  1. Yep, that link does nothing for me over here in Yankee land.

  3. So I have some playlists of music I want to download for offline play for when I don't have internet connection (like when I'm driving) - then I went to download the playlist I click the download button and it downloads all the albums associated with the playlist, however it does not actually download the playlist itself. Is this normal behavior or am I doing something wrong?

  4. My request is to be able to chose to add items to the home screen. Specifically in my case, I am thinking of playlists and collections. Here's some reasons I'd like to see this: The home screen is the first piece of the user interface a person will see when they pull up Emby. I often places movies in bulk into my media library. This sometimes means people never see the new movie I've made available. Happens a lot, actually. While all movies are searchable or can be found by sorting, I believe the interface would benefit from having the customization option. I have created a "Justin Recommends" collection and would LOVE to be able to put that on the home screen. By keeping this optional, no one is forced to use it. If you don't have a use-case, then it's just a feature. If you look at things like Netflix, many movies and shows get "featured" and by doing that, a lot of people end up watching that wouldn't otherwise (imagine if The Tiger King was just another buried documentary you had to hunt for, no one would have heard of it). I appreciate your time. If you've considered this before and decided against for reasons other than difficulty implementing the feature, I'd ask you to reconsider. I believe that being able to customize our servers helps us personalize and tailor them to our audience and our needs, and that helps promote a feeling of ownership. I also truly believe that this small change could lead to some powerful results. In my case, I know that it would be of huge benefit to accomplishing what I would like to do with my Emby server. Thank you.

  5. It is really cool that Emby has the ability to support multiple versions of the same movie. It would be nice to have a setting on the client side to allow the user to set which version should be selected by default. This could be as simple a user-entered string, or it could be a list of detected strings to choose from. It could allow multiple entries and it would choose them in the order entered. On the Kodi side, it would also be nice to get the "Choose the Best Version for Me" option that the Emby app has.

  7. It works mostly well on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 (without keyboard). But I have to double tap on the input fields to get the on screen keyboard to come up and when scrolling the highlight doesn't change but items can be tapped.

  9. @Luke: My God!!! I panicked! Suddenly everything was gone and now I set everything up again. My last resort was to factory reset my NAS and now it's working. Sorry for the false alarm!

  10. Yes, I should have done that. I will put something up in that forum. The biggest problem seem to be the inability for FF/Rew to work on audiobooks and the inability of Emby to keep the place in a partially listened to audiobook.

  13. He would be involved in it, yes. Since we have the feature for conversion, we'll take a look at how feasible this might be to make as an option and label as experimental.

  20. Probably advisable, but I don't think that is the reason for the flagging - as I have emby in my fqdn and I haven't been flagged once ... ?

  21. I agree with people who prefer the Android TV app. Lately the Androdid app (not TV) has made many steps forward (I test it every now and then, downloading it) but although it is more aesthetically appealing than the "old" Android TV and although it offers the possibility of managing the server, I encounter several problems which instead I don't match with the Android TV app. One of these, very annoying, is that the audio sometimes suddenly jumps for a second (I use an optical cable). Or that after some use the menu becomes slow and no longer fluid. I could turn a blind eye to the menu but I really can't get the audio skipping right. So I still prefer Android TV

  22. OK this is weird - I found another stream (from a forum post back few years back) and put that into a STRM file. Removed all of my test libraries and then added a Radio library using Mixed Content and its now magically working. It has slightly incorrect metadata but not to bothered by that. No idea what that happened maybe it needed another .strm to kick things into gear or something (FWIW this was the other stream I added - https://s2.stationplaylist.com:9460/guerrilla). Anyways seems to be sorted now. Thank you

  23. I saw the updated content and found that this feature has been added, so I have updated to the latest beta version. However, when it comes to multiple selection, I still feel inconvenient because the "select all" feature has not been added... I would like to add this button. Meanwhile, thank you for accepting the previous suggestion

  24. The above stream appears to work fine in Emby as the contents of an STRM. What library type do you have for Radio ? (I used mixed content) Have you tried a library refresh ? btw - I think the bbc streams are also geo locked - so they will only work from the UK, or possibly UK VPN (but these may also be blocked, not sure).

  25. Thanks for keeping note. Aside from these, live tv has been a pleasant experience.

  26. I am glad you solved your issues. I am very meticulous about my tags too but every once in a while I find an errant one but that is usually based on the original source of the files themselves.....in other words ones I where I did not rip the music myself and create that tags on my own. I have over 5000 CDs and when I loaded them into emby I began to find a few issues I did not know about because they never presented themselves with any other application I used to manage and play my music.

  27. There is a startup delay option available option (plugin config menu -> advanced -> Delay startup). But it's currently not recommended if you use simple IPTV. As you mentioned, IPTV always starts first, correct. There is no way to control it in a proper way. The current implementation of Emby's LiveTV uses (http) links for EPG for IPTV and pipes it through the plugins internal webservice (internal http server of the plugin). With this approach, IPTV addon can control the EPG update cycle. It triggers the updates by its own scheduler. If you delay the startup, IPTV could time out. However, I might change the EPG to a local cached xml file, but the plugin would need trigger the update of the local file periodically AND IPTV triggers another update depending on its scheduler. Not nice, but probably more reliable. I see what I can do.

  28. @Gilgamesh_48 You are correct on both counts. I couldn't imagine why there hadn't been other posts. And i can't image why Windows 11 is changing drive letters. This is the second drive letter to get changed. Thanks
    1 point
  29. Almost certainly the issue is that something has changed on your system. If it were otherwise then these board would, to use the vernacular, be "lit up like a Christmas tree." People are not slow to come to these boards when things go REAL wrong. If errors like you report were common it would probably overwhelm this board to the point of crashing it. If you really want the issue fixed you need to explain exactly what is happening as well as what client you are using and include logs covering the time it happened. But that error sounds like some/most of your drives have changed letter or somehow the rights to the drive you are using have been lost by the Emby server.

  30. I appreciate your response and will mark it as solved. I could not find a "Direct stream live TV" option on the Roku app. But it is working just fine as pictured, even if converted, so I'm good to go. I don't even understand the difference between converting and trans-coding, so I have to consider it amazing I'm able to get this far! And amazed Emby can make ATSC 3.0 work as well as it does. with all the machinations involved. Keep up the good work And thanks for taking the time to answer.

  31. Have you tested this to confirm? On the server in the user configuration in the server settings, set only these options (don't forget to save at the bottom of the page) You need to set these back after the test or they can cause other issues. On the TV, restart the app (or logout, then login the user) and try playback of a DTS file. Please select a file with only a single DTS audio track and no other audio tracks. The reason for this is that if the DTS track can't be played the TV will automatically play the next audio track and you won't know that this has occurred (unless it is a different language, commentary track, etc) Please check whether you get full passthrough DTS to your receiver, but also try just with the TV speakers and confirm that you also get audio. Please also check a few different DTS formats if you have them. Please let me know how these tests perform

  32. Its all in here - just pick and choose what you want. Looks like the latest one is a year old already. Sorry but I'm terrible at updating things. You can be pretty sure there'll be stuff in there that doesn't work any more. I you look through it, the bits in relation to this thread are in the section entitled '/* Movie and Series Details Page */'

  33. Essentially you need the external id's in the metadata editor to match what it was before in order for your watch states to be utilized.
    1 point
  34. Tried your suggestion, but it still gave me the unwatched state afterwards. Backup and restore is indeed a bit of work which is what I want to avoid. But I think I found a solution for my problem: I can confirm now, that after refreshing the metadata (and thus writing a new NFO file) the watch state will be kept when moving the file. I understand that the watch state is not written in the NFO, but somehow emby seems to think it needs to handle it as a new file maybe? My theory is the following: Either the NFO files from the stable version are different than the ones from the beta and lead to emby think that it needs to write the data again. When I take a movie that was indexed with the stable version, I have the "false" behaviour as written above. But when I move a movie that was indexed with the beta version, then the behaviour is as expected: the watch state will be transferred to the new location. I was able to reproduce this multiple times. Alternatively, but this I cannot confirm, maybe the NFO files were still from JellyFin. But that would not explain why they all received the datestamp when I installed emby and started to add them to the database. Either way, for now my solution looks like I have to refresh the metadata and get a new NFO file written for all entries.

  35. Are there any plans for a rating system where emby users can rate their content and synchronize this ratings with one of the big providers like IMDb or something else? It would be great that those ratings are used to recommend movies from the emby database for the user. The emby recommendation system that shows similar movies or series are bad. For example. I watched Blade and emby shows me similar movies like Pinocchio, ice age and American pie. None of these movies are similar to blade

  38. Today, we're glad to announce public availability of the new Emby WMC UI Beta. It started out as a spare-time effort of Emby developer softworkz, assumed to target only a niche audience of nostalgia and WMC fans, and hasn't been an Emby roadmap project. But over time, it has turned into something of its own kind, going far beyond just mixing-in some nostalgic visuals like a theme, but rather providing an authentic look and feel, the original modes of operation and behavior, or in short: the original, well known and beloved-by-many user experience from Window Media Center. So we've decided to officially release it under the Emby brand and now we are excited to invite you to join the public beta. 40. Do you have any rough ETA? I’ve seen this requested since at least 2020, and if I spend the money for Emby Premiere, I would like to have some idea as to when this is coming please.
    1 point
  41. 6 years later still no 265 or av1 live transcoding options. Just softworks acting like a douchebag and Carlos making long winded excuses. This would benefit SO MANY people and nearly ANY and ALL WAN streaming use cases. How about instead of spending so much effort arguing with your users, you put a little effort into giving them what they're asking you for? If you offered this, nobody would have any reason to use jellyfin. Why is this so hard to comprehend for you? I'm becoming irritated by this team's attitude and lack of respect for the community. I am considering moving to jellyfin due to this factor alone, forget thier superior streaming capabilities and the fact they are listening to their users... Softworks in particular is creating a very bad image for Emby and should be banned from using the forum all together. It's like reading trumps tweets.
