  1. Best ! The logo from themoviedb was 12000 pixel width. After removing it the series has no more problems and is much faster on the other TVs. Maybe you should introduce a maximum size for picture. Thx and best

  2. It's both - HDMI 2.0 is not capble of playing of playing 4K@120fps. So even if the Shield could play L6 profiles - which it cannot - then HDMI would not allow it anyway. If you look at your mediainfo output that I asked for for originally, you will see that even 30 fps is written as an L6 profile. This is totally unnecessary and is the reason why they are failing because the Shield does not support this profile. This looks a bug to me on the GoPro firmware - it should be recording 4K 30 or 60fps as L5.0 or 5.1 - both of which the shield supports.

  3. From a metadata standpoint you are better off individually as I doubt they will align in a specific order. But many need to compare what each provider has as TVDB breaks them down by year. Looney Tunes - TheTVDB.com Discussed here

  4. I'm a plex life time member, but I have been using Emby for over six years continuously, but there is a feature which I have always thought is missing in Emby which I would like and encourage the developer to consider including especially in this dispensation where families can social or commingle due to COVID 19. Today, I received a notification from Plex about it new feature titled Watch together you can read about it here https://support.plex.tv/articles/watch-together/ The feature allows friends and families at distance to watch same movies together instantly, you simply invite all your buddy, once they signed to the system which can be seeing in the server then play and pause as needed, this I think is cool feature should be added to emby. Let's here your though if Emby developer should consider adding this feature to our beloved Emby Media https://www.bing.com/news/search?q=Plex+Watch+Together&qpvt=plex+watch+together&FORM=EWRE

  5. Hi Volks, I don't know if there is already an article on this, at least I haven't found one. I have a Proxmox server with an inbuilt Intel 630 GPU. I will show you here how you can activate the hardware acceleration for it. !! This is how it works for me. There are probably better ways, but this is the way it works for me I installed Emby with the LXC script from tteck (https://github.com/tteck) thanks for your work! https://tteck.github.io/Proxmox/ If you install Emby via the script and are on the emby interface, you still have to make a few settings on Proxmox and the LXC container itself. 1. switch to your Proxmox instance and execute the following command: nano /etc/modprobe.d/i915.conf enter the following there: options i915 enable_guc=3 and save the file. 2. reboot Proxmox 3. Still in the Proxmox instance, execute this command nano /etc/pve/lxc/105.conf (You must adapt 105 to your LXC container!!) Copy the following lines into the last position lxc.cgroup2.devices.allow: c 226:0 rwm lxc.cgroup2.devices.allow: c 226:128 rwm lxc.mount.entry: /dev/denderD128 dev/dri/renderD128 none bind, optional, create=file save the file. 4. Still in the Proxmox shell, execute this command: chmod -R 777 /dev/dri/* 5. Now switch to the shell of the Emby LXC container add the Emby user to the groups: usermod -aG video emby usermod -aG input emby usermod -aG render emby 6. Restart your emby server And here you go!

  6. We need a way to distinguish editions (theatrical, director's cut, colorized, etc), technical versions (different resolution, different audio encoding, etc), and different language versions. I like the screen shots DarkStar1977 included in their last post. I don't know how messy the implementation would be.

  7. Not necessarily as both Plex and Emby have modified Exoplayer. Plex couldn't always play outside the boundaries of the video either as this subject has been brought up before. I would add a post to the FR section if that's something you want Emby to look into because there may be others. I'm with @GrimReaper though. They aren't "broken" now as all my UHD play within the video when I stick them into my disc player. I have subtitles on all the time and the further your eyes are from the center to read subtitles the more you miss of the actual picture. Options are always nice though.

  11. Can I suggest a similar approach to Plex Multiple versions support ? Plex allow to have different versions of one movie and does not matter wich one you've in the screen shows at the bottom the other available versions: This allow to navigate from one version to another having all them linked instead are not in the same folder, but most important, have different metadata and pictures for each one, for example: It's just an idea ....

  13. That would make for quite a nice Emby server. The quadro p400 won't be of much use. Don't make the mistake that many new to Linux do and go for YouTuber distros. Unless you have a specific known reason to deviate then stick with major distros and current products. Cinnamon is the more current desktop and likely has better support for your HTPC needs. But if you run into dead ends then by all means try other things.

  14. Investigating a bit further, it is more likely that the ATV view is correct with square images and the web app should be displaying them square as well. For now I've removed this change in ATV to force them to portrait and have left them as they are in your screen. Let's review this issue after the next server update and see how they compare.

  15. Hello there, As I've been using Emby for a while now, and I'm thoroughly enjoying its features for managing and streaming my media collection. However, I'm eager to explore further and enhance my experience with some plugins. I've heard there's a wide range available, but I'm not sure where to start. Could anyone recommend some must-have plugins that could take my Emby experience to the next level? I'm particularly interested in plugins that offer additional functionalities such as improved metadata management, subtitle support, or maybe even some fun extras like themed skins or advanced playback options. https://www.reddit.com/r/emby/comments/178hktb/how_to_plugins_work_with_emby_which_ones_do_you/info Additionally, if you have any personal favorites or hidden gems that you think deserve more recognition, I'd love to hear about them. Any tips on how to best utilize these plugins would be greatly appreciated as well. Thankyou in advance.

  16. II removed the poster on LiveTV, so it no longer shows the black shadow, and LiveTV cannot generate the poster either. I think I should download some posters from the Emby plug-in Fan Art to customize My Media. Thank you so much for spending your time. I highly appreciate it.

  17. Update: The issue has been resolved - it was a router issue. Sorry for messing up the post.

  18. @hedeusCan you please retest with updated plugin 1.4.9. If it has not already updated you may have to restart your server for the task to pull the update.

  23. Sounds like you have good reasons to not interrupt the status quo. And as Q-Droid said, the learning curve to get it up and running in Linux could take some time. I also worked in IT, but made the transition from Windows to Linux while on the job so switching my desktop and my Emby PC to Linux was less of a climb, but well worth it as some of my hardware is aging out of the Windows realm (won't run Win 11). I think Q-Droid has a great idea, pick up a used PC and install Linux on it. Get to know how to do things in it as some functions are wildly different than Windows, starting with users, folder / file permissions, mounting local drives, mapping network drives, and a lot more. Aside from that, I recommend Linux Mint, mainly because I like the ease of use it provides. Since it is based on Ubuntu, there are more than enough answers that apply to it through a google search.

  24. WAF is usually high on the list. If you jump in there will be downtime. If your Win box is truly an HTPC it can take a long time to replicate that on Linux, if ever. With your background you know exactly what it's like to have someone over your shoulder asking if it's working yet.

  25. If you happen to have a second machine laying around try Linux on that one. You can reuse your Emby premiere key on multiple servers. Then when you feel confident enough make the switch if you think it's worth doing. Linux is a tool, not a religion.

  26. Whatever you were intending with getting it back up and running, really.

  27. No progress I'm afraid - life comes before emby - I can't promise anything at the moment I'm afraid. Just being realistic. (but to be clear, the ability to exclude a TV Show has always been in the Plugin - I believe you are referring to other functionality yes ?)

  29. Hi! I'm very new to Emby and the world of downloading and hosting media in general, so please bear with me. My question is: is there a way for me to have, for example, English and Japanese subtitles playing at the same time for a show I'm watching via Emby? This would be helpful as my partner is Japanese and would have an easier time understanding the show, and I'm also attempting to learn while watching as well. My understanding of the way subtitles work is that they're, in most cases, a separate file that plays along with the media. Is there any way in Emby to play multiple at the same time (although I guess configuration would need to be done so that the text doesn't overlap), or properly combine them? Thank you!

  30. Personally would never want them outside the bounds/in black area. I find that horrendous solution. Guess it all boils down to user preference, I just hope that it'll never get implemented in Emby.

  31. hi! From 2018 to 2024, we're still waiting for ios clients and Android clients to do the same, such as hiding the Navigation Items TAB that users don't want to see. If this is not a big problem, I hope it can be added to the development plan in the near future.

  32. This may be more of a plugin, but I saw this and thought it was really interesting. Plex integrated this one. Any thoughts to making this an official feature request? https://chronolists.com/

  33. Looks cool, but their product appears to be specifically tied to the Plex infrastructure/platform. It'd be nice if they could just offer up links to JSON files, a REST API, or some other useful format.

  34. This would be a really awesome request if possible. We are a multilingual family and I read in English and my family members Chinese with no way for them to understand without this

  35. The funny thing is that no-one thought about this when developing an application for organising media.....

  36. The biggest advantage of MySQL and equivalent databases that I would see is the possibility of a proper query cache for any kind of item lists like the dashboard latest items (which take 10+ seconds on my setup), collections, playlists etc. rather than the page cache of sqlite which needs to recalculate those rarely changing query results repeatedly. Another advantage would be the possibility of creating materialized views of any time taking queries, so whenever the items change, it takes very little time to update the results.

  37. When back home, I'll do an export and see what it's at... Responsiveness is still fairly ok though
    1 point
  38. *grin* Yup. If most Emby users would have library sizes in your range, then SqLite would clearly be a sub-optimal choice..
    1 point
  39. Simply put, a single internal database is the predominant limiting factor for scalability. That was my primary concern, not performance. I would love to run Emby in my kubernetes cluster but currently cannot do so.
    1 point
  40. mysql is a much better database than sqlite. Can bring higher performance and stability.

  41. Count me in. Most basic functionility in any organising is the subfolder, virtual or otherwise.

  44. Well I guess that "near future" turned out to be tonight. RefreshEmbyGuide.py --api_key API_KEY {--name HOSTNAME (or address) (default: localhost)} {--port PORTNUMBER (default: 8096)} or (if you don't like long argument names): RefreshEmbyGuide.py --a API_KEY {--n HOSTNAME (or address) (default: localhost)} {--p PORTNUMBER (default: 8096)} (requires Python 3.6+) RefreshEmbyGuide.py

  45. My thoughts were similar. Perhaps change collections to be internally represented with GUIDs (if this is already the case, then my bad), have a flag to indicate if a collection can be visible at the top level (can be configured within a nested collection), and unstructured fields for antecedent and dependent collection GUIDs.

  48. Auto-tune would be a better word for it yes, thanks Doofus On my TV this is what it looks like, very handy to setup a nights viewing in one go. Shall I make a feature request or as Doofus suggested tag it on to the watch while recording?
