  1. There is absolutely no point to it. You can have 130votes and it never gets implemented, you can have 6 votes for something else and it does get implemented, because it’s actually easy or just a bug. the vote system sucks, the answer is always ”possible in future updates” Some of these requests stem back to 2015 and the duplicate sticker just highlights how long these requests have been in the system for. move to a transparent way of communication as to what is being worked on and hopefully reasons behind it. for example… ditching guid calls to improve library performance… required for WMC but not anymore you can maybe take on important stuff from the community that will enhance something that is already in the workflow. 2 pence worth from the idiot on the hill

  3. Hi I have quite a few emby users, I also keep my personal phone pictures on my emby server. Its getting tough to manage my users and make sure they have the correct access. Is there an option somewhere I am missing to click a library or something and view the list of users that have access to that library? Right now i have to go into every user, then view their access, meh.. I would love to just be able to see who has access to view my personal pictures (as one example) and view a list of users that have access to that particular library.

  4. I installed it over the weekend on a DS918+. I had no issues at all with Emby after the update.

  5. Agreed. We are desperately in need of a table-like view of library access, as @pir8radio says it gets quite cumbersome to manage with more users A flat view like this would be much easier to review at a glance:

  6. After some tinkering it turned out to be an issue with the Android audio settings. Setting the audio format settings to "None: never use surround sound" allowed videos with AC3 audio to play back normally. Thanks again for all your help.

  7. This guide will help in the updating of Emby server from command line remotely from any location. The tools you use may differ, but the procedures will be similar. 1. Download the Emby server package from GitHub Start Synology Download Station Click Create download task via URL Select the destination and Enter the URL for the Emby Server package file Click OK 2. Connect remotely to NAS using SSH Start SSH client such as Windows Terminal/PowerShell Enter SSH command in the format: ssh Admin@NAS IP address -p ssh port number Ex: ssh Admin@10.0.0.55 -p 8022 Enter Admin password 3. Install the Emby Server package Change directory to where you downloaded the Emby Server package file Ex: cd volume1/Downloads Stop the current Emby Server package from running sudo synopkg stop EmbyServer Install the Emby Server package you downloaded earlier Ex: sudo synopkg install emby-server-synology7_4.8.0.8_x86_64.spk Emby Server has now updated and the status should be running.

  8. This has been reported in emby theatre forum by another user since it is not available it should be a future request. In WMC it is slightly complicated you create two files with the link to your radio station a bit like pls files. This is much better than tunein, tunein has too many cards and options this way only the stations you listen to will be listed there. With this there is no external app everything plays directly in WMC and you control it by remote. This is WMC mcl file <application name="Narodni Radio " url="Narodni Radio .htm" startimage="Narodni Radio .jpg" thumbnailimage="Narodni Radio .jpg" description="Narodni Radio " category="1" companyname=""> <capabilitiesrequired directx="false" audio="true" video="false" intensiverendering="false" console="false" cdburning="false" /> </application> Then corresponding htm file <script> function IsMCEEnabled() { return true; } window.external.MediaCenter.PlayMedia(1, "http://s7.iqstreaming.com:9498"); window.external.MediaCenter.Experience.GoToFullScreen() window.external.MediaCenter.CloseApplication(); </SCRIPT>

  9. Is there currently an option to have the server/API use an anti-spoiler description on un-watched episodes and movies? Ideally for each Emby user there would be an option called "Hide plot for unwatched items" that could be enabled. Then for unwatched episodes/movies the you would just dummy text for the description/plot, such as "Hidden to prevent spoilers"

  10. Hey Luke. I am doing a total wipe of my NAS because the way it's setup right now it's limiting my storage.

  11. "Database cache size" - is the limit 1024? "Analysis row limit" - default is 400, but what would I put here if I wanted definite overkill, but still not complete insanity?

  12. Have you tried: Changing the sort order of the list to something different? Editing the Sort Title using the metadata editor? This will change the order when sorting by title.

  13. Hi, if you run our standard app on the same device, it is on our short term to do list because it is most of the way there and just needs a couple fixes related to this. For the TV app we'd have to rework the entire user interface and so it's just a matter of when this would become the most important item on the agenda for it.

  15. MB Air is mounted on the shield. "connected." I changed the name of the folder to MOVIESMAC (no spaces). I changed the file sharing on the mac to MOVIESMAC folder (read and write for everyone) The folder MOVIESMAC is showing as mounted share. I tried both the options rbjtech suggested. I still get "The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again." Here's the thing. I think it's time to throw oil the towel. I will still use Emby (and recommend it to people). I bought a lifetime subscription. But the purpose of this library is just to test movies before I add them to the main library which is on a hard drive plugged intro the shield. I still have Plex for that purpose. (Plex allows different servers for single users, so the MB AIR is a separate server, but shows up under my account on the shield.) I REALLY REALLY don't want to seem ungrateful! Everyone has been TREMENDOUSLY helpful and patient-- but this seems rather undoable by me. As you see above, the shield is connected to the MBAIR, it sees it. But I cannot seem to point Emby to it. And I gave it my best shot. But I think it's time to let this ambition go (along with the Nobel Peace Price, astronaut, and fireman.)

  17. Grundig was once a German electronics company. The brand name now belongs to BEKO.

  20. Thank you @alucryd for your openness to this topic. I think a dedicated user would be a better solution. I understand that this is not easy and above all not immediately realizable. I would be very happy if you would keep me informed about the internal decision. If I can support you somehow (e.g. as a beta tester) I can do that with pleasure.

  24. @pir8radio Not that I know of. Only way I can think of is the api UserService /Users/Query as it gives you all users config/policy info. Then reference the specific library id. Looks like you will have to do additional cross checking with the change from QUID to ID via LibraryService /library/mediafolders for the library.

  25. I constantly get iphone warnings due to my photos eating up all of my apple cloud space, they want me to buy more space.. Would be worth it for some just to use emby as an auto photo storage system... but you dont support HEIC photos... I just started using emby for this auto upload from my phone to clear out the apple cloud space.. Please add HEIC support.. even though its on the TO DO LIST, can we move this to the DONE list?

  30. Just to document. 2 recordings going on right now, here's the top report. As you can see, no obvious resource limit here! I'm getting more convinced I just had bad luck and it's actually antenna, something has changed. I re-pointed it a bit today, but, was not smart about it. I think I should disconnect the amplifier and then point it. Then add it back for a better representation of signals. Though there is still an oddity. Tonights broke up a few times, but seemed like normal antenna breakups (though I rarely had any before). But here's the oddity - I've had around 8 recordings I've watched since converting over to TrueNAS. All 8 have a bad section between 40 seconds and 3 minutes from the start, all 8. Several of those have zero other problem sections. That's just so odd. I think I will switch tuners also, I have 2 and I'll place the other one first. Later this week when I have no scheduled recordings like the weekend, I'll also update to the latest Scale version since an update came out. Just in case something goes wrong, want to have time to fix it.

  34. @quickmicI disabled Emby for Kodi, and deleted all libraries in Kodi (checked to confirm that MyVideosXXX.db and MyMusicXX.db had been deleted). After restarting the device (complete shutdown and restart), I enabled Emby for Kodi again. It did not crash after user login, and I was able to define the libraries again. Everything worked fine after that. I kept the logs from the reinstall and library reconfiguration if you would like to see them. I don't see the errors that you commented on previously. So I suspect that the database must have been corrupted when the device unexpectedly shutdown during the power outage. I'll report back if new issues present.

  36. Hi, this forum provides valuable information for us. We don't measure strictly on votes because we understand that not everyone actually clicks the voting buttons. But anyone who pays attention to that forum will have an idea of what topics are the most requested and that's really the most important thing. Bug fixes, maintenance items, improvements to existing features, those things are always going to be there. And yes occasionally there are going to be quick throw-ins that jump the line. It's just reality. There are times when we have capacity to take on major new features, and then there are other times when we're pretty booked and so we start looking for smaller wins. This is something that goes on with any software team.

  37. Did the shield update botch something up with Kodi ? I noticed my friends that connect remotely to my server are having a heck of a time playing anything without it freezing up. Locally it works fine. They did have http2 turned off also. I for the life of me cant figure it out edit : NM I used the search and seen people were having same probs. Darn Nvidia and their updates. Thank god for disabling http2 Mook

  40. Step 1 Skip this step if you are on DSM7 or later. Log into your NAS as administrator and go to Main Menu → Package Center → Settings and set Trust Level to Synology Inc. and trusted publishers. Step 2 In the Package Sources tab, click Add, type SynoCommunity as Name and https://packages.synocommunity.com/ as Location and then press OK to validate. Step 3 Go back to the Package Center and enjoy SynoCommunity's packages in the Community tab.

  43. How many cloudflare users of emby are in use I wonder ? would be good to know. I am a little worried about what @pir8radiosaid about users being blocked from videos. I would hate for that to happen to me while I am overseas (going for 2 months). Not for me watching, but for me having to fix it remotely under pressure from friends and family. With that in mind, I started a parallel 'backup' system. Bunny.net was a non started after discussions with them, and things have moved on in unraid since I went to cloudflare many years back. I have rolled out a system in parallel should cloudflare stop working. I tried the nginx Proxy Manager and the swag containers, and ended up picking swag. I configured the geoip2 database plugin from maxmind, so I have the geo blocking that cloudflare was providing, then I got fail2ban jails working for emby and jellyseerr. The only bit I will be missing is the DDOS protection and IP hiding capability. This is all running in a spare domain in parallel for now, but with a few clicks, I expect I can roll out out remotely wthout too much stress.

  45. I'm configuring it through a GUI on pfsense and not super familiar with it so I'm not saying it's impossible, but I can't find a way to apply it to only a specific backend, just on a specific frontend and all my websites go through the same frontend. That's the header I enabled last wednesday before my reply to luke which made the ip show up in emby and yeah, doesn't seem to cause any issues so should be fine. I don't really use it much outside of my network atm so pretty limited testing was done though.

  46. I have this now with my server. I created a new music library called Radio Stations and pointed it at the folder I setup with links to a handful of college radio station with a live feed on their website. I find the m3u8 feed address and add that to text file, name it the call sign of the station and save it as a strm file. I'll then find their station logo and download that, rename it to match the strm file and put them all together in the Radio Stations folder. Scanned it and it works. It's not perfect, but it does work remotely I hope that helps you or someone...

  47. Version 1.6.0 Notes: Play Store ratings with full reviews (outside of beta) are really important to be ranked and discovered as the application is relatively recent. So if you like the application please take some time to leave a full review. Added: Add option to hide Symfonium logo from the widget. Add support for Android media store (Local device) playlist import. Lyrics timestamps can now also be displayed at the end of the lines. Add support for albums Original release date. (For providers that support it, requires a sync) Add support for audiobook chapters when returned by Plex / Emby and Jellyfin. Add new option for Local device and Kodi to prefer song art instead of Album art. Add new option to animate the expanded now playing slider with waves like Android 13+ style. Add new Basic style for now playing design. Added a few workarounds to improve Jellyfin AudioBook support. Small animations tweaks in now playing screens. Add new option to ignore remote stop commands and treat them as pause (For some car when stopped for example). Fixed: Some fixes to better support Gonic (Subsonic) servers. Be sure to update your Gonic servers to the latest snapshot version. (https://github.com/sentriz/gonic) Workaround some Android Auto changes to properly pause when disconnecting. Workaround possible duplicate scrobbling with Plex servers. Finally hopefully fixed the unknown rare crash. Update Compose to the latest snapshot that contains all memory leak fixes.
