Hello, I think it would be a good idea to add the possibility to also play videos in the emby application for android auto (although the problem is still in the Google rules). At least it would be interesting to be able to listen to the audio, for example if we play a concert. Then there are cars that allow you to play video when the car is stationary, and it would be great to be able to do that from emby. Regards

A few days ago, auto play next episode went bonkers. Sometimes it advances, but rarely played more than 2 in a row. They are the same episodes I have played for years at night while sleeping. All of the sudden they stop with 2 seconds remaining. If you hit the right arrow on the remote it advances with no issues, otherwise it just sits with a blank black screen, and 2 seconds remaining.

I have the exact same setup with button mapper going, but BM wouldn't really help my situation 1. not sure how you would even go about doing that 2. it would affect all apps outside of emby 3. as warned in button mapper, "remapping certain buttons can make navigation difficult, if you get stuck attach a USB mouse to your android TV to undo the changes" and I don't want to do that lol Thank you for the suggestion though

I was able to resolve the issue by running a malware scan and resetting the firewall settings.

Hi. Did you confirm the network is not public and that the firewall wasn't blocking?

Just create an official install build that bypasses the checks - plenty of how to's online. I did it on old hardware using the Rufus utility - where you can select the version you want. This is (or was,,) a legitimate option - it's not a hack.

I remember when i first came to Emby, i was just starting out almost 7 maybe 8 years ago. A lot of what i learned was because of the quality people and staff of Emby. I was blessed and met someone who has worked for Steven Spielberg Creator Of Star Wars for almost 25 years now. Who helped me with opportunities i would have never had if Emby Had Not given me the start and taught me a lot of what i now Know. Sorry for the delay. As I was putting everything together, I think I identified the issue. The file ACLs for the episodes after 39 did not permit access to emby user. File permission errors do not appear to be logged for all operations. For example, the library scan operation appears to be silent on permission errors while attempting operations on NFO file types generates log messages on permission errors. I am going to test further.

You can do that. Just shut down Emby on the impacted machine, copy the DLL files, and bring Emby back up.

No Luke - thanks. I was able to remux using MKVToolnix and they played just fine.

Thank you everyone. Everything is running smoothy since I switched to a new wifi router.. I have Windows 10 and my computer is hard lined into the router. The only thing not connected is my server is Emby to my tvs. It worked perfectly with the old router. I understand the issue is between the server and the TVs talking to each other. I'll take any suggestions out there.

Thanks, overnight everything I added yesterday had appeared in Trakt by this morning although again there were episodes showing as being added on the "wrong" date. However a quick look at Emby's Advanced Library settings showed that "Use file creation date" was set for the Date Added value; I've now changed this to "Use date scanned into the library" so hopefully Trakt will receive actual added dates from now on. The only niggle now is that Trakt is only being updated with new shows/movies during the nightly scheduled task rather than on the fly but that's not a deal-breaker and I'm just happy that Trakt now has accurate Collection details. Hopefully a future update will speed up the export of new episode data to Trakt.

I just tried it out this morning and it plays videos fine, the error is no longer showing up. I tested out several movies and a few tv shows and no problems. Thank you!

You would replace/rename the current system folder with the one in the zip or run the installer Luke like and it will rename system folder to system.old and apply the new system folder. C:\Users\TV\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system

Sort of as you install the plugin and point it to your backup folder. You don't really want to use Emby plugin folder for that location.

What tags do you have? But Emby only reads tags and possibly does name/title searches per provider if mbz info is not there. Also verify your music folder structure library setting.

Emby does not modify your files. My music collection is such that Internet metadata is useless for most of it (many of my own recordings; many commercial recordings too rare to have reached the Internet databases; and the standard metadata structure simply do not cope with stuff like operas). So I have simply chosen to make folder view my default for it, because the files are presented basically as I have them arranged on disk. If the files have metadata such as titles and artists, those do still get displayed, but the files that have none are also accessible. The main restriction to watch for (and it's a big failing on Emby's part IMO) is that if a directory contains both audio files and a subdirectory, then the audio files won't play - all the audio must be in "leaf" directories of the folder tree. There are still other improvements I'd like, but I've stopped (for now) agitating for them. Paul

Which App, as neither PC or Xbox Theater doesn't have unlocks, Premiere is required. Only certain mobile/Smart TV apps have App unlocks for full playback, but for LiveTV you'll still need Premiere.

I believe the plugin sends the date added value from emby server, so that's when trakt considers it as added.

Hi. Folder view is designed to show you exactly how you have personally organized your content. So, you would need to physically organize it the way you are requesting for folder view to do what you want. If we add any "intelligence" to this view then it defeats the purpose of the view (to show the content exactly as you organized it). Not at this time but there is an open feature request for that type of functionality.

MACs have a built in SSH client you can use from the terminal window, same as MS Windows 10 and later. I wonder if I should show a trick to enable viewing the hidden EmbyServer directory in the GUI?

Hi, yes we need to adjust the message when deleting collections. Right now it's a generic confirmation dialog that is used for any kind of delete. Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah what's going on here? Don't any of the developers own a Pixel phone? Issue seems to be pretty widespread and easy to duplicate on multiple Pixel phones...

I know. But apparently, this is not something Emby is even considering to fix: they appear to be happy if it works on the platforms/devices that are the least suitable for serious music enjoyment (iOS, Android). There is so much to love about this software, but not having gapless playback (something the first iPod ever already had in 2001) kills it. I don’t want to have a different server software and controller app depending on where I want to listen to my music.

For those who have been unable to play using the .deb or RPI packages, can you try redownloading the 3.0.16 .deb and let us know how that compares? We've repackaged it with some library updates. We're also working on a 3.0.17 release with more updates but wanted to do a quick repackaging for now. Thanks !
