Yes - it has a UHD710 igpu - so it's good. If you can stretch to an i3 (12100 - NOT the F sku) for probably not a lot more - then that would be my recommendation, but the Pentium Gold will work just fine.2 points

I surprisingly couldn't find anything regarding this, hence this feature request. Sometimes it can take a few seconds per image to be fetched due to network issues and it looks weird for rows full of blank boxes. It's also quite jarring for those blank boxes to suddenly be replaced with posters. Thanks for considering.2 points

Confirmed this has been fixed with a test build. Thanks for the help.1 point

Ouch, how stupid is that. Oh okay, we're talking of google Heard of that the first time though, curious to try. Would be great to watch my stuff in the car when waiting. Thanks for your help! PS: Will reply here if it works or not, for anyone else who might search this and end up here.1 point

Yes, also still waiting for this but it's probably not a priority right now...1 point

Hi, yes it will catch up, but you can still keep updating between now and then.1 point

my thought was in the statistics you can also see what movies/shows a user already watched and based on this infos i think it might be possible to show each user different top picks. Thats just how i would try to make it1 point

I've set RequiresOpening=true. I'll submit this to the catalog. Thanks.1 point

I think I threw you off... when I wrote "stable version", I meant the version 1.6.2 available in the plugin catalog.1 point

That sounds weird, didn't even know of "driving mode". I put the phone in, and then it just works and i use the headunit from there on. But I will surely try that. The assistant usually works. It just never understands what i really want1 point

If you install the diagnostics plugin, you will get a mass of veey detailed info on the transcode etc. Once installed, you'll get a sessions option on the main menu. I don't believe stats for nerds shows anything extra though.1 point

I have a huge collection of old cartoon network bumpers, classic superbowl commercials, etc. Right now I have a library just for commercials and bumpers, My users have said how they never get anything done because they fall in an endless trap of watching whole seasons because of the autoplay. I thought it would be cool to play a 1 or more short videos after every x hours of video watching or between tv shows. For instance, my end goal would be to download all good commercials and bumpers and eventually map out every show to a tv guide that goes back to the beginning of such things. It would be cool to have this type of feature where you choose to watch comedy central in 1995 april 10th etc. The shows etc would be exactly in the order they were originally.1 point

Hi. We show you right at the 45 device limit. Note that this limit is not concurrent devices. It is total devices connected over the period of one week. https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001173135-is-there-a-limit-to-emby-premiere1 point

I'm very happy to announce here that, this bug has been completely fixed, thanks to @Luke on the commit "d052c4c281378de469e1cb0eb455860c81c8ea57", I can finally use emby for everything in my library again, no longer need a second app to manage games library. THANK YOU GUYS!1 point

Probably can't handle the max which DD+ can do, but I believe the Bluray standard for DD+ 7.1 is only 1664 kbps (1024 extension + 640 AC3 core) which is what Dolby Encoding Engine (DEE) creates1 point

ok great - I was on the fence as I wasn't sure ARC had the bandwidth - but as DTS is 1500kps, it 'should' be ok on standard EAC3 5.1 or even 7.1 DD+ - 768k > 1.5Mb/sec - so ARC should be fine. Anyway - thanks for confirming !1 point
-
My soundbar triggers Atmos with DD+ going through an ARC HDMI 2.0b connection when using the Samsung app. Direct play of course.1 point
-
Only EAC3 (DD+) and True-HD have Atmos metadata. If you are transcoding then it's highly likely the Audio (and any HDR) is being removed. You need to direct play - and from the TV App to the Soundbar - this is simply not possible for HD Audio. EAC3 with Atmos, may work over E-ARC - not sure about ARC - I think that is DD/DTS only. Providing a mediaInfo of the file would help to see what you are trying to play.1 point

There would also be more work to configure Caddy to do https over a different port. In any case you cannot completely escape attack - I'm sure that the Emby ports are on lists of ports to try. Using a good reverse proxy should be sufficient to keep you safe. Whitelisting a computer doesn't prevent others attacking just the same - it merely transfers the responsibility for blocking the attacks to a different piece of software or feature of the reverse proxy. Your intro made me want to describe "my use case" ... it would be to straighten out the naming of the existing movie library ... if that is at all possible. You may say: "just move your movies to the monitored incoming folder!" But then all the files that are with the movies (.nfo, .bif, .jpg, .srt, .sub, .idx etc.) remain in the incoming folders (at least that was what happened when I tried the current stable version ). Cheers, Roodee1 point

The history : The introskip plugin stored its detection/intro results in a separate db and if you ran the chapter task, it would add these to the core chapters. However, on a metadata refresh, as you has ascertained, would wipe the intro chapters, needing you to re-run tje introskip chapters task to put them back. The good news is cheese has written a new plugin to backup the plugin introskip data from the db in json and/or in the nfo if you use them. This can be restored, but its currently an all or nothing operation. Cheese is also writing (or has written) a version of the introskip plugin minus the intro detection.. leavimg that to the core. Ultimately its up to the core to maintain the intro data now following a metadata refresh, but it doesn't do that today so you need to use the plugins to work around it. Its messy, tbh not sure why an editor and saving of metadata in the core was omitted from the original core release ... Btw - a library scan nor a metadata scan should be removing edits .. only a metadata refresh should be doing this.1 point

As already stated, it does that for series also.....each episode in a season gets copied to each season. And if Specials are found on TVDB it creates a special folder, even though no sspecial episodes exist.1 point

Librairies support multiple folders, and access to those folders can be controlled individually per user. So there’s likely a way you can assign each user a folder with top picks specifically relevant to them. I assume there might be an API endpoint that can control which folders a user has access to.1 point

Hi. Billing support replied yesterday and did not hear back again from you. You are currently at the 45 level. Your 75 purchase was refunded because we thought that you had expected this to add 75 devices but it only takes you up to 75 devices. If the 75 limit is what you want, you can re-purchase the 75 monthly subscription. Thanks.1 point

My use case is pretty basic...watch a folder, if it has 1080p in the title, move to HD folder, if it has 2160p, move to UHD (both with the title (year) folder). v.39 works properly, I installed v.42 and it no longer works, both 1080p and 2160p go to the respective HD folder (using smart matches). I went back to v.39 and tested and it is back to working as it was before. Just reporting the issue, .39 (and earlier) seem to do everything I need it to do.1 point

Getting really close here! I played a STRM file without issue. Huge step forward. OSD was great the whole time. Then I tried to play a different video from the same widget (regular video, not a STRM), and got the old OSD again. I stopped the video and started it from the same widget again, and the OSD was correct that time.1 point

Hi, you can do this in Emby Theater for Windows: https://emby.media/emby-theater.html1 point

Hello Kanipec... Attached below is new code that includes IPTV support. Set up Emby for Live TV. In the tool, click on LiveTV to bring up the EPG. Now in the EPG you can play IPTV content. If you play Pluto programs locally it will not hang on commercials. I was able to fix the problem in hls. If you cast to your TV, the problem remains because your TV uses the web client logic. Give it a try and let me know if it works for you. Vic p.s. Please check this code to make sure that I didn't break anything when I added the IPTV code. I have been watching Pluto TV all night without one hang from commercials.1 point

Hi Luke, I did that already a few times and there was no change. But i managed to do it! I deleted the XMLTV configuration. After that i saw my channels and I also was able to watch TV. After that I added the XMLTV-File (generated with easyEPG) again and it is still working now. The only "problem" now is, that I need to add on every single program the logo (picon) and I need to assign the EPG on every single program. Hard work, but it is working now. Best regards1 point

Found it. The problem is with my script. It names the file properly but if it creates the season folder it will truncate at 2 digits. Apparently Emby wasn't sensitive to the misnamed folder but now is. I'm fixing my folder names and as I do the episodes are showing up correctly.1 point

To me that's a bug/design flaw as right-click menu there should be just as right-click/three-dot menu on the library thumb (and you'd have Scan Library Files option), don't see the reason why that menu should be crippled, @Luke?1 point

HI, we're sorry to hear about your frustration. Please email billingsupport@emby.media and we'll take a look at your payments and info. Thanks. @ebr1 point

@codechurn This is going to be hit and miss with .ts files. It's just the nature of the internals of mpegts unfortunately. I think what we're going to do is add an option to skip it altogether for .ts files just to spare the server from even trying.1 point
-
Hi, yes what we're doing now is considered best practice, but options to control it are certainly possible.1 point
-
PS - I think this should be expanded out to include movies. Specifically, movies that are straight to streaming platforms. When a new movie downloads immediately upon release, it will have wildly inaccurate star ratings, and other data might be missing, such as unannounced cameos. It would nice to get movies to also refresh after a week or so. Ideally, we could set a different refresh rate for movies vs episodes.1 point

This is a very interesting topic. A lot of new comers here need to understand how Emby has come about and the history behind where we are today. I would like to defend Eric and Luke here. I have known @ebrEric since about 2008 when i stumbled across the MCE plugin and started using it, i started to learn code and wanted to do some stuff with VideoBrowser (yes that what it was called). He helped me out quite a bit with Themes at the start. He was the original admin with the other guy (can't remember his name) It then changedto MediaBrowser, still only a complete MCE plugin which was coded purely in C# and mcml. @Luke came on the scene a very long time ago can't remember when exactly, 10yrs or so, and was writing amazing plugins for the MCE app. He evolved and off his own back, and Eric's, They then started to create a server where apps would access it! MediaBrowser 3.0 was born!! Bearing in mind all this was still very free and actually it was the plugin and theme creators that could charge for their work, MediaBrowser 3.0 was still very free. Hours and hours of work went into MB3.0 to which i used to donate $10-$15 a month to them to thank them for their amazing work. The project was moving in the right direction. Then the project moved to Emby and new era a new structure. So what if they want to charge you for all of their hard work over at least the last 15yrs and make the project closed source. The whole reason for this, was because having open source, people would fork the repo, remove the premium validation and distribute it for free and use the server and apps for free. The whole reason it has been closed source now, is because of the UNMORAL & DISHONEST people in the world. They do this full time now so give them respect, pay your subscription and enjoy the app. Jellyfin do what they do and the interfaces are still from way back when, nothing has changed other than a few cosmetic enhancements. They snoop the forums for ideas and hoping to "acquire" code from plugin developers... to keep up with the Jones'. There are 2 guys here... that work their asses off to bring this amazing media experience, give em credit and support them as you should. And yes... Jellyfin should credit the devs. What makes me laugh is there are still so many components in their source code which have an emby prefix... so i guess that is some accreditation. (I'm just donning my Bomb Disposal Suit now...... for all the trollers out there!!)1 point

I still suspect Chromecast update. Have a look here: https://piunikaweb.com/2021/03/01/chromecast-google-tv-keeps-turning-off-wi-fi-issues-with-5ghz-band/ === After changing Settings -> System -> Energy Saver = Never I was able to play 2.9 movies (around 7-8 hours straight) yesterday without the wifi connection being dropped. ===0 points
