  1. Yep... I use Plex on the TV now and but still use the emby app for my phone. Probably make the switch on all devices soon. I think I've reinstalled it every month on 3 TVs like 30 times now, plus trying to walk my grandfather who is interstate on it. Not worth it anymore. Thanks devs, it's been great, but having to reinstall and reconfigure every fucking time is just too much now.

  2. Guess I'm making it official FR: Could we please get parent TV show poster - or at least parent TV show thumb as it is done in Continue Watching Home Screen row - for TV episode playback session in Now Playing Dashboard section, as current implementation with episode thumb is neither informative nor visually appealing. Thanks

  3. I reckon they're reluctant to do so as noone would need another device for, at least, the next decade then.

  5. DTS Core (lossy) from the DTS-HD MA IS passed though - so you'll get DTS 5.1. But you won't get DTS-HD MA or DTS-HD X. I tested DTS-HD HRA (also lossy, but higher bitrate than DTS) - that didn't work either for me - but some are saying it does. But there is a lot of scope for mis information here - just because you hear sound, doesn't mean it's what you sent. You need an AVR that is capable of telling you what it is processing, how many channels blah blah - a sound bar is less likely to tell you this - and I think this is where confusion has come from.

  6. Guys, The ebook side of Emby/MediaBrowser has been long stalled or rather stagnated. I would like to offer up a couple of suggestions. Many people use calibre as an ebook/comic book tool for scraping data and general management of their collection already. This program is absolutely astonishing in its ability to pull metadata from post calibre scans, as well as draw in metadata from the file source and/or directory structure. http://vaemendis.net/ubooquity/ Its a self contained .jar server/reader combination. And honestly I am very impressed by it's small footprint and wide range of abilities. The other option is COPS , which was written specifically with calibre in mind. It is open source, so making it work with emby I would think would be fairly easy. https://blog.slucas.fr/projects/calibre-opds-php-server/ Ever since the original release of MediaBrowser's bookshelf I have always wanted something that would allow me to 'read' my collection, rather than being basically nothing more than a place-set for images of books I own. I am sure that those who mainly have audiobooks are thrilled with bookshelf , but it's nothing more than an extension of the music library IMHO, not new features. We can have both right? Here I give you two suggestions free of charge.. Just because I love you, and Emby Personally I plan on running the Ubooquity Server along side of Emby from now on, just because of it's massive functionality and tiny footprint. But I sure hope that someone decides -- "yeah, ebook support should be in here too" and do something about it - rather than allow this now very very ancient issue to continue to remain an issue. And so I don't have to have 20 different ports open, some with SSL support - some not, because Emby isn't delivering the 'complete package'. (Please take some of this with humor, I know you have your hands full with improvements/bugs/suggestions/requests)

  7. Download server for appropriate platform: https://emby.media/download.html Afterwards populate with your own media (or add LiveTV tuner).

  8. It is. That's a great setup - and an overkill too. You'll easily get those 5 and likely 10 (or very close to). IMHO not worth it, you're getting same iGPU and either of those CPU is a powerhorse by itself. Way to go. Depending on your motherboard, maybe if it has Thunderbolt or USB-C DP (DisplayPort). You should. Rightly so. Edit: @austinchief your specified motherboard (also an overkill - man, you do not spare any funds, eh ) already has 1 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort ports - so dual displays are a go. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-Z690-A-WIFI-DDR4/Specification

  9. Thank you for the quick replies. It was this check that fixed it. "Import collection information from metadata downloaders" set to enable. Mike

  10. Great, that's a good sign that the issue is resolved in the next release of the server.

  13. Testing now with 4.7.11.10 and emby beta (4.8.0.21) and so far it's played without quitting for 45 minutes which hasn't happened since 4.6. It may be solved! EDIT: And regarding the topic of the thread, stop and resume works consistently without refreshing the page.

  14. Emby Theater works great on Debian stable. Needed a few tweaks, like set default audio out the HDMI port instead of audio card, stuff like that. Sadly, RF remotes are a hassle, I have 2 here, and both have issues in one way or another. I ordered a new one, recommended by the kodi people to work, so we'll see.

  15. The email is not being filtered in any way on our end. Our internal logs indicate at least six emails successfully delivered to your family .US email server since February 27, with your mail server response being "250 OK" which is the standard when everything is normal.

  16. Will the plugin be updated to allow the new versions of mediainfo w/o the override? I know there were a couple versions that had issues but I haven't seen any problems with the changed metadata using 22.12 version.

  17. Ditto, when I'm in front of a PC and online - which won't happen for another 3-4 months, sentenced to mobile phone only for forseeable future. Though those look like generic recommendations in these particular cases, items have SUBRIPs only which shouldn't (doesn't mean they don't) create issues.

  18. I can speak to this. The answer is not so easy. The reason it didn't Direct Play isn't so simple to know. For example on the Roku it doesn't tell you anything. It just sends it back (immediately stops) with a generic error code. It might have had an error in the stream, a hiccup, and that causes it. Also, if we could know why it wasn't working with a direct play error we could tailor the profile for that device so that those would not occur. So knowing what to tell users isn't exactly possible in most scenarios. DirectPlayError means: We tried our best to direct play the item, based on what we know about that device, but for some reason it refused to play that item.

  19. Provide one of the ffmpeg logs and something might - and likely will - be visible in respect to profiles (i.e. reported client capabilities vs. media encode).

  21. New hosted version today, 4.7.11.10 still working great on Safari @Luke, is it possible to have this version bundled in a new stable server release ?

  23. after playing around a little more, I got it working. Deleted plug in (again), restarted NAS, saw the library still existed, deleted library, restart NAS. reinstall plugin, restart Emby. Works great!

  24. In the system.xml i commented out the the local network subnets config. After Restart of Emby, the whole section was removed from the system.xml and the error is gone. Thanks for your support!

  25. Thank you for the explanation. Given the quality of Emby, my concern really amounts to nothing. I'm not a media server power-user, but to me Emby far outpaces Plex, Jellyfin and Mezzmo. Emby is my new media server. Like getting a new car, only better. Jim

  27. BINGO! Enabled onboard audio in the bios, and added audio-device=wasapi/{53e410fa-44d1-48bd-8c4b-6961def6ab32} and everything worked in MPV including bitstreaming DTS-MA and TrueHD. So I dropped the MPV directory in appdata/roaming, re-configured audio passthrough and set video output to auto and all worked as it should in my limited testing. As for the auto-profile, where and how would I create one? I have a pretty simple ffmpeg setup so i would not think that it would be too involved. Huge thank you for all of your help.

  32. IMHO that's suboptimal solution, being forced to have it expanded at all times. If so, better leave it as it is, so user at least has some choice. I, for one, wouldn't be willing to give up on that screen estate. Might work, though as you, said doesn't spare on clicks but at least it's explicit. It appears there's no happy-for-all solution.

  33. HI Guys, Can you check out the comment at the top of the page on https://xmltv.net ? We've had some issues with the data which caused the files not to be updated in the last few days and are now trying a new data source. You'll have to remap your channels and NOTE that THE FIRST day of EPG data will be EMPTY - this only happens the first time you map the channels though. If you're having issues specifically with the files on xmltv.net, it is best you post on xmltv.net or on the GitHub discussion forum.

  35. This is your best option. Unless you change the store region and use the store version of the app (which is not updated as often), you don' have any other options. Be aware that changing your region will affect all installed apps, so it's not an ideal solution

  36. Way behind the times I'm afraid... Intel Gen 13 are not only faster now, but with the iGPU (Quick Sync Video), there is no need for any GPU either. An Intel 13100 or 13500, 16Gb Memory (+) and a NVME drive will be all you need for a long time ... ps - do NOT get the 'F' variants - they do not have the iGPU.

  39. So I suspect something has no value / members....eg. No series, No episodes, no guest stars, no actors, no name no role and i probably need to add some protection for that possibility. Can you tell, from the debug logging, if the plugin is generally iterating through series and episodes and failing at a specific point...or not even getting started... might give a clue where to start or what logging to add to track it down.

  41. Hi, Yesterday I finally got the tip that has allowed the emby LXC to work perfectly. Indeed, I have solved the problem by modifying the permissions of the /dev/dri/ folder on the host machine. chmod 666 /dev/dri/* This change is removed when the host machine is rebooted, so I will have to add it to cron so that it is modified at each start. Thanks for all the help, now I have to talk to the developer of the emby script to put it in the documentation.
