the sort order i want. It is actually just one more thing that i "should" remember but will ultimately forget when it matters.1 point
-
Thanks. I suspected that but i was not completely sure. Can you answer the second question about changing the default sort order for the creation of collections? I really do not much like having any defaults that cannot be changed.1 point

No updates yet, devs are working with OS. But personally have seen it work and stop working and work again in the last 18 hours.1 point

Hi, Luke Many thanks for the reply. It would be GREAT if you could add both those features in a feature update, I would be very thankful Cheers,1 point

HI, these features just haven't been added to DLNA yet but it's something we can look at. Thanks for reporting.1 point

That's a good point I didn't think about future updates when considering changing my structure only current build. Had completely overlooked something basic. Appreciate the insight1 point

I appreciate your response but I already know all of this. I've been using emby for years and for various reasons, all small but numerous, the complex folder sorting suits our needs better than the built in tools. My question wasn't about how I can do this easier - I know easier ways - but if doing it this way will cause damage to my server in significant ways instead of superficial ones. Like I said i've been doing it like this for years and didn't even realize it was technically outside what its programmed to do, so on learning this I wanted to find out if I should pivot to another method or if deciding I could live with the superficial bugs was an option. It was a technical question for anyone who knows how the program works under the hood better than I. Not a question of not knowing how to utilize the GUI and functions of the application. I'm just not a programmer and may not understand what nesting structures are doing under the hood I cant see. Again I appreciate you taking your time even tho its not what I'm looking for. Have a great day.1 point

I completely agree! If you don't have a solution ready, at least let us know from time to time what you are doing to resolve this and at what options you're looking at. To be honest the way this is being handled is quite questionable for a feature you advertise and ask people to pay for!1 point

Hey there guys, trying to revive this FR, as I was just suggesting the same thing over here: If anybody else would like to see the feature let's boost this original FR here1 point

Hi, there's already an open request for this or something functionally equivalent. Please join in and contribute to the existing discussion at: In the meantime, you can check out Reports plugin as per:1 point

This time it worked. Maybe it didnt stop the first time cause the task was also started before 3 in the morning and somehow not linked to the time schedule? I will monitor this further but for the moment I am fine1 point

Just download the SDK, it's included, only the doc pages don't mention it (yet).1 point

HI, yes we are looking into this and hope to have this resolved in a 4.8.X maintenance release. Thanks.1 point

Thanks. You got me thinking about why it might be doing this as it's already set to the iGPU in the BIOS. One setting that was changed was the power mode which potentially set the power option for "Turn the display off after" to 5 minutes. I've since set it to never and will see if this changes the behaviour.1 point

tried the [dedicated rpi5 image](https://github.com/MediaBrowser/emby-theater-electron/releases/download/3.0.21/emby-theater_3.0.21_rpi5b.img.xz) and it works great! thank you!1 point

There are many other ways to sort content in Emby that don't involve using a complex folder structure for storage. One of the things you mention is multiple Genres. Sorting libraries by genre is in a way - spending a lot of time doing what Emby does for you automatically. It also creates a bit of a mess when you have multiple genres. (as you have seen) By year or decade or era, is a great way to sort libraries. Pick that era library, and go the genres tab, and boom, all sorted. Then movies show up in multiple genres, but not multiple listings elsewhere. If you really want - add Tags, or Genres, to your metadata yourself and add granularity of sorting that way - way, way, simpler than trying to sort it all yourself on that level. Plus you can create collections like "QuitetheCatches Favorite Horror" etc. I guess the short form is, this is that the media server and metadata make an easier way of sorting for viewing than complex nested directories ever can. Big simple libraries that sort by type and what you want to allow users access to - and then use meta to sort is far easier to deal with in the end IMO.1 point

I just run a quick test and yes, seems be listed in Kodi if you add the restriction tags after you synced the content. If the tags are added before sync it's correct. Unfortunately, there is nothing I could do about it form plugin side. This needs some improvements on Emby server side. @Luke 1. Websocket and Kodi companion should report restricted content as deleted/removed items. 2. Even if the plugin missed that sync for some reason, Emby server should check the permissions also on each video feed request. 3. I think it's not just related to restriction tags, could be the same on ratings restrictions (only) as well.1 point

and jellystat with emby support is out. docker only. it looks pretty neat so far1 point

You shouldn't have to reset the hub every time. Normally just going to Apps...Settings and then deleting the old version of Emby before plugging in the usb will do the trick. On rare occasions I've seen where that didn't work and people had to reset the hub to make their TV stop thinking there was a previous version already loaded. This needs to be done every 30 days though as Luke mentioned.1 point
-
Hi, if you go the USB route then yes you need to install the latest version every 30 days. This is not an Emby requirement but is due to Samsung expiring the USB builds after 30 days.1 point

Very glad to see Synology upgraded Emby server directly to 4.8.8. Now it's up to date until 4.9. lol. Thanks for your efforts.1 point

Check your syntax, it works fine for me: openssl pkcs12 -export -passout pass:'' -out pkcs12test.pfx -inkey <path to>/privkey.pem -in <path to>/fullchain.pem From openssl man page: Pass Phrase Options Several commands accept password arguments, typically using -passin and -passout for input and output passwords respectively. These allow the password to be obtained from a variety of sources. Both of these options take a single argument whose format is described below. If no password argument is given and a password is required then the user is prompted to enter one: this will typically be read from the current terminal with echoing turned off. Note that character encoding may be relevant, please see passphrase-encoding(7). pass:password The actual password is password. Since the password is visible to utilities (like 'ps' under Unix) this form should only be used where security is not important. env:var Obtain the password from the environment variable var. Since the environment of other processes is visible on certain platforms (e.g. ps under certain Unix OSes) this option should be used with caution. file:pathname The first line of pathname is the password. If the same pathname argument is supplied to -passin and -passout arguments then the first line will be used for the input password and the next line for the output password. pathname need not refer to a regular file: it could for example refer to a device or named pipe. fd:number Read the password from the file descriptor number. This can be used to send the data via a pipe for example. stdin Read the password from standard input.1 point

I don't think you can specify passout that early in the command, you definitely can't put it before pkcs12. Try putting it at the end instead.1 point

+1 to this. I run Channels in parallel because of the Dynamic Channel Collections. It's super convenient - moreover it helps drastically reduce the amount of channels I need to navigate to arrive at my final selection.1 point
