It takes 30 seconds to convert it yourself so my question is why not just convert it to 8.1 anyway and make it a more portable format to begin with ?

Unless I'm being a bit blind (highly possible!), I'd love a way to hide a couple of the top green navigation items without hacking it in myself. For example, in Movies I don't want the 'Trailers' item to appear for any profile and for TV I don't need the 'Upcoming' nav link. I recently found a need to look up additional information on a director. I was hoping to look at the director's profile and see not only the movies I had in my collection but also a list of other movies that they have directed. This would be displayed below the library's current movies. ex: My movies: Movie 1, Movie 2 Other movies by this person: Movie 3, Movie4 ================ This could help one expand their library and to discover a missing gem.

At the moment once themes finish, silence ensues. I'd rather have the theme start playing again. It also doesn't play after the film/show, I don't think? I love having it, it approximates the mood-setting of a DVD or Blu-ray menu, and avoids horrible silences, but it shuts off too much.

Mostly pertains to m4b but I have seen tags on mp3 files that have time stamps you can jump around in too. Can pm if example needed.

Having your emby running on a VPS is probably the most versatile (and expensive). Much cheaper: Book (printed or e-reader) and maybe a flashlight?

Easy workaround for now. Would be is reconnecting to the server. When you go the user setting and select "Change Server", reselect the same server and it refreshes the library

Yes it uses inotify to detect a change in a specific folder and scan just that rather than the whole library, the interval is there to act a delay so it doesn't try to scan while you're still doing things, such as moving files around, or new files being populated.

As said, without specific example it is all speculation. I would assume your issues stem from number of libraries and their paths/folder organization/naming convention used rather than path lenghts but that's again just a guess. How to Report a Problem

I just wanted to say a thank you.. I've been using the main android app for a while, but needs to move back to the android TV app (as the live TV on the other app was causing others issues - no pause / no play from beginning etc), I noticed the TV app has been updated to be just a PIN pad, thank you for taking that feedback onboard and rolling it out. I think removing the double ok would be a good next step (maybe once 4 bytes have been answered it goes straight to the ok button and then clicking it once will either login or bounce the screen (like the other app) to indicate its wrong. Very pleased customer either way, as nice to see feedback being taken forward

If you are refering to power outages you can use a UPS (Uninteruptable Power Supply) on your server and also on your broadband router. It would take a reasonably sized UPS to keep the server up for a sustained amount of time but the router would be a smaller load. I have a battery backup on my router, not strictly a UPS but does much the same thing and a 700VA UPS on my server which allows the server to gracefully shutdown after about 15 minutes of no power. I live in a rural area and power outages are common. most are a few minutes but on the odd occasion they can be protracted. My solution is more for protection but a large UPS could keep you up and running for a considerable time and a backup generator or solar panels to recharge the UPS would make it a long(ish) term solution. If you are talking about the Zombie Apocalypse I can only reccomend a big gun and plenty of ammo

I've just gone through it again. I deleted the Emby guide source and re-added it, using postcode OX3. I'm still getting London listings instead of Oxford, and only the first dozen or so channels of that. The refresh progress bar goes only about 1/10 of the way along before the refresh finishes. Hi Luke, this problem has been solved by itself. I don't know but looking now it's all okay. I don't know if I done some refresh or what but now subtitles works as expected. I have replied in another thread though about the lack of subtitles synchronisation on AppleTV which make us not able to use Emmy on AppleTV as our solution currently anyhow. That was my hope, trying to leave Plex which has become to much all over the place nowadays. Emby is much better fit for purpose, a really great product with its web interface too. So pelare let us have subtitle sync on AppleTV too. Great work!!

Hi FancyNerd It is only supported by "Emby Theater", therefore by Windows (and Mac?). you have to setup external players and that is not possible in the "Emby" Apps or via Browser access.

Clicking "Remove from continue watching" doesn't reset the resume position. It only removes the movie/show from continue watching section on the Home page. You can reset the resume position by toggling the Played status twice which puts the movie/show back to the status it was before playing and the marker is at the beginning. So, it depends on which you want to do. Resetting/toggling the Played status will of course do both.

Wrong - I had an early demo of the app and it worked well - unfortunately, cheese has not been active on these forums for a year or so. I hope he is well, but life is always far more important than emby.

Yeah this would be nice to have again after the sunset of WMC. Never understood why this function wasn't brought over to theater.

Maybe it's a broken Visual C++ or something in windows that have been patched or corrupted. It's a longshot but I have seen stranger things than that in our server farms at work. On my emby server I have only Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (both x64 and x86) installed. I'm really not sure what emby server needs but a lot of the C++ redists are end of life so only 2013 and 2015-2022 are still active.

Not necessarily for the reasons of this post…. But the Emby team has started engaging more with users here and on other forums as to how they use their servers, what use cases etc. We are making a conscious effort to engage more and “talk” to our users.

Actually, I believe that people who don't use Live TV should have a say about whether to increase costs just for it or abandon it altogether. Some of us use it as a daily driver for our TV needs, both Live and recording, and have been using it for years. As for there being "other programs that handle Live TV", who wants to jump around from app to app to enjoy some entertainment?
