  2. Had a bit of time this morning to play... and done Quite a bit more work. I'm almost happy with the home page.. (i'm not a music guy really, more of a DJ, so my dance tracks are well documented, but my other albums are a shower of Sh*T) need to work more on the Music scroller, but this is kind of the look i'm going for. Landing Page for tablet/desktop Suggested Music is a list view that scrolls and returns the latest 30 albums or tracks

  3. Bumping both FRs for Alternate episode orders from providers as there's been unusually high-activity in topics related, during last two days.

  4. I'd really like to have 2 Factor Authentication added to the login screen. It's just this (optional) extra layer of security to help secure the server (which, especially if people use camera uploads) contains pretty private data. There are for every type of programming language quite a few libraries available, so implementation on a server shouldn't be too hard to realise

  5. There are a number of shows that I frequently "Shuffle" with... since I've seen all the episodes, don't intend to acquire more (or if I do I don't care about highlighting them beyond the latest added section), and episodes stand alone well enough to not want/need to watch it in order. Just want to watch a random episode during dinner or something. When I start doing this too much, the Next Up gets very cluttered. If shuffle randomly gives me S04 E05 for a show, I'm not terribly concerned about making sure I watch S04 E06 next. I've tried setting the entire series to Played, as I was hoping if all the "next episodes" were already Played it'd keep it off of Next Up, but no such luck. Would it be possible to disable Next Up for individual shows upfront so they stop showing altogether? By User possibly? Or maybe if I Shuffle specifically, it won't show but playing an episode normally does? Sorry if this is a duplicate, I searched a bit but the closest I could find was "forgetting" a series... which didn't really apply since I never want these shows to come back no matter how much I watch of it.

  6. HI, yes we should move this to a per library option.

  7. yep just found that out, Theater direct-plays with ac3 but Firefox would need aac. I don't mind using Emby Theater, just wish it supported custom fonts & audio compression - but that's for another thread lmao going to mark this one solved, thanks!

  10. I got another intention: https://github.com/rockchip-linux/mpp And I also found an ffmpeg based on this: https://github.com/jjm2473/ffmpeg-rk This one seems very promising, it would be awesome if you could also check this.

  12. Yes it does. The actual question is, why it's not in your setup. Without proper information, I cannot help. Do you use Emby server beta version >19? I'm not active testing >19 versions, only if problems are reported. Just for information: Using server 4.8.0.29: 8.1.1 did not saved the playback progress (most time) for me. 8.1.2 works as intended. Clients running Kodi 20.1 on Linux (Coreelec) + Windows.

  13. Sadly, there is no consistency in the naming of the different subtitle streams, so it would be very hard to program Emby to distinguish them reliably. Indeed, it's not that uncommon for the subtitle streams to be untitled, so you have to experiment to work out which is which (JMkvPropEdit is good there as well, to enable renaming). Also, the Full Subtitle streams are sometimes marked as Japanese because they are used with the Japanese soundtrack (which understandably throws Emby's smart subtitle selection) - again, this is readily changed using JMkvPropEdit. 14. Thanks, that's how it has been... I've done what you say about creating a directory and a file and it works... at least now that I've deleted one this morning... it hasn't given a problem. Thank you

  15. It's the first one listed on my server so from my similar experience it causes the problem of the actors being out of order based on relevance. I don't know if the box is checked by default but mine wasn't then a few months ago I don't remember why but I checked it when I made a new library and then I noticed that the actors were completely out of whack....with the main actors actually being last or near last. I couldn't understand why, then I remembered I checked the box for TVDb so I unchecked it and Voila! everything went back to the correct order again. So in my opinion a database for TV shows shouldn't even be an option for movies, especially when it's data is questionable for TV shows.

  16. Well yes and no Luke. Yes that I figured out how to personally use my server, but as I am trying to write a book on this stuff and instruct people as to why they should choose Emby as compared to Plex or even Kodi, no. My main reason for this advice in my book would be that Emby does not require that you buy the Premeire, nor register your server on the Emby system. But this does not appear to be the case, based on my actual use of the product. If I plug in my Emby Premiere number on the server, and use Emby Theater, it works great. If I attempt to use a browser and the IP of the server the regular login does not work. I have to use the manual login with the name of the server. This was not true when I first installed the server, so go figure. Then the output stops and starts, on the same file, on the same computer, on the same server, only when I use the IP address. On Emby Theater it is solid as a rock. I have searched around and have not seen this issue even asked, so who knows. But I have tried this on two computers, one x86 and one Arm. And I have tried it on an ethernet connection and a wireless connection, thinking that maybe the Theater has a better buffering system than the browser serving the file. Emby is still a much better system than the other options out there, by a country mile. And I would encourage everyone to pay for the lifetime. As I said, I believe I have purchased it twice, but I did not intend to register my server on the network. I don't really care. But for the book, the free and anonymous option does not seem to be a reality.

  19. I just wanded to create the server log... Now it went through smoothly.. Maybe because the server is now much faster and the download was finished after 16sec. 2023-04-15 22:10:44.608 Info HttpClient: GET http://xxxxxxxxxxxx/x_path1_x?username=x_secret1_x&password=x_secret2_x&type=m3u_plus&output=mpegts 2023-04-15 22:11:00.993 Info Server: http/1.1 Response 200 to host1. 20. @Lukei have very good News for you. I got the STTE.221215.004.A1 android patch WHO arrived 5 minutes ago in my country Now even 1080 h264 vids ať full bitrates around 35 mb/s are working well again. @wordlover VID20230414230841.mp4 So i correct the Real Truth It Is not a emby issue It Is not an hardware issue ; it Is not a global Android 12 issue; IT Is a Google firmware issue specially related to android 12 performance in Google Chromecast 4k. to sum up things: h264 And h265 ok ať high bitrates Now. Google engineers just sucked Which Is very funny. They have invented Android lol

  21. Absolute Order (in addition to Aired and DVD Order) had been supported for a long time. Support for Alternate Order, Streaming Order, Netflix Order, Director's cut order... - or whatever additional orders there are is yet to be implemented, so let's try to keep duscussion in one place.

  26. Any additional timeline on this? It looks like it will be amazing. Will this support TVEverywhere (TVE) as well? That would allow me to drop the use of ChannelsDVR finally.

  29. Yesterday got my wife's iPad an automatic update of the app from the app store from 2.2.5 to 2.2.6. Unfortunately doesn't the app start anymore. It freezes at start screen with the emby logo while the further version runs without any issue. I attached the server log. embyserver.txt

  30. Recent switcher from Plex due to privacy concerns. I have a shiny new Emby lifetime now. Plex + Prologue + carplay has been a very positive experience for me. Emby's native client on Carplay is lacking some features when I compare them. Three biggest would be a section dedicated for audiobook usability, short rewind/fast forward buttons and a speed control. I can use those functions on the emby client on IOS, but should be using just carplay while on the road. The emby web interface and emby theater have all the right information available, just not in the client on car play. I've included screenshots from Emby and Prologue.

  31. Hi, yes those are things we can look at. Thanks.

  32. Just checked it out. The 10 second forward/reverse is awesome and very helpful! Any chance for speed selection, or a recently played/continue reading audiobook section? Both are in the IOS app, but don't display on the car screen. Typically I'll set the speed and keep it constant for the whole book, so that's not huge if it's not there. I am truly grateful for even acknowledging this post, let alone taking action. Thank you!!!

  33. HI, Emby for iOS 2.2.6 has been released. Please try it out and let us know how it compares. Thanks !

  34. PS - I think this should be expanded out to include movies. Specifically, movies that are straight to streaming platforms. When a new movie downloads immediately upon release, it will have wildly inaccurate star ratings, and other data might be missing, such as unannounced cameos. It would nice to get movies to also refresh after a week or so. Ideally, we could set a different refresh rate for movies vs episodes.

  37. Yeah, basically you want a way to mark a series as "non-sequential" because next up doesn't really make sense with some series.
    1 point
  38. This is best described as an example: I've just watched S01E01 and S01E02 is missing. In this case, I'd prefer if S01E03 isn't leading the "Next Up" suggestions. I wouldn't want to watch that by mistake not knowing the episode was missing. Thanks!
