@Lukeand @SamES Thank you - everything working with USB Version. P.S. I've lost 2 days with trying to install USB version, because I'm on Mac OS. The problem is that you can format USB to FAT 16 (in a my case ExtFAT), but when you copy tizen.zip and unpack it over usb, the stupid Mac OS Strat to create shadow copy of all files with prefix ".widget.license" and ".emby.tmg" and this was my problem, because stupid Samsung is trying to install ".emby.tmg" and not original "emby.tmg". This DOT before file was created by Default in Mac OS for cache. I used software called "Blueharvest" to remove all cache files with DOT prefix, after Extraction of file tine.zip do Eject of device and everything was go smooth. So you can add this as information for Mac OS users as well. Thank you again and Cheers2 points

Intresting swaping from fire tv to android app worked kinda well and getting direct play now with DTS-HD. Another thing for some reason it fixed my subtitles issues2 points

Hi, yes this is caused by the fact that the app actually has two windows, therefore it's window management is a little quirky. We are working on a new windows app that we hope to make available later this year that won't have this limitation.2 points

Just installed Emby from Australian store, massive thank you!2 points

TLDR: This will be in Emby Server 4.8, and actually, it doesn't require a server release, so you'll start seeing this option in Emby apps sooner than that.2 points

Hi guys, Ultimately we want this to be handled by smart views where you can design your own views based on a saved filter set and sorting... however since we're not there yet, we're going to add this to the upcoming 4.8 server release as a configurable home screen section, so look for it there.2 points

We are currently backporting the fix in the beta packages to the stable packages. There were actually too issues, one caused by truenas using an EOL freebsd release, the other caused by skia and libjpeg being very temperamental.2 points

Be able to create playlist based on a certain criteria, like genre and or year, in order to create a dynamic playlist that it refreshes automatically when new content is added. This way you can for example, create a tv comedy playlist from the 90's, or a new sci-fi Movies playlist. Some other criteria for rules could be the rating, watched/unwantched, score, tags, language, audio codec, etc The possibilities could be endless1 point

+1 Separate upload button - definitely accessible on mobile devices Configurable per User/Library (there are libraries where you can never use subtitles) Hen adding subtitles have a button to specify language - so users dont have to add suffix before upload Thnaks1 point

How can you not, sir? I'm only talking about the colour scheme, not other modifications... I would just like, and so would many other users, a nicer dark theme with color accents. In the app there is either just a grey or black theme. For example Catpuccin Moccha is very nice! And I'd also like to ask on pc I can put folder icons with pictures on folders with movies etc but in android tv app I can't see those pictures so would it be possible to make it work?1 point

It is odd that it is only this stream on this device. Thanks for getting back to me.1 point

Updating boxsets/collections is still a "manual" process (plugin menu -> sync -> manage libraries -> refresh boxsets). They should be updated on Kodi restart, but not in realtime.1 point

Seems so be an issue with the context menu "skin" xml. Actually, this code is one of the very last parts next-gen still shares with 4.X versions and seems to be buggy. I'll check...1 point

I'm having and issue with the Emby context menu items. This is only affecting the Emby option, all other items in the context menu don't display the issue. plugin 8.2.15 server 4.8.0.45 client Shield 2019 pro, Android 11 Step: Open movies library Hard Press on any video Select "Emby options" Here's a pic from the default skin Estuary. Items are selectable, but you can't see them anymore because they are white text on white background. All skin options are set at default (I don't use this skin). The transparent line is the one in focus. Here is a pic from Artic Zephyre Reloaded skin. Notice the background is transparent from the point of the highest poster (the one with focus) on down. So, the last two items (Watch together and settings) don't have the background color of the rest of the items in the context menu. Also, see the badges line. All the ratings items disappear when I choose Emby options. This doesn't happen with any other contest items. Now here is a pic of what all other context menus look like. Background color is present. Ratings badges are still good.1 point

Hi, I've just started using Emby and I'm really enjoying all the features it offers, however I do have one small thing that I think could improve the user experience of using Emby Theater on the desktop. The downloaded version (not the MS Store version) currently does not support snapping the window in Windows. As someone who has things set up differently depending on the situation, I really like to be able to move my windows around. Would it be possible to add snapping functionality to Emby Theater? Thank you!1 point

Of all features, I figured there was something unique that was preventing this... Happy to hear this is being worke don.1 point

It works great and is very reliable. The main limitations are if you want to play Dolby Vision, TrueHD, DTS or graphical subtitles like PGS as none of these are supported by Samsung.1 point

FWIW I also experienced this with an HDR file on the iOS app recently after not having any issues in the past (it’s a file that the Emby app played fine in HDR on my Roku TV).1 point

It’s just an idea at this point. It would be more flexible but of course the current priority order is how the vast majority need it.1 point

I am excited to hear the news. Can't wait to try this version out. Is it possible to update this ticket when it's available? Thanks guys1 point

OK yes I can see that it's missing. We'll add this as part of the 4.8 server release. Thanks.1 point

Hello, I confirm what reported by blgentry: new&upcoming folders with just 1 trailer, archive folder populated with trailers of movies released before 2018. Just a note: while the trailers in archive folder apparently work correctly, the one in new&upcoming folders cannot be played giving a no compatible stream... error. Thanks Maurizio1 point

I'm going to add to this. Currently at home, we've been using SageTV since it came out, and I'm looking at switching to something that's a bit more managed, and can handle the load of files I have. I tried Plex, and just didn't like it, so I tried Emby. I'm really happy with what I see and all, but a major feature from SageTV was you could record certain series and prevent them from being auto deleted, even if running out of space. Similar to what @mklatskysaid, I was hoping you guys might develop (or have) a feature to prevent a series from being deleted entirely, even if out of space. I'm currently using the Beta version, and the only option I see for setting how many recordings to keep is the "as many as possible" which --to me -- doesn't seem like a guarantee.1 point

He sideloaded it. We are working on getting the update released to the store as quickly as possible. Thanks.1 point

Hi, I think generally speaking this is a long time to wait, but it has been increased slightly in the upcoming 4.8 server release. It is still under 1 second though.1 point

Is this still being worked on? I don't see the releases for it anywhere on the Github Repo. Nevermind... My dumb brain didn't read the 'in the catalog' part.1 point

Regarding AV1 Encoding AV1 encoding in > realtime speed is going beyond the limits of even the latest CPU models unless there's significant downscaling before encoding. Less than 0.1% of Emby users have hardware available which supports AV1 hw encoding Emby uses HLS for streaming and I'm not aware of any client player which is explicitly supporting AV1 on HLS. Maybe the "eat-anything" MPV player can do it, but even when it would, it would still be < 10% of clients. Doing the Math: 0.1% of servers times 10% of clients makes: 0.01% of cases: If we would spend effort on developing this now, only one out of 10,000 playback situations would benefit from this work. In a few years, the situation will possibly be very different. But for now - AV1 encoding is totally off.1 point

Many times it has come up in this thread as a possible alternative to HEVC. However, it has its own set of challenges as well. This topic should have actually been labeled "Transcode to a more bandwidth efficient codec" because that is really what it is discussing but people often just see what they think is a solution to their problem and ask for that specific implementation. We should always be looking for the higher level problem and find the best solution to that.1 point

Thanks for the feedback. It is possible, but usually I end up feeling like the time is better invested on new ways of playing that don't require the extraction in the first place. It's just unfortunate that on some devices such as LG, those newer techniques can't always be used.1 point

Hi guys, great news. Emby for Samsung is now available in the store for more countries. If you're in any of the following countries, please check and see if it's available now for your TV: Argentina Australia Canada Czech Republic Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Iceland Ireland Italy Netherlands New Zealand Poland Portugal Spain Sweden Switzerland Turkey United Kindgom United States Virgin Islands Let us know. We are working on adding more countries so stay tuned. Thanks !1 point

Just adding a couple more images to illustrate how remarkable the difference is with the colours. The more blue tinted is Infuse which looks correct compared to the source file and the more green tinted image is Emby on IOS which just doesn’t look correct at all. Thanks, hope this can be fixed as it is the only thing keeping me from using Emby exclusively on all my devices!1 point

Hi, more control over home screen sections is planned for future updates. Thanks.1 point

Do we know if this is being officially added at any point as a standard feature within Emby and if yes any ETA? @Luke1 point
