This was it, thank you very much. That was the problem, I had that option disabled.2 points

I mentioned it in another thread, but thought I'd put it here since this looks like a new section--just for posterity. Would like to have a bulk meta data editor function. For example, if I have 750 videos whose producing studio is the same, I want to select those videos and apply the name of the studio to those videos. Similarly, if there is a custom tag I want to apply to a subset of those movies, I want to be able to select them in bulk and apply the tag to those videos (instead of selecting them one by one).1 point

I moved from Plex to Emby and even though I think Emby is superior in its flexibility there are some things I like better with Plex, especially in terms of its looks. This theme is trying to fix that by making it a bit more similar to Plex but with some, in my opinion, improvements. The CSS is attached to this post for anyone interested and below are some screens to show it off Good to know I only use Chrome so I can't guarantee this CSS works as expected in other browsers. If you want the sidebar menu to look like in the screens, make sure to pin the sidebar. Watched badge/banderoll is inverted which means that the badge will not be shown if media have been watched, like in Plex. For desired look, please use the "Dark" theme for both Theme & Settings theme in the display settings. Emby-Stable-style-v3.6.txt1 point

You can't do them all at once because that would hammer the sites hosting the images and they've asked us not to let this happen. The two possible approaches that I see are either for Emby to support the .actors folder or for TinyMediaManager to create those images in metadata/people ahead of time. There are pros and cons to both of those. One issue with the idea of Emby supporting the .actors folders is that in Emby there's only one image per person. That means for example if you have multiple movies and tv shows with Tom Cruise, the image that you'd see in Emby for Tom Cruise would be the first one that happens to be imported, and there'd be no way to control that. I personally don't have a problem with that but I don't know if that's going to be acceptable to users who have the .actors folder.1 point

Yeah, I just checked and saw there was one. I also updated ffmpeg at the same time and the problem is fixed now, thanks. Updated: emby-server: 4.7.14.0 -> 4.7.14.0_1 ffmpeg: 6.0,1 -> 6.0_2,1 ffmpeg4: 4.4.4_2 -> 4.4.4_3 Wasn't sure which ffmpeg version emby used, I assume 6.1 point

When you set a user allowed devices, when they login on a non allowed device the error says their password/username is wrong. I would expect it to say, this device login isnt allowed by your admin, or something to that.1 point

I i found the culprit. This makes zero logical sense to me, but proxying my traffic through cloudflare (regardless of any cache setting) broke seeking for me. With it turned off it's working fine now.1 point

I just rebooted my computer and emby updated to 3.0.21 and then wouldn't launch because windows defender flagged it as a severe threat. I whitelisted the emby application folder and restored the exe file and ran it, and when I try to play any video it just shows a spinning wheel. I uninstalled completely and reinstalled and got the same result. I uninstalled, then downloaded 3.0.19 from github and it's working fine.1 point

It does actually. It has been very busy for me lately, so I didn't take the time to read through properly. However, sorry if I sounded butt-hurt in the end. Just a very stressful, private situation for me. You're absolutely right to point out that actually all my questions were answered in the OP. Apologies to you1 point

@EasyCodex @Locutus64 Ping! @Jackson59 I can't reproduce this issue I am afraid. Please test the new version and make sure you are on the latest emby version. @emLmSx Please make sure that you have selected dark theme both for "Theme" and "Settings theme".1 point

Hello guys! I am sorry that this update took a bit longer than usual but please note that I don't use Beta and I only do this for you when I have time. Please take that in consideration. Enough of that. I have now made updates to both the stable and beta version. The beta was a big update as a lot of things changed but I think it should all be good now hopefully. For some reason I cant edit the main post (do you know why @Happy2Play?) so the updates can be found attached to this post instead. Let me know if anything is not working correctly Emby-Stable-style-v2.8.css Emby-Beta-style-v2.8.css1 point

If you have library with mixed content then yes but if you seperate your content into specific libraries then a per library default audio language would be perfect. For example if you have an anime library it would be easier to have an option to set the whole library default audio language to Japanese than it would be to individually set each series to Japanese one by one1 point

I found it in case anyone wanted to know, and was stupid enough to change their port like me to test and couldn't get back in, here is the way to edit it back to get your Emby back up! C:\Users\(your system)\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\config\ >(system.xml)<1 point

Hi, I indeed fixed it yes. If you download emby to you android phone (download the one with the white Logo background as there was 2 when I did this) Log in a yourself and the unlock option was there to purchase.1 point

Then the solution for you is simple. Switch to Plex. It will make you much happier and reduce the level of electronic pollution on these boards. I used Plex for almost 4 years and a bigger set of cheats and crooks I have never heard of outside of the USA congress or some of the State houses. I find Emby to be, by far, the best and easiest to use media manager/player on the planet but it is not for everyone so, if you feel that "Emby is rubbish," then you just need to use one of the others.1 point

Strange.. I'm getting worse and worse every version off addon. With kodi 19 on nvidia shield and embyforkodi everything was perfect. Kodi 20 on shield 2019 pro seems to have problems: kodi itself does not run if closed few seconds before even in new installs. I have frequently hangs on stop with emby content for net timeout (on local network). This does not happen on raspberry with libreelec on same network, both cabled. Now I also have sync problems if not forced to do full sync. quite a mess, but i'm on beta. Emby does work greay, but not emby forkorkody and kody 21 on shiled (maybe is a kodi problem). Maybe since emby app is good, could be better to focus on it and enhace it so we can avoid using kodi and its plugin. Emby app only miss audio-video sync shift, better and more configurable time shift (just copy kodi forward, rewind with right back up down keys). Maybe embyforkody will be stable in future, I don't know, but it is lot of time I coninue updating and resetting my devices hoping in embyforkody and results are far from perfect. I really love quickmic work anyway and if I can contribute let me know (i'm already emby premiere obviously).1 point

We've just submitted an update to Samsung. Unfortunately over the last 1-2 years their typical turnaround time has been 6-8 weeks, and that's if we get through on the first try . They used to be much faster. We'll see what happens. With any luck, maybe you'll have the update by Halloween.1 point

Actually I think that it does. All of the information that is there needs to be there. We can't take any out. However that doesn't mean it all gets displayed. We don't display the value of PlayMethod anymore, but it is still used in the code and can't be removed. In most cases the code is only checking if PlayMethod equals Transcoding and doesn't care about the other possible values...so in theory PlayMethod could be removed and replaced with a new value that is just a yes or no. But that's not easy to do when you've got apps on lots of platforms, including some apps on some devices that can't be updated anymore. I'm not going to risk breaking them over this. It's just like anything else. You start with a foundation, make little changes over time as things evolve (but within reason), and then when it gets to a point where you need to completely replace it in order to do new things, then you do that, and that's when you get a chance to rethink all of these little things.1 point

Bad timing, but congrats on the upgrade. A lot of 2023 models aren't in the store yet. Once the region updates are done then Luke will submit an app update for all models. Hopefully that won't be too much longer.1 point

I'm sure you are fully aware of the profiles - but to get them in one place on this thread (and tested from real API queries) - I've taken the liberty of listing them below. I will stick with PLEX the player is free. I bought the Android app for a one-time fee of about $5 CAD and no restrictions as of yet. The FireTV (aka Android) app is as 100% free as the Windows app.1 point

The intel arc a380 is a $120 usd gpu that can encode av1. There are higher end arc gpus but the 380 is very cheap, obtainable and low power. This av1 stuff would be of most importance to your highest paying users with lots of streams/clients to best utilize resources and bandwidth. As Carlos has said, the percentage is low because there's no reason to add hardware with these capabilities... emby can't support it. What percentage of embys income comes from the people with 15 year old machines vs the people with 5000 dollar servers? That 1% statistic doesn't have much relevance when you think of it this way.0 points
