Welcome. It will be first 25 devices that use Premiere feature(s), after which they're tracked for abt. a week and eventually drop off the list if Premiere features unused. You can check what does fall-in under Premiere fetures here: Emby Premiere Feature Matrix That is not something that is exposed to the end user as Devs have certain concerns about security/privacy issues related (though I'm positive large number of users would like that policy to be reviewed and same info exposed). You can only limit type/number of devices user(s) can connect from (but not knowing whether they are actually using Premiere features and counting against your limit or not); then again, if you restrict it to certain type/number of devices you can be sure you won't hit it.2 points

Thanks for the Video's - useful for some but unfortunately a fair bit of mis-information about the AndroidTV App. Yes the Android (sideloaded) App has come a long way since it's first release 2 years or so ago, but it still has a long way to catch up with the native ATV App. See the thread below - warning - it's a Long thread ! I guess seeing the thumbs when ffwd/rwd is a personal thing - but I much prefer the mechanics of ATV - showing a proper chapters with a time line and then detailed thumbs if you need them. Showing chapters on the Android App is still horrid imo. btw - Stats for Nerds in ATV is just hold the center button. Again for release it.2 points

So, @Lukewill we be seeing TVNext progress action soon (repeat soon) after 4.8 is released ?2 points

So, already hello I had already thought of adding Emby support to the PMM project. After a quick read of the code, I think it's possible without too much difficulty. I've forked the basic repo to be able to test things out first and, if I come up with something, submit it to the PMM author. I think that if I'm not the only one working on it, it can go quickly. Here's the fork repo: REPO I'm willing to add as many contributors as I need if people want to help me. Like many people I have a job in real life so I can't work on it all the time. If someone has already started adding support for Emby and I haven't seen it (sorry) I'll help out if they show up.2 points

-= PLEASE UP VOTE & PROMOTE THIS REQUEST IF YOU WOULD LIKE THIS FEATURE =- DO THIS BY CLICKING THE "LIKE" BUTTON ON THIS POST REQUEST: Properly pool multiple M3u IPTV sources, so when adding more than one with the exact same M3u emby treats them as one source with however many "Concurrent Streams" you set for each. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/63725-multiple-iptv-tuners-double-channels/?p=636718 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/59607-duplicate-channels-one-tuner/?p=607031 https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/57420-multiple-identical-m3u-tuners-without-duplicate-channels/?p=560949 Basically once M3u #1 has used all 5 of its tuners, I then need to start using the login info that is within M3u #2... once those 5 tuners are used (now all 10 tuners), then emby issues "no tuners available". This is how emby treats HDhomeruns today, so it can't be to difficult. @@snodrog742 @@manolodf @@robrhedrick @@cayars1 point

Pretty simple suggestion. I have multiple users for my Emby server. If I want to do continuous maintenance on the media, I have to tell everyone. some of them are harder to reach than others ( i.e. no Facebook or Skype chat etc. ) It would be great if say... on the admin panel, I could hit a check box that enables 'maintenance mode', where the server still runs does everything as normal, but instead of the login screen it displays a maintenance page saying the server is unavailable. Even better if I were able to directly put a reason in a text box that would then display on the login screen as well. Not really sure what others would think of this, but for me it would be quite helpful. mostly if I want to make sure no one is trying to access content I know won't work until I've done a full library scan again. Thanks for reading. -Kyle1 point

I would love the option to store Emby's database in MySQL - I have a setup that serves around 30 people and I feel that there would be real performance gains by using a proper relational backend over SQLite (I'm presuming). On top of this it would make life easier for me when reporting on watched status a cross users.1 point

Request that Emby server store Dolby Vision (including profile), Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, HDR10+ (smpte2094) and HLG for appropriate video in the db and use it for display in the media info and track selection sections of movie/episode details screen. This information once in the db can then also be used in numerous other areas like: Mediainfo Cover Art, Stats for Nerds, Distinguishing different DV profiles for hardware support and tone mapping Example Mediainfo app display of HDR10+ ffmpeg patch for HDR10+ https://patchwork.ffmpeg.org/patch/11491/ Related requested that may require DV profile information in order to prevent unneeded TM1 point

I admit I've never thought about your use case before and for sure what the plugin currently is doing is not what one would expect. I'll change this. But it will take some time, because there are also many other things i'd like to adress.1 point

Thanks, for what it's worth I've had 3 different Chromebooks which all exhibit this behavior in the app.1 point

So you had a good quality fast platform that worked well. But you got rid of it because it was "more than you needed". But now your devices that cost a tiny fraction of what the shield cost don't perform well. This should not surprise you. If you want performance, buy performance. If you want cheap buy cheap. Perhaps there is some optimization to be done on the Android Emby app. But asking for optimization make up for poor performing hardware isn't a reasonable expectation. I own a Shield because it performs the best. You probably should too. Looks like they are available used for about $100. That's a nice bargain compared to the new price I paid 3 years ago. Fast, cheap, good. Pick 2. You can't have all 3. This applies to an enormous number of things in life. Brian.1 point

Indeed the code is consistent and many things are coded to be used by Plex (logical ahah). I've started writing things for testing purposes only (the code isn't very clean, but it allows you to test the first steps of PMM). I've created a branch for that, if you'd like to take a look. I think most of the work is in the builder.py file where a lot of things only work for plex. I hesitated to recreate a project just for Emby but if the possibility of a plugin being created to do the same thing (a lot of things so maybe a plugin isn't the best solution) then I don't necessarily see the point of doing that.1 point

Have you already tried version 3.3.36 of the app?1 point

Try this one Provider_Ids_Extender.zip This is the one from my pc (more up to date, but still no where near finished) I cannot find anything wrong with Custom Show ID 1, so I may have already fixed it a while ago but not posted it. If it still doesnt work, be sure to let me know.1 point
-
Sure thing, I thought I had done this, but I will recheck it as soon as I can. The version on my pc has had several updates, so I ought to post it. It's been a while since I checked this thread that I didn't realise so many people were using it.1 point

As Paul has advised, the two biggest resource hogs are thumnail previews and intro detection. If you put them on a scheduled task, then they will not run as part of new media getting added by RTM but they WILL be run as part of a manual scan - because the scan sees the data as missing. A debug log will show where it's getting 'stuck' but it's likely just doing the thumbnail/intro tasks which, depending on the speed of the server and/or size/number of episodes in a show, could take hours/days ...1 point
-
Hmm; I guess those settings are alright once everything is in place - but maybe the scheduled tasks are already taking resources, and you need to stop them for now to let the main scan finish. I'll leave further comments on this to the developers or those with more experience of those settings than I have (I only generate thumbnails for chapters, and don't use intro-skip at all). Paul1 point
-
If you have set for video preview thumbnails to be generated at 10sec intervals, and for intro detection to be run on series, then these can take a huge amount of time. It is recommended for those jobs to be set to run as separate scheduled tasks rather than when media is added. Of course, they will still take a long time, but will not interfere with the completion of other tasks, especially if those scheduled tasks are not enabled at all until the initial scan is completed. @LukeI know you don't like timelines but I have been seeing you don't like to create duplicates within the IDs/movies/tv shows etv (based on other threads) Do you have a timeline for Collections as Rows within the home display? To save people making effort if its soon. Cheers1 point
-
Collections and Playlists are currently a really poor way to display this type of information. If we can pin the CONTENTS of a Collection or Playlist to a 'row' in the home screen - then that is good - but we can't. So we need to convert the mdblist (which is just a list of imdb provider id numbers) and then create a 'channel' to display it - effectively as a virtual DYNAMIC library. THIS is what we need a plugin to do.1 point
-
OK, cool. Actually two letter codes are easier for me to remember because I see them more often elsewhere on the web, so a good change, in my opinion1 point
-
If I play it a second time the same thing happens, the subtitles still don't load. It only loads quickly if they are separate .srt subtitles1 point
-
Correct, I don't have any live TV set up, I just use Emby for playing movies/tv (and the music is just for friends), but hopefully it showed off enough of the differences in the players. Both between the options as well as how the two players differ in their UX when it comes to thumbnail display and pressing left/right on the remote to ff/rw 10s at a time.1 point

Appreciate you putting these together. Its clearly much faster then the GTV. Was hoping to see Live TV menu transitions, but you’re obviously not using that.1 point

Yeah, but it might be who knows how long before that happens!1 point

I'll see what I can do. I found a (newer) graphics card lying around over the weekend and stuck it in. Took some fiddling but got it working on 4.8.0.49. Once .52 is out I'll try that, and see if switching back cards also works.1 point

@timtim9000@rbjtech https://mdblist.com/lists/hdlists/top-ten-pirated-movies-of-the-week-torrent-freak-com This issue with plugins is the SDK isnt documented that will so its a lot of banging head on wall to get it to work, plus in 4.8 they entire UI for the plugin stuff is changing and its not documented. Ive run in to issues that they have then had to fix because I was trying to use something they didnt think of yet. Also yes, most people will then want support on it, and most people just do it quick and dirty and dont test all the use cases. Im waiting for some more UI support to make this plugin better, but then yeah I might post it and charge for it. You can do it really dirty with just a yaml/json file and a sched task if you wanted1 point

Not yet, I recommend to buy the USB Audio Player PRO app which it has full support in that regard while the Emby devs implement proper support.1 point

I guess this is the danger of using forums as a communication medium - it really don't convey thoughts and emotions well. We appear to have lost a lot of the open source Dev's in emby recently - chef and cheesegeezer appear to have moved on - and a lot of that is due to the 'demands' of users - with a large percentage of users not even expressing a basic level of gratitude for the personal/free time the Dev's spend giving to (and supporting) these projects. They are also of course enhancing a product (largely filling basic functionality gaps..) that emby themselves are being paid to do - so yes, there is also a question to be raised on 'why' they would do this.. Maybe lets reset - and concentrate our efforts to add this functionality (and that includes the Emby Dev's) - I believe we all want the same goal here.1 point

Hello guys! I am sorry that this update took a bit longer than usual but please note that I don't use Beta and I only do this for you when I have time. Please take that in consideration. Enough of that. I have now made updates to both the stable and beta version. The beta was a big update as a lot of things changed but I think it should all be good now hopefully. For some reason I cant edit the main post (do you know why @Happy2Play?) so the updates can be found attached to this post instead. Let me know if anything is not working correctly Emby-Stable-style-v2.8.css Emby-Beta-style-v2.8.css1 point

Not sure what the final plan is, but just wanted to add a vote to keeping the format name short if possible? I think it makes it easier to read at a glance, and keeps the UI a little cleaner? I really liked the suggestion above of using "DV+" for the DV formats. So for your list above, something like: DV DV+HDR10 DV+SDR DV+HLG HLG HDR10 HDR10+1 point

HI, yes fallback language options are planned for future updates. Thanks for the feedback.1 point

Hi. It was like this before for you and that is normal. There should be no reason for you to need direct file access for playback.1 point

@RanmaCanada Thank god, I can decide how to use my hardware and I don't have to ask internet trolls for this. Emby explicit mentions PS4 as supported hardware on the download page, but this is just false advertising, as there never was an app but only a crappy interface in the web browser (you have to move the mousepointer with the analog stick to click on the items, very unusable). Emby should stop advertising Emby for PS4, as there is no Emby for PS4 (or PS5). On the other hand, I wonder, if it is really that hard to write apps for the PS Store, if you see all that crap for a few bucks, just for trophy hunters, that get released every week. I don't think, these developers spent millions of dollars for that apps. Same as with the (worldwide) Samsung app, nobody says, the app has to be free, I don't think anybody will have problems to pay a few bucks for this.1 point

Just giving this a bit of a bump as it's been a year. With 4K, HDR and Atmos now much more popular in the industry, I think the lack of these tags for each media item is now well overdue and should be shown alongside the rating, resolution, audio and channels. Stats for nerds should show this info as well.1 point
-
While your at it, audio needs naming correctly. Always see TrueHD, when it fact it is Dolby Atmos.1 point
-
Adding my support - Along these lines can we also show this information in the main 'Video:' section after the codec detail ? so 'Video: 4K HEVC' becomes 'Video: 4K HEVC HDR' for example ? Can we extend to show Dolby Vision too - also easily identifiable by the codec tag being 'dvhe' in the DV stream. Thanks.1 point
