I also really want this feature to be in emby's player. Even YouTube has implemented this. So please add this functionality in emby. I found this function to be very useful. Thanks.

It is recommended that when playing media, long press on a certain area of the screen or the entire screen area to trigger 2.0X speed or 3.0X speed, and release the finger to return to 1.0X speed

When @pünktchendesigned VirtualTv, he cleverly included an interface that allows users to create their own user interfaces. This plugin is one example. It extracts your channel definition from VirtualTv so they can be viewed and edited. Later they are saved back into VirtualTv. In this way users can experiment with different GUIs for defining the content of VirtualTv channels. The Channels GUI is displayed below. It's derived from @pünktchenjavascript code and I give him all of the credit for this creation. My coding is neither perfect nor complete. It is a start to learning which GUI best serves defining which Emby content to include in a tv channel. I believe VirtualTv is focused on building the TV EPG, the rules that map the Emby media into an EPG channel and creating the playlist sent to a TV. I just made many changes to the plugin herein. If you find bugs, I will fix then ASAP. I am currently working on allowing multiple VirtualTv channel definitions that can be loaded into VirtualTv on a time schedule. For example, you could have a different VirtualTv configuration for each day of the week. Sample pictures of the Channels GUI are shown below. Give it a try. I will add more content in a few days. Emby Server 4.8 will support the .actors folder in a read-only fashion, meaning it will be able to use images from the .actors folder underneath a series or movie folder. The Emby Server database is still the same as before, meaning it's still one image per actor. That means if you have an actor that appears in multiple movies or series, it will be one shared image that is used in all places, and it will be whichever one happens to get scanned in first. But this will allow for basic support of the .actors folder convention.

Problem solved! I should have known better. After the firmware update, the system does a soft reboot with no interaction from me. While on with support from WD I suggested I do a hard reboot manually, in other words shut the damn thing down. I did that and let it sit for a few minutes and on reboot, all is well again. So there never was an issue with Emby. I will try to remember in the future to just go ahead and do a hard reboot after a Nas update. Thanks for responding though.

Well can you get the standard Android app in the Play Store Android TV devices, even as a beta, so that she'll get future updates please.

alright, I have the dev environment working perfectly - I noticed @maegibbonsyou're using the beta version of emby server (v4.8.0.45). I'll still have the two branches, the release version and the beta version. I'm going to finalise the release version and focus on the beta version for the upcoming releases (v4.8+). I'll tidy up v4.7* and then have v4.8* supported. Shouldn't take long though.

I would test it out to see how it works for you. We have some long-time members who use the system in an only periodically connected environment. One of our moderators uses it from a ship at sea. So it will just depend on which apps you use and your exact scenario.

I have found; 1) start with a small group of books and experiment to get what you want your library to look like; 2) if I provide the image Emby will usually pick it up and use it or I can add it in Emby using "Edit Images"; 3) “Calibre” has been very helpful in providing many of the images for epub files (haven’t started pdfs yet), but I still have to search for some of them; 4) “Calibre” can also provide me with the “Metadata” for me to put into the “Overview”, but this is one at a time (this would be a nice place where Emby could help me, maybe using Calibre's opf file?); 5) now I can at least “see” what ebooks I have and can then download what I want to my devices to read; 6) I used Emby to organize my Audio book library and following a similar format for the ebooks. Thank you for Emby! I can now find and enjoy my media anywhere/everywhere. It was horrible spending more time looking for something than enjoying it. I did see the reference to “audiobookshelf” that is something I will have to look into when I have the time.

I guess that's true. Wasn't sure if there was a technical reason or it just wasn't desired functionality in that mode. Sounds like the latter. Either way, you've answered my question - I changed to desktop display mode and the feature is again working. Thanks again for your help, issue solved.

Disregard previous post. Watching a different NFL game, I don't have this issue anymore. Must have been a quirk. Anyway, your ability to play the Dolby AC4 audio streams is just fantastic. You guys did a great job.

@LukeI DM'd you with a link to a sample video that freezes at 8:53 (and several more times after that). This is getting really frustrating for videos and live TV. The wife is not happy! @LukeDon't sit and wait again - the link expires in 2 weeks! You haven't read my other DM with another link!

I removed it from Emby. Turned debugging on, added the episodes back, and it shows 2 episodes are there on the poster again, but no episodes show. Will send you the debug log.

the liking the trailer to get the movie is a very smart way to do this, good work. you should look at turning this into a plugin. you may not be able to add it to the official emby plugin catalogue due to reasons, but if you create a plugin people will be able to drop it in the plugin dir to use it. good work.

The first one is better. The second makes some compromises for being able to get into the store and work on the xbox.

I use TVHeadend on the same server as Emby in the following config and it is working perfectly: M3U - TV Source: http://localhost:9981/playlist/channels.m3u TVGuide Data Providers: http://localhost:9981/xmltv/channels All available channels and TV-Guides are working just fine. If you prefer to host the apk on a server such as Synology NAS and install the file to your Shield from your NAS you can do that too. This is good if you have multiple Shields or just want to have the apk in a central location. 1. Download apk file to NAS Create shared folder Place apk files in shared folder 2. Enable smb3 on NAS Make smb3 max protocol Click Save and Apply 3. Mount NAS on Shield Settings Device Preferences Storage Mount Network Storage 4. Install apk file Start X-plore from Shield Navigate to the shared folder on NAS Select apk and open Scroll down and click Install

Maybe the message can be changed a little too. I know it doesn't delete movies, but it scares the crap out of me whenever I use it because it's kind of vague. The way it reads it says it deletes the collection, but that can mean movies also depending on the way you read it.

Could you please edit your message and delete the external IP from there!!!??????!?!?!?!?!? I thought I had deleted it from there...
