CONFIG UI How it works Click Add New Camera Button you set up an IP camera by giving it a friendly name, the URL to make it work (there is a link in the config UI that will take you to a website to help you) select the protocol and then decide if you want it to be saved to a m3u8 file. Click Save Repeat for number of cams you wish to add Run the Refresh Internet Channels Scheduled Task Advantages for saving to m3u8 file Now..... saving to m3u8 file has a massive advantage. you can now import this into the liveTV as a tuner and set up recording schedules for each of your cameras that are in the list. You will require to install the M3U TV Tuner Plugin in liveTV setup select m3u then just select the m3u8 file that the channel creates on the channel refresh and hit save After you hit save you'll see all your cameras Boom now you can create a recording or watch from you TV guide hehhehe PS it is a Channel so can be watched live and direct thru the channel created on your home page GOOD SOURCE TO FIND YOUR CAMERA AND MODEL TO GET THE PROTOCOL Connecting to IP Cameras (ispyconnect.com) RELEASE VERSION 1.0.0.0 - Initial Release to Catalogue TV Channel Logos Dark Light2 points

Thanks! I'm no expert (or even beginner really) when it comes to networking. I updated the external secure port to 443 and external http to 80 (setting reverse proxy as you mentioned) and it works great. Thanks you very much!2 points

Turns out I did not! Have done now and have installed 1.5.0. Very much appreciate your help on this.2 points

@Luke @justinrh just to give an update on the free SSL Cert provided by No-IP.com. I have just received an email from them saying that they are retiring the old SSL cert issued by TrustCor as the major browsers are slowly phrasing out the support for that. Instead, No-IP.com will provide another free SSL Cert issued by DigiCert. Here is what I see from my No-IP.com page.2 points

Okay great I'll look out for that! Sidenote: I recently switched over from jellyfin, partially due to the great support I saw you guys providing in these forums. Thanks very much and please keep up the great work!2 points

sorry dicky… that made no sense. So you are reporting bugs on a plugin you can’t use, because you have no camera? interesting one for me. Glad it’s of no use to you. you can set up a dummy cam no problem but all fields need to be filled in when setting up the camera2 points

It would be nice to be able to favourite a video from the "video player" ui rather than having to leave the video to then favourite it. Tried searching but couldn't find this request hope its not a dupe, thanks!2 points

I'm a plex life time member, but I have been using Emby for over six years continuously, but there is a feature which I have always thought is missing in Emby which I would like and encourage the developer to consider including especially in this dispensation where families can social or commingle due to COVID 19. Today, I received a notification from Plex about it new feature titled Watch together you can read about it here https://support.plex.tv/articles/watch-together/ The feature allows friends and families at distance to watch same movies together instantly, you simply invite all your buddy, once they signed to the system which can be seeing in the server then play and pause as needed, this I think is cool feature should be added to emby. Let's here your though if Emby developer should consider adding this feature to our beloved Emby Media https://www.bing.com/news/search?q=Plex+Watch+Together&qpvt=plex+watch+together&FORM=EWRE1 point

Hello to all! Currently using m3u and most recordings are full length but there is one channel that seems to have more issues than others. Recordings routinely stop prematurely. When I’m at home and checking the process I can often re-start the recording and it continues as it’s supposed to. Other times I may have to re-start it numerous times ( which is likely due to an unstable stream) but this kind of defeats the purpose of recording. So, my question: is there a setting that I’m missing that would trigger Emby to automatically start recording again when said recording ended prematurely? Thanks in advance!1 point

I'm glad you're pleased not sure SWMBO will be when she finds I'm £42.31 lighter 1. I had a little side bet with myself that it was the core as I have seen other weird effects in the server management GUI. 2. @softworkz be kind don't make @Cheesegeezer suffer, well not too much 3. 4. I'll get my Tipex out and put a bit on the screen 5. But my time is precious, I could spend that minute pissing about with something else. All fair enough, but worth putting out there. My camera should be here tomorrow so watch out for the next nitpicking list Oh and of course the stupid questions!1 point

It doesn't seem fair or equitable to have the same exact product available a lot cheaper depending on what country you live on. You are getting the same tool, it took the same effort to create it. Why shouldnt I be able to pay 30USD vs the 100? If the discount exists, whats to stop me from buying a VPN in Turkey, or Argentina to purchase the license as if I live there. From what I understand, PLEX requires you to contact their server to run any of the plex pass features (it allows for some downtime) so anytime it makes this connection, you have to have the VPN up, thats no big deal,. but its a major pain to require a network connection outside to run the server. I would really hope they DO NOT go down this path.1 point

***FInal Update - Fixed Like Luke said: I spent the past hour trying to figure out how to do that, with all those terminal commands that won't work. Turns out, when i connected to my smb server on my mac via command K. It automatically created a local path under /Volumes/. I found it while trying to figure out other ways. Added that path into Emby Server, got the speed I was looking for. Two days wasted for such a simple fix... Thanks to all that helped though1 point

You can search directly into a season collection. The results are presented in a random order and apparently does not find all episodes. Voice command works nicely, if you have it turned on. So that is one click and Enter. That's pretty easy. You can then click on the S2:E2 first link and go right to the media page for that episode.1 point

That's because you have it sorted by Artist in Folder view; Sort by Title and you'll have both of those.1 point

OK. I know what this is. We are looking for data from the providers. I can fix that. I just don't know if I should run the provider results through a regex to try a little harder to get the right result, or attempt to build the NFO with the data from the server. Probabaly the second one. I'll put it into the code, and push a new release tonight.1 point

I never did find out what changed here exactly. I have a feeling it was within emby core and the waiting for results. I do remember "someone" said they were running the old custom provider and the new one side by side and they were different, but I never did find out exactly why. The only thing I can really see is that on the older plugin the metadata (text info) part instantlay returned as empty and then it did the image part because back then I was not even attempting to get the text. (They work independatly of each other (Text/images) within the Emby environment). So here Emby is not waiting for the text part. The page waits for both sets of information before rendering. So "I think" as it was not waiting for any text it was faster because of that. When text is retrieved it has to be updated in the database then retrieved, sql does this by writing to like a cached.db (library.wal file) before updating the real.db which should be quicker. Here im not entirely sure how it works, but I think if its not in the real.db Emby waits for sql to do it as "I think" sql reports there is an Entry to be returned. I have no control over this part. When getting text form scaping, I have to get the webpage then handle the text, dissecting it. Sometimes getting more than 1 page. This is speed dependant on the website returning the information. It can be blisteringly quick / painfully slow or anywhere in between. The only thing I can do here is add a "Timeout" so that if data is not retrieved in a certain time, report that effectively there is none. On some sites that will result in never getting the information. However, I can still return nothing for text as a config option ? - so the user has a choice of what runs in the plugin ... Get Metadata (text) (on/off) Get Images (on/off) I can even go further Get Metadata (text) (on/off) - Get Date of Birth (on/off) - Get Place of Birth (on/off) - Get Overview (on/off) - Timeout time selection box (per link/page data retrieval) Get Images (on/off) - stop looking after 1st Image is found - Timeout time selection box (per link/page data retrieval) etc. I think maybe if I added config it would suit everyones needs and they could be turned on/off as the user wanted .... Maybe given the option would be better.. options are always good If you compare the speed of the plugin to this plugin: MyPersonApi (has a config file to access my server) You will see that because the MyPersonApi plugin is almost instant with the data, its very fast - you cant even tell that its running1 point

Yes, I was just suggesting to check on emby metadata manager that the series is correctly identified1 point

That is really weird. Can I see a log? I can think of why that would happen. We don't look for names of items outside emby, so something's up.1 point

The first one (green) is a well-known patch which replaces all resources. This wouldn't be too difficult - but seriously...GREEN? The second of your images is a mock-up. It's not a patched WMC with a different background - it's just photoshopped. The fonts are wrong for instance.1 point

@Luke: thanks got it working now. Question: still have problems with the trigger sonarr/radarr with is build in default. I will report a problem soon. I don't use it anymore because this script runs now. But maybe you can improve Emby when it gets clear why the default trigger from sonarr and radarr aren't working.1 point

You basically need to download the DLL and move it to /var/lib/emby/plugins. Permissions 644 should be enough but you might need to give the Emby user the permission to access the file, might also work without it though. This is assuming you're running Ubuntu/Debian the paths on other distributions may vary. Hope that helps!1 point

The missus and I just binged through 5 seasons of Yellowstone. Oh my! It's like part Western part soap opera (probably why the wife likes it... ha ha!). Came on my radar when I discovered a Yellowstone prequel was being made starring Harrison Ford (it's out now, called 1923). It's a wild ride!1 point

Emby only has Intro detection unless you are using I believe the old plugin. Have you tried the ChapterApi plugin? Depends on provider order and library language preference. Requires TMDB as top provider and if they have translation for person. Need specific examples as have never seen a Banner be wrong for a season.1 point

OK, reuploaded it. Definately a testing version so use at your own choice. There seems to be an issue within Emby that @Lukewill need to clarify what is happening with audiobooks. In this thread: I was told to use an album provider for audio books, which this plugin does. however, when opening Edit Metadata most of the information is missing. (Overview , studio, People etc), - It shows on the library browser view! For some the overview shows, but all of them do not show people or studios But its not all of them for overview, it shows fo running man Tagline is missing from the editor! Im have no idea , but I presume there are remnants of an older audiobook system when it was seperate from MusicAlbum still present or at work here ??1 point

@neik - have you investigated adding tags via the API ? It's easy to add/remove them via a curl command or other API integrations - it may be easier than relying on NFO's. Once added, it then writes the tag's back to the NFO anyway and visa versa. Something to think about..1 point

I pointed that out quite a while ago. The question is…. At what point does the connection become encrypted. Before or after login. Today’s best practice says all websites should be using security (https).1 point

Hi. We understand and empathize with your situation but, as a small company, we cannot absorb the costs of these conversions at this time. Perhaps in the future. The flip side of the equation is that we would be selling a Lifetime of service and support for very little in USD.1 point

Hey, just made another request, and was directed back to my original request. I'm guessing adding a new site to collect metadata from might be a lot to ask. However, thetvdb actually allows people to add podcasts as tv shows. This appears to be a great compromise. The only thing needed is to add mp3 and m4a as a readable format for TV libraries. Can we have this added? Thanks!1 point

I think most people who are faced with decision tend to immediately think of it in terms of what they think they're going to be losing, but they don't realize all of the flexibility they'll be gaining by switching to plain video files.1 point
