Understood, and apologies for thread-jacking. Google has been rapidly changing features that have been breaking things like your plugin, yt-dlg, SmartTube, SponsorBlock, etc lately. Clearly they're bent on increasing revenues, decreasing costs, or both and are expending resources to make this more difficult. Right now the cat is winning, but mice always find a way to get their cheese! The purpose of my post was to make sure some of them don't die trying!

Hi Fillidill I've just found your work great job. I did find a little issue when using Edge, its fine in firefox. But as you can see the video and audio detail are cut. It does it on everything.

I mean if you want them to be transcoded faster, because realistically it's not going to be almost instant anyway, then you would need to go with latest and greatest generation Ada cards. The P2000 is Pascal and the 1660 is Turing so it -should- have faster transcoding performance but I don't have any concrete evidence to support that. Buy the best card you can afford that fits in your chassis and you have power budget for, it's going to be a lot faster than CPU encode either way.

I'm a plex life time member, but I have been using Emby for over six years continuously, but there is a feature which I have always thought is missing in Emby which I would like and encourage the developer to consider including especially in this dispensation where families can social or commingle due to COVID 19. Today, I received a notification from Plex about it new feature titled Watch together you can read about it here https://support.plex.tv/articles/watch-together/ The feature allows friends and families at distance to watch same movies together instantly, you simply invite all your buddy, once they signed to the system which can be seeing in the server then play and pause as needed, this I think is cool feature should be added to emby. Similar to this old post, I'm suggesting a tab that would be titled Watchlist and could be placed in between Suggestions and Favorites. The functionality would pretty much be a copy of Favorites, just with a + symbol added next to the heart and other symbols that let you favorite a movie etc. The previous post had mentioned extra functionality such as automatically removing a movie from Watchlist after it has been watched. This would be nice, but is unnecessary because after watching a movie you can simply click the + symbol a second time to remove it from Watchlist. I would imagine this would be very easy to implement as a rebranded copy of Favorites. Adding other features could come later. Edit: added link to old post

Pretty simple suggestion. I have multiple users for my Emby server. If I want to do continuous maintenance on the media, I have to tell everyone. some of them are harder to reach than others ( i.e. no Facebook or Skype chat etc. ) It would be great if say... on the admin panel, I could hit a check box that enables 'maintenance mode', where the server still runs does everything as normal, but instead of the login screen it displays a maintenance page saying the server is unavailable. Even better if I were able to directly put a reason in a text box that would then display on the login screen as well. Not really sure what others would think of this, but for me it would be quite helpful. mostly if I want to make sure no one is trying to access content I know won't work until I've done a full library scan again. It would be great if i could set the server to delete certain shows after a user has watched it. I happen to watch "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report", everyday, and with "News"ish type shows, there is no need to keep the episodes around. So i would like to set MB to auto delete those 2 shows, 3 days after one user has watched it.

I've been dying to know if this has garnered enough interest to be worked on. I found Emby (MediaBrowser 3 at the time) and its bookshelf plugin while I was searching for something that was like Plex for comics. Plex doesn't do this (and probably never will), Kodi doesn't have what I'm looking for either, and ComicRack seems to be dead at the moment. Unfortunately the bookshelf plugin doesn't work the way I had hoped. I was dissappointed to see it only offer a download to the file to which I can open it to the program of my choosing. Even browsing through the books I only had the option of going through folder-like directories and couldn't browse by author like the people section in the other media types. I would love for it to be fully integrated into Emby where I can open and read a comic right on my phone and tablet or even my web browser as I could with my movies and tv shows. Also, I hope to god somone is working on the "Games launching in android" feature you mentioned on your up-for-grabs blog post. That would be awesome!

Ok, ignore my comments. Just realized my wireguard VPN (used to route DNS through AGH) was still on when I turned off wifi and data on the phone to test offline functionality. With the VPN turned off Emby loaded almost instantly. Carry on.

First issue appears related to this Emby code .emby-select-wrapper-inline-disabled as disabling it resolves the alignment issue. @fillidill

Just found this as I had a similar request. Would it be possible to just make this configurable on our side? I've found the Audience rating to be more accurate to what I actually like, than the critic score. Thanks Emby team. Y'all rule!

I am using the desktop app on macOS and also found the font size are too small to be used on a MacBook Pro M3 (15"). I tried the TV mode but here the font size is too large, and the UI is also not convenient to be used on a laptop with a mouse. Being able to set a scaling factor would be really nice! I can open a new issue if you prefer.

Ok - found it, thank you. Unfortunately I had only been looking (as admin user) under server Settings -> Users. Didn't realize such settings were user configurable, provided access had been granted, although that makes sense!

Thanks for the helpful advice. I've converted the offending files, which didn't take as long as I'd feared. Using Original Quality the replacements are a lot smaller than the originals too.

@Happy2Playofficially I don't support Firefox as I don't use it myself but from time to time I take a quick peek. It seems that I missed that one I've now added the fix to below update. I also re-made the volume solution so maybe that works better for you guys who had problems. Regarding PIP. This seems to be from vanilla Emby and not from me. In Firefox there is a built in PIP browser button on videos (the one seen in your screen) so I think that is why Luke and the gang may have hidden the vanilla Emby button for it. Don't think I can control the placement of the Firefox one. Emby-Stable-style-v3.3.txt

HI, yes we are constantly working on adding new features to the Emby Apple TV app. It is updated quite frequently.

I have been trying to get used to it not showing missing episodes but it is a real pain! I have read all the reasons for removing it, which seem fairly lame. I used to just go into a series and any episodes that had come out but not in emby would show on the screen. Now I have to go into the "menu of each show, scroll down, click show missing, wait......., scroll to the bottom because it shows all the old series episodes that I have deleted, only to find the next episode has not been released yet! What a pain, it was SO GOOD before, no waiting just look and you could see if there were any missing episodes! I do wish you wouldn't just remove good stuff from the software or at least leave an option so peaople can turn it back on.

hello i would like to know if theres any way (or plugin) to add "news" so the users can see it on the front page, or at least custom notification. Example of usage : i fixed a subtitles that was wrong and i want to let users know it was fixed. Also, one more question, is it possible to add a "report a problem" on each movie playing? So users can report if theres an audio/subtitle problem on a title? I use emby for my family and we are not all in the same house, so this features could be great to avoid "whatsapp spam" xD Thanks

A lot of times i want to give updates to kids. Even having a scrolling message. Tell them about their fav movies or series or tell them about a movie they must watch or DONT BE LATE FOR SUNDAY BRUNCH OR ILL SEND MOM AFTER YOU! since all my kids are grown now. This is something I do to keep us all close still for the most part. I have so many apps to keep in touch with kids. skype for video calls on computer, snapchat for cellphones, sometimes we even do movie days. where at the same exact time we all watch the same movie lol its great i love my kids

if that's the case, there is no point in perusing this further.. i thought maybe it was something simple that i was doing wrong.. i'll stick with the DHCP for now.. i plan on moving from trueNAS CORE to SCALE before the end of the year anyways.. EMBY on CORE will be my temp for the next 6months.. thank you @Luke

Und das hat dann jetzt funktioniert ✌ I deleted the file and updated the server to the new 4.9.0.26 beta. Then I added the file again and ran the chapter scanner again. And now it worked Thank you ✌

Yes, you are right. I remember I had to do that the first time when visiting the page from my browser. I guess Emby server doesn't have cert setup so it threw the error. However, I just found out why I didn't see the error before but now, because I reloaded my channels from M3U file but forgot to check "Allow mapping to guide data using channel numbers", which caused none of my channels are mapped to Emby guide hence logos are not loading from Emby guide but from the original M3U file instead. then these SSL errors start popping out. And is Plex Direct Playing them also? Without specific methods it is impossible to say and may need Transcoding for the defective encoded method. Potentially need logs also.

@fillidillI doubt you even look at Firefox. But it requires its own variables is some cases as width: -webkit-fill-available; is not compatible so you need to add width: -moz-available. @PinkMellow Only looked at this specific issue as there is a different issue with the PIP button. Looks to be independent of Emby buttons as Emby button is hidden.

Arghhh, found it. It was on the Docker parameters from the first screenshot. Is not using PUID/PGID, but UID/GID. It was picking the wrong user and not the ones with the permissions.

As in the past the parameter "orignal aspect ration" was included in the metadata editor and was saved into the nfo's. I would like to have it again. It will be recognized from KODI and all skins when the parameter is another as "1.78:1" It is very useful to set manually if you have a compressed copy of a videofile which has not the aspect ratio saved in the metadata of the container. It looks like I'm able to add tiles to the notification panel, but that doesn't really help users who don't have access to the dash. The popup only happens when the command to send it is triggered. I suppose the plugin could keep track of user login events "sessions/userid" and then keep track of what it sent and to whom in the configuration. Is that the path to take? If so I will continue to experiment.
