1.1.458 is the Windows Store version of Emby - installed from the store. 3.0.16 is the Windows Desktop version of Emby - installed by downloading and running the installer (it also shows twice on the task bar - once as "Electron"). They are completely different programs. In my experience, the Store program is far less capable (less direct play, more transcoding), but rather more reliable (e.g. the Desktop program sometimes opens with a blank screen and has to be killed and restarted). hi, mkvtoolnix V72 is out, i tested mkvpropedit on a few problematic files, without any issue. So far i can say its safe to use this version with mediainfo plugin.

It looks as though the user Engagement task was unable to narrow down any results to add to the Top Picks library. Because Critic and Community ratings weigh heavily on the choosing process it is possible that none of the media in the library currently meets criteria. Today I'm going to work on some code that will populate a list of items from user engagement based on whatever the user has available, if the engagement results return 0 items. This will guarantee a populated list, but will work on whatever the top community/critic ratings you have. Will post back shortly

Not now, but a future update will make channel switching almost instant for IPTV and comparable to a hardware TV for native tuner reception.

While Emby already has recommendations built in based on previously watched items I find they are not all that helpful. They seem to be based on genre only, for example, because you watched a comedy here are other comedies in your library. I do like how the also directed by/appear in recommendations work though. What would be great is if Emby could incorporate Trakt's recommendations as they are much more sophisticated. Trakt's recommendations are not only based off of what you have previously watched but also what your Trakt friends and other Trakt users have watched. It takes user ratings and trending/popular media into account. Ideally Emby would include full Trakt integration allowing users to rate media after watching, view lists and recommendations, and view upcoming media all from within Emby but for now I think recommendations would be a nice addition. Trakt has the potential to give Emby that community feel and allow users to discover new media, find something to watch, and recommend media to other users. http://docs.trakt.apiary.io/#reference/recommendations

@arrbee99 Do you have both installed? As the each have their own shortcut. But one comes from app store and the other from website.

I was using Emby Theater, which as far as I know (normally) direct plays, though looking at the server while its playing it shows its transcoding. I'm not if if my copy of Theater is very well at the moment. I guess I didn't illustrate things very well, but I've also tried it on the Shield and still think NextPVR is significantly faster when direct playing.

True, but I don't have it anymore so can't. Don't know if anybody else does... Though it depends of course on the hardware you have and whatever... Edit - and the above shows whats possible.

In either case I liked the product enough to get a lifetime pass even with the issues on ATV - with the hope it would eventually get resolved In the interim - Thank you for working on this and I look forward to seeing this update

@Junglejim I have released a new version this morning that I believe will fix the items being out of order on the home screen. I think. Top Picks will now create it's own .nfo file for items, if there isn't a library nfo file to parse. I hope this will fix the issue. @LazyMonday91 User Engagement will now calculate best the best we get if the top overall items results are 0. We first attempt to locate items that have a really high overall rating based on community/critic and user scores. If nothing is found, then we take the highest ranked items we can get on your server specifically, and use them. I look forward to hearing back from you guys.

Habe gerade den Wert auch auf 100 gesetzt und habe danach über die Einstellungen "Datenbank aktualisieren" gedrückt, phantastisch schnell und "keine" Fehler. Danach musste ich die Boxsets nochmal manuell anstoßen, kann man das ggf. nicht gleich mit in den Prozess integrieren. Boxsets würde ich aber trotzdem noch parallel als Option lassen. So gehe jetzt raus, bis später oder die Tage. Schönen Sonntag dir!

Kanipek has been giving me suggestion on how to improve channel tagging. I learned a great deal from him, including that each channel has three logo images. The code below is the current implementation of the channel tagging code. The attached zip file is the latest code. Everything is working except playing IPTV from the Program Guide. Virtual TV content plays OK. Everyone, please let me know if anything isn't working as expected or if you have suggested improvements. Vic tool_1.6.zip

@ebr I just tested this and the manual drag and re-order is actually disabled on any sort other than Playlist Order. That's a good idea IMO. Luke did a good job designing this feature.

Hi all, I got 2 quick questions: Is it a real problem to make the existing Alexa Skill available in other countries? I do not mind talking English with Alexa. Mine are set to 2 languages anyway. But I cannot download or enable the skill on amazon.com. All that is needed for this is to make the existing skill available at amazon.(be|de|fr|it|nl|se|??). Is that such a big hurdle? Would it be helping to turn the skill into an open-source-project and everyone can have a stab at it? Just curious. Cheerios, Roodee

Defaults to mp4 now instead of ts. The default should solve playback start problems that sometimes occured in the browser app, but maybe breaks Roku. Because i've finally switched to a newer Emby version, no more updates for Emby 4.5 or 4.6!
