Hi all Well, it's been some time since I last visited the Emby forums, and I must say finding this thread and the work done by @softworkzis a pretty big eye opener. Great job @softworkzand thanks for putting in the hard yards and no doubt countless hours to fill in the biggest pitfall this fantastic bit of software has! What a bloody shame my total awe has turned into total disbelief at the total lack of support from the Emby team to get this into the public arena for testing, get the worst of the bugs ironed out of it and get it released. This should have been fast tracked, not railroaded!!! Really? How about everything @Luke! Emby is great but the live tv set up we've currently got is not up to scratch (not even close!) when compared to the rest of the Emby experience. This TvNext though sounds like exactly what the Emby Live Tv experience should be like - that is to say Next Level! Get it done!!! Chris5 points

Say I have a custom collection of 56 Christmas movies. During the Holiday Season, I would like to show this on the main page as a Library. Now, I could make a drive folder called "Christmas" and put these movies in that folder. However, now we're getting away from using metadata for organization and moving back to using folders for organization. Something you've spent the last few years trying to get away from. So each collection should have a toggle to show it as a library on the Home Page. Then people can make collections for Christmas, Halloween, Summer Romance, Summer Slasher Films, whatever and show them on the front page where they are easily accessible. Don't want to show it anymore, switch the toggle off.2 points

Find it kind of ironic, every time there's the slightest problem with the Android TV app we get @Lukesaying trying sideloading the new version and see if it fixes it, yet with llive TV there's also a version we could use to see if it'll fix TV problems, yet all we hear is crickets, we've had crickets for years, and nothing ever changes.2 points

I've actually been playing with this - adding those 'rows' as dynamic emby Channels. Proof of concept is working ok - but nowhere near ready for any sort of release. @ebr - This has been 'in the works' for years now - I know you cannot give a date, but is this something that will make it 'this year' or is it still into next year or beyond ? Basically, I don't want to put a lot of effort into a Plugin that will get replaced in the Core ... ? Thanks.2 points

I think the server's resilience to this will be improved in the upcoming 4.8 release. Thanks.2 points

I'm a plex life time member, but I have been using Emby for over six years continuously, but there is a feature which I have always thought is missing in Emby which I would like and encourage the developer to consider including especially in this dispensation where families can social or commingle due to COVID 19. Today, I received a notification from Plex about it new feature titled Watch together you can read about it here https://support.plex.tv/articles/watch-together/ The feature allows friends and families at distance to watch same movies together instantly, you simply invite all your buddy, once they signed to the system which can be seeing in the server then play and pause as needed, this I think is cool feature should be added to emby. Let's here your though if Emby developer should consider adding this feature to our beloved Emby Media https://www.bing.com/news/search?q=Plex+Watch+Together&qpvt=plex+watch+together&FORM=EWRE1 point

This is an Alpha version so far. - Check the last posts for the latest version What it does is allow you to add external links like this, to people, movies, tv shows, episodes, albums (including audiobooks) , artists and games It has not been extensively tested!!! and is still a bit rough round the edges with no real instructions I have not documented anything yet However you can use shortened urls / redirectors etc !!! For security reasns please bear in mind that external links can be hijacked, malicious code injected etc so please verify your sources before adding them to your server !!!! It has some custom fields too so you can create your own links Its is no where near finished, there is still a lot to do, its jsut posted here for testing for now. Provider_Ids_Extender(12Aug2023).zip 18-02-2024 Update Added a few more Ids and a section for tracks - see thread for details (page 3) Provider_Ids_Extender(18-02-2024).zip 19-02-2024 Update Fixed typo is Custom Id 3 of Artists Added Generic Youtube url to artists (so now can either add channel or generic youtube url - youtube.com/{0}) Added Amazon to Albums and Artists Provider_Ids_Extender(19-02-2024).zip1 point

I'm not sure how many people use the site doesthedogdie.com, but it is very useful for looking up any triggers in a movie. It has a long list of possible triggers, like animal deaths, drug abuse, suicide, self harm, etc. My wife is traumatized if she sees a dead cat so for every movie I have to look it up prior on doesthedogdie.com, I have issues with suicides.1 point

Hello, I'm missing a very useful sorting method for a long time. As described in the title, it would be very useful to have an option to sort by date when movies have been added to the favorites. Currently sorting by date is only possible in regards to the date when titles have been added to the library. Is this possible within one of the next releases? Does Emby even store the information "date" / "timestamp" when a title is getting flagged as favorite?1 point

I do. I have three different tv-show folders but none of them relate to music/live shows/concerts etc. The current folder holds all of that which is why it would make sense to have the folder with all half time shows there as well. I'll try making a new library that's mixed. If it works then I'll move all music content over to that one instead.1 point

Found out the hard way (usb plain stops working), but yes, Emby is now available in Samsung Store in Canada. This is a game changer. Thanks to all involved !1 point

I'm hoping to get to smart views and playlists after 4.8.1 point

I think mixed content type would probably work, but I don't deal with them much so can't be sure how movies would be treated in a mixed content type library. I think it's preferable to keep movies in a movies library. Do you have another TV show library?1 point

Yes - I had already thought about that, and that is probably the only sensible solution at all, since there will probably be no new MediaInfo for the Synology. Especially as the Emby servers I had running under Windows only needed a fraction of the time to read everything in. And an i7 8700k with 32 GB RAM should have done the job very quickly.1 point

New RBJ version - 1.0.1.32 (Work In Progress - Still testing this but working well thus far ..) Added Provider Links In collaboration with @mickle026Extended ProviderID Plugin - this plugin now creates suitable Sonarr and Radarr Emby links to your local install of these Media Managers. Toggle on/off under Item Tagging & Item Links Sonarr Added to each episode and series - and will take you to sonarr's URL for that TV series. ie http://localhost:7878/series/13-reasons-why Note - Base URL is defined by the ProviderID Extention Plugin - this plugin just adds the metadata. Radarr Added to each Movie - and will take you to radarr's URL for that Movie. ie http://localhost:8989/movie/136400 Note - Base URL is defined by the ProviderID Extention Plugin - this plugin just adds the metadata. ... Applies to New items only out the box - you can re-processed items or all items in the plugin if you wish once tested. To Do Full testing - but spot testing is 100% Need to add to TV Series Parent (as currently only does Movies and Episodes) Post ZIP once tested .. Possibly add the ProviderID Extension (Sonarr & Radarr) directly into the Plugin.1 point

Again, we're planning more of a smart view feature rather than just a Playlist.1 point

I know how to do this and can add it as an option when I have got time, but thanks for this. I dont think I will ge time this week, full on back at work now. I was thinking you had scripted it to add in to the nfo, thats my bad and could maybe help @Maarten, if he cannot do it, I'll add it into to my plugin eventually anyway.1 point

Theres a lot of assumptions in my initial post: 1. You are using linux 2. You are running in a docker container 3. You have an empty media folder root that you mount rclone into Assuming all of this is true, and assuming my note about emby not deleting content when root is missing, the first option of mounting differently would prevent media from deleting upon dismount as it would essentially unmount that entire root folder path on crash. The second script I noted would automate the fix for you. e.g. [ ! -f /mnt/media/Movies/mounted.bin ] && remount.sh ### This line basically says if /mnt/media/Movies/mounted.bin doesn't exist then run remount.sh, if it does exist, do nothing. The below script, which would run if mounted.bin is missing, would stop emby to prevent media deletion, remount the media, then start emby. I've modfied the last line slightly to check for mounted.bin before starting emby back up, so if the remount fails for any reason emby will stay stopped. Descriptions added after ### docker stop emby (assuming emby is in docker container) ### Stop emby fusermount -uz /mnt/media/Movies ### force unmount any remnants of the rclone mount sleep 2s ### sleep for 2 seconds to ensure clean unmount completion rclone mount remote: .... or systemctl restart name_of_rclone_service ### remount rclone mount [ -f /mnt/media/Movies/mounted.bin ] && docker restart emby ### if mounted.bin exists, then restart emby1 point

No but once in Emby you can have a merged view of your media and you can also have multiple paths in each library. For example: /volume1/media: /media1 /volume2/media : /media2 Library Movies - /media1/Movies - /media2/Movies1 point

How would that be different from a "Smart View" if we allowed you to put them on that suggestions page as well as the home page?1 point

Thanks for the reply. I figure as much, but I'm just adding to the pool of people with the issue. Disney does allow downloads, but we have an extensive library....1 point

HI, yes the issue is that it's calculated based on the last one you watched, and once that's gone, then it looks like an unwatched series. It's something we need to look at improving.1 point

OK i think I found something. Please let me know how the next build compares. Thanks.1 point

Yes. Within any library Filter>Playstate (Any/Played/Unplayed/Continue Playing).1 point

I've noticed this before (when deleting watched live recordings I don't want to keep). As far as I can tell, the next up in a show is the first one after the last one watched. If you delete all the previously watched episodes in the show, Emby no longer knows that you were watching it! Paul1 point

I didn't think emby did this if the root folder was missing. If in your scenario when rclone unmounts, but the root is still there, you will want to change that behavior. e.g. If rclone is mounting to remote:Movies to /mnt/media/Movies, change it to mount mount remote: /mnt/media with flags such as --allow-non-empty if /mnt/media has other folders and/or --include=Movies/** if your remote has other folders you don't want to appear. Alternatively you can make a script to remount. e.g. Linux example, make a file in Movies called "mounted.bin" [ ! -f /mnt/media/Movies/mounted.bin ] && remount.sh The above would ideally be in a bash file and set as a cron job to check every minute. remount.sh would be something like #!/bin/bash docker stop emby (assuming emby is in docker container) fusermount -uz /mnt/media/Movies sleep 2s rclone mount remote: .... or systemctl restart name_of_rclone_service docker restart emby1 point

New RBJ version - 1.0.1.31 (zip attached - copy your old DLL to .bak and extract to emby plugins folder) Added Edition - retrieved from filename (added by arr 'Edition Tags' rename for example) ("Extended Cut", "Director's Cut", "Directors Cut", "Special Edition", "Extended Edition", "IMAX", "Anniversary Edition", "Despecialized Edition", "Remastered") Added as {edition} in video title - see below Toggle on/off under Video Display Settings You can also add as an Emby Tag if required (allowing you to filter etc) Added Codec Video Profile as a full Tag (as emby still doesn't have the ability to AND filters, only OR - making it all but useless ...) Included now if you opt to include Arr Quality Tags .. (if people don't want this, then I'll add a configuration option ...) Enhanced Added the Channels to the full Tag for Audio - for the same reasons as above - Emby cannot do an AND filter - so filtering on lets say 7.1 will show both THD and DD+ Items - there is no way to filter on 7.1 AND THD (only). There is now using Tags .. ... Applies to New items only out the box - you can re-processed items or all items in the plugin if you wish once tested. Feedback or suggestions welcome .. edit 27/07 - Added a few more 'Edition' versions such as 'Ultimate' etc. Emby.MediaInfo.dll.zip1 point

Both files opened fine with previous version of the app. This is the case with half of my library after 1.0.39 update, I just provided 2 examples of 2 different profiles and containers. Both mp4 and m2ts(with pgs subs disabled) are supported by tv. Audio is not an issue in this instance (check photos of the screen and mediainfo). I switched to plex for the time being and all the DV files play normally, like they did with emby before update.1 point

Thanks for the reply, Luke. I'll look into adding a feature request, if "Separate the Username from Display Name", hasn't already been added.1 point

I noticed there's a new plug in called "Bulky Editor." Don't know who put this together, but the fact that someone wrote a plug in to get it done now almost 8 years since the original request ... well, it says something. This should be baked in.1 point

Couldn't agree more .. thats why I still use the plugin.. We just need to convince the core Devs .. ;)1 point

well the android tv app supports end credit display if the data is fed about when the credits start. currently its possible to do it manually using chapterapi plugins but it would be so much easier if its done automatically like the intro skip function....... I dont know why you lose interest in doing the plugin. I think it s a cool feature you have already done it in the introskip plugin and works fine and accurate for most shows. I think a lot of ppl would find this helpful especially for shows which has long end credits while binge watching.1 point

Yes, but thats not the point. The point is, as I'm sure you're aware, is that one is being worked on, and the other is being ignored.0 points
