I'd really like to have 2 Factor Authentication added to the login screen. It's just this (optional) extra layer of security to help secure the server (which, especially if people use camera uploads) contains pretty private data. There are for every type of programming language quite a few libraries available, so implementation on a server shouldn't be too hard to realise

Update - 18 July 2024 OK, so in this update you have the option to Prefer Extended Cast Information So, What does that mean? ADM by default gets the cast as listed from various websites as comma seperated values which it has saved in its database (it doesnt connect to these sites). e.g. for this movie (https://www.jeedoo.com/product/1958794-Big-Booty-White-Girls/) the ADM information server will have added to its database:- the CSV data: Somina, Luisa Rosso, Isobel, Mia Bang, Melanie Crush (Click Details to see this information on the site) ADM will then add the cast Names as Entries, but will NOT assign them with a provider id unless it detects one in the server data directory for that person . To do that you will need this turned on. Without provider ids, the same name will link across all records as tthe same person. A provider id ensures that the person has their own unique record. The feature mentioned here (Prefer Extended Cast Information) will not use the CSV Data, but will check the ADM Server for a data file which contains Actors WITH provider ids, like this: Director: Justin Slayer [IAFDG:2a51536e-201f-4a2d-a6a8-272ba1616184] Cast: Boz [IAFDG:6813ec37-79e0-4c24-a645-912ee51d12af] Cast: H. You will also notice that these names are not always the same as the CSV data that may have aliases instead of the actors career name. THere may be more data available too, in this example there is more actors listed with more complete names. If this information is not avaliabe (yet), it will automatically fall back to the CSV data AND will look up if there are any provider ids avaliable for this person within this movie data. This is a further expansion on the update from the 15th July 2024 Because Adult information is so mixed up across sites and can be severely limited in different areas, ADM utilises several different methods to complete the information as much as possible. Currently because of this ADM is not as fast as Tmdb etc ADMv2(18July2024).zip Update - 15 July 2024 Added more provider id support for actors/directors/writers/producers, ADM will check if there is a known provider id for the actor it is adding at the time of adding the movie, this will help to prevent same actors for different movies that have a the same name, but are a different person. This should now make emby create an entry for each individual, and not just one that fits all. This is a relatively new addition and will have more and more information in time. This is also not supported in earlier versions, unless download actor images was on. The provider ids will fetch now without download images being on, but there are also a few more provider ids supported. This may have also affected normal metadata scrape results. (it should also address a timeout loop that this was causing) Please report if it still occurs. (currently about 15,000 people images- many cross referenced to alias names too) 26 May 2024 A couple of fixes for MovieList Updates - if file doesn't exist & locked Metadata Data File. ADMv2(26May2024).zip 15 May 2024 I have replaced the internal database update feature, so that it updates differently, Now it will update daily (if it is turned on), or when its ran if its not a recent daily update. This will vastly increase metadata scanning speed, especially when everyone has left the previous version. This is because the internal database is now over 15mb and is now taking a toll on my server as it is being downloaded excessively due to the previous methods. The previous versions updated every single time it detected that the online versions filesize was greater than the offline version and that inluded even if there was only 1 movie added to it, There is no longer any need to update it so often. Turning off daily update in the settings page will also increase speeds. There will be no waiting for an update or any clash waiting for the update file to be released by the server if the server is writing to the file. You do not need it on unless the item you are wanting to fetch was added since it was updated in the online database, or since it was last turned on, or you dont have the database on your system. I have also changed the access key - in order to make users come here and see that theres an update. Any issues with a missing database or corrupt database file, then delete the cached db in emby cache folder - cache\ADM\AdultMovieList.txt The obtain a Key link is fixed, but will redirect you to an information page - where you can also donate if you wish to keep this plugin alive. However might be a little less lenient of titles that are less exact match of the originals names. Try it, and see Update 17 July 2023 This is a new plugin based upon the old one - a lot of code was re-written. We are now on Version 2. To use this one please remove the old version, and install this one. This version should be a lot faster! - Typically 3-4 seconds per movie with logging turned on, even faster when logging is off! They both have different plugin ids, so they will both be valid and visible together however there might be a little crossover in the code so Id recommend removing/backing up the earlier version. All searches (except person at the moment) now display Thumbnails (if they can - server now has most images as thumbnails too) in the web dialogs rather than the original full size images this greatly improves rendering speed of the results pages & lowers memory overhead. 2 ADMv2 now has its own Person fetcher, when you click the image placeholder. If my server has the metadata for the person, it will update - even with imdb/tmdb id's if it has them!. - This is a new addition! 3. However there is now an option to grab the full dvd (full landscape front & back) covers as backdrops if you wish. If enabled these will show in backdrop searches. On the server the ones currently available are fullcovers mostly for the tens of thousands of JAV titles. 5. Partial Prep work is now there for Extended Cast information, this will be another way to get more Provider id's and better Cast records - which in turn enable the correct information to be fetched by Tmdb or TvMaze. Its not working yet, but the ground work is almsot complete so thats why you can see it. This will get know actor names when aliases have been used on dvd releases and use them instead. This can also be achieved with ADMv2's Person metadata refresh, but when this part is ready it will add it at initial import of the movie! 6. Logging has been improved and split accross files of each timestamped activity. Leave dissabled for speed. Use when you want to find out whats not working and why. 7. I have also added a log option to show where the data is missing from the server - log XML Errors 8 Aug 2023 Identified another issue with identify failing, MovieList file lock causing Identify to abruptly fail resulting in 0 results when media adding/metadata scanning at the same time uses the same file. * Added a wait until file lock release to the MovieList (Up to 5 Second delay), should be less than 1 sec for any of the ADM processes. This will also work in scanning metadata and adding items to the library, so *should* prevent anything failing to use the MovieList for lookups. Pleae note: that the speed of the search depends of the words you use, if you use something common such as "girlfriend" then you will get 1000's of results and the dialog may take a few minutes to respond. Could the way User Settings are handled be changed so that: 1 - Every setting that is changed via the Admin/Server - Users settings page becomes the new default for that particular user (instead of the Emby supplied default). 2 - Any setting that is changed appropriate for an end user to change from within that particular user account being signed in is saved at the local device level, and would be used instead of Server specified defaults. This wouild: A - Allow us to adjust the default behavior when NO local settings exist. B - Still have local device specific settings override what have been set as Server defaults. (Allowing the same User to have different settings per Device - as it is now.) It doesn't seem like the logic would be that much different than it is now. Assuming if no local settings already exist today, the Server has to pass along what it has them as for a starting point. The change wouild just be allowing us to alter what any of those base default settings are.

Hi, I know it is possible to put different Versions of a movie into same folder and give them behind the "-" different names for identification. I use this feature very often, also if a movie is in 3D, HD and 4K available. Sometimes also special Extended Versions, etc. I also use this Feature for Multi-Movie Boxes, like Tarantinos Grindhouse. (Grindhouse (2007) - Death Proof, Grindhouse (2007) - Planet Terror) which work great. But I noticed, that the Chapter List in the Grid View don't refresh, for the newly chosen file. Is it possible to implement this, that you see the chapter list of the selected version?7 It's not a big deal and not a nobrainer, but it would be more elegant if this could work. Especially if different Movie Versions have different Chapters.

Is there any plan to introduce account lock up or disable if any account is not used (to log into Emby) for "X" number of days? Also if there any option to enable 2FA for login?

Hi. Sometimes some of my watched episodes are shown as unwatched in Kodi. So when I mark them as watched manually this thing appears (that you can see in the upper part of a screenshot). It says Emby Folder and then seemingly random number and just stucks at 100%. Whatever I do, this thing stays the same even when I restart Kodi or reload skin. The only thing that helps is local database reset, and I'm not keen on resetting database every couple of days.

That is the controversy of Playback quality as the resolution is irrelevant as scaling appears to be driven by bitrate. So all quality resolutions should technically be removed. If 1080p - 4Mbps is an option, then Emby should be honoring it, or options should be changed. Some discussion here as I am confused by this also.

I created new keys for Sonarr and Radarr, copied the keys into the respective apps, and just like that, it worked. SO, if you have this issue, check your keys

The Diagnostics plugin adds User Sessions to Setting to present you with a layout like that for your users playback session.

Yeah so you get the episode seperately indexed with metadata. When you click to play, you get standard ISO playback, which depending on authoring varies from, option to select a chapter or launch Blu-ray menu, so then you select the episode from the Blu-ray menu when it loads. DVD and some BD ISO’s go straight to menu without giving a launch menu. Unfortunately some BD Java menus will just error, but those are Kodi issues, proper Java menu support has been available for some time, but never makes it into the official release. This is using Kodi with Emby e then add-on and Embestuary skin.

ok cool - I have never tested on ISO's as I don't use them. So by clicking the episode via the emby STRM link - it opens the ISO for playback ? (where you then manually select the episode ?)

Thanks, I'd already gone down that path of creating faxte/text ISO files, and editing %USER%\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\data\library.db using DB Browser for SQLite, which worked initially but the next time the Library refresh was run, it would somehow remove the episodes from the Metadata, even though the database row was in place and unchanged, and just before I had the chance to investigate further, I saw your reply. So I've just tested with strm files and so far so good. MAGNUM PI (1980) S01E01E02E03E04.ISO is the original disc file I've created MAGNUM PI (1980) S01E02.strm MAGNUM PI (1980) S01E03.strm MAGNUM PI (1980) S01E04.strm containing the local network path to the ISO file \\192.168.1.2\tvshows\Magnum, P.I. (1980)\Season 1\MAGNUM PI (1980) S01E01-E04.ISO It will literally take me 30s to create these strm files for any ISO file. The only housekeeping (because I want to maintain the original file-naming for Kodi compatibility) is to use MetaData Manager to edit the Title and Sort fields for the episode strings that are on the ISO, with the single episode title and lock it. This now gives me full episodic meta-data and a single entry for each epsiode, which is exactly what I wanted. Thanks all for the assistance.

6mbps for 1080p using h264 is considered too low - thus it is scaling to 720p. I believe 8Mbit+ is the recommended 1080p h264 min bitrate, at that bitrate, it will not scale.

yes - it will need a little more due to overheads (3%) - so 10Mbit is more than sufficient.

So if your HEVC are all at 5Mbit - then 10Mbit will be plenty - remember this is a Max - they will still only use 5. Remember this is a per user limit - so if you have 30 Mbit up - then theoretically you could have ~5-6 users at once (but then using all your upload bandwidth).

Just tested this, and can concur - adding a to a photo does not show anything in the 'Favorites' section @iamanoffering the only way to currently see only your favorite photos, would be by filtering that view using the controls on top. @Luke I think it would make sense to allow photo items to be aggregated in the global 'Favorites' page

Unless you need the space, just encode on demand. Seriously. Also, instead of transcoding the audio to AC3, I would suggest OPUS as it's almost lossless, in that the human ear can't tell the difference. Anything that I transcode goes to 384kb OPUS for 5.1 or 160 for stereo (sometimes as low as 128). For the CRF, if you're doing TV, 20 should be about what you should be using as per these guidelines.

@Bigmack3000 This is an example of how you could use filtering. From my Movie Library: Click the Filter button to the right on the bottom row. You will then get a page with many options you can use to search with. This is just a one part of that screen. Here you can see I changed the Audio Codec to "ac3". Once I click the left arrow top left to remove this screen and go back to where I was this new filter will be applied and I'll only see movies that contain an ac3 audio track. Hope that helps, Carlo

It's not a compile issue, this a side effect of keeping it separate from the system, especially from an already installed ffmpeg. Using the following should do the trick: LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib/emby-server/lib /usr/local/lib/emby-server/bin/ffmpeg -hide_banner -loglevel error -nostdin -i "$infile" -ss $start -t $duration -c copy -y "$chapterfile"

Here's the use case; I create account for friends/family. Few of them don't bother to login after a few days. They may use short or insecure passwords (think 123456 ) They are not interested in my content or simply forgot about it. Now I have a box with insecure accounts and that is accessible via WAN. So if there's an option where I can auto-disable accounts with 21 or "X" days of inactivity that would be great. While we are at it, it would be awesome if Emby could send me email about this and any other Emby related system event. An SMTP tab would be a great new feature.

Yeah, what Emby calls "Overview" in photos metadata, would sure be nice if there was a way in the client to overlay photos with button click of some sort while viewing. Yes, I know you can "edit metadata" in web interface and such but not speaking of that, just view the comments (er Overview). And original date as well (Emby says "Release Date") I add comments ("Overview") in the photo metadata for some photos for memory sake and it would be nice to be able to see those. Emby correctly captures them.

Here is the scenario: You have 2 versions of the same movie, a director's cut and a theatrical cut. Director's Cut is 2:14 with 18 chapters Theatrical Cut is 1:48 with 16 chapters. In the client UI (both web and Roku, and I assume all others), in the movie details page the time/length element, "Ends at" element, and all the chapters (number, thumbnails, etc.) are based on the 1st version alphabetically. So, for our example, it would show a length of 2:14. If it was 07:00 the End At would be 9:14, and there would be 18 thumbnails for the chapters. ... as the Director's cut is the 1st version. This doesn't change even if you use the Version pull down menu to select the other version. I suspect Emby is basing the length (and hence the Ends At) off the metadata not the file itself. I would like the UI to change those 3 fields base don the selected version in the pull down menu. So it starts off with length of 2:14. If it was 07:00 the End At would be 9:14, and there would be 18 thumbnails for the chapters. But, if I switch to Theatrical, the UI switches to length of 1:48. If it was 07:00 am the End At would be 8:48, and there would be 1_6_ thumbnails for the chapters. Thanks
