  1. They only and went and did it, our internet dropped so assumed that was the change over and sure enough when it was back up - I had external access again :)!! Now back to learning SSL and Caddy.

  2. I just finished updating the Channels plugin, for managing VirtualTV channels. The plugin is attached below. It will import your VirtualTv channel metadata, but not the metadata for channel media selection. For each channel you select the media from your Emby library that you want streamed. I am open for ideas and suggestions, Vic

  3. I don't get why all the ISPs are going to the complication of implementing cgNAT when the same effort could be used to get IPv6 into a position to become standard. It's over ten years since it was officially launched... Paul

  4. Just wanted to give a little hint into the direction of "Thorium" which is an interesting fork of Chromium with lots of optimizations and patches. There are also some in regard to HW-video-decoding and audio-codec support. Most interestingly, it involves https://github.com/Muril-o/electron-chromium-codecs to enable AC3 and EAC3 playback, hence emby won't have to transcode to mp3 anymore. I tried it, and it just works (not the Atmos-variants). Small things, I know, but worth to mention I think.

  5. I'm a plex life time member, but I have been using Emby for over six years continuously, but there is a feature which I have always thought is missing in Emby which I would like and encourage the developer to consider including especially in this dispensation where families can social or commingle due to COVID 19. Today, I received a notification from Plex about it new feature titled Watch together you can read about it here https://support.plex.tv/articles/watch-together/ The feature allows friends and families at distance to watch same movies together instantly, you simply invite all your buddy, once they signed to the system which can be seeing in the server then play and pause as needed, this I think is cool feature should be added to emby. Let's here your though if Emby developer should consider adding this feature to our beloved Emby Media https://www.bing.com/news/search?q=Plex+Watch+Together&qpvt=plex+watch+together&FORM=EWRE

  6. As the title says, @softworkz teased all of us in another thread for me to post this. The number one improvement I check on this forum hoping there are updates to, sadly not so much.

  7. Would it be difficult to implement a feature to allow transcribing a video podcast to audio-only, for listening on my phone? If a podcast has both audio-only and video formats, I typically choose the video version for archival purposes. When downloading these to my phone, it would be nice if I could choose 'audio only' under the transcribing quality, so I could continue listening with my screen off. I'm sure this would not be a widely used feature, but if it would be trivial to add it would be cool to have.

  8. Hello, Perhaps I am not the first one to ask this question but it will be very cool if this feature could be implemented. I have 2 servers one at home and the other at work. ( and soon a third one...) So I have a movies library called movies on each server. I would like to see all the movies from a single 'virtual server location' when I use the app (ios or android ) where I will see only one movies library containing movies informations from the movie library at work and the movie library at home. It's an aggregation of movies informations from the movie library at work and the movie library at home. In fact when a user have multiple servers it will be perfect if another choice in the server list called "all servers" for example appears automatically with a merge of media informations from librairies with the same name on different servers.

  9. I don't think I changed anything on my Emby config when I migrated from NPM to Traefik but I might have done something before using NPM and I can't recall. Give me a few minutes and I'll try to get you some screenshots of what my Emby network config look like. When you say it doesn't work with Emby, what do you mean? What error do you get, have you checked the logs? is there a chance that you asked for too many certs in the production caServer and now you are timed out for a few days? EDIT: Added screenshot with my network settings

  12. @xibinimIf you had an static ip before the move. Then your ISP should be able to give you a static ip again. You should ask them, since that's the easy first step.

  14. I don't know what OS Emby is running on - but some examples of a post processing script in this thread, but plenty more if you search the TV forum. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/118947-scheduled-mp4-conversion-after-recording-is-done/#comment-1293923

  19. HI, it has the same user interface as our standard android app: https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html So yes, anything you see in the standard android app will eventually come to the LG app. It just takes longer to get updates through the LG review process. Hi, yea it's not a bad idea. It's possible for the future.

  20. Yeah, that and guide overlay, near instantaneous channel changes etc etc. We need to remember even WMC wasn't great when it first started as a 2 disc add on pack for XP. And the Vista version wasn't a whole heap better. And there were years between that and the release of Win 7 WMC which was THE major step up, and then further refinement with the release of the Win 8 add-on pack. The frustrating part of this is we've seen the solution we're all asking for but we just get our hands on it. Have to think @Lukeand co have good intentions to get this included however there must be bigger core issues to take care of before this solution is implemented. I do agree the lack of comms is pretty bloody poor. Chris

  21. OK this is going to get a revamp to make it look like other list screens throughout Emby. Thanks.

  23. I think I fundamentally misunderstood the role of the plugin. I don't think it can do what I'm after. The terminology is a bit confusing. I have a photo management app that separates libraries into folders, and I want new photos added to that to automatically also be added to Emby, but I think a 3rd party app is going to be necessary. Thanks for your help.

  24. Say I have a custom collection of 56 Christmas movies. During the Holiday Season, I would like to show this on the main page as a Library. Now, I could make a drive folder called "Christmas" and put these movies in that folder. However, now we're getting away from using metadata for organization and moving back to using folders for organization. Something you've spent the last few years trying to get away from. So each collection should have a toggle to show it as a library on the Home Page. Then people can make collections for Christmas, Halloween, Summer Romance, Summer Slasher Films, whatever and show them on the front page where they are easily accessible. Don't want to show it anymore, switch the toggle off.

  25. You could try M4A which is the extension for audio only format just like MKA is the audio only extension for matroska. I have all my Dolby Atmos pure audio music albums in M4A format and it works fine in an Emby music library. Triggers Atmos and all. You can even tag M4A using Mp3tag app and musicbrainz data.

  28. Damn, I'm getting completely fed up by @Lukeand @ebrignoring Live TV users! Almost another month goes by from the last post in this thread and still no comment (on topic anyway) from either of them! What's it going to take?!?!?

  29. I find it interesting that @Luke responds when anything about android vs android tv is mentioned, but he is radio silent about the Live TV update which is the topic of this thread! Why might that be?

  31. Hi, I have a request. Is it possible to support all kind of lists from TMDB and not only movie sets? Now, let's say I make a collection in Emby and add the TheMovieDb Id of it. For example I add 8091, the Alien Collection, then Emby adds the link in the interface https://www.themoviedb.org/collection/8091 Any chance to include support for all kind TMDB Lists too? Basically support not only tmdbcolid, but something like tmdblistid too? For example if I set the TheMovieDb List Id as 10, the Top 50 Grossing Films of All Time, then Emby would add this link in the interface https://www.themoviedb.org/list/10 Now it opens the link below and it is not what I would like to be opened. https://www.themoviedb.org/collection/10 TMDB lists are very powerful and a good asset for my own custom Emby collections. Thank you in advance.

  33. The better question is, what isn't it? 34. Yes, there are several ways to do this but one in particular that I've I've been testing with a good half dozen Emby users that needed something like this. I had been testing this personally for maybe 6 months as well. I can't find a downside to this method unlike typical VPNs or typical reverse proxy use. It's not really a secret but I wanted to get some use of this on multiple different platforms first to work out any kinks and be able to support it. The only requirement is that you need to have your own domain name that you can control. It can be a paid or free domain but you need to be able to change the Name Server for the domain to point to cloudflare. Here's the overall list of steps involved: Register a domain name. Signup for a free Cloudflare account. Add your domain to Cloudflare. Change your Name Servers to what Cloudflare gives you to use. WAIT This takes from 15 minutes to a few hours to kick in and transfer to Cloudflare. In the meantime you can configure Cloudflare with the specific settings needed to work with Emby Server and not abuse their services. You will be able to setup any type of DNS record you will need like A and CNAME records but we will handle the "emby" sub domain programmatically so don't set anything up specifically for Emby use. At this point you can get your own domain certificate from a 3rd party like Let's Encrypt or use a private cert directly from Cloudflare (what I do). We have to convert this cert to the pk12 format Emby needs and install this in Emby. Up until this point you are basically doing the same thing anyone would do setting up Emby for Cloudflare use. Now the fun/tricky part and it's a wee bit different depending on OS platform is setting up an Argo Tunnel. This used to be a paid only feature but they opened it up to free accounts as well (hence me starting to play with it). This tunnel is created using a single piece of software called cloudflared which is a CLI (command line only tool) that is used to establish an encrypted connection from your Emby Server machine to the Cloudflare Edge network. There are 5 steps to this but for Emby use I've got pretty much "cut and paste" instructions. These steps include getting authorized by Cloudflare (you do this from the CF dashboard), setting up PEM certs (used between you and CF), setting up the actual tunnel, configuring the tunnel for services (ie https, web sockets & SSH) and port, joining this to a location, creating a special DNS record with PEM cert associated with it (used by tunnel) and giving it a name such as "emby". Now you just start the tunnel and if done correctly you will be able to open a web browser or any Emby app and type in emby.your_domain.ext and it will work. At this point you just set this up so your computer establish the tunnel every time you restart the computer. On windows I create a service to start automatically so you don't have to do anything. After that long process it just works. You do not need to open any ports on your router so this is actually a good solution for anyone! The only way into your network is going through Cloudflare which is setup to only allow secured ports 443 and web socket access. If your ISP gives you a different WAN IP every single day it also wouldn't matter to you either because your computer always initializes the tunnel with an outgoing connection. You could use this on a notebook, walk over to your neighbors with a different IP and it starts working again. Once setup it just works! There are a lot of positives to this approach except for the detailed setup (not hard). If you already have a domain name or want to get one, open a free account on Cloudflare and start the process of updating your Name Servers. Once Cloudflare has control over your DNS records, I can run through the rest of the steps in stages which will give me a chance to write it all down and make a tutorial out of it for everyone's benefit.
