Notes for anyone else that tries this: Followed the intel guide published on 10/20/2022 for installing the Arc A770 on Ubuntu 22.04. https://dgpu-docs.intel.com/installation-guides/ubuntu/ubuntu-jammy-arc.html Installation confirmed successful & correct permissions set Ubuntu reflecting both UHD 750 & Arc A770 16GB enabled & available Issues: Unable to get Emby Server (Docker Container) to see the Arc A770. Only transcoding options were Quick Sync UHD 750 & VAAPI UHD 750. Multiple attempts made over a 2 - 3 day period. For reasons unknown, even though the default transcoding options were not changed & remained as Quick Sync UHD 750, HDR10 hardware transcoding started failing, & caused Emby to software transcode 1080p HEVC HDR10 content (85%+ CPU utilization for 1 stream). The only observable failure, was on HDR10 content. Physically removing the Arc A770 & rebooting the machine, corrected the issue & allowed Emby to utilize hardware transcoding for HDR10 content once again (CPU, less than 2%) Conclusion: Will give Intel a couple of months to continue work on drivers, as IMO, the igpu's ability to use quick synch & transcode HDR10 content should not have been impacted by having a dgpu installed & available to the OS.

This may be a strange request, but I am foreseeing for when certain sports start going I think it will be needed. My provider has a limit on the # of connections, so what I wanted to be able to accomplish somehow is to have 2 m3u tuners with identical channels, without having the channels be shown duplicated, or without having to run separate emby servers. The idea would be to have the 2 identical M3U tuners with the different authentication URLs, one EPG Guide, but instead of showing duplicate channels it just intelligently takes # of tuners from one, and once full uses some from the other. So lets say its 3 connections each, once Tuner 1 has 3 being taken up, then use connections from Tuner2 which has identical channel lineup, just different authentication URL. Even taking it one step further that could be useful to many is using this feature as a "Backup" Live TV source. In case the provider is down that supplies however many connections one could possibly have an alternate provider, maybe a cheaper/less reliable one that has one connection just to keep some alive and have an additional tuner for some of the channels.

Hi all, would be nice to see the following for movie-collections: 1. add the time range automatically under the cover (1950 - 1977) for example. Should be changed automatically also when a new movie is added. 2. add the amount of unseen movies from the collection, same what is displayed by series. 3. add the next movie from collection to "Continue Watching" would be nice aslo.

I have installed Emby couples of years ago with docker, with the following volumes settings volumes: - /srv/docker/container/emby/config:/config - /srv/media/tv_shows:/data/tvshows:rw - /srv/media/movies:/data/movies:rw - /opt/vc/lib:/opt/vc/lib #optional - /srv/backup/Emby_Config:/data/Emby_Backup:rw it's all good and fun, me and my users love it, no main issue I was doing some server maintenance and realised that I have a folder in /srv/docker/container/emby/config/sync that is pretty big (370Go), with lot of numeric subfolder that have big mp4 files with random name in it what is the purpose of this folder? is there a possibility to reduce it size? I looked around but only find reference to the sync plugin, which is not installed thanks a lot for your support (and absolutely awesome piece of software)

After some more research i found out im not alone with the corruption problem. https://gitlab.com/mbunkus/mkvtoolnix/-/issues/3416 I added my experience to the ticket and provided a test file. For now i can say, using mkvtoolnix / mkvpropedit V71.0 / V71.1 is not safe to use for some files, at least under linux. Not sure about the windows versions. For now i downgraded to mkvtoolnix / mkvpropedit V70.0, processing my testfile was ok with this version. Unfortunaly this does not solved my problems with mediainfo 1.0.1.14 (for movies). As another user who continues to be frustrated with continuing glitches in Emby's retrieval of various images, let me at least encourage you to start by carefully editing the metadata on all of your tracks with a program like MP3Tag. Until your metadata is pristine, it's hard to give a clean, useful error report to Emby staff.

The raw file will maybe tell me if it's the file streams that are corrupt, or it's simply missing/corrupt headers. The log file from your original post (when it froze) is I think the key here - we need to see this - but I'm also willing to look at the corrupt file for you to see if it's recoverable.

I was wondering if implementing this feature could be a possibility eventually. Considering the option to change the version of a movie is so tiny, I'd like to be able to have the poster change whenever choosing the different cut of a movie such as Apoc. Now with the 10,000 cuts it has. I understand I can split apart the movies but this ruins the look and flow of my set up imo and I personally think the ability to change version posters would be neat. I also realized that the information such as length, rating, etc are based on the original release of the film and don't change when selecting another version. I would hold off on this until the damage to files are understood - you may make things worse. If the headers cannot be read (by ffmpeg or mkvtoolnix) then I doubt they would be set back to blank anyway tbh. Need to see the log and ideally an example file that we can examine.

Something like this in DB editor UPDATE MediaItems SET CommunityRating = NULL -- your new default value WHERE CommunityRating IS NOT NULL UPDATE MediaItems SET CriticRating = NULL -- your new default value WHERE CriticRating IS NOT NULL But all new items will still get from providers. Note always ensure you have a working backup of your db's if you are going to manually update them.

Correct If not saved with media you have to manually update the database and some library files correcting paths for your new platform.

The other side of the story is that rarely anybody has been asking for this. In internal talks, that subject came up from time to time when it came to codec parameters and encoding quality and the conclusion was always like: well, there haven't been any complaints or requests in that area. So it kept getting postponed. There have also been two or three occasions where a user asked for H.265 transcoding with a story about a certain problem case where H.265 would be needed. All these incidents proceeded and ended in a similar way: after I had given detailed instructions for what to try and which parameters to set for a sw or hw H.264 encoder, it was responded with interest and promise to try out those suggestions - but we never heard again from any of them. You don't need to be a medium to recognize that this same pattern is driving some of the users here as well: they don't have a problem to solve or deal with - they just want that label on top "HEVC or H.265" and their described problems are only constructed to make a point and convince us on supporting that codec. But there are also users who really have a problem or a situation that they would like to improve, and I want to invite all those users to a new conversation where we can explore and try out the uncovered range of possibilities that are available for streaming improvements with H.264. Yes, it will reset all plugins settings and a database reset will also be automatically triggered.

So I open the Emby app and select an episode that is listed in the Continue Watching section. On the episode details I press play. Effect: when the episode is done, it automatically continues with the next episode of the series. I would rather have it stop playing and not continue ( hence why I untoggled the option on the Emby server ).
