  1. Hmm - these look good to me - I've even checked them manually vs the format helper in the code .. very odd - definitely need that debug log as it will show in detail the 'construction' of all the codecs from the mediainfo query.

  3. I still use the same key that I got from Ebr as a gift from way back on 2010/2011 for testing "CoverArt". *I hope Ebr do not see this*

  5. So something like this curl -X GET "http://localhost:8098/emby/Items?HasSubtitles=true&Recursive=true&Fields=MediaStreams&IncludeItemTypes=Video&api_key=yourapikey" -H "accept: application/json" Don't see it in the api but add &SubtitleLanguages=por within the query. But may be different language codes. I got this from filtering a library with subtitlelanguage and looked at the query in the server log. So filtering a library with all your variables will show the query in the server log to better build your command. (debug logging) Movie with por subs curl -X GET "http://localhost:8098/emby/Items?HasSubtitles=true&Recursive=true&Fields=MediaStreams&IncludeItemTypes=Movie&SubtitleLanguages=por&api_key=yourapikey" -H "accept: application/json" all with por subs - remove include type movie curl -X GET "http://localhost:8098/emby/Items?HasSubtitles=true&Recursive=true&Fields=MediaStreams&SubtitleLanguages=por&api_key=yourapikey" -H "accept: application/json"

  6. Just an update for those who care or who may see this in the future. It was the reset button failure Essentially, (and I have NO IDEA WHY) there is a failure mode of the resetbutton, where when it fails, it fails "closed", as if its been pushed. Synology NAS boxes, go into Reset mode 1 or 2, when you hold down the reset button. If you hold it down for 4 seconds until it beeps, it will reset the internal admin password to nothing, and enable the admin account. It will also reset the network setup. So you can "move" the box to a new location if you forgot to set the network to dhcp. If you hold it for 30 seconds, it wipes the config. So essentially, what was happening to me, is the system thought I was holding the reset button down for over 30 seconds and wiping the config. Synology does have a fix for this: in /etc there is a file synoinfo.conf edit the file (you will need root permissions) and add the line reset_button_disable="yes" to the file This will make it so it doesn reset. I was able to buy a new 920+ from germany, but it was actually out of stock, then I got lucky and a new one popped up on amazon.

  10. After updating to iOS version 2.2.6 this morning my Home screen does not work/display, the loading wheel/circle just keeps spinning. Its the same on the web (chrome etc). On Apple TV the App works and shows the home screen content. Anyone else that had this problem after updating to 2.2.6?

  11. My receiver is old and can only handle AC3 without screwing up the audio, so none of my media is DTS, but I've read the same as you, and also about someone having issues with certain 720p files, but they didn't clarify whether that was 4 Ref Frames or not. All my BluRays have gone straight through MakeMKV, and after that I've run it through Xmedia Recode so the Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD tracks are now regular 5.1 AC3 tracks. The stuttering for me only seems to be occuring on BluRays with 4 Ref Frames (as checked through MediaInfo). 3 Ref Frames is stutter-free, and I don't own too many BluRays, so I don't have any 5 Ref Frame, 2 Ref Frame or 1 Ref Frame videos I can test out. When it comes to the 1080p 24hz instead of 60hz bug, I've luckily not had that occur yet, but I've seen others complain about it too, so I guess it's only a matter of time before it gets to me as well. I just wish Google would release fixes for this device more often, but seeing as we got an update in middle of October, then late November, and then nothing until the end of January, maybe we'll get another one in the middle of March that actually fixes these issues?

  13. As said, I don't recall Reset password ever being there, only Remove password for regular users. Maybe I'm just getting too old. Create another admin account, login, remove admin privileges from 1st accout, remove password or type current and new passwords, revert admin privileges.

  15. I am still very confused what this new feature actually does. Several questions (in no order, not necessarily related to each other): Does it solve the issue of separating bonus features and special episodes? Do the bonus features appear in a distinctly separate location in the UI? Is this more than just allowing alternate names to "Season 00"? If someone could give me an actual breakdown of how it's different than before (with actual screenshots if possible!) that would be very helpful. Thanks

  16. Hi. It really isn't as the label is "Latest [name of library]". You are inferring this to mean added but it doesn't say that and updated is also valid. Personally, I like to know when a series has seen any kind of update.

  20. @bigw00kie I saw a post on Reddit that claimed that the regular CCWGTV HD version doesn't have this error and that the 4 Ref Frames bug is only occuring on the 4K model, but I haven't been able to verify this as the HD version cost nearly as much as the 4K version in my country and I got this 4K version as a gift and therefore I can't really sell it and buy the HD model. Have you tried the HD-version/have Google told you anything about the regular HD-version of the CCWGTV?

  21. If you were to have a tv channel playing via an aerial or satellite dish and then put the same on live tv thru emby you would see the same delay about 3-5 secs. stats for nerds will give you the info you need. If its transcoding then it will be further behind because the frames are being processed. thanks for the testing and feedback… I’m out today watching the six nations rugby so will release tomorrow along with my infinite hangover hahahaha

  22. At the end of the day, it really should be a core feature for it to perform at its best. Given the JF implementation and the fact that it seems to work and be popular, should be a good jump start. But like all closed source projects, it is up to the Emby team to assign a priority to this relative to the other things they want to do. So, don't hold your breath but with any luck it could appear in a release. Or if they desired, the Emby team could contract out a feature like this to someone like @chefto get it done sooner rather than later. I remember seeing a request a while ago for the Emby team to publish their roadmap regarding new features so people can get sense of the new feature pecking order. Would be helpful for things like this.

  23. Hi Rob, Lets see if i can help you. can you turn on debug logging. Once that's done follow the steps in this video to generate a log. I think your version should also output what the JSON file in debug mode. Or i may have it just in this version either way it shouldn't make much of a difference. you can create a new library and just add in the 2 video files you are testing with. (this will reduce the time for scanning and writing) after adding make sure you do a library scan and wait for it to finish. then follow steps in this video MediaToolbox Debugging.mp4

  25. HI, Emby for iOS 2.2.6 has been released. Please try it out and let us know how it compares. Thanks !

  26. Hi. Can you try sideloading our standard android app on the same device and see how that compares? https://emby.media/emby-for-android.html Thanks.

  27. Yes locking at series lever locks all season and episode elements so nothing can be changed. On my test I only had TVDB and TMDB enabled. But really shouldn't matter as everything would come from first provider.

  29. I'm sad this hasn't been implemented from the Emby team yet, when both of the competitions have it. I just came from Jellyfin and the SyncPlay was a game changer, can create a room and us friends can watch in sync. If someone needs to step away it pauses for everyone. I hope this is in the works from Emby, because this is a highly used feature on my server that I can't use anymore.

  30. The issue is solved. This option was unmarked, maybe I've disabled it for any reason but I don't remember. After enabling it, I am able to play subs with or without transcoding enabled, just like I used to do. So, sorry for wasting your time and I hope this thread may be helpful for other people.

  31. I'm unsure what DV types they are. I have tried refresh all items but it still comes back the same. I am going to post a JSON of one of the files, is there any other logs that might be helpful?

  32. Look, you're complaining that breaking the law isn't easier for you. Grow up. Emby isn't being developed by some large-scale software company either. You can literally count the primary developers on a single hand. You've been told already that Emby expects files to be named a particular way. For the most part, even THAT is pretty loose. If you're unwilling to do even the smallest bit of work yourself, that's a YOU problem.

  33. I'm sorry, but is the complaint here that Emby is making seeding pirated torrents too difficult? If the main concern is dealing with people stuck using literally decades-old conventions for subtitle folders so that you can keep seeding, there are trivial ways to do this. First, decide what arbitrary system you want to deal with, but a hint is you're playing by Emby rules, not scene. So keep seeding your subs folder, convert your srt file, rename it to the same as the video+.en.srt It takes less than a minute to deal with it yourself. There's too much generalizing in here though, a lot of anecdotal "majority of users" statements aren't worth the effort to type out. I'm sorry if this comes across as terse or overly direct, but I think it's worth saying. If you're pirating your content, you can take the extra literal minute it takes to rename your subs. I'm meticulous about my subtitles, and it really does only take a minute to name things.

  34. In my opinion, there's really not much podcast support in emby. A lot of these shows are actually being added to tvdb now. So if Emby could add the ability to recognize audio files in a TV library, then you could use tvdb as a metadata source. I created a feature request for it, but I don't think it's gone anywhere.

  35. I do not know if the port forwarding on my personal router was required really, it was just already done when I did the port forwarding on my ISP supplied Modem/router. so I may have just needed to do the port forward on my ISP supplied Modem/router and the personal router Port Forwarding may have been unnecessary. who knows.

  36. Emby server > .19? Yes, this issue is not related to the plugin. There is nothing I can do.

  37. Actually I'm using Emby player now, and I'm happy, and now I say if we could have this subtle touches to the Emby player it would be great. Like if we had a shortcut for changing the aspect ratio beside the subtitle (cc) icon like Mx player and an ability to import fonts. And MX has a functionality that you could pause/resume the video with single tap and since I use that a lot I would be grateful if you could add them in future updates as an option.

  38. I've recently migrated to Emby and couldn't be happier. If Emby could introduce "Editions" correctly it will be a real breakthrough feature and unique selling point. In my view, the data model would be: A movie can have one or more Editions An Edition can have one or more qualities One edition of the movie is set to the default Movie Edition Quality ----- ------- ------- True Romance -- Remastered -- 4k | \- 1080p | \- Theatrical* -- 1080p | \- 720p | \- Director's Cut -- 720p * = default I subscribe to the "multiple editions of a movie not show up as separate items in the library, but rather a singular item from when the edition can be selected", so the ideal functionality would be: Admin picks the default edition When going into a movie, the default edition is selected You can select a different edition you want, and the normal logic kicks in for selecting the quality for that edition In "resume playing" it remembers not just the film, but the edition which was previously being played (when clicking resume it will do it's normal quality algorithm for that edition) - so the movie only appears once in the resume row and automatically resumes the same edition From previous posts I appreciate there would be complexities changing the data structure, but I'd really favour getting this correct now - even with some short term pain - to make the right product going forward. Aside from my comments, can I just add how brilliant this thread is and how good all the ideas floated are.

  39. Hey @Luke I was referring to the overview inside a "Home videos & photos" type library - but it turns out I just had a network issue apparently and the missing content was never loaded. Or was there actively something fixed along those lines in 1.7.0. (3)? So anyways it is now working as expected, sorry for the confusion I retried today and I was able to endlessly scroll down while new entries where correctly loaded when reaching the end of each batch. 41. To all users. At least 50% of all reported issues needs additional clarifications. I must make assumption, guessing that's the meaning and coming back with followup questions. I mentioned it a couple of times and I say it again (also put it in FAQ soon). 1. Find a pattern, "sometimes" is no a proper issue description. I need to know, when exactly (what triggers an issue). 2. Repeat the issue at least 3 times on YOUR box. 3. Use the stock Kodi skin to confirm skin-view related issues. 4. In doubt, perform the same test on a new Kodi instance (use a PC/Mac). 5. Sync issues can be a result of a realtime sync or Kodi startup sync. I need detailed information here. 6. Report your addon settings (most important, native or addon mode) thank you

  42. I use this device to transmit sound from the TV by Bluetooth (for my wife's hearing aids) - I've mounted it behind the TV on the bracket. It can be fed from the headphone socket or the TOSlink, depending on whether you want to disable the built-in speakers. Paul

  44. Personally I think EMBY should take the closest resolution and transcode that. Why downscale 4K down to 720p, that's a waste of resources.

  45. That's interesting. I'm not sure I've ever tried potplayer so I'll have to check it out. Thinking about it more, I could see something like this being really helpful to multi-language households. My next door neighbors for example are from Mexico but their kids were born and raised in the US. A foreign film for them watched as a family would probably be easier for all if both Spanish and English subs were used. Is something like that the general use use case?

  46. This is a very interesting topic. A lot of new comers here need to understand how Emby has come about and the history behind where we are today. I would like to defend Eric and Luke here. I have known @ebrEric since about 2008 when i stumbled across the MCE plugin and started using it, i started to learn code and wanted to do some stuff with VideoBrowser (yes that what it was called). He helped me out quite a bit with Themes at the start. He was the original admin with the other guy (can't remember his name) It then changedto MediaBrowser, still only a complete MCE plugin which was coded purely in C# and mcml. @Luke came on the scene a very long time ago can't remember when exactly, 10yrs or so, and was writing amazing plugins for the MCE app. He evolved and off his own back, and Eric's, They then started to create a server where apps would access it! MediaBrowser 3.0 was born!! Bearing in mind all this was still very free and actually it was the plugin and theme creators that could charge for their work, MediaBrowser 3.0 was still very free. Hours and hours of work went into MB3.0 to which i used to donate $10-$15 a month to them to thank them for their amazing work. The project was moving in the right direction. Then the project moved to Emby and new era a new structure. So what if they want to charge you for all of their hard work over at least the last 15yrs and make the project closed source. The whole reason for this, was because having open source, people would fork the repo, remove the premium validation and distribute it for free and use the server and apps for free. The whole reason it has been closed source now, is because of the UNMORAL & DISHONEST people in the world. They do this full time now so give them respect, pay your subscription and enjoy the app. Jellyfin do what they do and the interfaces are still from way back when, nothing has changed other than a few cosmetic enhancements. They snoop the forums for ideas and hoping to "acquire" code from plugin developers... to keep up with the Jones'. There are 2 guys here... that work their asses off to bring this amazing media experience, give em credit and support them as you should. And yes... Jellyfin should credit the devs. What makes me laugh is there are still so many components in their source code which have an emby prefix... so i guess that is some accreditation. (I'm just donning my Bomb Disposal Suit now...... for all the trollers out there!!)

  47. personally i would recommend setting up gpodder to do the obtaining and point emby at the download folder as a mixed content library

  48. It doesn't download them but sets up links in Emby to follow and play the Podcasts. Emby essentially streams them to the clients from the location pointed to in the RSS feed. So you could have 100K podcast episodes running on a thumb drive.

  49. Fix the very annoying issue with subtitle management, if you have multiple versions of movies there is an issue with subtitle downloading. You cant specify for which version you want to search / download subtitle, it always defaults to some version, think it is first that was scanned if i m not mistaken. Great new feature that was introduced recently that users are able to manually download subs is not complete if there is no possibility to choose for what version you want to download subs. Thanks in advance.
