The trust/key stores are often different across devices. Even on the same devices different key stores may be used. For example some browsers and apps use their own while others use the system's key store. Then you run into cases where the key store includes the root and intermediate certs for some CAs but only the root for others. Add the somewhat recent intermediate cert rotation from Letsencrypt and the ability to validate the chain/root becomes hit or miss when not enough "links" are presented during the validation exchange. In your case HAproxy was likely only presenting the server cert (depth=0) which some devices could handle because they had the intermediate in their store, but others didn't. Including the chain/intermediate in the config lets your server present a more complete chain (depth=1 or more depending on CA) giving the clients all of the "links" needed to validate the cert.

Sorry I don't follow as that would not accomplish anything. But just saying a client cannot connect is not providing any useful information. Is it a local or remote connection? What platform is Emby server on? Can you provide server log? Is the connection wired or wireless? Can you connect with the web client?

@Painkiller8818 Something is not right as you don't have anything. Now I would ask if you have a custom metadata path with that folder being relatively empty?

I'm still on SE8 for this reason - but agree with the above view - HTTP delivery works perfectly well and unless you have a specific reason why you need SMB/Direct File Access - then it is (now) not worth the risk to rollback your Shield just to get it.

I'm not sure the LG 86UQ7590 supports HDR10+, the material mentions "Active HDR" they call "HDR10 Pro" but that's it. I know, I've been waiting for the next one to come out to get one! It's nearly 2023, four years is a long time to go between releases for that. They were prob focused on the Steam Deck for a while (which I own and absolutely love!)

Right srt subtitles are the only files we can get a path from. They can get copied over. But, from what I have experienced, once the strm file starts to play the "real" file in the library any embedded subtitle are available. They just don't show up in the top picks item detail page until after emby has played them. It is strange. I've tried to probe the library file to get that metadata, but, strm files were not able to display anything on the details page until after the file was played. It seemed better to not probe it during the creation of library because it took extra resources, and time to do it. As an aside, I've been working on your initial bug report, and I hope I have fixed the episode/season issue you found for the next release. I've tested two ways of handling the library structure. Both ways work for me. There should be an update soon.

This isn't even me trying to be snitty. I'm genuinely aasking for a pause to focus on quality of life improvements and maybe listing out a few bugs. Previously I mis-spoke when I said "Feature Requests". * QOL ENHANCEMENT: Downloads need to be updated for 2022: I think this could be improved by having a unified interface / set of functionality for the apps where all that is presented to you is you server as it is when you're connected, and if you're not connected the same interface is shown only with the media that is downloaded to the device. Basically implement a local-media fallback for the connected server interface. * QOL ENHANCEMENT: please facilitate media sync in Emby theater. * QOL ENHANCEMENT: share links for multi-user servers - I have a MASSIVE collection of music, it'd be a NICE TO HAVE (i admit) to have share links so i can send my users links to songs and episodes directly. cause at least in my use case we actually talk about movies and music. * BUG / SOMETHING OF NOTE: Cache media descriptions / synopsis locally. I notice these are changing. * POSSIBLE BUG: Collections are broken, Some movies group appropriately some times they dont. For example I have the James bond bluray box set. I started digitizing them and realized there was an audio sync issue on all but two so I deleted all but those, the collection freaked out and disappeared, 9 correct re-encodes later, the already played movies wont add themselves to the collection, but all the new, unplayed ones will. All of these movies have original metadata that was gathered when the movies were added to the server, and I don't know why the collection would delete itself when there are still 2+ titles from the collection that have stayed on the server the whole time, with their meta data. * On my tablet recently, Emby correctly downloaded the movies i asked for to my SD card, but then were "not available" in the app so I had to play them from android's built in media player.

Well, I honestly never had any issues playing from a widget before we started messing with it. Kodi never once crashed. This is certainly a brand new issue since we started playing with it. I'll test and report back.

Da wird sich nix bewegen, ich habe die Hoffnung aufgegeben. Für mich das schlimmste an der USB-(Neu-)Installation ist, dass dabei auch die ganzen Einstellungen in der App verloren, also z.B. Filter in einer Bibliothek, dass das Jahr mit angezeigt werden soll, etc. Als wenn die manuelle (De-) Installation nicht nervig genug wäre. Ist bei mir nur reine Faulheit, dass ich mich noch nicht um eine Alternative für Emby umgesehen habe, zum Glück zahle ich ja kein Abo, zumindest kostet es mich nix.

Shield Pro 2023 has gotta be out soon . I looked at a Zidoo and while very capable hardware, its custom Android and thus no support as a native emby client. I seem to recall hdr being okbut not a lot else .. but this was maybe a year/18 months ago to be fair. Blame Samsung .. seriously, they must be losing a huge amount of sales as they still refuse to support DV - which has 90% plus of the dynamic hdr market...

I'm simply stating that by adding intro chapters that are 'visable' you need to run/re-run the thumbnail scheduled task which then 'inserts' the new thumbs. If you are then just showing thumbs order (unrelated to timing) then for clients that do not have the show intro chapters option - then it is always going to be wrong. This is partly why we made the decision for the introskip plugin to just add them as normal chapters - then they work for all clients. The downside is you cannot turn them off once they were added short of refreshing the item. @Cheesegeezer

Strm can still be used. And still no access to Netflix, Disney, etc. That's probably never going to happen. I'm not sure about the others.

You can already lock the metadata for items so they don't change from 3-dot -> Edit Metadata and also the Metadata Manager.

The Vertex 2 supports HDR10+, but my Shield doesn't pass HDR10+ so all I get is HDR light on my Samsung without the metadata when using the Shield. 600MHz/18Gbps HDR, HDR10+, HLG, DV & LLDV, eARC, ALLM, IMAX I'm waiting for CES to see if anything new is coming out, but I may switch to a HD Fury or Zidoo which both support all forms of HDR

That would have been a tough find. $900 for an 86" with updated specs, 2022 Nano was $1600, and the MiniLEDs start at like $2000. The other thing is that I didn't really have the extra $500 to spend right now. If I needed the HDFury I could add it after Xmas or something. As it is, it's a freaking miracle that my wife gave me the OK on this one I think she is still mad about how bad GoT and HoD looked on our old TV.

The problem is, how does Emby know it's an alteration? It doesn't know because it thinks it has the right info based on the file names. So I think the answer to this is help us improve that by giving us complete examples so that we can look for ways to improve the file parsing and internet metadata downloading.

Just finally was able to update. I restarted Kodi after, and Kodi promptly crashed when I tried to play something from the widget. I tried a couple more times, and now I'm seeing about 50/50 crash from the widget.

I got it figured out. Thanks for the help you definitley pointed me in the right direction ! Looks like after recovery the HA Proxy backend was not set to use the CA as part of the certificate profile or something. What has me baffled is how IOS and Windows clients were getting the CA but Android wasnt.... ? Changed the CA field here from "None" to the Intermediate

You can use DizqueTV and put your own custom logo in any of the for corners while channel plays in emby after adding dizque to emby.

I think MKV is the only container you can just flip the switch in the header while all other containers need to be remuxed to rewrite the header.

Yes, it is a good strategy to have fewer annoyed customers that you can work with to find improved solutions over time versus getting unilaterally and irreversibly kicked out of the stores (or attracting federal law enforcement) and angering and losing even more of your customers.

To be clear, what you're asking for is not just an option but a whole new alternative screen to be developed We still have more work to do with the new player but as that eventually comes to completion, yes if there's enough demand for something like this then it's always a possibility.

NextPVR you can do all that without problems, I tried all of them and the one that gave me the best results was NPVR

To do this 'properly' - you need to a) just target where language = Und. If you assume the first track, or all tracks - then you may well be overwriting correct metadata .. b) In single and multi-language files, assume all Unds will be the same language - as you have no way of knowing what they are. @Cheesegeezer and I had this conversation a while back when we created the mediatool box plugin - I wanted to include modifying the Unds to a specified language - but after some conversation / agreement - what is worse, not knowing the language (where you can do something about it - manually or take a guess if you are just playing it back), OR assuming a language and it then it be incorrect - not only for you, but all your users as well ? If you can guarantee the Und is lets say English - then great, you can script to find the Und track and change it's metadata - otherwise - just create a script to pull out/list the Unds and then check them imo. re the method to do this - absolutely - just change the file headers with mkvpropedit and mp4box as specified above. While you're at it - check the defaults etc as well.

It's disabled automatically if on SE9 now. SE9 implemented some security features with Android 11 which required the app to be given extra permissions for DFA to work. When the devs submitted the app Google wanted to slap a warning on the app which would have scared people away. So, now they disable the option if running Android 11+. You could fall back (a few of us have done this), but it's not for the faint of heart and the little benefit may not be worth the risk of bricking your Shield. It was exciting though

No, the items in the playlist doesn't disappear. They just get marked as played. A playlist is the way to go.

Our standard android app yes, but not the TV app yet. But you can sideload the standard app on TV devices.

My intentions for remote is to have just a few family members and a few friends no more than 20, probably way less actually. I was averaging 70 download 50 upload. Thanks for your help!
