They actually are, your Misc Videos library has a path D:\Media Library\Misc whereas your Documentaries library has a path D:\Media Library\Misc\Documentaries - can't have a libarry wiith a path that is subset of another library path, they need to be at least same-level folders. Move your docus one level up, rescan.

That beta or change worked! It's now resuming the correct movie at the correct time. Tried it on both the test server(all defaults) and my own server. Im guessing the update will be pushed to the stable release sometime in the next release?

I know I am going to sound whiny, but I don't see how it's understandable. @softworkzposted the TVNext spreadsheet last year (August 28, 2022) which listed so many of the features as being completed, so I don't see how a full year goes by without it being integrated is understandable. Yes, there was a big security issue that had to be dealt with, but come on...

When you close a window in android it is still running in the background and android will not stop it until it needs the RAM for other apps. if you want to you can do a 'Force Stop' from settings --> apps

You still haven't really answered the question of what you plan to do with the m3u. If you plan to send them a copy of the file directly, then no, it can't contain your hard drive paths because they're not going to be able to reach your c drive.

I've been having some weird discrepancies between the Windows App Store version of Emby Theater and the Windows installer version. The App Store version tends to force transcoding (even when not necessary) whereas the Windows installer version does not, on the same piece of media. Similarly, subtitles for the App Store version seem to be very hit-or-miss, requiring subtitles to be toggled off and back on to function, or will just intermittently stop functioning in the middle of playback. Are any of these known issues? I like the way the App Store version controls better, but it seems to be the inferior version when it comes to playback. Using the latest beta of Emby Server and the latest versions of both apps.

well I moved Documentaries out of that folder and recreated the library without any subset issues....and everything is good with that library now. This doesn't explain why the shows would show up as shows in that one library but not all my other mixed-content libraries, but the primary reason I was on this adventure in the first place was just for the Documentaries library, so I will consider this a win now and the matter mostly closed. Those other libraries shouldn't be mixed content in the first place, so I'm going to destroy and recreate them, and consider these issues a thing of the past, unless I see them again at some point. Hi. I would also suggest to only use "Mixed Content" when you absolutely have to. If you only have TV or movies in a library, use those specific content types.

I'm trying to do an experiment for you with a-ha as I have most all their albums and mine all show up correctly in emby but it is on my stable server as I do not have music on my beta server. I tried to add a music library to my beta server but I cannot since for some reason it does not see any of my network locations or even all the drives connected physically to the machine....I will see if I can sort this out and try again for you.

Also tested this with an iPhone13 client, and the stuttering is gone there as well! Direct Play everywhere!

One step further, the Windows client is erroneously the Fulguris browser of my Android tablet, in the settings of the browser is another user agent shown. But my question is, how can a closed browser with no open tabs connect the sleeping Emby server and Synology after ~14 minutes of last usage? I have to go grocery shopping now, in the meantime I will shutdown the tablet and see what's happened, when I'm back.

That requires help from the ScripterX developer, so please report this in the main ScripterX topic in the plugins section. What I've done though is make sure that this error won't affect any other server functions like it was before.

This should make it a little more Discord-friendly. The update is targeting the 4.8 beta server so you'll need that to test it. Please try it out and report your experience. Thanks.

It's because I feel that the categories of these three software are a bit similar to EMBY. It's all warehouse management. Additionally, I need to use three different applications for three automation functions. It would be great if EMBY could provide a plugin or integrate automation into EMBY. This way, I can use these functions in an application. Another important reason is that I have not found a * arr program to replace sonarr. Because sonarr calls TVDB data. However, TVDB is not friendly to Chinese users in terms of both API and WEB. And I have already asked Sonarr, he does not intend to add data providers. That is to say, he only used TVDB API from beginning to end. I tried downloading EMBY's plugin development template, but due to my lack of knowledge in VS studio and software development. So in the end, I gave up trying myself. i will try, I'll make a timeshift just in case So if FlatHub is the incorrect way, can I start all over again with the correct way, but keep my current Emby settings? For example if I reinstall using the proper way and simply overwrite the Emby server folders my current settings will be kept? Thanks

yeah that's a good idea....I have VMs all over the place...I'll just put Emby on one of them and do a from-scratch test....gonna go to bed now though., but will try this tomorrow....thanks for tte assistance and all the crazy amount of time/work you've put into this product your responses seem to at least confirm that a TV show should display like a TV show, the same way across all like-typed libraries...I wasn't sure if there was some additional/advanced setting for a library that might dictate the way TV shows display

Oh I see. Sorry for my poor english. At first I was about to give up since my server was mainly for my parents to watch some Chinese shows. I personnally don't need to use it to watch. But then it occurred to me if I could to create some hard links for those files in another folder outside of my tv show folder (I tried creating soft links but didn't work) Firstly I created the .ignore file in those organizational folders, then I created a folder named "hard_links" outside of the tv show folder. Then I copied the organizational folders in the hard_links folder as in the tv show folder and created hard links for every single file in there except for the .ignore files. Then I added each organizational folders to my tv show library and let it scan. And it totally worked! But it is just a workaround and doesn't look pretty

A big portion on one piece and bleach are filler xD if I can mass tag 150+ episodes then I could be somewhat okay with that even though I would still have to find which episodes are and carefully select them to mark them as filler, manual edits like these can be a source of mistakes and the goal here is to know which ones are fillers before even watching. If I have to tag 150+ episodes one by one then I think you can understand it's not very convenient. If anime filler list could be scraped when I add a series to a library and auto mark those it would be cool. Again not crucial to human life on earth, I get it, but a nice to have.

I really don't think there is much you could glean from it but I just discovered an oddity that shouldn't be related but, who knows? I'm going to add you to the PM for the beta so you can install it and see if the change I just made has any impact. Thanks.

I can confirm that this is indeed still a issue with software encoding. As I have burn in ssa subs on for formatted subs font to show up. I even got the issue sometimes with hardware encoding on. However it was a hit or a miss with HW encoding on. This is on the latest emby beta server as well

It looks like the content that is able to be reproduced is being played faster and even skipping timeframe is more responsive. It looks like transcoding is kicking in better somehow, although this is empirical. I tried to launch 5 or 6 different titles coming from different file formats, bitrates and so on... I still get some Non compatible streams error on some items.

It sounds like this is a moot point now but I did find something that may impact transfer speeds and have made a change on the server beta channel.

Is there any update? Still not brightness controls for me on Android.

if you had a tv aerial then hdhr with dvbt would probably be your easiest option. as you say its a standalone device that doesnt need much maintenance but as that is ruled out then you are you are left with satellite or cable. given the timing, i'm guessing this post is also you https://www.hotukdeals.com/discussions/hdhomerun-with-virgin-media-connection-as-aerial-4158534 and the consensus there also seems to agree that virgin will not work with a hdhomerun. so that leaves you with dvb-s. you can certainly get dvbs usb tuners. i think i have one unused somewhere, i think its only single feed. i've never used it as i perceive the pcie tuner cards to be more reliable but i have no evidence to back that up. i have an octo lnb with eight feeds and two tv tuner cards in a windows pc, a quad and an octo which gives me 12 streams in emby. you don't say but i'm assuming you are running emby on either the pi or the synology? if there's no windows pc available then tvheadend is your only option i believe and i can see it both in the synology store and a guide to installing it on the pi https://thepihut.com/blogs/raspberry-pi-tutorials/how-to-stream-digital-tv-with-the-raspberry-pi-tv-hat this seems like your best option for a tuner https://www.amazon.co.uk/WinTV-Nova-S2-Model-supply-FreeSat/dp/B07MN1VMQF/ref=sr_1_3?crid=28VJZKSK1NM2P&keywords=dvb-s2+usb&qid=1688206327&sprefix=dvb-s2+usb%2Caps%2C88&sr=8-3 it gets positive comments with regards to use with a pi and tvheadend and buying two of them (assuming you have 2 feeds from your satellite dish) is in the same price point as a hdhomerun. i would go this way and you could always return the tuner if you have problems
