  4. @SamESI solved the problem. If i re encode the file instead of passthrough i can select .srt so what im doing is if its a certain show, I'll re encode just for the .srt & then add that file to my pass through file & if it's a show don't doesn't catch my eye ill just keep yhe re encoded file. On a side note I just received a dvd drive from Amazon that should do uhd disk. I haven't set it up yet but once I do I may ask for your help. Also i picked upbyje extension cable so I'll just ask my neighbor to help me & I'll plug the cable in. Thank you for all your help & thank you also to @Luke @FrostByte

  5. yes correct, it is a very slightly modified version of the default skin to add home screen widgets for the dynamic EmbyCon addon nodes for movies and tv shows. for first time users it makes the whole setup process very easy. but as i said i dont think there are many new users now days so i will drop the skin and dependency on it. i will release a new version of EmbyCon today with the dependancy on the skin removed.

  6. Thanks, I got the Teufel 500 Surround 5.1 + Atmos and a (slightly underpowered) Denon X2800H receiver. For 7.1, I'd need more budget and a bigger room

  7. well after reading that i am 100% informed anyway the question was - what new functionality was supposed to have been implemented that caused the the regression that now needs fixing. the answer seems to be no-one knows, and he who knows is not answering

  9. @LukeI fixed it. I accidently changed the network type in unraid. Once I switched it back to Host, Emby can now connect to the channel dvr server. .

  12. -= PLEASE UP VOTE & PROMOTE THIS REQUEST IF YOU WOULD LIKE THIS FEATURE =- DO THIS BY CLICKING THE "LIKE" BUTTON ON THIS POST REQUEST: Properly pool multiple M3u IPTV sources, so when adding more than one with the exact same M3u emby treats them as one source with however many "Concurrent Streams" you set for each. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/63725-multiple-iptv-tuners-double-channels/?p=636718 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/59607-duplicate-channels-one-tuner/?p=607031 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/57420-multiple-identical-m3u-tuners-without-duplicate-channels/?p=560949 Basically once M3u #1 has used all 5 of its tuners, I then need to start using the login info that is within M3u #2... once those 5 tuners are used (now all 10 tuners), then emby issues "no tuners available". This is how emby treats HDhomeruns today, so it can't be to difficult. @@snodrog742 @@manolodf @@robrhedrick @@cayars

  13. Everything ok now. The metadata was locked. Once unlocked, everything worked.

  14. Do you mean this: Yes, I believe that answers my question. What I am looking to do is offload files from the Emby Server virtual machine and save them on the Synology NAS where I have more space.

  16. That's okay for display but, for playback decisions, we need the core to be in charge of the information it uses for inputs.

  19. Most peeps don't report problems, I've learned that over the last 20 plus years of dealing with forums. To have six threads about the same issue is actually a lot.

  20. I would second this. I just clicked the "seen all" button on a series in the webinterface. This has happened the second time already. Last time it was a series with dozens of episodes, this time with hundreds of episodes. It's nearly impossible to undo this manually (do you still know which episodes you have seen and which not of hundreds of episodes if they aren't based on each other so you can watch them randomly?). So please, a confirmation dialogue would be veeery nice And maybe an undo function.

  23. I stand by the data I have provided for ffprobe interval timing but I don't really care when the detection happens. I can certainly understand library scanning duration is a sensitive subject. I only came here to prove it can be done in ffmpeg with the further goal that down the road the backend can make decisions on how to handle the metadata given that many clients have playback issues depending on the HDR information available.

  24. Half a dozen threads, multiple posters per thread...and once there's that many posts about it, little point piling on to say "me too". I'm personally still on .58, waiting for the issues to be resolved before I update any further.

  26. Thanks a lot, I appreciate it! I guess have to live with transcoding, just need to improve a bit server specs to make process more smooth and increase transcoding speed

  27. Thanks for the suggestions. Ideally a control would appear during playback (like CC on/off) when an EDL file is available, but this feature is likely beyond the ability of a plugin. If we hit a show that consistently does not work I'll create a custom comskip.ini but that's not been necessary so far.

  28. I've had a look at the samples you provided, and I can replicate what you are seeing. On the surface, there is nothing obviously different between the files that DirectPlay and those that won't. That means that while we could allow EAC3 to DirectPlay, it won't work for everything. In addition to that, it's not a format that Samsung lists as a supported audio file format, so we would be living on the edge if we went down that path. Considering all of that, I expect you will have to live with transcoding. My only suspicion on the actual problem was that I can see for the two files that work, they are in an MPEG-4 (Base Media / Version 2) container, and the ones that don't are in an MPEG-4 (Base Media / Version 1) container. I can't confirm if this is the actual problem, but it's the only difference I could really identify.

  29. perhaps its time to move on and drop the skin as a dependent. i added it to make installing and setup easier for new users but i dont think any new users are comming in now so i will drop the dependancy on the skin.

  32. Just looking at my TV episodes (~30K total), HDR is only approx 1% of them - 320 to be precise. So taking the nas procesing time above - that's 40,000ms or 40 seconds extra.. It's also worth mentioning that I had to use filter by Tag (HDR10+HDR10+) to get the results below, as emby has not even included 'HDR' as a common 'MediaInfo' filterable attribute .. but it does have a 3D option ...

  33. It would appear that the sub powers the rest of the speakers? In which case IF you can match the impedance (ohms) with additional speakers you could retain those, and add. As others mention, a separate receiver means you can replace the receiver if all the speakers are still functional in the future. The reality of it is this, Dolby is backward compatible. IE - if it works with Atmos it will decode every other previous Dolby standard. DTS is nearly the same but has a few outliers that may not decode as expected without the receiver having the matching decoder standards built in. Fortunately since they are digital, those are generally included but its best to check. I would also check out the number of channels you would like vs room size, 9 speakers in too small a room will not be better than 5 or 7. Prices of receivers vary based on the number of channels you are using as well. Brand is personal preference but be aware that places like Best Buy etc. have manufacturers make models for them and will have additions to their model name. R-XV567 becomes RX-Va 567 and to hit their price/profit numbers there are usually features removed from the manufacturers standard models. Careful comparison will show where they skimped, or why the standard version at the specialty shop costs more. Best way to shop is to make a list of features, find a couple receivers that match, and a shop that will let you listen to them on the same set of speakers.

  36. Hi. For a web browser, this would be almost impossible to control but you can already determine who is and isn't allowed to download content. Why do you need to restrict your friends and family after the fact?

  37. It's probably better to look at an example of that and see what's going on.

  38. Nothing upsets people more than if they cant watch their favorite TV show because of an Emby bug. Only thing worse is when the family complains and asks why they cant watch tv like normal people. All the Live TV issues with the beta stream has reinforced how critical it is to get things right and not rush things. So if takes a bit longer to work out the bugs, its time well spent.

  41. You can't - the choice of version is made by Emby episode by episode. So you need to go through the episode page to choose the required version manually. We hope for some way around this in a future version, but there is no indication that it is coming any time soon. Paul

  42. I have been recording TV shows and films Over the Air since 2010. My library if over 10,000 files. I have been using emby-server with the raspberry pi 4b since 2019. I have two of those server been use as personal video recorder with HDHomerun Extend tuners. I used the HDHomerun Extend to transcode the stream to H264, since transcoding could not be properly done real time on the raspberry pi. The servers are responsive, able to watch a show while it is been recorded and fast forward commercial. It can steam multiple files at the same time if no transcoding is required. Postprocessing is done remuxing the ts file to mp4 and running comskip for commercial detection. I use 2tb USB3 HDD. The servers are in different city in North America so the use a wireguard mesh network between the servers to have access to each other library and HDHomerun tuners. I got a raspberry pi 5 2 weeks ago. Quickly installed emby server on it. The server can software transcode 2 HD streams at the same time, this is a major improvement. I still use 2tb USB3 HDD with it, but a M.2 Hat is coming and it will be able to use a NVMe SSD. I was able to record 4 HD show at the same time with a HDHomerun quatro while watching one of them. The pi 5 make for a very low cost and efficient embyserver for personnal use. I will be upgrading the raspberry pi 4 servers to the raspberry pi 5. Hope this help.

  43. CIFS/SMB (even v3) is a very 'chatty' protocol - I've seen issues with it many times within Emby, especially on the 'Shield' running as a server. I think it's a combination of the OS, driver and the SMB chatty protocol (+ possibly some emby file/stream worker inefficiencies) that introduces the bottleneck on some systems as Q-Droid has said above - you were just unfortunate to be one of those users. NFS is much more efficient and is not conflicting with the HTTP streaming client side. Nice fix

  44. ok - I don't have an issue - but let those with issues test it and feed back. With only half a dozen issues, it sounds to me like an edge case - if it was really 'broken' - I'm sure there would be many more comments/issues being raised ... ?
