using a known port number just gives away it's emby - ie 8920 or 8096 is 'likely' to be emby. Using 443 - means it's 'unknown' until queried - but the headers will give most things away regardless of port ...3 points

Hi everyone, just wanted to let you know that we are working on updating the package to just embed libjpeg-turbo so that we're not affected by the version that's on your system. Thanks.2 points

You may or may not be able to make Emby listen on port 443 but you can still forward port 443 to 8920 on your router. You also have to be careful with web redirect rules for your domain. Browsers can handle redirects just fine but apps might not be able to follow them and connections may fail. So you can stick with standard 443 at the router or server. Or you can define a subdomain to be used for web redirects while keeping the current domain for apps.2 points

Thanks, 1.6.1 fixed it. However, there does seem to be a weird line on the same settings page now with 1.6.1. It's at the very bottom of the first page of information you see when you first open the Home Screen settings and you can see it move up as you scroll down. It doesn't seem to affect anything, just a visual thing.2 points

I'd like to have the option to clear 'alerts' in the dashboard. I realize that they go away on their own, but if I can clear them then it's more obvious IF a new alert comes through.1 point

I was using Google Workspaces for storage but they have pulled back their unlimited storage option so I'm looking for ways to shrink my library.1 point

HI, that's already patched in the beta. I think we'll be doing a 4.7.14 release so we can get that fix included as well. This is only high in severity if you actually click on a link that takes you to your server and contains javascript in the url. That means someone has to send you that link first, and then you have to decide to click on it. Since you are the master of your own server, you're most likely not going to need someone to send you a link in order to be able to reach it.1 point

I noticed someone else asking about a query to view content that hasn't been watched and that not being possible without joining with the main emby tables. Is that something plugins don't have access to? I like many others am losing access to a lot of storage and trying to find a way to cull out inactive content. Thanks.1 point

Is there any update? Still not brightness controls for me on Android.1 point

There is no inherent security in port values. Hiding or obscuring the entry point with less well known ports only moves the fruit to another branch.1 point

I activated it the manual way and it's working so if thats all you did to the update I think I will wait unless there was other improvements Thanks Much1 point

Change the emby listening port to TCP 443, then there is no need to specify a port when using https.1 point

Did you look at the next article in the KB? https://emby.media/support/articles/Connectivity.html Your domain needs to resolve to your public IP address.1 point

Have so many TB worth of stuff it is seriously hard work to get this backed up and rebuild a whole nas. looks like I can't really resolve this without days worth of transfers and stuffing about.1 point

Hi, we are looking into this, but yes, the libjpeg-turbo downgrade could be a workaround for now. We'll get a fix out for this soon. Thanks.1 point

Please mark this issue solved. For him, logging into my server went without any issues at all. Pretty straightforward. Problem of the bad picture quality due to the bitrate setting has been solved with the suggestions on this thread. Since I had a Roku box myself, I was able to show him where to change the bit rate settings, so now he is getting HD quality live TV streaming. Thank you very much.1 point

Sorry my mistake. I worded it wrong, but that option corresponds to the current 4.7.13 behavior.1 point

That works. At least 97% and that's close enough. Had a list of 100 and 97 are back on the 1 playlist and the same on the other. I'll manually remove and readd the missing couple.1 point

Hi, can you try refreshing the metadata on the impacted playlists and see if that helps?1 point

Hi, currently we don't show favorite genres under favorites, although it's certainly possible for future updates.1 point

Hello @crusher11You can go to the series and filter on episodes (include item type - episode). This will list all of the eppisodes for that series. I hope this helps. Vic1 point

You should not use EnableAutoStreamCopy=true and Static=true in the same request. Static=true means you are requesting the video file with its original video, audio and subtitle codecs in its original container (file extension). EnableAutoStreamCopy=true means that based on other parameters, Emby decides if the video has to be remuxed or transcoded. But with EnableAutoStreamCopy you also have to tell Emby what file extension, video and audio codecs your player supports, so that Emby can make a proper decision.1 point

I find it interesting that @Luke responds when anything about android vs android tv is mentioned, but he is radio silent about the Live TV update which is the topic of this thread! Why might that be?1 point

Hi, success. I deleted emby (again) from my synology nas I then deleted a file in the config folder called system.xml I reinstalled emby and it is now working. I am now able to set-up emby.1 point
