Do you expect your responses to allow paid placement in the future? ChatGPT: As an AI model developed and maintained by OpenAI, I am not involved in any commercial transactions or financial arrangements. OpenAI's policies and business practices may change in the future, but I do not have information about any plans for paid placements in my responses. My main objective is to provide helpful and accurate information to users. If they were to allow paid placement in your responses do you believe these would follow SEO practices currently in place? ChatGPT: As an AI language model, I don't have personal opinions or beliefs, but I can tell you that the use of search engine optimization (SEO) practices would depend on the goals and policies of OpenAI and any third parties involved in the placement of paid content in my responses. SEO is a set of techniques used to optimize a website or web page to rank higher and earn more organic traffic from search engines. If paid placements were to be allowed in my responses, it is possible that some form of SEO optimization would be employed to ensure that the content being promoted is discoverable and accessible to users. However, this would ultimately depend on the specific terms and conditions set by OpenAI and any relevant regulations or guidelines. Will you eventually become the same as a search engine including links back to quoted content? Or do you just steal content with no attribution? ChatGPT: As an AI language model, I do not "steal" content. Instead, I generate responses based on the information I have been trained on, which includes a large corpus of text from the internet. When I provide information in response to a user's question, I aim to accurately and effectively summarize relevant information and provide context where necessary. I do not intend to present information as my own original content. Regarding links, I can provide links to relevant information in my responses if it is deemed appropriate and if it helps users better understand the information being discussed. However, the decision to include links and the specific form and function of those links would be determined by OpenAI and would depend on their policies and business practices. It is not my goal to be a search engine or compete with search engines, but rather to assist users by providing helpful and accurate information in response to their questions. You are aware without generating responses with attribution your responses come off as original content? ChatGPT: Yes, I am aware that my responses can appear as original content if they are not properly attributed. It is important to note that I am an AI language model developed and maintained by OpenAI, and my responses are generated based on the information I have been trained on, which includes a vast corpus of text from the internet. While I aim to provide accurate and helpful information in my responses, it is important for users to understand that my responses are not original content created by me, but rather generated based on the information I have been trained on. To avoid any confusion or misunderstandings, it is always recommended to attribute information from my responses to OpenAI or to specify that the information is generated by an AI language model. Do you plan to attribute sources of information that you quote in your responses in the future? ChatGPT: As an AI language model, I do not make plans or decisions regarding my functioning or the presentation of information in my responses. That being said, providing proper attribution for information is an important aspect of using and presenting information accurately and ethically. OpenAI may choose to implement ways of attributing sources of information in my responses in the future, but this would depend on their policies and business practices. If they do implement such measures, it would be with the goal of providing more transparent and accurate information to users and avoiding confusion or misunderstandings about the origin of the information presented in my responses. Whenever it has to defend itself it uses the 'ol As An AI language model defense. But it does mention ethically it should do something. It just hasn't been trained to yet. Then points fingers at its creators. I do like this thing.3 points

Yep, the interface (for client assignment) is implemented in next-gen Kodi plugin. However, my understanding was that the Emby watch party plugin from @chef struggled with playback sync. The video he posted shows client assignment was fine. If he uses my sync code and his client assignment, would be a nice plugin for Emby server.2 points

Hi @Luke, Thanks for picking this up. I spoke to the provider and also found a post from another user on the Emby forum. Turns out the issue was due to split tunnelling of my VPN. It appeared to the provider I was using two separate devices (as two different IPs). I changed the VPN settings, and now it works without a problem. Thanks!2 points

Domestic routers will block external access by default. Access to your internal network requires port forwarding to be set up. Unfortunately (IMO), Emby has the option to open ports automatically using uPNP (the "Port Mapper" plugin). This does enable them to provide many users with simplified remote access using Emby Connect, though. But uPNP is a serious security risk. Anyway, disable port mapping in the Network settings, or uninstall the Port Mapper plugin, and you should be good to (not!) go - I would also check whether the router has retained any port forwarding settings, though. Unless I'm being a bit blind (highly possible!), I'd love a way to hide a couple of the top green navigation items without hacking it in myself. For example, in Movies I don't want the 'Trailers' item to appear for any profile and for TV I don't need the 'Upcoming' nav link. Obviously not a major issue but thought it would be a nice thing to have, perhaps allowing them to be re-ordered like the home page items but again just a nice extra,1 point

CONFIG UI How it works Click Add New Camera Button you set up an IP camera by giving it a friendly name, the URL to make it work (there is a link in the config UI that will take you to a website to help you) select the protocol and then decide if you want it to be saved to a m3u8 file. Click Save Repeat for number of cams you wish to add Run the Refresh Internet Channels Scheduled Task Advantages for saving to m3u8 file Now..... saving to m3u8 file has a massive advantage. you can now import this into the liveTV as a tuner and set up recording schedules for each of your cameras that are in the list. You will require to install the M3U TV Tuner Plugin in liveTV setup select m3u then just select the m3u8 file that the channel creates on the channel refresh and hit save After you hit save you'll see all your cameras Boom now you can create a recording or watch from you TV guide hehhehe PS it is a Channel so can be watched live and direct thru the channel created on your home page GOOD SOURCE TO FIND YOUR CAMERA AND MODEL TO GET THE PROTOCOL Connecting to IP Cameras (ispyconnect.com) RELEASE VERSION 1.0.0.0 - Initial Release to Catalogue TV Channel Logos Dark Light1 point

I was searching to see if this was implemented and this comment encapsulated my idea fairly well. I enjoy being able to control during which hours viewing can occur each day. I would now like to take that to the next level by defining how much time can be spent. Ideally, it should track the time videos are playing (difference between when they start/stop) and not simply the length of the video(s). I wonder if this type of control has been considered.1 point

This is for Emby Theater for Tizen and iOS. It seems all these recent updates are to “clean up” the OSD etc. Well, there is tons of room now that you have removed the poster from the video details screen, so can we please get the “Ends at” time back on details? Makes absolutely no sense that that it was removed in the first place. I realize it can be seen after the video is playing by pressing down to get to video info but the whole point is to see if you have time to watch the video BEFORE you start it! Seems pretty straightforward. thx!1 point

Yes, the transformer here is just taking the extracted data and building a document that conforms to its internal idea of what "human" readable is. That is the trick here, taking some data from multiple sources, aggregating it and making it look like it was written by a human. This still feels like smoke and mirrors to me, once you get access to the version that show you the reference material its like the curtain gets pulled back a little, you get to see the references used and it becomes clear why it is stating as FACT what it is presenting to you and why it is wrong a lot of the time. This system is only as good as the data it is trained on so for very new topical items like current news stories it is useless.1 point
-
Transformer models are working totally different, but the valid point is that the information is available in form of similar regular expressions (e.g. form Kodi), while I had thought this would be a very specific Emby internal .1 point

What matters is whether the show is listed in the first metadata provider you have selected. The IMDB id can be used to look it up because the other providers have it in their database, but Emby does not use IMDB as a source of metadata (because $$$). Paul1 point

Epic fails are not unusual, too: softworkz: Which country has a flag with white background and red diagonal lines? ChatGPT: The flag of Kyrgyzstan has a white background and red diagonal lines. softworkz: No, Kyrgyzstan has a red flag with a yellow sun ChatGPT: I apologize, you are correct. The country with a flag featuring a white background and red diagonal lines is Slovenia. softworkz: Slovenia has a flag with blue red and white ChatGPT: Yes, that's correct. The flag of Slovenia features three horizontal bands of equal height, with the top and bottom bands being white, and the middle band being blue with a coat of arms centered in the blue band. softworkz: But which country has a flag with white background and red diagonal lines? ChatGPT: The country with a flag featuring a white background with red diagonal lines is the flag of the Principality of Liechtenstein. softworkz: No, that flag is blue and red ChatGPT: The country with a flag that has a white background and red diagonal lines is the flag of Saltire, or Saint Andrew's Cross, which is the national flag of Scotland. softworkz: No, that's blue and white ChatGPT: The country you are referring to is probably France, which has a flag with a white background and two red diagonal lines forming a "X". (totally wrong...)1 point

How do the Emby clients "sign up" to be included in the watch party? Something in Kodi or this plugin? Sorry for the basic question but I don't run Kodi and the threads I've seen don't spell it out for a 1st grader1 point

If you think about the current way Google handles results, it's kind of that way right now. Or maybe that's what you meant. You pay, you get first spot. I just hope that the AI isn't compromised with SEO, and instead always gives the best possible answer, not what companies have paid for it to say. To be honest there are other professions that takes money for services rendered... Let's hope the AI does become a wh##e Whoa chef! Simmer down buddy! This is a family channel.1 point

There was many times Co-Pilot just got in my way I was able to use it quite a bit before it was a paid product (during their testing). A lot of the time it was fine, but after awhile its recommendations were inhibiting production of code . I turned it off. It would also cause issues with intellisense as well. Too many cooks in the kitchen. But, I do like how chatGpt handles code responses, although I have caught it making mistakes quite a few times. Regular expressions seems to trip it up for some reason.1 point

I see a whole new line of SEO coming in order to work with these new AI engines. Someone is quickly going to figure out how to game this system.1 point

Yeah, I'll bet it is the almost completely blank media source that is tripping it up.1 point

This feature is sooo much needed. In my case not only for videos but also for audiobooks. Simply, for all types of media is a daily use-time limit very usefull. Please add it to emby - this would be awesome!1 point

LOL - I hate regex so much that my brain refuses to memorize it. Each time I need it, I need to learn it from scratch and one day later it's gone again. I haven't tried Copilot but I haven't read a lot of good things about it. I have MS IntelliCode enabled and sometimes it's nice as it avoids typing. But this and ChatGPT are two different things. The former is about guessing your next line (IntelliCode) or lines (Copilot) from what you have written so far. The problem here is that the AI doesn't know what you want to do, it can just suggest what would be the most likely continuation. It suggest that continuation and you can take it or not. With ChapGPT, you can have a conversation. It's more like asking a friend and even when it generates sample code for illustration, it's not exactly something to copy/paste. But the main difference is that you can tell what you want rather than letting the AI guess from partial code you have written.1 point

Hey Cheeze. This is going to come down to some value on your items that the stats plug-in is never expecting to not be there but isn't. Exactly what that value is, I can't be sure but perhaps things like runtime or a media type or something like that...1 point

This version of the cube is the only device I'm aware of that has any interface (such as it is) to any type of hardware player and that's why it does support THD and DTS. But, be clear, the makers of these boxes don't want you purchasing BluRays. These devices are nothing more than an avenue to sell you streaming content. The fact we are able to use them the way we do is just a happy by-product. It will never be a main focus of the device developers because there is no revenue stream tied to it for them. They are in business and most of them sold you that hardware at an extreme discount or even a loss. Nvidia being the exception and why their hardware is so much more expensive.1 point

OMG!!! I have been struggling with this same issue! For just a handful of 4K files my 2019 Shield TV Pro would inexplicitly transcode and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why! I just sideloaded the standard Android app and OMG, no more transcoding! No massive delays waiting for the video to start! You guys rock! Best support anywhere!1 point

Ok great I am going to record both the seperate shows and the entire day. I appreciate the suggestion!1 point

1 ) Disable the following under each user. 1.2)Allow remote connections to this Emby Server. If unchecked, all remote connections will be blocked. 1.3)Hide this user from login screens when connected remotely. Useful for private or hidden administrator accounts. The user will need to sign in manually by entering their username and password. 2) Disable the following under network. 2.1) Allow remote connections to this Emby Server. If unchecked, all remote connections will be blocked. 2.2) Enable automatic port mapping. Attempt to automatically map the public port to the local port via UPnP. This may not work with some router models. 3) Disable port forwarding in you Router. And turn off UPnP in your router for added securety. That should be it.1 point

Assuming you actually have no Collections in this library can delete the \root\default\Collections library to make it Mixed Content which will allow you to remove it. If you actually have Collections this library will always reappear requiring the Removal of Collection items and deleting this library again. Or hide it per user on Home Screen settings.1 point

I came back to Emby recently after having gone back to Plex for awhile. This time I'm throwing in the towel on Plex for good and came back with a lifetime subscription. Plex has gotten too bloated, buggy, crashed, had nothing but trouble. The added audiobook support is huge and I really appreciated the help and discussion in this thread. I wanted to add my support that I'd love a way to auto-organize and filter by Series. Right now I make manual collections for Series which gets the job done, but an automated solution would be huge. Appreciate all the great work and support you all do for Emby and the community. It's my all-in-one home media home now :)1 point

When I was looking for a Windows Media Center alternative 4 years ago I installed Plex.....it only took me one afternoon of tinkering before I was looking for an alternative....it's ugly and clunky as a default install....found emby that evening, installed it....and by the next day I had deleted Plex and never looked back. In the interim I have tried others as a curiosity but there is nothing that compares to emby. Even with the issues that emby has it is still the best thing I have found. I run the beta as my default testing server and the support team here is TOP NOTCH and respond so quickly to issues they never last long enough to be a hinderance. Thanks for 4 years.....I've learned a lot and use emby every day and my special needs boy loves it and I finally have my wife interested after 4 years since she discovered how much content I have...LOL.1 point

Support for WMC Remote Controls As discussed earlier above: I have good news for all of you who are still having a WMC remote around (or having a programmable remote and the WMC IR receiver) I was able to incorporate support for WMC remotes - which means that all buttons are functional, including Ch+/-, Info, Guide, Recorded TV, Movies, Music, etc. It is using the WebHID API, which is currently supported by Chrome, Edge and Opera. While the API is platform-independent, I'm not sure whether the receiver would work on non-windows with generic HID class drivers, so it's probably limited to Windows.1 point

This should be added to the install instructions. Fresh CentOS 7 install fails to start because while the user emby owns the data directory, there are no permissions allowed on the directory. I figured it out on my own, but I bet many users would get stumped here. chmod 755 /var/lib/emby systemctl restart emby-server1 point

i would also be willing to pay for this type of design myself as i do feel that the design aspect of emby is the main draw back for most people. myself included, dont get me wrong i love emby and use it daily but when trying to get others to use it they dont like the design layout and unfortunately are used to layouts like Netflix and Disney+ and sky1 point

The entire concept of these machine learning front ends is answering questions. They are destinations that don't cite the sources they're synthesizing from. The premise of search engines has traditionally been to function as a middle man that leads users to web sites that then monetize that traffic. How does it benefit a third party web site to have their content churned into an elaborate web scraper in exchange for nothing?0 points
