  2. Good day, When we apply "Force Rest Password" for the new personal group "Member", many thought all our groups, it all explain in this thread: For that the admin's team decision to rename the members groups "Member" and "Members", the new groups name are: - "Member" will rename to "Rookie". - "Members" will rename to "Regular" - We will have new group name "Top Contributor". I will explain about this group in another post. We will apply this on the first week of Feb, 2023. My best

  3. Great, thank you so much. Now if I already have all the links that I needed. But in my personal opinion, at least you should add the zip for the portable installation, here on the same page of the Emby community, in the section of each download for Windows, of each operating system, or NAS.

  5. Okay, I played with that I bit and after some Googling, and the fact I only have 8gigs of RAM, I set the database cache to 768 megs and it is much, much more responsive! I think we're gonna call this solved! Thank you!

  7. You can now make snapshots of playing videos and then use these snapshots when changing or editing the Emby images. This is very useful for making your own video image metadata. Vic tool_2.8.zip

  8. Hii In Plex we can now put multiple editions of movie and they are treated as separate movies, for that we need to put {edition-xxxxx} at the end of the video. When can we expect the same feature in the emby? A link to the Plex page regarding the same is given below https://support.plex.tv/articles/multiple-editions/

  9. The Ceton drivers do not appear to support DRM protected channels. I got sick of waiting so Silicon Dust to release their 6 tuner, I tried the Windows based CetonProxy and even managed to get it working under Wine, but it was not pleasant to setup or use. The fHDHR project was setup for plugin modules, and the code was easy enough to follow for this Python novice to understand. I had a working basic module in a weekend. It is at a state now that I tossed the 3 tuner SD HDHR in a drawer. I use a PCI 6 tuner as my primary and an external 6 tuner as the roll-over. I do not subscribe to any premium channels, but I assume they may be problematic. One interesting point that Kimmer2k raised. Slow tuning. I got rid of Rokus in my house since they tended to orphan tuners, and with only 3 tuners in a HDHR they were too high risk. With 12, I allowed a couple back into the house. They still orphan channels occasionally. The last time it happened to be the channel I watch most. Until I reset emby during an update I had sub-second tuning instead of the usual 7~8 seconds. I too am looking forward to NextTV and hope it can be considered a priority in the next beta cycle...

  10. I've recently migrated to Emby and couldn't be happier. If Emby could introduce "Editions" correctly it will be a real breakthrough feature and unique selling point. In my view, the data model would be: A movie can have one or more Editions An Edition can have one or more qualities One edition of the movie is set to the default Movie Edition Quality ----- ------- ------- True Romance -- Remastered -- 4k | \- 1080p | \- Theatrical* -- 1080p | \- 720p | \- Director's Cut -- 720p * = default I subscribe to the "multiple editions of a movie not show up as separate items in the library, but rather a singular item from when the edition can be selected", so the ideal functionality would be: Admin picks the default edition When going into a movie, the default edition is selected You can select a different edition you want, and the normal logic kicks in for selecting the quality for that edition In "resume playing" it remembers not just the film, but the edition which was previously being played (when clicking resume it will do it's normal quality algorithm for that edition) - so the movie only appears once in the resume row and automatically resumes the same edition From previous posts I appreciate there would be complexities changing the data structure, but I'd really favour getting this correct now - even with some short term pain - to make the right product going forward. Aside from my comments, can I just add how brilliant this thread is and how good all the ideas floated are.

  11. Probably more like 100% of the database size rounded up. Once the DB fits in memory you don't gain anything going higher until the database grows and needs more memory to run in place. The upper limit is 1 GB so if you have memory to spare you can just set it to 1024 and let it use whatever it needs. I hesitate to add recommendations based on db file size as users on a NAS would likely have to SSH into the box, navigate to the proper place to look at the file size which will be present new issues. I think the best method might be to get Luke to add a couple little things to the log which I could document that would make this much simpler to adjust. @Luke could you add the current library.db file size to the log during start up? Then add a line to suggest raising the db memory limit to the next higher multiple of 128 or 256 if db size is larger then current setting. Carlo

  12. @Ninko try .43, I think you'll be pleasently suprised. @Spaceboy I'm finishing the alphapicker. They are hard to get right. I should not have never removed the one from the initial release. Look for early tomorrow morning.

  16. That is likely by design following other client apps in TV mode where episode thumbnail is dropped. Because you're in Desktop display mode - if you change to TV mode it'll get lost as well.

This problem is caused by my use of the image address of unreid, which has nothing to do with the embyserver itself. The solution is to enter the go script of raid, delete the image address in it, and then restart the device. https://forums.unraid.net/topic/131250-็‰ˆๆœฌ-6113ๅผ€ๅง‹ๆ— ๆณ•็›ดๆŽฅๆ›ดๆ–ฐdocker/

  23. Alright for some reason it only just occurred to me that the working file is MKV while the ones I've had problems with are MP4. I guess I dismissed that initially as a non-issue since the streams were both H265. Anyway, I was out of ideas I thought I'd see if there's anything there. I naively ran one of the MP4s through mkvmerge with no additional options... and it worked! The video now plays all the way to the end. This is honestly good enough of a fix for me for now. It doesn't take very long to run files through mkvmerge. I'd be happy to keep helping debug the issue if you're still interested though.

  24. Yea I can understand that but I've already watched it at the cinema (non 3D). I just can't justify going back to re-watch in 3D. Probably should have gone with 3D to start with, but as I said I don't usually like that format. Never mind, I enjoyed the standard version anyway.

  25. I did more testing and the poor quality video and audio in fact is now showing even when watching my HD homerun without going thru EMBY. At this point I don't believe this issue is with the EMBY server but something with my HD Homerun and potentially my antenna feed.

  27. No that is client playback protocol saying it can only handle 2 channel aac. Since your track is more than 2 channels you will get "Audio channels over limit". &aac_latm-audiochannels=8&mp4a_latm-audiochannels=8&ac3-audiochannels=8&eac3-audiochannels=8&trueHD-audiochannels=8&dts-audiochannels=8&dca-audiochannels=8&dtshd-audiochannels=8&aac-audiochannels=2&mp3-audiochannels=8 I guess the question is why your system shows limited to 2 channel aac as I have seen others logs showing 8 but can only guess as I am not a Android user but may have to do with client settings.

  30. I am not very familiar on how to do the set of commands you mentioned. After Emby shutdown, in Windows: I am able to connect to my NAS: ssh -l <username> <nas> then password Issued command: sudo -1 but not knowing what to do at the root command Prior to 'sudo -i' I am able to cd /var/packages/EmbyServer/var/data to get to library.db. I do not know how to use cp to copy to a local Windows directory. I've use WinSCP to copy this file before. I know my lack of knowledge of linux is not helpng me with this task.

  31. Weird fyi: I needed this PlayedDate field update in order to fix a problem where the next-up feature would show the episode after the last-watched episode instead of showing an earlier unwatched episode. (Phew, that was a long sentence). This "bug" fix has been requested in several threads including one I started recently (that thread has replies blocked so I can't post this comment there). Apparently that has been fixed recently! Next-up now appears to show the oldest unwatched episode. That means I didn't really need to start this thread. I'm surprised no one told me in the other thread this was fixed.

  41. Yes, mostly depending on content. Regardless, they are still something that many would rather not see and a simple per-user (or admin only) option for display would sate not only myself, but also people that have been requesting it's removal (and writing CSS code to do so) for many years.

  42. A worthy upgrade to just add the A380 imo - the 6th Gen Intel is still a very capable CPU - but as you say, the iGPU is somewhat lacking - especially for 4K. Remember, even the Gen13 chips do not have an AV1 encoder - the A380 does - and it's very capable. A combo of the gen 6 with an SSD drive (or ideally NVME) with the A380 will easily be able to transcode 6-10 x 4K streams, maybe more. If the Gen13 had an AV1 encoder - I'd say go for the new system - maybe wait for Gen 14 which will do - lol

  48. I would strongly suggest that multiple editions of a movie not show up as separate items in the library, but rather a singular item from when the edition can be selected. Libraries with a large amount of multi edition movies could look very sloppy. At the very least, give the user the option to show multi-edition movies as separate or grouped items.
