  1. Hi @ebr I agree with wordlover "Volume leveling/normalizing for a music library" is a feature that would be great to have in Emby. This is Not the same as this topic, it is very different than trying to do this with video. There are standard algorithms, embedded tags ... Please Reopen @wordloverFR so the discussion can be focused Thanks -vicpa

  2. Id like to request the ability to have a library or collection volume leveled both so there arent wild swings in volume between different videos as well as smoothing out the volume changes within a single video. I have quite a few movies/epps that are really quiet compared to the rest of the content and would like to fix this. Most of my users have requested this of me at some point or another.

  4. This is a simple plugin that adds a Scheduled Task to Emby that will prob/extract media metadata from STRM file targets. Why do you need this? By default, when you use STRM files in Emby it will not prob the target file that is pointed to by the STRM, this is mainly for library scan performance reasons but does leave holes in your library media metadata like durations, stream info etc. This plugin will try to plug the holes by prompting Emby to do a deep remote prob on the strm target files. This is going to be slow if you have a lot of Strm files in your system, and even slower if the streams are remote. The scan only needs to happen once for each strm file so if you run this daily then you should be ok as it will only process new strm files with no media metadata. To use it install the plugin from the catalogue and look in the Schedule Tasks, there should be a new one. Source Code https://github.com/faush01/StrmExtract

  5. I hope this is OK to post here but if not please delete it. I was having an issue with my Samsung tv and files with a large number of embedded subtitles. I know this isn't an Emby issue so I put together a script that runs through my mkv files and remuxes them removing all subs (I'm happy to let Emby grab the subs for me). You need the mkvmerge executable in a folder (sample path below) and it replaces the original files with the modified ones from the temp directory. Save the following as a .bat file and run it in the directory where the media is stored. It should skip any files without subtitles. @echo off set "mkvmerge_path=C:\mkv\mkvmerge.exe" powershell -Command "& { mkdir 'temp' -Force; Get-ChildItem -Filter *.mkv | ForEach-Object { $subtitles = & '%mkvmerge_path%' -i $_.FullName | Select-String 'subtitles'; if ($subtitles) { & '%mkvmerge_path%' -o ('temp\' + $_.Name) --no-subtitles $_.FullName }} }" move /y "temp\*" . rmdir /s /q "temp"

  6. It would be great to have an option to rewatch tv series. Some times it's hard to tell what was the last episode watched if the entire show has been marked as watched. It occurs to me that this can be done with a counter that can differentiate if the numbers of plays is odd or pair showing a different color marker on each episode accordingly, so if the entire show has been watched again all episode should have the same color.

  7. As suggested by @ebr I have split my original request to allow better monitoring of interest and progress. The original request is here https://emby.media/c...brary-overhaul/ If you are interested please like the post. I always wanted to have this feature! This is something that was offered by Flickr. It would use the coordinates where the picture was taken stored in the EXIF and display the picture in the world map. I think that this was a bit specific in the past because we needed to have a GPS module tied to the camera but now every smartphone does this out of the box (without even asking your permission). Here is an example from Flickr where each point is a picture that you can display when clicking on the point:

  8. I have started adding some audiobooks to Emby to test with now that Emby supports m4b and i have figured out how to add chapter tags. When viewing an audiobook page in the webapp that has a description longer than one line, this gets cut off as per following screenshot. It would also be great to show the chapters info on this screen, rather than having to click through to the book, and then scroll down to see the chapters.

  9. I took a little time and generated genre images based off of movies I like. They aren't labeled according the genre I used them for, since most of them could be used for several different genres. Enjoy! 8bitGenreImages.zip

  11. Wanted to report back: Since my bedroom TV was still having issues, and unsure why because no errors were throwing, you could see the transcode folder being written to temp files during the transcode, but it simply wouldn't play, I decided to nuke the TV. Factory reset and now the bedroom TV works flawlessly as well. So it seems like the latest beta version fixed whatever issue the Roku 12.5 update back in September caused, and this TV simply needed a factory reset to clear all data and start fresh to work. Hope this helps someone else. Thanks all!

  13. Forget extra parameters and try this. edit your container. Scroll down and add Device. This works for me.

  14. How many channels do you have? How long does the guide refresh run? Everybody where it runs faster should be good then.

  17. No it's not normal, but it unfortunately it happens... I have somewhat mitigated this by moving the Emby database on a separate NVMe from the OS, the Emby cache on another NVMe, making the libraries smaller, spread the libraries over various LUNs and tightening the parameters for the plugin. It's not optimal, but this has improved responsiveness of Emby in general and the scans in particular. This also happens with a library scan, by the way... That's a bit of an issue since the average library scan takes over 6 hours

  19. Because I didn’t know about this option so far. With a short announcement about the removal I would have purchased the extended Lifetime immediately. I really hope it comes back at least for a short time.

  20. I should have searched more first. The Dish Network guide went away for the region I was using, so, changed to a nearby one and all is back. Sorry for the post though maybe it will help someone else.

  21. HI, we are working on getting it into the store for TV devices. Hopefully soon.

  22. I got this issue resolved by swapping to the nvidia shield pro. I think all my issues were due to the Roku having more limited codec and subtitle support than I thought it did when I got it. The final issue that made me swap was finding that DD truehd was not something the ROku could handle. I should have looked at the Roku specs more carefully.

  23. Hi, try refreshing the metadata on those and see if that changes the title.

  24. Fair enough. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. It's not just the transcoding though. I'm still not sure why 2 of 4 DLNA servers wouldn't present the ts or m2ts files to the x800m2 when the others would. One even using a supposed specific to the x800m2 profile. It didn't work with a generic profile either. I've currently landed on emby as it seems the least broken, but when it kept playing me the wrong file via the web interface from some extras off a blu ray I got pretty frustrated with it as well. And that's not even considering the whole DV mess.

  25. This has improved very minorly, but still has issues using v3.3.56 on android 14: If media is actively playing on the client you are controlling when you disconnect the android app from it, the behavior is the same as previously; the player notification is stuck in the tray and can't be dismissed unless you force stop the app. If however the client has a stream open but that stream is paused when you disconnect; the notification is still in the tray but you can now dismiss it by swiping it out of the tray.

  26. @ebr I would also like to upgrade my existing Lifetime license to 45 devices to further support Emby. Customer since 2019 here and I might not need this upgrade but don't want to miss out (FOMO). What I would not like to do is to purchase a second Lifetime license, this makes it complicated to handle for me personally. I think the change was not communicated well since the purchase option was removed silently, so people didn't have the chance to upgrade in time. Could you probably offer the upgrade option again at least for a specific time range that is communicated well?

  28. Hello, I love Emby since a long time and I'm happy every time a update comes out! What I don't understand though is how the dev team handles Changelog descriptions. Many threads are opened in this forum to ask for specific versions what was changed. In my point of view this wouldn't happen when release notes would be more transparent. For an example look up the latest iOS release notes: These release notes tell nothing to be honest and dev replies in the forum are far more in detail, but we receive them only per request. I'm sure it's a bit more work for the team, but maybe it would be possible to go on with detailed changelog descriptions in future. This would also help users to understand if specific bugs reported before were fixed. Kind regards

  31. I like the ones that gradually get faster the longer you hold the button down. Starts off slow for dialing into a spot if you're close, but if you hold the button down it skips faster and faster if you got a long way to go. Sort of like the old VCR players.

  32. Hi, I haven't tried this myself, but one thing I would suggest is to find out what version of SMB the zidoo supports, and then make sure that version of the smb protocol is enabled in your synology share.

  33. I'm having no issues with the betas, but you could have a look at the testing forum and scan the topics there to see what people are saying. You could also just wait it out too as Luke has mentioned Emby is getting close to making 4.8 the stable. All the latest builds seem to be wrapping up the little things. I don't think they wanted to make a major release until after the holiday though. If you do update to 4.8 beta you could just stay on 4.8 once it goes stable. There is the off chance that Emby asks people on beta to start with a clean slate if moving to stable, but Luke mentioned that would be in the release notes if they did and no indication so far they would do that.

  35. Yeah. I don't know what happened to the original version of this. EDIT: Actually... it might have been blocked. Should I have done this? I recreated it, and it works now. DOWNLOAD: Restart_v1.zip I realize the built in emby version will only restart when updates are available. But, this will restart the server no matter who is using it, every day at 3:45 am (default). Is that what you guys wanted. It could check for users being connected before restarting, and then wait for the next appropriate time to do it...

  36. Hey guys, I just wanted to revive this topic. Wouldn't it be possible for stacked files to be a single item? I don't wanna be sir cryalot, but that's how it is on Plex. If I have multi parts on Plex the first part is playing and when it ends the video buffers and the 2nd part starts immediately in the same window without the user having to do anything. And it's shown as a single episode/movie over there. It would be much more convenient than having 2, 3, or more single entries for each part. Master @@Luke ?
