Luke, you clearly aren't understanding the problem. He doesn't know how (or if) his device supports http streaming. He read about NextPVR urls and is using that with is Clearstream h/w device IP. Logs won't help, he needs to do more research on the capabilities of the device. Martin

Hi Anyone ever had the idea of making an emby app for virtual reality? Only a simple app with a virtual screen (maybe cinema environment). There isnt a good solution for enjoing media in VR yet, so that might bring many new users to emby. Plex tried sth similar about a year ago, because many people requested it but the app was in a very bad shape at release and failed. Btw have someone already tried sth in that direction?

I'm using the plugin and really like it. As I was browsing custom covers from my prefered source, I came about this cover created by user faufan and as he only made a handfil covers with those banners at the bottom (Bates Motel, Yellowstone,) I thought this would be aweomse If this could be implemented as an option in CoverArt.

Hi, there is nothing you need to do for this because this is default behavior. The only thing you should probably be aware of is that Emby Server does not use file names to determine song title or song number. It gets that information from the embedded metadata within the file. It only uses the file name if there is no embedded title.

HI, for server transcoding, yes, although you'd probably want the TV to direct play it if you can.

That would indicate the proper port(s) weren't opened properly. What's a bit confusing but already asked is how you connect to PureVPN. If it's software on the server the firewall ports wouldn't need to be open. If PureVPN is connected to via your router, then the local machine firewall would come into play just as if no VPN is running at all.

@GrimReaper - Sorry, that is what I did, just forgot the Library type when I provided this as a potential solution for the OP.

Not within Emby but number of programs available for the same purpose. Not quite following there, how are you connecting to PureVPN servers - via router VPN configuration or by using dedicated client app on your server machine? Some alternatives to access behind CGNAT:

So i actually Engaged with Jellyfin. I would like some more freedom with the plugins i write and how the user can interact from the UI. So i popped over to have a chat on the dev channels. and..... Rewind about 5yrs compared to Emby's code..... they are not organised, it's difficult to follow and track things. The infrastructure isn't there. so here i still am. I'm not disloyal to emby... it's good to try to engage in other platforms. I even threw them one of my plugins to see if someone could show me how to to integrate and they kindly took it... converted it and i heard nothing back. So no change there with Robbing code and information and giving nothing. I think that 4.8 Release will pave the way going forward (Emby Admin correct me if i'm wrong). It seems like with the release of the new Dev SDK and the silence of releases that a lot of energy is going into this release... (Possibly a 5.0 release?? completely my opinion and prediction), but i think the infrastruce will be much more solid, which will then paved the way to build features that are a whole lot less likely to break the current fragile state of emby. These are all completely my own opinions and ideas. I think good things are to come from Emby.

This is how i add the list of items in the plugin and debug log shows the correct order. Then when i go to the Channel it doesn't display them properly... I dont know how to fix this. Because my code is logical and correct but the display isn't. I don't either, i don't know why because the whole item is being returned, but it may be because the way channels is set up that it looks for the item backdrop, now generally episodes dont have logo's or backdrops these are taken from the series level not the episode level. I don't know enough at the moment on how channels utilese information/and or artwork, but my above assumption should be correct.

Hi Luke. I've done nothing. Perhaps one day I may try updating to DSM 7, but for now I'm leaving it on DSM 6, despite the problem I have with subtitles.

So the problem for me was maybe 2 fold. first the pem file downloaded from no-ip was all garbled(notepad). i went back and checked my old pem file(with notepad) from trustcore and it was not garbled. so what i did next was check the pem chain from no-ip instead(pemchain was not garbled and had clear text. once downloaded you have to edit the file in notepad. remove all text after the first section after -----END CERTIFICATE----- so you have one section only example below use only blue highlighted section save this file as the regular .pem file use this file in openssl. I am currently up and running with new cert! confirm this works for you and i will send in a trouble ticket with no-ip to have these pem files hopefully fixed. -- other things i did, but not sure had anything to do with it. **** pls try the first fix first before doing all the extra work in these last 4 steps. ***** 1- fully removed openssl 2- I installed Win64 OpenSSL v1.1.1s 64MB version on https://slproweb.com/products/Win32OpenSSL.html 3- in cmd ran SET OPENSSL_MODULES=C:\Program Files\OpenSSL-Win64\bin 4- added the files here into the installed openssl directories https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tX7BJuGYfzZ8925Vr3xy2fzOrv8SdP8I/view?usp=sharing this one included legacy.dll **** pls try the first fix first before doing all the extra work in these last 4 steps. ***** let me know how it goes -Jake

what shouldn't be happening? from time immemorial.... if i ever scanned an emby library with a drive accidentally disconnected... emby deleted everything that was on that drive : ) : (

There isn't one beside manually triggering one on the library. You have to use th api or debug the log on a library scan and create your own script and run at your own interval via your platform. You will have to use the curl command you see in the api and will have to generate a API Key via app settings-API keys to replace the one in the curl command in your own script as the one generated in the api expires. There several other topics out there.

I was having troubles getting this to work. Just spent a day putting my audio books into Emby too. I found this and then all of a sudden it seems to be working now. Hopefully it continues. Works both on downloaded and streaming. Doesn't seem to support conversions though or at least I haven't gotten it working yet. Minor as long as the resume works. Seems the problem I was having was I was either going to the downloaded test audio book or to the list of books and then the book. It always started at the beginning. I couldn't seem to find the continue listening menu at first. I swear it wasn't there but it is now. It isn't on my Roku despite the settings in the web interface. But I can't see using it often if at all. Almost always will be using my phone.

Download transferred reliably. No indicator that it was in progress or finished but I did transfer lightning fast. I am now able to return to the main download menu without the app hanging/spinning as well!

NOW AVAILABLE THRU THE PLUGIN CATALOGUE. I've fixed the issue with the display limit not working. I will need to figure out the strange list of all episodes with the same Season and Episode indexes. I may need to force the split versions option in the code when running the the channels refresh task. Enjoy and thanks to everyone that's helped this get to release.

Not that I know of. On my TV I just download the zip and unzip it to a freshly formatted USB stick then insert into the TV. It's important to make sure there is nothing else on the stick as the TV writes a file to it if it has been used before and that will prevent an install. On my second TV I have to uninstall the App before trying to install a new one. The common mistake is to delete the icon from the "home" screen and not uninstall the app. You need to go into APPS and delete from there, it's unfortunate that Samsung use "delete" not "uninstall" as that would make it much clearer.

Vic's tool is really good for said purpose (between numerous other uses).

Turns out it was a Driver issue. ended up stripping out the old and reinstalling the latest Radeon drivers and no issues transconding anything anmore. thank you for all the help

@Luke, all good ! I don't have any slow down nor 'Recovery from playback error' message anymore on remote or local. Emby Server still generate multiple transcode-ffmpeg logs, more than before, seems that everytime it restart from throttle, a new log file is generated but no issue whatsoever to report. Notice that I also changed my geo-filtering config in my proxy to allow unknown IP (that has no country listed for) because with this new version, playback stopped immediately after start on my phone and not my wife's. I suspected that setting to be the culprit and I was right. So whoever has geo-filtering enabled, unknown country should be allowed. By any chance, did you have time to read that post (which is already on page 3 :D) ? I still have unresponsive OSD depending on the file being read. Thank you for your hard work !

I suspect this nonchalant attitude about "perceived" vulnerabilities with Emby might be what's driving development decisions with Emby. If developers don't think it's a big deal for someone to brute force their way into Emby then I suspect (please correct if I am wrong), security doesn't seem to be on the forefront of decisions concerning Emby and THAT is a big deal. If MFA is not a concern or even on the radar, what other vulnerabilities exist with Emby? Is anyone even looking or care for that matter?

I completely recognise this request from @macv and would absolutely love emby to handle these better. I prefer to watch most things with subtitles and it is such a pain to remember to have to cut and paste then rename to match the filename in order to get the sub playing properly. It would be one of the best possible updates I could think of if emby was able to scan the folder for subtitles and then load up the subtitle file(s) as options to select when playing the movie/tv show.

Hi Guys, I recently moved from Kodi with MySQL for lack of proper multi user management and server side support, I have to say I'm impressed with Emby. Together with the Kodi Plugin it really takes the solution to a whole new level, count me in among the supporters! One feature I would like to see is the ability to recommend movies or shows to other users: I share my Library with close friends and family but it is a big library so they are always calling me to recommend them a movie to watch. It would be really cool if after watching a movie I can click a Recommend button and choose the users I think would like the movie, then it is displayed on their suggested movies at the top with the name of the user who recommended it... Sorry if there is something like this is already there, I am new to the interface and don't fully know it but could not find such feature... Thanks!
