LOL...yeah, I found this out a couple years ago when I was new to emby. Now I have backups of the entire folder including the movie and all artwork etc. on a different drive. PLUS the first thing I do when I set up a new library is to make sure that the images are put into media folders.....which should be the default....default....default. Let those who like to have different artwork upon a file scan change it. Makes no sense not to have it set to default that images are placed into the media folder especially considering how particular most here are about all the work we have into emby.

From experience with digital media of all types: If you want high quality cover art, you need to review all of them yourself and pick new ones (maybe just higher quality versions) for the ones that don't meet your approval. In many cases the covers picked will not reflect what you think they should look like because you have a particular cover in mind and there are many different looking ones available. This can be kind of fun if you see it as a way to make your collection really be yours. Brian.

Feature Request: Have User Groups and all settings applied at the Group Level That way you can just assign users to the appropriate Group and all settings will be inheritated.

Hello, There is a Kodi addon call "gdrive" from ddurdle who can read videos (original and transcoding version) directly from Google Drive. Why not build on this idea to integrate Google Drive as source directly in Emby Server ? In addition, Emby could generate automatically the STRM files from one or many Drive folders. And transcodings are already available with Drive so no need to transcode with Emby server. What do you think ? ------------- Three reasons why this feature will be useful and awesome: 1. Cloud is the future and today the cost is affordable. I have a Google Drive Unlimited for $50/month (ie $600/year) and I have unlimited space that is secured against crashes. Knowing the cost of hard drive and the cost of power consumption, its a very good deal. 2. Google Drive transcode video file. This provides different stream quality like Youtube (1080p, 720p, 480p and 360p) and the "image quality/compression ratio" is very satisfying. I can play 720p video on my poor 4 Mbits DSL. 3. You don't need to have a big server. Personally, I opted for a little dedicated server (Kimsufi 2G) for the cost and I can leave it run 24/7! Feature Request. A present I have several user accounts setup for family members. When we sit down together to watch a movie we currently log into one account (Mostly mine), so obviously only this account gets the watched status. What happens then is everyone uses my account because there's isn't up-to date and it's "just easier". This results in my account telling me I've watched something when I haven't... I would like the ability to log into my account and select/deselect which other users are present so that when a movie/TV episode is watched together, their watched statuses are updated accordingly? The next time you log in again all other users would have been deselected. It could be implemented so each user account can do this, or only select user accounts can. Even a special "Family" user account, or multiple viewers button as long as everyone's watched status is correct. Even just ticking the users present on the login screen before login into an account.

Only downloaded Emby Server last weekend when I got my new NAS - think it must be from Trakt, but still not sure why it is in my continue watching. Just read I can remove it from continue watching (via right click and remove...) - I will just do this. I was just worried as they only appeared here when I downloaded the previously deleted episodes. Thank you both for looking into this for me

interesting.... mine never dropped that many frames.... drops some when skipping but nothing else ....most of my library is av1 now and random stuff I tried all played fine and looked fine... careful on the display settings maybe.... might look funky if you match frame rate..... check the settings in emby too mine look like this

Agreed - AndroidTV is not Direct Play despite what it says on the SFN and Dashboard - agree that it's transcoding to avc - 8bit.

If there’s some folder overlap in your Emby libraries make sure to configure it in all of them.

It shouldn't. Are you positive those are not legacy Nfos, written previously? Also, you need to disable it for each library separately.

In every library settings, disable Metadata Saver>Nfo.

My settings are 1280 and fanart on top for each library. I get fanart images say, when I add something or refresh something, but they are small images and look bad on most devices. I have to manually change everything. Goes for Movies and TV shows/seasons and Music artist and album covers. It's very sad to see such small graphics auto chosen in this modern era. Manually checking there are no small sizes like that to even pick usually. FWIW

... and then COPY or BACKUP all the files so they can be easily restored. One click of Emby with suitable rights will replace them all again ...

This.....my collection is mostly older movies, sometimes really old and it seems for some reason that younger people like sterile cover art devoid of all writing and someone loads it in Photoshop and just erases it all. This looks really BAD. Plus, it is called cover art by many because it used to be art and the writing etc. is all a part of that. I want my posters to be as original as possible and many times all you can find in hi-res is images that are faded, darkened and/or with fold marks. I load these into Paint.net and correct all the problems. I start with the highest resolution poster I can find that is the highest quality and closest to original. After I touch them up or simply change the exposure/brightness/levels I simply resize them all to 1000x1500 for emby and save the orginal resolution file into the media folder also in case I decide I want it later. This way I always have not only the highest resolution posters but the cleanest and closest to original that are available.

i got a fire tv 4k max today and the android tv app doesnt play av1 content trascodes with unsupported message , the normal sideloaded app works fine playing av1

If you want the very latest and timely resolution of security vulnerabilities/standard changes (from pcidss,hipaa,nist etc), then you need to use a well supported reverse proxy as has been said earlier on this thread. nginx, caddy etc. Configured correctly, they will also get you an A+ using this testing suite and will decouple all of these security responsibilities/dependencies away from emby.

I would like to see Qobuz or Tidal integration. Roon I do not use any more to expensive. I use now plexamp because of its functionality. Any plans to integrate Qobuz or Tidal? For radio streams an d a lot of apps I use LMS.

Hey @PuffyToesToo. for more complicated sort options, you can create a "Sort Job" for a playlist. as sorting is process heavy, this is done as a background scheduled task. (The AZ icon on a playlist). Also the latest version allows you to select sorting on Limited.

Ok, so I finally found some stuff to move/delete Just in case anyone find themselves in the same situation, this is what I did I quit the emby app in my ~/Library folder there were 2 folders in there, Containers and Group Containers: In Containers, I found a com.emby.mobile In Group Containers, I found group.com.emby.mobile Moved both of those out of the directories, restarted the emby app and got back to a clean slate with no servers. I could then sign back in my live servers. (Don't know if both folders were being used, I am just doing a search to see if both got re-created EDIT, looks like just the one in the Group Containers folder got re-created)

Hi, yes this is caused by the fact that the app actually has two windows, therefore it's window management is a little quirky. We are working on a new windows app that we hope to make available later this year that won't have this limitation.
