Yes but the opinions are as varied as you will find on audio. The style is unimportant (as long as both will stretch flat). It is all about the material. if it is in a completely dark room, some people prefer a gray material for blacker blacks. Realize that no projector can project "black". It is just projecting nothing (or close to nothing) onto whatever screen surface you have and it is just our imperfect eyes and perception that then interpret that as black. YMMV. I'd go to AVSForums and spend some time reading in their screen forum.2 points

I'm glad your current setup meets your needs, but I'm failing to see the purpose of this topic to begin with. Chat for chat's sake or keeping an online journal is generally out of scope for a technical support forum and are better suited for a vlog or a blog format, you might wanna consider exploring those avenues.2 points

Cheesey Productions brings you Vantage Point 2.0 PreRoll Intros for that Cinema Experience The original VP was both confusing and cumbersome to organise your PreRoll Intros. The new UI VP GLOBAL TAB VP MOVIES TAB Click on Add New Intro and then select from the following options YOU CAN GIVE YOUR INTROS A FRIENDLY NAME TO HELP YOU KNOW WHAT IT'S DOING Single Intro - Use this option to select a single video file to play Multiple Intros - Use this option to select a folder of video files. Hi all, So my MacBook only plays DV profile 5 (yay Thanks Apple, totally not a huge hassle). Which means that I have some profile 5 files, but (again thanks Apple) cannot stream them without it trigering transcoding. Not that big of an issue, i'll just open them locally. But now that I have the files anyway it would be cool if I could use them for my family. At the moment, when tonemapping begins for Profile 5, it will give the signature green and purple look. Jellyfin looks to have fixed that and I was hoping this could also come to Emby, especially snce your recent update mentioning Emby will now recognise and tag content as DV @Luke. No rush, it's not that big of a deal for me but maybe easy and nice to implement when you have the time! J1 point

@LukeWhile you are doing this can you add in Discogs id's in the meatadata editor and as provider id's ? https://www.discogs.com/release/12533362-4-Non-Blondes-Whats-Up Release id: 12533362 This would be very helful to me instead of having to read the Tags myself, the Catlognumber and ASIN would also be very useful but they are not essential Thanks Thanks1 point

Well, the latest Beta of Emby works, but as I got reply from Intel that they fixed the problem in general I can confirm that driver version 31.0.101.4314 and up should work even with Emby 4.7.11.0 w/o problems...1 point

Dolby Atmos (and DTS:X) is pretty crazy with the number of speakers it can 'position' but while I have no practical experience of a 'soundbar' (+ 2.1 satellite speakers) that can do 11.1.4 ( this means 11 head height speakers, 1 sub and 4 'overhead' speakers ) - I suspect the majority of it is pure marketing BS.. You only need to look at Dolby's own guidelines to see the 'angle' and location of every speaker needs to be set properly. Yes you can slightly alter the 'angle' of each speaker in the soundbar, but at the end of the day, 9 of them are coming from the same central location. https://www.dolby.com/siteassets/technologies/dolby-atmos/atmos-installation-guidelines-121318_r3.1.pdf The sound is then 'matrixed' from the 7.1 source to activate the appropriate speaker.1 point

ok thanks - so that's good if it's a case of inserting/deleting streams (as you can't just change the 'order' in this scenario) but for changing the 'Default' on existing streams, then this is way overkill. For MKV, then mkvpropedit can just change the headers without needing to Remux. Not sure about MP4, but possibly something MP4Box could do.1 point

I just sent some logs through the Roku send log option. Sent around 12:39ish AM from user Familia. I tried to play Batman, Lego Movie 2, M3gan, and 65. First I played Batman for a few minutes and then tried to use the resume playing feature for all the other ones. Only Batman would play. embyserver 5.5.txt1 point

Hello everyone - I have been away, but still had time for programming. I added to the plugin the ability to create new and manage existing Collections. I will soon add the ability to create and manage playlists. I have also fixed all reported bugs. Vic1 point

The purpose of these "splinters" is precisely to allow the emby team to realize that their economic model is no longer adapted to the use that the users make of it. A project that doesn't listen to its community (and your message proves that I'm not the only one to complain) is doomed to disappear in the short or long term. I'm not a fan of changing creamery every 4 mornings. I prefer to trust a tool that I use and that I am satisfied with most of its features. But when something goes wrong, I say it clearly. Having only happy people in front of you doesn't allow you to know the true thinking of the majority of your audience towards you. Accepting criticism and confronting opposing opinions is much healthier than locking yourself in your bubble of benevolence. To conclude, I confirm you that I migrated on Jellyfin, which is maybe not as successful as Emby, but which has the merit to be clear about its license: it is free. And the mere fact that this fork exists shows that I am far from being the only one to think that this licensing system is pure theft. I will be able to contribute to the project by integrating some features from Emby to make it more complete. It seems that this is also the strength of capitalism: having to adapt to a competitor who can become better than you. Good luck for the future of your project, as far as I'm concerned, it will stop here (well in 1 year for some devices since I paid the license like a fool for the year, I might as well use it to the maximum of what it allows me...).1 point

In 4.8 they get stripped at runtime, so it's not necessary to manually edit it anymore.1 point

Hi all, I've had a project forked from the infamous https://github.com/RickDB/PlexAniSync for my own personal use to sync emby watch status on https://anilist.co/home. for a while now. I have since re-imagined it, and now think it's good enough for a post on the forum. Two Basic Features Simple Flask Server to receive Emby Webhook POST to sync a specific Series' Season's watch status. Scheduler to Sync all watch statuses of a configured library from Emby to AniList. I would say this is still very much a WIP, but I have had great success for the past year syncing my Emby watch status to AniList. I have a fairly detailed README if you want to give it a go. I am willing to help with setup, and hope to be receptive to feedback in order to grow and improve this project. In the future I may consider making a plugin to do this sync instead. Thanks for reading. https://github.com/Beannsss/EmbyAniSync1 point

Hi. It isn't sometimes and not other times. What you are purchasing is a license for a server and you can use that server always. Again, you can on the server that you licensed. We license servers, not individual users. The other guys work the other way around because what they really want is to capture and sell to your users. We don't work that way. Your users are your users. Thanks for the support.1 point

We're planning on having it in the store for TV devices in the near future. Thanks.1 point

Thats what mp3Tag adds, so it'll probably be quite commonly used.1 point

Thanks Buddy for the update. I know that Luke mentioned a while ago at the beginning of the 4.8 beta that something had broken in Episode Intros, so I’m hoping this will be fixed for the release. I don’t actually know if its fixed at the minute in the latest betas.1 point

We are not on different pages at all. Using a partial match would disable match track titles, so this is why I’m gonna put it as a different type of intro(more work for me). lets have a play with it and you can do some testing for me.1 point
-
I’m gonna say no… it will be field you can enter in a partial match criteria. So the video file it tries to match would contain a key word… in your case it would be “Mono” and doesn’t care about whats before or after that in the intro name you want to play.1 point
-
@Scrouples23 Ah i see because the tag will only ever match one file name, so if you had ATMOS, ATMOS-1,etc it will only ever match the atmos tag and always choose that file. I think this shoukd be a quick fix and also to incorporate @crusher11requests also. hopefully have this done by the weekend for you guys1 point

Live TV setup info is stored in an XML file in your config folder named livetv.xml This and other config files are backed up by the Configuration Backup plugin.1 point
