  1. Hi. This is checking the license and also possibly for available updates. The check would only happen repeatedly if it is failing all the time. Once it succeeds, it shouldn't have to check for 24 more hours. No "spying" is taking place. We have no idea what you are playing or what your content is (unlike some other products). Unfortunately, this is too easy to defeat.

  2. Since u don't share it out of local network it is fine to do it. Windows 10/11 enforced lot of security stuff on file and print sharing, that's why now its more "complicated" .

  3. Actually I came across this requirement as well, and a SeriesProviderIds object has been added to SubtitleSearchReques in the upcoming 4.8 server release.

  4. Not sure what you're asking for but you do not need to touch your Emby Server. Just follow the link that @ebrprovided above and side-load the latest BETA apk of 'Emby Android TV' on to your MiBox device, and try again. Guide: How to side-load apps

  5. Hii In Plex we can now put multiple editions of movie and they are treated as separate movies, for that we need to put {edition-xxxxx} at the end of the video. When can we expect the same feature in the emby? A link to the Plex page regarding the same is given below https://support.plex.tv/articles/multiple-editions/

  6. OK, well, I'll keep an eye on it and update here if I see it again. I do think it would be handy for mouseover/click to explain what a plugin does, rather than 'this plugin has no settings to configure' but I can live with it. Thanks!

  7. Thanks!!!! I set user and admin permissions to read and write in my ASUSTOR and now I can see all the music.

  8. If tracks are not tagged you are required to have /Artist/Album/Track structure to interpret it. But if folder or Song is empty then we will probably need to see the server log showing a scan of that library.

  9. Vergleichen Sie, was das Emby Dashboard zeigt und eine Seite wie canyouseeme.org oder whatismyip.com Compare what Emby Dashboard shows and a site like canyouseeme.org or whatismyip.com Tracert liefert Informationen darüber, ob Sie sich auf einer CGNAT oder möglicherweise einer doppelten Nat befinden. As for tracert it will provide info on whether your are on a CGNAT or possibly double nat.

  10. Albums and artists come from embedded metadata within your audio files, so if you don't have this, then you won't get them. The songs tab of your music library should still be populated though, once the initial scan has completed.

  11. Secure and anonymous are two different things. If you want them to be secure, that is achievable only through SSL connection. If you want them to be anonymous, there are several ways to achieve that, VPN being the most common.

  12. For now you just have to remember to re-enable it after a server restart (this catches me out sometimes, especially after a Windows update!). The functionality is solid enough that it'll surely be in the final 4.8 release - though I would like for it to be made persistent in the beta before then, presumably with an option to turn it off again for test purposes... (not everything in the diagnostics plugin is non-persistent, after all). Paul

  13. Is actually neither, you have them wrong, as those are default ports for http (8096) and https (8920), you wouldn't want port forwarding set like that.
    1 point
  14. You need a rule for both internal and external same port, you don't mix them. And all you need it TCP. external 8096 internal 8096

  15. Thank you for your reply. The download link at: https://emby.media/emby-theater-linux.html points to: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/emby-theater-electron/releases/ and when clicking on the link you download from "objects.githubusercontent.com" As opposed to Emby Theater for Windows: https://emby.media/emby-theater.html , the download-link points to "embydata.com" So far so good, I am just confused why this is hosted somewhere else, and I need to know if this is an official part of Emby Thank you!

  16. Perfect @GrimReaperYou helped me a second time. It's indeed the order of the scrapers. It's working now with TheMovieDb at the topp order!
    1 point
  17. What are your library preferred scrapers enabled and in what order?
    1 point
  18. @GrimReaperOh yes, I have sorted by filename. Thank you!
    1 point
  19. Which library type and which sort mode? Alpha-picker is not available in all sort modes, typically only in alphabetical-type mode (like Title).

  20. The next beta should correct this. It actually isn't related to the auto-play feature. That just exposes the issue.
    1 point
  21. Yes, I did some tests too, the same with you.
    1 point
  22. No that is not I am wanting,. we currently can change sorting of the albums in a variety of ways including year, title, artist, etc. But when we do this it changes this for all the artists, which is fine, So all the artists are sorted by year and for example I would want to change soundtracks. I switch soundtracks to title and lock that in so it will not change back to year and the rest of the artists stay with sorting by year.

  23. OK Yes this is about recovering from network switches during playback, and this is something we're working on improving. Thanks.

  24. But yes an option to exclude Unaired would improve the existing query as it has been brought up before. And/Or adding these options to Episodes Table view in the library.

  26. @LukeThe issue was resolved after updating to version 1.5.1 of the plugin. Thanks!

  27. @Luke No problem at all Thinking back its worth noting that its more likely the update and upgrade that resolved the issue.

  28. Hi, please try the 1.5.1 update of the plugin and let me know if it resolves the issue. Thanks.

  29. @Luke Sorry for the delay got very busy. @alucrydthat worked. Yes exactly as @TenderBabyMeathad said. And yes big thanks to alucryd as that worked almost perfectly. Originally I hadn't realised my pi's firmware wasn't up to date as the scripts run automatically but they couldnt access the wider network. But as well with my limited knowledge and understanding I updated the pi firmware on a separate sd card default pi lite 32bit (not emby sd card) . And then tried the emby image to no success. Checked the firmware under that sd card and it showed the current as the lastest 2023 build, but under its desired latest it showed the 2022 build. Did the whole sudo update and upgrade then ran the firmware upgrade again and it has now booted perfectly. Thanks alot @alucryd For anyone else experiencing this: On the emby image (orange screen black box) Press crtl + alt + f1 to get to the terminal Sudo apt update and then the upgrade commands then run sudo rpi-eeprom-update -d -a and reboot.

  31. Thanks! That seems to have worked.. The TVDB number in the name and rescanning has consolidated it down like the other shows. Don't know why that was necessary but it worked. Thanks again!

  32. Actually looks like the last time it worked was 1.0.47. @Luke

  34. After a couple of days with the checks, it already works and the chapters are marked as "played". I have deleted all *.nfo files from the entire library and updated the metadata again. The nfo files have been re-created and it works perfectly. I don't understand the cause of the problem but this has been the solution. Thankyou

  35. My like bumped this one up to a measly 10 likes after 4.5 years. Honestly I expected this feature out of the box, to me it seems more like a defect fix than an enhancement request. Would it be within the capability of a plug-in to either prevent duplicates, or upon an event or schedule to search/delete duplicates? if so I might try my hand at plug-in development.

  36. Animated gif posters will be supported in Emby Server 4.8 - on detail screens only. What that means is, when you're browsing lists, searching, etc, you won't see the animation, but you will see it on detail screens. Also please note that on some form factors such as mobile layouts in portrait orientation, we don't even show the poster anymore. But where it is used and the platform supports it, the animation will be supported.

  38. Big difference on the basic ability to sort. with JF - simply view by 'Most Wanted' and it puts all the most wanted items to the top of the list .. How is this achieved in the Emby Forum ? There is no way to list anything by the number of 'likes' ? Number of Views means nothing. Maybe if @Abobader added the ability to sort by 'likes' - then it would start to resemble a list ... All we get in Emby is this -

  39. Correct just the delete library.db unless you are wanting to completely start over.
    1 point
  40. Agreed. I noticed some library ite.s were missing but a deletion of the library.db files fixed it. I guess a full delete of the entire data folder is in order though.
    1 point
  41. Just a heads up that if you're rolling back from the beta then I would suggest a fresh install. Make sure to manually delete the server's data folder so that you can start fresh. Rolling back from 4.8 to 4.7 on the same installation is pretty much guaranteed to be problematic, both now, and then later when it eventually gets upgraded back to 4.8.

  42. I would assume you would have database issues as there are major changes. Plugins should fail also as you would have to downgrade them normally to compatibility issues but will vary per plugin. As core plugin come in each version.

  43. This thread is ridiculous. Was searching for the Emby Alexa skill and couldn't find it, so I came here for answers. But the only answer @Luke is giving is: "We are working on it". For more than 2 years now. So was it a lie? Because I can't see why the translation of an already existing Alexa skill can be that hard of a task, that it takes more than 2 years to achieve. Instead, we get these non-answers. And as others pointed out, this is an advertised Premiere feature. Which makes this thread even more embarrassing. Also bitte mal Klartext. Da wär ich sehr verbunden.

  45. A common reason Emby's Real Time Monitoring (RTM) stops working on Synology NAS is because the Unix set user limit on inotify instances and/or watches has been reached as a result of a large number of changes for instances to process and/or the total amount of folders, files, etc that need to be monitored by watches. When RTM stops working you may start to see errors in your server logs like the following where the default number of user watches (8192) has been reached. A similar error will show up when the default inotify instances (128) is reached. System.IO.IOException: System.IO.IOException: The configured user limit (8192) on the number of inotify watches has been reached, or the operating system failed to allocate a required resource. To increase the number of inotify instances and/or watches create the following task in DSM control panel Task Scheduler logged on with admin privileges. 1. Create a Triggered Task...User-defined script to run at Boot-up 2. Paste the following commands under the Task Settings tab sysctl fs.inotify.max_user_watches=1048576; sysctl fs.inotify.max_user_instances=4096; 3. Click Run to execute the new task (if not logged on as admin then a restart may be necessary) The task will then rerun during every boot to prevent the changes from being reverted back to default from a DSM update. To check that your changes took affect you can optionally run the following commands in Terminal cat /proc/sys/fs/inotify/max_user_instances cat /proc/sys/fs/inotify/max_user_watches If your library gets really big and the limit of user watches is again reached, then just increase the number again. The maximum number of watches allowed in Unix is 524,288 and each used watch takes about 1kb of memory on a 32-bit system (double on 64-bit). However, it will only use what is needed based on the number of items being watched.
