  1. Update: With the feedback from @bandit8623I've tried to setup the Audio on the older Streaming box. It appears, that this box does not provide any option for changing how to handle these cases. I could not set passthrough or what ever. Today, the newer Box (8010) received and after the basic setup, the first thing I noticed was, that one of my affected movies was playing. BUT - it appeared to be without sound. On the newer device, there are more advanced Audio-Options - so I tried it with "passthrough" - which is now working just as expected. The other improvement is the speed of the newer 8010...

  2. Correct. By no means was my remark towards Emby. They are doing a fantastic job.

  3. ComSkipper ... A Emby Plugin that skips commercials in recordings using output from comskip. This plugin will work with EDL files generated by Comskip, ShowAnalyzer or any other application capable of generating them to automagically skip past commercials when playing back recordings in Emby. A visual localized notification will be presented on the screen when this happens. UNC network mappings are fine - as long as the .EDL file is in the same filename as the media file. A PDF is included in the download that explains all of the details. But one thing should be made clear up front. And that is this plugin does NOT contain comskip, show analyzer, or any other program that detects the commercials and creates the EDL files with the skipping information. Also, the donator version of comskip is required because Emby stores its recordings in .TS format. I'm told the donator version is no longer required. User @vdrovergraciously created a PDF file on how to get this working on Ubuntu. It can be found in the Github repository in the doc folder and will be included in future releases. The PDF file also shows an easy way to configure Emby to automatically run comskip after each recording on a Windows server. Linux server users will need to figure out the best way to do this for their flavor of Linux. I am not a Linux advocate or user, however I did find this information in the NextPVR forum that is encouraging, and I encourage Linux users to help each other out with this as I will be of little to no help in this regard. https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=60803 Building Comskip is really quick and easy on Ubuntu, so probably the same for any Debian based distro: $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ffmpeg libavcodec-dev libavformat-dev libavutil-dev autoconf automake git libargtable2-dev libtool $ git clone git://github.com/erikkaashoek/Comskip $ cd Comskip $ ./autogen.sh $ ./configure $ make $ sudo make install Once this is out long enough where I am pretty sure it is stable, I'll make its GIT repository public. Git Repo Getting it into the plugin catalog could follow after that, assuming the Emby team approves. I rarely record, my main use case is NFL football games. I record our local teams game, which when complete runs comskip on the recording which takes about 40 minutes. We then watch the game while eating dinner that evening. Skipping halftime (manually) it brings the time from 3-4 hours to 2 to 2.5 hours. Comskip does a very good, remarkable really, job on all of my recordings including the games to date. I have attached the comskip.ini that I use. It works well for me in the US. If you add this to your ini (make sure your system has the processing power to handle it), it will greatly reduce he time comskip takes to process your file (requires donator version). thread_count=2 Have fun and enjoy commercial free recordings Current Release Version 2.2.0.0 - Updated Emby library to latest. Version 2.1.1.0 - Added popular .editorConfig for consistent coding standards. Upgraded to latest Emby library. 4. Hey All, Firstly, excellent work! secondly, I noticed that this has stopped working in Emby 4.6.4.0, I have forked the repo and fixed if anyone is interested. (Have PR out for main repo) https://github.com/ShanePe/Emby.SmartPlaylist.Plugin/ Sorry also, I have made an update, if the playlist has NOT yet been generated, it will generate it, regardless of the playlist schedule trigger. So one no longer need to 'manually' run first to initialize the playlist if it falls outside of playlist generation schedule. (Make sense !?!?!?!) Version 2.4.0.3 Feature Create a copy of a playlist. (Duplicate) Decluttered UI by adding a pop up menu to playlists New Criteria: Added Audio Stream Codec Criteria (Stream: Audio Codec) Added Audio Stream Language Criteria (Stream: Audio Language) Added Audio Stream Display title Criteria (Stream: Audio Display Title) Added Subtitle Stream Language Criteria (Stream: Subtitle Language) Added Video Stream Codec Criteria (Stream: Video Codec) Added Video Stream Display title Criteria (Stream: Video Display Title) Updated Criteria: Parental Rating: Now uses official rating under the hood Resolution Height: Now uses video streams to determine the available video heights rather than the metadata. Resolution Width: Now uses video streams to determine the available video widths rather than the metadata. Added Monitor Mode to shuffle playlist type. Meaning that the playlist will be destroyed and recreated on a schedule, but between scheduled executions, media item changes will be batched and monitored for inclusion/exclusion. (So .... combination of live and shuffle modes but could have a perf hit on larger playlists, experimental) Collapsible sections in the playlist editor that keeps state, for more UI real estate. Added the ability to add notes to a playlist (limited to 256 chars). If there are notes assigned a pop up is displayed when hovering over a playlist (2 second delay). Order all selection lists on criteria with dropdowns alphabetically. ------------------------------------------------------- Releases Here -> (See change logs in this thread .... way down) Plugin for Emby Server 4.8: SmartPlaylist-2.5.0.4810.zip

  5. Tried to search for this feature request but couldn't find it. It would be very good to be able to sort and filter the content of collections. I have some collections with a lot of movies (1001 movies you have to see before you die, Criterion collection, etc). As of today you can sort and filter the collections themselves but you can't sort and filter the content. So if I want to find an unseen movie from my 1001 collection I will have to scroll through a lot of movies. In the collection view you also separate categories (movies, tv, ...) and it would be great to be able to choose to not separate them also.

  6. Hi, I know it is possible to put different Versions of a movie into same folder and give them behind the "-" different names for identification. I use this feature very often, also if a movie is in 3D, HD and 4K available. Sometimes also special Extended Versions, etc. I also use this Feature for Multi-Movie Boxes, like Tarantinos Grindhouse. (Grindhouse (2007) - Death Proof, Grindhouse (2007) - Planet Terror) which work great. But I noticed, that the Chapter List in the Grid View don't refresh, for the newly chosen file. Is it possible to implement this, that you see the chapter list of the selected version?7 It's not a big deal and not a nobrainer, but it would be more elegant if this could work. Especially if different Movie Versions have different Chapters.

  7. Hi, for some reason your top level 'movies' folder has different permissions to the subfolders. 'admin' vs 'nobody' In UnRAID, the default is 'nobody' ...and the PUID and PGID of this account are used as the defaults for docker containers (you do not need a local Emby account, docker handles this): What do you have set on your Emby docker settings for these? (Show more settings...) It's probably being blocked by the 'admin' account having a different PUID than 99 (nobody) You can check this with: root@unraid:# cat /etc/passwd .. nobody:x:99:100:nobody:/:/bin/false .. Admin will show as a different value You could try installing 'Fix Common Problems' from the UnRAID Community Apps store, it comes with a tool called 'New Docker Safe Perms' (not to be confused with the standard "New Permissions" tool which could mess up your dockers as it touches /appdata -- don't run that one) ^ not sure if this will fix the ownership, or just the permissions ...but worth a shot. Let us know how you go.

  10. What we've done in 4.8 is remove a lot of unnecessary file I/O operations, and that will improve performance. To improve performance further you could try this locking change but it's not something we've tested.

  15. Hi, sorry, forgot to update the thread. Yes hardware detection works again on .52, for the NVIDIA card at least. I've not wanted to shut down the machine to try the older ATI card again though. Probably assume it's ok, but if you get other reports of issues with older ATI cards I'm willing to give it a go to help diagnose. Thanks

  22. I think Sahne's remark is addressed to the OP, not Emby. There seems to have been an outbreak of late of posts from people who either think that Emby is a streaming service, or who have no appreciation of why Emby insists the product is aimed at families. The Emby staff are good at enlightening them politely (I'm probably more brusque when I happen to be the one to respond, but I hope not rude). Paul

  24. This really needs to work properly because there are times that things belong in multiple libraries and it is silly to need to have multiple copies of video files on the hard drive. TV movies belong in Movies and in TV shows is just one example. Plus right now with the Holidays I have a library for Holiday Movies & Specials and many of these movies sit in normal libraries all the time but for ease of finding them I have this library up right now and it is the home for certain content that doesn't belong anywhere else and I will simply turn it off after the New Year until next Holiday season. There are tons of classic movies that are not actually "Christmas" movies per se but at this time of year I want people to find them in the Holiday library in case they want to have a look. Sorry, genre is not a good way to find things in emby.

  32. (1) Calm down before you persuade people not to bother with you. (2) Report the problems in detail, with server logs, so that we can see what's actually happening: (3) Thousands of people use Emby without these problems, so there should be no problem sorting you out. Paul

  34. The Tonemap algorithm setting does save. What doesn't survive restarts are the fine-tuning values to adjust the tone mapping and other overrides. I agree re: Mobius offering better results. And based on the descriptions for the algorithms it may also do a better job with color accuracy across a wider range of sources. reinhard Preserve overall image brightness with a simple curve, using nonlinear contrast, which results in flattening details and degrading color accuracy. hable Preserve both dark and bright details better than reinhard, at the cost of slightly darkening everything. Use it when detail preservation is more important than color and brightness accuracy. mobius Smoothly map out-of-range values, while retaining contrast and colors for in-range material as much as possible. Use it when color accuracy is more important than detail preservation.

  35. Yes, that's correct at this time. The situation is different between Windows and Linux, though: Windows We don't even have hardware scaling or deinterlacing for AMD, because there are still a number of things missing in ffmpeg to get this working. ("this" means: transcoding using a full hardware pipeline) . Linux We support AMD acceleration via AMD's VAAPI drivers; this allows full hardware pipeline processing for normal operations, but they don't have native tone mapping like Intel (for newer CPU models) But we will probably be able to provide hw tone mapping for AMD via OpenCL in the next or another subsequent update.

  36. Somewhat related to this prior request ( https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/44010-emby-theater-external-player-custom-messages-particularly-for-media-stubs-and-tags/ ) it would be nifty and useful to add support for the Kodi Media Stub embedded data, which would then be displayed when a user tries to Play a Media Stub item. From http://kodi.wiki/view/media_stubs <discstub> <title>Alternative Title</title> <message>Message to be displayed</message> </discstub> Thanks! PS - If this is something you might like to see implemented, be sure to "Like" this top/first post (as well as any subsequent posts in this thread that highlight particular aspects of what you are interested in) -- "Liking" the top/first post helps the Devs to know how much interest there is in a given Feature Request.

  37. I have always wanted to display my missing episodes. That's just me. I like to know when something is missing instead of just reading between the lines, but to each his own. And until lately, it's been great. Now I find myself recording Jeopardy! episodes, and there are simply SO MANY missing episodes, that it's overwhelming if someone wants to navigate to a previous year where I may not have very many episodes. I think the global setting is great and don't want to change anything there. One of two suggestions would help me hide missing episodes on a per-show basis. 1 would be to have filtering capabilities when viewing a season of a particular show. Then we could hide missing episodes. But the "missing episode" filter is missing, which has its own threads, so I won't go into that here. 2 would be to have a few new checkboxes in the series metadata. Down below the locking checkboxes. First option is the default: to obey the global settings. Second option is to hide missing episodes. Third option is to display missing episodes. 2nd and 3rd options overwrite global settings for that particular series. I envision this feature being helpful to many users who do care to know when episodes are missing, but may only care about the shows they themselves actually follow.
