Everyone, I added a new feature to Bulky. It's called Explorer. You use it to explore your Emby libraries. Through this tool you can study how Emby links objects together and what is in each object. I build it just for fun. It's very helpful if you are building Emby tools. As always, the code is free if you want it. Vic4 points

I forked the release (I hope TeamB doesn't mind .. I'm just working on it for movies ..) So far so good - JS needs a bit of formatting but c# compiles so almost there .. edit .. hmm changing the JS elements over to Movies seems to have broken it good and proper.. Can't spend any more time on it today - but the framework is there.2 points

I also use the clicks method - but on the Roku clicks are 10 sec and can't be changed, so getting to end of the ads is 25 clicks (ITV) or 24 clicks (Channel 4)! Still quicker than fiddling around with random seeks, though. Paul2 points

People like different things. What some call simple / minimalist, others call dull / boring, for example. IMHO the new app looks unfinished, but thats because it is. It has display bugs here and there, it has navigation bugs here and there. The old one looks better and navigates better to me. If the new one really has to replace the old, I guess that'll be fine so long as it still gets refined (before and after its introduction), cause it needs it.2 points

Hi After the last update from 2 days ago of the client on Apple TV the size of the subtitles became very small and there's no option to adjust it. Can u please fix it ?1 point

Hi, It would be nice if there were a setting to allow access to the Images endpoint only when authenticated. Currently, you can read all images using https://my-emby-instance.com/emby/Items/1386486/Images/Primary. Since there are no UUIDs, one can relatively easily iterate over this and potentially spoof an entire server. Somehow not so great. Thank you.1 point

Found some time to test this today. The 4.8.0.43 beta is a better experience. This is specifically Proxmox 8 host (debian based), with emby running in LXC debian 11. Both using in-kernel amdgpu with 'mesa-va-drivers' & 'vainfo' installed to confirm functionality. The originally reported issue with 576i content being incorrectly stretched is now fixed. Awesome! Not entirely perfect though as with HW transcoding, the bitrate seems to be set too low/compression too high with visual artifacts and blocking, which does not occur with SW transcoding. I havent looked into the new config options that 4.8 offers, for HW H.264 encoding to see if that makes a difference. maybe tomorrow!1 point

Is it possible to have have Emby use the files modified date instead of its creation date? Here's an example, the image below is from Kodis videodb when files are added from Emby And this is Kodis videodb when Kodi scans the files in Sonarr can change the files date to when it was aired which is great when adding loads of old shows so recently added doesnt get filled up with stuff aired a while back. I might not have explained this well though . . .1 point

I just found other videos to watch, and found that the subtitle size of some other videos is just right. There may be a problem with the subtitles of my video, However, the size of the previous version is just right, and the size of the subtitles on the computer web is normal. 776c4b0c9bf7b6d7e6fec5654701bddb348acf3a1 point

I would try downloading and installing the latest beta again on top of itself. It should correct the image related errors in your log here.1 point

Don't know if it made a difference, but my ISP sent me an upgraded router about a month ago. That and I re-installed Emby Theater. Anyway, the good news is that I can use my phone to access all my content once again1 point

And what you just said hit home, Reaps. It just registered. You're right not all users will have the same order and CSS is most likely not User specific and no way to force order across all users (that I know of). So ya... makes sense to not even waste any time on this (tho like I was having fun playing with it)1 point
-
May I ask what would be the purpose of such (they generally can be targeted by Home Screen section numbers in custom CSS - div.homeSectionsContainer div.sectionX - which is user-dependent as not all users use same Home Screen section order)?1 point
-
No, as Emby doesn't recognize the concept of "replacements" or "upgrades", it's basically removing and re-adding same item - and Latest rows behavior is based on Date added, which, following what is previously said, will take into account that last item (upgraded version) "added" date. You can potentially use TimeLord plugin (personally never liked what that plugin does) or change Date Added manually yourself.1 point

I don't know if there was a new build out, but recording, stop recording and deleting all worked for me last night. Thanks to the team if they fixed it, or thanks to the software gods if they allowed it to fix itself1 point

yeah have a play, create a new plugin just for movies might be a good option.1 point

Yeah I usually do the manual mata refresh every 6 months or so..(don't use the auto) The plugin was built for.. (episode refresh) TBA titles, missed ratings, crappy ep thunbs.. If @TeamBwants to add movies I'm all good with that!1 point

I think the easiest way to look at this is to just refresh metadata based on the date added date. Yes, you may well be adding an 'old' movie/ TV series or even new movies not on 'release' day - and that metadata refresh will likely not be required - but there is no harm doing a one off refresh after x days. Using the core library built in function will ultimately do the same thing - but it will keep repeating, which I think is unnecessary.1 point
-
there is only "release date" this cold mean different things to different movies depending on if it was a straight to DVD/Streaming release or a cinema release. I did not include moves as there was no easy way to know which was which.1 point

After many years of use, I've never really noticed this tbh - but after testing it, you are spot on - it does pause lol. If I do need to do this - then I multi click, as each click is a set duration and for Ads especially, you get to know 'three clicks' gets you to the end of the Ads.. haha. When I want to 'find' a scene, then I always use the 'up' button to get to the chapters and if I then want granular ffwd/rwd (thumbs for every 10 seconds), hit down button, then left or right to ffwd/rwd - I then navigate using the thumbnails so I can see exactly where I wish to go. During all these navigations, playback continues. After I'm at the place I want to be - I then hit enter and it jumps to the location. I guess it would make sense to keep playing when you just ffwd/rwd and HOLD - but blindly ffwd/rwd isn't a major function that I personally use.1 point

So the mediainfo outputs are telling the story .. The DV CloneBD has two Video 'Layers' - Video #1 (BL) and Video #2. (FEL) HDR10 - the CloneBD only has the HDR10 layer (only video #1) MakeMKV detects the 2nd layer ( and combines both the BL+EL into a single layer video track) - if you look at the logs while it's ripping, it shows an entry when it does this. Only hardware UHD players can read these dual layer disks/files - thus the 2nd layer will generally just get ignored by most players - but I highly suspect this is what is causing your stuttering issues. You should be able to actual player the 2nd video track in something like VLC - it will look very odd, but it will play. So you have a few options - a) Rip using makemkv - this will get you a DV7 profile (HDR10 (BL) and DV EL)) b) Rip using ClonebD - HDR10 only c) Rip to Dual layer - then process again via Dovi-Script tools to make into a DV8 Profile I would suggest trying to make any DV file into a DV8.1 profile - using dovi-script tools - as this then makes it much more compatible with hardware based players - the shield has no issues with DV7, but other players will have. dovi-scripts/tools are available on the makemkv forums - I use them all the time. In summary, DV is a bit of a nightmare for those ripping UHD disks - it's all 'possible' and it all works fine - but you need to have experimented with it (as you are doing) to get the container and methods all working for your equipment.1 point

When FF or RW fast by holding the button down, you do have to press play when you get to the point you want to play from. There was a reason for this when it was implemented, but as @ebrsaid, it is the same for YT. I don't like the implementation personally in Emby or YT, but you do get used to it after a while and muscle-memory kicks in and you don't even notice it. If you just FF/RW via single clicks on the Shield remote, Emby will play when you stop clicking the remote, so there is a workaround of sorts.1 point

Good day, We install a modification that when copy & paste within the default theme will look fine on the dark themes regarding white background and font text color. Please test in this thread. As I test I copy & paste this: ====== Sorry for the delay, this will apply tomorrow, as the mod's team finish testing then I got busy ====== As above done within the default theme. My best1 point

Ok the problem has been resolved (almost). the main problem was caused by my browser (Safari), I used chrome and all started to work properly. I still had to add the network address 172.18.0.0/16 in emby under "LAN networks" to get every thing to work properly. Now I just need to figure out why safari is not working with jellyseerr. Thanks for all the help, really appreciated.1 point

My question is how to create an emby server that over 12,000 individual homes can access with their own login credentials and each home cane utilize 5 devices per home? Is this possible and if so how to go about doing so? In addition, are there any API documentation available on this and on the subject of integrating an existing e-commerce site for automation purposes.1 point

I did try searching... While watching TV episodes, at the end of the episode when the prompt comes up for playing the next episode or stopping playback, it has come up several times with my spouse what the current time is and how long is the next episode/when will that episode stop (current series we are watching has a variety of episode lengths)... This is info you see back at the episode selection, I think it would be useful to display during the next episode prompt.1 point

SB, You sign up to an automated extra rating service and any transphobic, racist, white priviledge, non-progressive, anti-environment, pro-gun, pro-life, pro-truckers, anti-minority, minority is shown as a bad person, if any non-progressive ideas are shown, if there are too many gas cars, if there are not enough non-whites in leading roles and did the dog die all gets added automatically. Look a little closer on what categories are already on the site. Auto tagging is different to my perference notice in a description. The issue here is not the remote site, but letting the remote site automatically update an Emby service. I don't care what the remote does. I think they are objecting to content that contain plot elements for a reason to bring up issues for the public to discuss. They are critizing art for not being as bland as they want. They can do what they want on their site. That is not the issue. If any of these auto tags show up inside Emby, even in a plug-in, many users will notice, leave and never come back to the service, or the software. Go woke, go ahead, go broke. Just like Target, and Bud light who together have lost over 20 Billion in stock value. If you don't think it's a big deal, fine. Let outside groups regulate what you can do or choose to watch. My objection is when any group automatically tags and tries to shame me from deciding what I wish to do. If I make that choice to put a couple of limited comments, it's my choice. To say there is no difference is just being silly.1 point

Just to let you all know that I've started working on a Theme for Emby-Theatre. It's not gonna happen overnight as I'm still getting my head around the code and also learning HTML and JS in the process. I've just about got the Home page the way I want it and also the Item's Details page finished. Just need to add in some extra collection views such as Coverflow, Banner and Details which i'm sure you will be familiar with if you've used Emby for WMC before. Anyways, here's a little teaser of the Item Details Page, it's come on a long ways since I made this screenshot and the top menu is now fully functional. Will keep you posted. http://i.imgur.com/7Y3AHYz.png http://i.imgur.com/tFitKzB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Q0IFTRk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VqfWYh4.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8BYFxts.jpg1 point
