If you are still on Emby server beta .19, I think it's save to upgrade. Anyway, if you do so take a FULL backup of Emby server. Otherwise not possible to downgrade if you run into issues.

Sorry to be blunt but it's getting really annoying. I've mentioned this before a couple times starting about a year ago. I have a playlist with about 20 shows inside. Says 3700 episodes up top. Been using the playlist for weeks now and not only does it play the same episodes over and over again but it only plays from 5-6 shows. To add to that sometimes it will just play from 3-4 shows unless I start and stop and then it will adda couple other series. Some series not even one episode has been played. My apologies if this has already been requested, but it would be great if—like videos—we could see the format and quality of audio files. I've recently migrated from Subsonic, and it provides this information (see attached image). Some reasons why you might want to see this: When manually "deduplicating" it's nice to know the quality or the format (e.g., FLAC vs. MP3) to ensure you delete the correct file. Thanks to Spotify/Tidal/(insert you favorite streaming service here), I've been purchasing lots of used cheap CDs. I have a *huge* music collection, so in addition to checking to make sure I don't already have an album, it's nice to know the format in case I purchased a lossy version back in the day. Ditto for compilations. For the same reason above, when creating playlists, I prefer to add the highest quality song—eventually I'll deduplicate my collection, so I want to make sure I don't remove the version in the playlist. NOTE: if this has already been requested, kindly point me to the post and I'll "like" it.

Hi @Luke, I would also welcome a control over this setting, since I am usually using Emby on Android while laying down and holding phone -usually the phone is in landscape mode, but sometimes when I move it switches unintentionally to portrait mode and I have to "wiggle" it to get back to landscape. thanks for considering this

Sold by Amazon under generic brand names like, "IDEALROYAL." Amazon may be the only US retailer selling them though. Otherwise I bet they are on Aliexpress and such. The only reason I make the distinction is that I see Rockchip SoCs in legitimate devices all the time and if it's is someone's first exposure to the brand it would give the wrong impression maybe.

This is attributed to the wrong companies. Allwinner and Rockchip are semiconductor companies that make the SoCs found in these Trojan Android devices sold by Amazon. It would be more accurate to say, Amazon T95, Amazon X12-Plus. Attributing it this way is like saying "Amlogic Chromecast with Google TV." It's obviously a Google product with an Amlogic S850X2.

I wouldn't like it for music, I don't think. But I use playlists mostly as watchlists for movies and prefer the bigger poster and extra metadata I'm seeing now. The ideal would be a selector to move between the views as needed.

No, it didn't happen like that. ScripterX is a plugin which loads and updates individual functionality as "packages" from its own "store" which is not under control of Emby. What you could argue at max is that a plugin like this shouldn't have been admitted to the catalog.

Do you have your media stored on the same drive (partition) as Windows? If yes can you move them to another location as Windows reset removes all Apps and settings but it does apparently keep your personal files. I'm guessing that anything in My Documents, My Pictures or My videos would be safe. You would have to reinstall Emby after Windows has reinstalled but then restore Emby settings from the backup plugin. Don't forget to make sure that all your media is back in it's original location before starting up Emby. If you have a spare HDD or better still an SSD you could just remove the existing HDD and install windows from a USB stick then put the old drive in as an extra drive. A 120GB SSD is plenty enough room for Windows, in fact I have an old PC from about 2010 running W11 from a 60GB SSD.

+1000 Playlists should go back to looking like Play Queue still does, please. I am in Android app 3.3.07. This new playlist look is not at all helpful or user friendly, on mobile devices of any size.

Hopefully this will help others. I got the email plugin to work with a 2FA account. If you have 2FA turned on go here https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords Setup an app password for emby and use that password with the email you're trying to use for sending emails.

Of coarse Scripter-X can ‘download’ from the internet (any file), It runs a ‘script file’ or ‘program’ in the interpreter selected (cmd/powershell/bash/sh …) and it will run under the permissions that the Admin has granted (may very well be able to wipe the libraries and cripple embyserver and more) and the programs/script run can certainly include ‘wget’, ‘curl’, ‘git’, etc. BUT KEEP IN MIND ! : emby has to have already been comprised to get to there… so this brings up the question previously asked in this thread, but a little more specific: Has the stable version (4.7.11.0) been patched for the ‘security risk previously identified’ ? It doesn't appear so..

It appears it would do the job, but you can do the same thing with old PC hardware and make your own NAS. You do not have to have it directly plugged into your NUC, as anything on the network would suffice. Unless you want the really small form factor. I would look into recycling older hardware first if you have access to it before spending money. I would look into UNRAID, OMV or even TrueNAS. Though you could also just make a windows or linux dummy box to hold your storage.

I moved the card to Rocky Linux 8 and moved my Emby install and then installed the Nvidia Linux drivers. Hardware transcoding works fine there. The card is a Zotac RTX 3060 and I see in excess of 600 FPS transcoding speeds.

Another note, I think it also might have something to do with the Android ARCVM that Google uses to run the new Android 11 on my Chromebook. It recently updated, and I remember the videos playing okay before the update. Before it was on Android 9 using ARC++

I switched my Downloads to the external folder, and I was able to download and play the file using VLC Another note, it looks to be just my DVD rips, my 1080p Blu-rays converted to AV1 are playing just fine. So, it looks like it has something to do with the lower 480p resolution file, I re-ripped an episode, upscaling it to 720p and the video showed properly.

I really hope Yellowstone Season 5 first half is the build up for an explosive second half... I found it pretty uneventful and also soooo many cut scenes of roping cattle, fairs, singing and scenery. But i think there is a good foundation now to get back to how the show was. On the otherhand..... MAYOR OF KINGSTON - That show is fricken amazing... hooked on it.

it is very poor but it has been brought up many many times before and we are told that this is the best they can do. i seem to remember luke posting that they had made some improvements to the randomness of the shuffle within the last year but i don't notice any change. i regularly shuffle from one series which has 14 seasons and between 6 and 8 episodes in each. i almost always get one of the same 10 episodes first up every time i do this and never had a single episode from a number of seasons at any point. so very similar to your experience but on a smaller scale i understand that true randomness and completing the playlist is difficult to achieve but the user experience is pretty rubbish here

Ok I found the fix. I will post it here just incase. Cloudflre changed how they cache video files, so Emby users that use Cloudflare now need to add a rule like below to make sure video is seekable and or playable. The below needs to be added to the rules tab on the cloudflare site where your domain is managed. Here is the text so you can copy and paste. You just need to change yourdomian for yours. *yourdomain.com/*videos/*/* *yourdomain.com/*Items/*/Images/*
