Hello everyone. My plugins are on hold until release version of 4.8 comes to life… so in tandem with Iridium full Client UI, I’ve started work on this standalone music app also. it makes sense as this will end up as the music element of the main Iridium app. All the infrastructure and base architecture is now completed. Its time to get the content, display it and add the extra features and smart functionality for it.. so keep your eyes peels for sporadic updates here. My intentions are to also include audio books and ebooks into this app, as these are the most likely “on the go” features a traveler would like in an app. look forward to your input, constructive criticisms, UI enhancements and feature requests. cheers5 points

I have thousands of movies in my collection and use a (possibly) unique way of dividing up my movie library. It makes sense to me and keeps my individual libraries from getting too unwieldy. All current and previous year's movies get dumped in "New Releases". Older movies get divided up by the year they were released. "Digital Age" corresponds to the rise of streaming services like Netflix, so 2008 and later. (this may get updated someday) "Video Age" corresponds to the rise and fall of VCRs and Video rentals "Hollywood Renaissance" is the period following the fall of the Hays code "Golden Age" covers the period when the Hays code was in force. "Silver Age" covers the silent film era and the period before the Hays code was put in place "Early Cinema" is all of the weird and wonderful experimental movies before movies really got popular Animation and Documentaries are separated for good measure. I have several other such libraries but didn't create the images. I made my own "PlayLists" image from scratch, but the "Collections" image is a careful crop of a much larger image. The television groups represent how I divvy up my television series. - - - My creations were composited from (AFAIK) Creative Commons or Public Domain clipart or were drawn by me. Images in the ZIP file should all be 1920 x 1080 in medium-quality JPG format. library-image-share.zip2 points

As the title says, @softworkz teased all of us in another thread for me to post this. The number one improvement I check on this forum hoping there are updates to, sadly not so much.1 point

Hi all, For the Mullvad people I see their Windows beta allows for split tunneling. Instead of port forward nightmares you can let your Emby Server ride outside of the VPN. In Mullvad scroll all the way down in Advanced you'll see it. In the beta Mullvad you'll have to add Emby Server to excluded yourself since EmbyServer.exe is installed in AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system Working great for me even though I rarely watch outside the house but might do it more often now for the music part. I'm just so excited I can't hide it. Have a good one.1 point

I fixed it Manually while I was grabbing Screen Shots. I used imdb tt2557478 under identify. I am leaving Jesus revolution and a good place for testing when someone figures out where it stopped working.1 point

@dwalme Currently this information is not used to automatically determine the mime type to send back, but this is being added in Emby Server 4.8. You can try it on the server beta channel if you'd like. Thanks.1 point

Just thought I'd share this - as I frequently write little scripts to process the output from ffmpeg/ffprobe in Windows batch files. Yes I should be using PowerShell, but for the simple stuff, batch usually suffices. The trick is to get ffmpeg/ffprobe to output MULTIPLE fields to a CSV format and then capture the std output for the batch file to use as variables. I've split the file into Video, Audio and Subs - so you can see what's going on (I've just used common ffmpeg track variables, but there are 100's to use if you wish) - but you could do it all one command line if you wanted to. Anyway - this is not a 'working' script - it's just an example of what you can do to capture the output from multiple fields in ffmpeg/ffprobe - and then go onto using them in your own script. Hopefully useful to somebody .. get_ffprobe_output_into_batch.bat.txt1 point

Couldnt find guidance for configuring auto SSL renewal without a webservice/reverse proxy, so this experience may help,. its not step by step but does show whats possible, to prevent early throw in of towel. The certifytheweb client seems very robust and flexible and supports export in Embys PKCS#12 format with a few authorities and a multitude of dynamics dns providors (for validating certificate requests on domains). I used Dynu DDNS and ZeroSSL. and this guide for getting started The linked guide and other posts left me thinking that free certificates with 90 day expiry are a ball ache to manage without a webservice; the certifytheweb client (CTW) makes certificate autorenewal and export in an Emby compatible format much more appetising even without a webservice.. General Considerations Dynu and ZeroSSL provide api keys in their respective UI which need to be added to CTW. add your dynamics dns domain here Specify Password for pfx here and here add you ddns credentials for domain validation here no deployment necessary export tasks can export in Emby's preferred PKCS#12 format and use the password from above note the above is more about getting it to work than any "recommendation on best certificate / security practice" - i cant speak to that.1 point

@gtali7878you already found the correct topic to post this question, no need for a separate one. Thanks.1 point

To be clear, are you asking about having Emby Server automatically start when your ASUSTOR NAS reboots? It should do this automatically unless you shut it down before rebooting from App Central. To test this, reboot your NAS, wait 5 or so minutes until after it has rebooted, and launch App Central. It should show a power-on icon similar to this: If it does not show as "on," you might consider reinstalling it.1 point

This is the best approach I have seen suggested for this. I really hope the devs consider this approach.1 point

Thank you for mentioning this method. I was using the IPTV plugin but it did not work with Carplay. Using this method I was able to setup a playlist and now can use Carplay to switch between channels using my steering wheel. Thank you!!1 point

My feeling is that none of the devs really use extras in Movies or TV, so they don't experience the pain of the 90% completed feature set.1 point

I've recently migrated to Emby and couldn't be happier. If Emby could introduce "Editions" correctly it will be a real breakthrough feature and unique selling point. In my view, the data model would be: A movie can have one or more Editions An Edition can have one or more qualities One edition of the movie is set to the default Movie Edition Quality ----- ------- ------- True Romance -- Remastered -- 4k | \- 1080p | \- Theatrical* -- 1080p | \- 720p | \- Director's Cut -- 720p * = default I subscribe to the "multiple editions of a movie not show up as separate items in the library, but rather a singular item from when the edition can be selected", so the ideal functionality would be: Admin picks the default edition When going into a movie, the default edition is selected You can select a different edition you want, and the normal logic kicks in for selecting the quality for that edition In "resume playing" it remembers not just the film, but the edition which was previously being played (when clicking resume it will do it's normal quality algorithm for that edition) - so the movie only appears once in the resume row and automatically resumes the same edition From previous posts I appreciate there would be complexities changing the data structure, but I'd really favour getting this correct now - even with some short term pain - to make the right product going forward. Aside from my comments, can I just add how brilliant this thread is and how good all the ideas floated are.1 point

I know that it is not real common but that phrase, I believe as the OP meant, is quite common in the form "You are beating a dead horse" and it simply means that you are discussing/commenting on a topic hat has already been discussed to death. It simply means that the person saying it believes that no further discussion is needed or wanted. There is nothing, in my belief, even slightly offensive in it. I think you should withdraw your comment as your comment itself could be interpreted as an insult to the OP that he/she does not deserve. Once again flogging = beating. The dead horse does not care and neither does most people BUT beating said horse can be fun because of the large swarms of nice black flies that said beating can produce.1 point
