  2. @Happy2PlayOmg...It was AVG's Advanced Firewall this whole time! I can't figure out how to create the Exception for it, it's not as simple as just choosing the program to allow, it wants the address and port and stuff. I'm just going to leave it off for now. Thank you both for all of your help I greatly appreciate it. Idk why the avg firewall seemed to work fine with it then not randomly, but I'm just letting windows defender do its thing for now lol

  3. Nevermind, performed server reboot and device reboot and it's working fine now. Thanks (problem was affecting only ACC multichannel audio tracks)

  5. it's kind of a pain to convert iso into mkv depending on the dvd type or genre it is. normal movies are pretty straight forward but workout dvds or anything similar with lot's of chapters and video files can be nerve-wracking. I've given up hoping that good ISO playback will ever come. However, I have now realised that I no longer miss these DVDs that much anyway. The quality of DVDs is miserable. Not even Full HD ...., which gives you eye cancer anyway.

  7. Yes but I believe EBR expalined that in regards to the HLS stream, it is/was still not possible with AV1. HEVC is a totally different codec. Using it as a reason to beleive that AV1 will work is like asking "why can't I put petrol in my Tesla? It's a car, and all cars run on petrol" The fact Plex is also having a serious problem, with the amount of resources they have, should tell you that it's not a problem with the software, but with the video codec itself. Again I would just process my files before adding them to my server. Many of us already go through the process of cutting out redundant audio and sub tracks, or even re-encoding things to save space prior to adding them to our servers.

  8. Slow Horses, How did I miss this... Prob because I don't sub to Apple TV.. What a gem of a TV show. I'm originally from the UK and this show tick's all the boxes for me. Remember CI5 (The Professionals) lol.. (Bodie & Doyle). This show has a layer of dark comedy (which I love).

  9. Here is the next round of answers from our Emby Q&A session. The feedback from our previous blog post was exciting to see from all of you, and we are excited to share even more answers. The next round of questions and answers will be released next week as well! 1) What are some of the future goals of Emby? Emby wants to continue to grow and be the best media server option available for our users. We hope to move to a quicker release schedule than in previous iterations that is both more efficient from a development standpoint and exciting for our users. We love what we do here at Emby and we want our users and potential users to see that! 2) Would the Emby team ever consider moniterary "bounties" to help offset the development cost. We have actually seen this question a lot lately. We do not believe that this is the best way to decide what goes into development for a few reasons. First and foremost, we do not want people who have more money than others to decide what goes into production while others who may not be able to afford to donate or contribute go unheard. 3) How does the Emby team decide on what's next for Emby? The answer to this is deeper than most people probably think. Feature requests is one place that we look at to form our roadmap of future goals. Sometimes it's as simple as user feedback that something is not working as intended or could be implemented in an easier way to use etc. Other times our development staff has ideas based on industry trends as well as their own experience that they believe should be implemented. We take all of that and as a team decide what should be added and when. 4) In what areas can Emby improve? We as a team are always seeking to improve. We fully acknowledge that as a small company we are sometimes stretched "thin" but we do our best to always be both proactive and reactive with all of you. As mentioned above we hope to move to a quicker release schedule with a more agile methodology that allows us do so. We think we do a pretty great job at communication with everyone here on the forums, but we continue to strive to be even better here as well. Being able to give more flushed out answers and as much information as we can. Our goal is to always continue improving. View the full article

  10. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Cinema Mode used to select a trailer randomly from all your trailers, but Luke changed that so now it selects a random trailer from movies that are "related" to the current movie. Can an option be added to go back to the old behavior? I liked the incongruity of having a trailer from a completely different type of movie show. Plus it helps me remember movies I've added.

  11. Completely disagree. If I am watching a Batman film I don't need to see 5 or more trailers for more or less the same movie. Or for example Godzilla or James Bond or Star Trek. Ect......... I don't need to see multiple trailers for the same type of movie. That's not useful to me at all. Plus we already have the "More Like This" on the movie view page. 100% agreed.

  12. It should be an option. I would prefer completely random trailers.

  17. Grand, I'll come back to it tomorrow. I see anyway there's going to be a 4.8.5 so I can wait. Thanks Luke

  18. Right OK. that's just because the check isn't docker-specific. For most platforms the update check is platform-specific, just not Docker. So that means there could be a small gap of a few hours of when it says an update is available until it actually is.

  22. ..another WIN for EMBY.. the support team here is AMAZING.. with plex; maybe..maybe the next day you would get an answer...

  23. Thanks! That was what I was hoping for. I just was worried that it might somehow screwup the library. I am paranoid! But am I paranoid enough? I am glad that Emby handles this kind of weirdness in a reasonable manner. If I should notice anything abnormal i will report back but I do not think there will be any reason. I also have a few where there is one multi part file and one single file that is included in the multi part. Like: s01e08e12 and s01e11 I suspect that I will get two entries there as well but it is much easier to fix as simply deleting the single file would correct things.

  25. This fixed finally a somewhat vague issue around my EPG en TV-recordings, etc. in Emby update 4.8.4.0 (double EPG entries and thus issues chosing the correct one, recordings not starting, etc., this now seems to be fixed!), especially in Emby WMC ui, this was very anoying and disturbing: thanks very much for fixing it! Grtz, Peter

  26. HI, apologies for the disruption. Replacement builds are currently uploading so please redownload the release from our website, install, and you should be good to go. We'll also do a 4.8.5 this weekend to ensure everyone gets notified of the fix. Thanks.

  27. Exactly. If everything is on the local network then remote access isn't needed.

  29. @tonywoolf @rekit I've reuploaded the release for Synology 7.2 x64. Can you try that and see if it resolves it? Thanks.

  30. As an FYI I've been testing this today and it looks like with the option disabled when I added media (10 episodes) instead of getting a notification as each item was being added it sent all 10 at the same time for each individual episode when it was done, and with it enabled (added 24 episodes) I received one notification which said 24 items were added to the series

  31. Looks like the same issue as Synology eventhough you are on QNAP so nothing is getting probed. /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/EmbyServer/bin/ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: libOpenCL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Have to wait on devs or the package builder.

  32. Okay I didn't think the error about deleting the temp folder really meant anything. Looks like this is a problem with transcoding the ASS subs, but it might be doing something that you can only see with some debug options enabled. If you have the Diagnostics Plugin installed try setting the trasncoding log level to debug information, hit save, reproduce the issue and provide the logs. Otherwise my recommendation is to get some SRT subs for this and you should be able to watch it just fine, those don't need to be burned in to the video. That's how it works when transcoding, it creates a "playlist" of TS files and it reads from the playlist, requesting TS segments when needed.

  33. Ups, I fixed it. .19 is stable abnd .20 is beta. But you can try 10.X, the issue should be solved by this version. Usually public testing has no major bugs in standard functionalities. Only new added features are not too good tested.
    1 point
  34. Will be backported yes. As you are on stable version you need to wait a couple of weeks for such minor fixes. Actually it's quite an edge case therefore not urgent. Rollout follows 1. public testing 2. beta 3. stable ...unless it's a showstopper.

  35. I've had simular issues, but after updating this morning to EMBY v4.8.4.0, with 'fix duplicate live tv views', it seems to have solved my problems. For some months already, in my live-TV EPG, several TV channels had double entries, chosing a certian channel or program, gave me the impression that there were 2 entries, and I thus maybe didn't always choose the correct one and thus the recording failed: maybe Luke or somebody else can eleborate more details about this issue ? I hope, this helps you solving your no-recordings ? Thnx & best regards, Peter

  36. I’m a little late here but I would also suggest (as some above have) keeping it basic here. Start with Debian 12, when you install it it will give you the option to install one or more of the fallowing desktops/options: Source I don’t Recommend GNOME (ugly and clunky out of the box but after a lot of customization is OK (it’s the Ubuntu default) puke!). Cinnamon is the simplest for beginners but MATE isn’t so bad either. I prefer KDE Plasma (more advanced). (Note you can install none if you wish and pick others later from other sources) (also you can also add Proxmox to this later (excellent for VM’s LXC’s etc.) But your best friend for Linux is the terminal (be it launched from the desktop or via ssh). Before you start (if your still waiting or not for the HW) look for info on the following Linux topics on youtube or articles: directory structure permissions systemd SMB(Samba)/NFS

  39. @Luke Hi Luke, My apologize for waking kind a old post. I've been keeping up with the latest iOS app, installing the latest version, 2.2.17, however the problem still remains. I would appreciate if you take a look on this if you have a capacity.....

  40. Hi @Luke, there might be some confusion here. I don't have a particular technical problem that needs solving at this time. I was just posting a reply to what was said previously, especially regarding the plugin situation, since that's what most users, especially the non-technical ones, will see and try to get to work first —i.e. the "push-button" solution.

  42. I have the VERY slow loading of pictures on the LG Emby app as well. Some pictures it will load just fine, then every few it takes a very long time to load starting from the top of the image. So slow that would think it was coming down from Prodigy on a 2400Baud modem. If I have it set on a slide-show it will often take so long to load an image that the timer will have expired by the time the image loads and it is already moving on to the next image. I have tested this on 2 other devices one with a Roku Ultra on the same LG TV and one with a pretty old Roku built in on a TCL TV and both of those load just fine. It only seems to be affecting the Emby app on the LG WebOS. A side note, and a annoyance that may have nothing to do with the Emby app but the slideshow does not prevent the TV from going into it's screen-saver mode, which you would think it would given that there is constant activity on the screen, though perhaps that has something to do with how long it is taking to load the pictures.

  43. I am testing a selfhosted repository that I created for emby. I took @Geckoscript, and modified it for my needs, It just checks for updated binaries, downloads them and puts them into the repo. At the moment it only supports the i386/amd64 releases of emby. I will add the others by due time. I created two releases, one for stable and one for beta. echo 'deb https://repo.amhosting.de/ubuntu beta main' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/emby.list or echo 'deb https://repo.amhosting.de/ubuntu stable main' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/emby.list The Repository is signed with the following Key : 3B6E90FE3203A81F Import it : curl -fsSl https://repo.amhosting.de/repo-key.pub | gpg --dearmor -o /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/repo.amhosting.gpg After that you should be able to install emby with sudo apt install emby-server This Repo also works for all Debian based systems.
