I am puzzled by this - it never used to play the next episode - why has it started doing this? It really needs to be fixed soon - it has been going on for a month or so now.1 point

my example is when the devs release a new metadata fetcher like discogs and you want to get missing images..1 point

That's amazing work Grim! Thank you so much. I'm going to add tv shows now, but I may wait to push the update because otherwise users are going to have to restart twice in a row. But I have added the data thanks to you, and I'll push another update once I have figured out some of these other issues that have come up.1 point

Nice one, both Community and Critics ratings get picked up (my Emby installation is strictly externally-made NFO/artwork-driven - completely "offline", i.e. ALL internal scrapers disabled everywhere). Yup, same node. NFO files/TV shows - Official Kodi Wiki tvshow.nfo Yup, it does. IMDB shenanigans. Yeah, TMM is an awesome tool. No API, just CLI. Me neither, some time ago tried to get Luke to accept other rating surces (Metacritic, RT audience...), no luck as of yet.1 point

I have so many questions! Where does tinyMediaManager get it's top250 data from? Is it an API accessible to the public? That opens quite a few doors and possibilities if top pick data is available from providers. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of Rotten Tomatoes (unless we are talking about the Audience scores. I believe those... just don't really believe the critic scores... personally... LOL!)1 point
-
@GrimReaper I pushed .29. I've added the nodes, and it doesn't seem to have any adverse effects on nfos that don't have the rating collections. But I'm unsure if it will serialize properly with the rating collections because my nfos don't get written that way (which is weird). In any case, let me know if it works, otherwise I'll have try again. Also, I will still have to add the rating collection nodes ot TV shows, because it isn't in there yet.... do tv show nfos have this as well? EDIT: oh wait I see... tiny media manager creates them, that's why. Cool! So Emby honors all those nodes?1 point
-
I'm trying this right now. I've just gotta see how the extra types work when serializing the XML. I'll be back! EDIT: I think i've got it, but it needs to be tested against items that have those extra nodes in the nfo. I wonder why my setup doesn't create nfos like your set up?? Your nfos contain a lot more information.1 point

Yes, that's how's Emby writing (and reading them) them; however, those ain't official Kodi tags and Emby has been reading <ratings> node for few years now: <ratings> <rating name="" max="" default=""> <value></value> <votes></votes> </rating> </ratings> Few related topics: NFO Critic Rating Question - General/Windows - Emby Community Local nfos and Rotten Tomatoes rating (critic rating) - General/Windows - Emby Community Updated .nfo ratings format - Feature Requests - Emby Community ALL my (and number of users') NFOs are externally-made and contain such rating node. Could that one be read as well - or at least copied from db entry for original library item? Black Adam (2022).nfo1 point

It's exactly what I said. They have the detection in the client side l apps rather than the server1 point

Hi, yes we need to adjust the message when deleting collections. Right now it's a generic confirmation dialog that is used for any kind of delete. Thanks for the feedback.1 point

Oh boy, complicated much But in all seriousness, that shouldn't matter because strm files can handle urls. That being said, there is obviously something " a-miss".1 point

Ok, I found a working solution. Just moving the Series out of the Library Folder, running a scan (show disapears in emby) and then moving it back and re-scanning, ends up with only one version no matter the naming with -1080p. Thanks1 point
-
It don't think it reads ratings from NFO, I'll check that out. It might be grabbing rating data for the top pick item during the library scan. I'd have to double check.1 point

Odd they would choose Emby's port, I guess that speaks to your popularity @Luke;), I have quite a few ports open.1 point

Interestingly - on my system - single thread is actually faster lol. repeated the test a few times and got the same results (within a few 100th of a second). Source was one nvme drive and destination was another for reference. cpu an i7-12700K # Test Duration 3.5 Quick Extraction 1 Thread 5.73s 3.6 Quick Extraction All Threads 7.05s So yea, in summary - it's of magnitudes quicker than the classic extraction ragardless of what cpu/I/O you have .. Thanks @softworkz - an interesting exercise. edit - same nvme source/destination - fractionally faster but it may be because it was in cache ? .. # Test Duration 3.5 Quick Extraction 1 Thread 5.68s 3.6 Quick Extraction All Threads 6.97s1 point

So you have found a problem? The next beta will serve a special mpegts segment with null packets instead of "nothing" (zero length response). Hopefully this will satisfy the Roku.1 point

It just clicked in my head. Since you said that it will pull across libraries... I made a "Movie Trailer Library" and dropped the trailers and stub files in there. Seems so obvious now that I did it. Still wish I could hide them completely, I expect I'll get some frustrated comments as they still show up in recommendations.1 point

@riverboat2001 You still need to be able to remote connect prior to using Emby Connect. If you can't do that, then there is no magic in Emby Connect to punch a hole through your network and reach your server. That accessibility has to already be there. I would suggest checking out our Connection Troubleshooter: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001849007-connectivity Please try the steps listed there and let us know which ones succeed and which ones do not. @Happy2Play may have some CGNAT tips. They do make it more difficult.1 point

CreatePersonApi is now fully functional, it now outputs Banners,Backdrops etc and adds them to the source xml that creates the lookup json. MyPersonApi is now fully functional. It will now import Backdrops (only 1 is fetched automatically, that must be an internal emby thing) but the rest can be fetched from the Edit Images option. The server testing page is also now working. I have also started on CreateMovieApi, I have included it here as it seems fully functional (although its for testing). This will create a backup of your Emby movie library complete with the php files for the Api, I will now start on the MyMovieApi for fetching back into Emby.1 point

Hi, currently live tv can fill up your drive because the entire stream is stored on disk from the time you start until the time you stop. We do plan to improve this in future updates. Thanks for the feedback.1 point

A "compatibility mode" checkbox to force X264 transcoding regardless of source format, while still abiding by the resolution and bitrate settings would be a great feature IMO.1 point

J MKV Propedit enables you easily to unset the forced flag of any specified stream on any number of files; it recognises that an audio stream may have that flag. (The current version of Handbrake for some reason is making all "default" subtitles "forced" as well, so I often scan through with this program to remove that.) Paul1 point

Correct. There are also certain cases where the commands are different or even the classic extraction is being used. Yup - that's definitely the best option. Also, Emby might move away from bif in the future (Roku - the "inventors" of the format have officially deprecated it), so I wouldn't spend much effort on this. Even more, considering the fact that it's probably not just about image extraction but the whole scanning process. Emby is a "Personal Media Server". A professional media server would never combine content preparation, data management and content serving in a single product. One or more separate Emby instances for content preparation is the best you can do in case of Emby, when you want to go into such directions.1 point

Hi I know that there are alot of suggestions ... but the main request is: Please we need it as Netflix (same idea) if you make it only by create multi users and switch between them will not solve the issue. because the admin will always go to create these users and modify them . Please we want the user by itself to create these profiles and add restriction on it. for example if I create a user (account) for my brother, why i need from him to call me again to create another two users for his kids?!!! Appreciate your support1 point

Maybe a bug, but not a general stability issue => Feature Request => Feature Request => Not an Emby Server stability issue => Feature Request So, you begin by telling that Emby would have substantial and fundamental stability problems which are so severe that we should immediately stop working on new things and improve quality. Then you name a small bug (surely needs to be investigated but it's more 6 minutes than 6 months), followed by a list of your feature requests we should implement. Now, that's a bit funny... How should we work on your features when we must stop working on new features and focus on quality instead? Or should we just stop working on other things and work on your features instead? But wouldn't that mean that a general stability problem doesn't really exist? In that case, maybe, we could just continue our work, provide support for your issue and move this message out of the feature requests forum and follow up. Eventually, you'll be able to create (single and separate) posts for your feature requests just easy and normal...1 point

That is not a false positive as its not reporting a problem with Emby but with the client IP. It's likely an IP that is doing port scanning and trying logins using common passwords or other exploits to gain access. Malware bytes reports back to the central server when it sees potential abuse on a system. When multiple systems report this same IP it's flagged and action is taken as shown above. This is one of the better ways of stopping this sort of thing as you know it's not just your system but also other systems the IP is "attacking". It's dynamic and constantly updated. If the IP shows no issues for 24 hours, it's removed from the "dirty list". As more and more systems use advanced detection systems of this type it makes the use of public VPN servers even less useful because they are notorious for use by people trying to exploit other systems. That makes the chancwe of the VPN public IP being on a "dirt list" quite high.1 point

Not that anyone asked for my two cents... My imagination of the process would be like this: 1. Open Emby 2. Login (First Time) 3. Options -> Switch Account -> Add Account 4. Login to second account 5. Every time you open Emby, would ask you to select a 'profile' showing a picture from the account and their name. 6. Optionally, set a PIN to switch to profile. Securing profile against unwanted access on that device. This would all be stored locally on that device, and all accounts would need to be setup on other devices if they wanted a similar setup. Obviously, you can add more and more accounts be repeating steps 3 through 5.1 point

OK i have just tested this locally... So just in case there is some difference between what i have locally and what you have i have attached the program again. I have also attached the file i used to produce my stream files (of course you would need to replace your email / password but you can see i am using all 3 streams also) and a picture of the options i selected on the UI to do this. (please note that NOT all of the options are available in even the help menu as some of those are features I am working on a tthe moment. but if i do all that i get a LOT of stream files Finally if using from the command line here is what i call to do this (using the same setup as in the ui picture) and i get 10033 streams created CreateStreams-1.0/bin/CreateStreams -i false -n /home/afogleson/Videos/SportVOD.m3u -o /home/afogleson/vod -u true The interesting thing to note about the way that apollo does Sport VOD is that using -u true or false changes nothing. it always will group them into folders by event type. but everything does seem to be working CreateStreams-1.0.zip SportVodExample.m3u1 point

I think the only reason you would need to have multiple threads on this, is an initial brand new scan where you have multiple libraries across multiple platters across multiple I/O controllers. I/O then is less of any issue and you can utilise the extra CPU you may have. However, as this is such an edge case, I don't personally think this is worth any development effort. If you really need the thumbnails that quickly, then I believe there is a standalone way to create these - and you could run multiple copies of this if you so wish.1 point
-
Yep, it's a consistency thing for me. I could surely get by without doing this or kicking off the schedule job manually but doing it when Emby picks up new files on my system makes sense for me. Less stuff to do later during nightly processing. If I'm about to add a new TV Series with multiple seasons and lots of episodes I'll turn this off, scan, turn back on then kick off the job.1 point
-
I do that softworkz and it makes sense if using the option correctly. I for example had it off to load the initial library but then turn it on after this. Now when ever I load a movie or two it finds them, creates the index and I've got a perfectly usable movie as soon as it shows up in the library. Let confusing for family members then explain whey this movie has images and this one doesn't. Of course I'm not dumping 100 movies at it either.1 point

Hi Nice work I did not test it yet. As of now im using this webpage https://iptv-tools.com/app/tools/m3u-to-strm Propplerly use Name...not the tvg-name (Default) This could also be a solusion for some. I have emailed with the owner, and its alowed to use the API to scrpit a download of the strm.zip I have recieved the API from him but needed to edit it a bit to work porpperly. Here is is as a gift to all curl -X POST -d '{"url":"http://tv..---some--link--and--login--stuff----&type=m3u_plus&output=ts","tag":"name","movies":true,"series":true}' https://tools.erdesigns.eu/strm >> /var/lib/someprogram/strm.zip NB As a bonus ill give the bash command to spilt a M3U file into each contry and VOD section #download wget --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:21.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/21.0" "http://tv...---some--link--and--login--stuff----&&type=m3u_plus&output=ts"-O /var/lib/somefile.m3u #split M3U csplit -z /var/lib/hts/.xmltv/somefilename.m3u /'tvg-name=" ^v'/ '{*}' thenmove the propper xx01 and xx02 etc to correct lable.m3u file ass needed. I found a "black bar" shown as '^v' in my linux server (shown correctly on my mac ?? ) deviding each section in the M3U file..and then it was easy to split the file up;O) Investigate our own file for the devider key! replace /'tvg-name=" ^v'/ with /your-key/ Then, just add the file header to your new files and you are good to go #file-header sed -i '1s/^/#EXTM3U\n/' /var/lib/hts/.xmltv/somefile.DK.M3U Smack everyting into a script and run it in cron...and use them for emby and kodi etc. In Emby, you can now add each M3u sectment as a TV tuner...and asign correct EPG link to each one. An you can make the strm folder/ files for the index of VOD stuff Pretty handy ;O)1 point
